We definitely left this place with mixed feelings. They have potential and the food is pretty good, but service and prices left me underwhelmed. We showed up on a Sunday at 11am. It wasn't just busy, it was a really chaotic atmosphere. The hostess seemed very overwhelmed and our server was resigned and indifferent. Actually, all the servers seemed unhappy and strained, probably because chaos is difficult to work in. They made some changes to the interior. Since we were a party of 2 and it was crowded, we were seated at a tiny table next to a pillar with big comfy armchairs. It was quite charming but we had to remove a lot (jelly, coffee creamer etc) to make it functional. There appeared to be the same number of booths as when it was Luigi's, but they added some tables and it seemed like the staff had to squeeze between. The menu has a lot of breakfast items, burgers/sandwiches/salads for lunch and a small kids menu. Though interested in breakfast, I have a very specific egg allergy. While we waited on our server to come take our order, I perused the a la carte and sides sections to see what was comparable so I could ask if substitutions were allowed. I immediately noticed the a la carte and side items were pricey for what they were, most being $3-5. Considering most of the breakfast items were $10+ for typical offerings I wasn't interested in adding to the cost when I couldn't eat a third of the meal. When our server returned I asked about their substitution policy. In short she didn't know and she asked someone else who didn't know and said the could... probably do that. I asked if it would be a sub or an additional charge and she shrugged and said "they probably would charge you for that" with a deprecating look that suggested the owners like to nickel and dime. That whole exchange made me uncomfortable so I went with my backup option. The next exchange, asking what the home fries were and why they were $1 more, was equally perplexing. The server actually had some disparaging things to say about the cook on them and indicated she didn't think they were worth more. Okay... this is just bizarre, both that the staff doesn't know their upcharges/policy and that she was openly undermining the establishment. She did end on a positive note by saying the regular fries and sweet potato fries were good. I got the turkey club with sweet potato fries for $9 and my husband went with the American burger for $8 and ordered cheese fries with a side of ranch. While I was turned off the pricing for a la carte, salads and some breakfast items, I thought the pricing on the burgers and sandwiches were in line with other businesses and general expectations. The wait for the food was pretty long, over 20 minutes. The food was mostly a hit though. The portion sizes were very fair for the price. The orders weren't correct- the pickle that comes with both was missing from mine, but on his. The bacon shouldn't have been sent out, only 10% of it was actually edible. His fries didn't have cheese and he didn't have his side of ranch. By the time the server checked on us, we were more than halfway through our meal and she offered to go get the ranch. We said it wasn't necessary and to just make sure we weren't charged for the cheese and side of ranch. Both of our fries were excellent, some of the best I've had. Those might be my favorite sweet potato fries, perfectly crispy and well seasoned! The turkey club was pretty good once I gave in and removed the bacon. It wasn't processed lunch meat, it was a decent quality with fresh veggies. I just wish they had quality controlled that bacon, some of it was fatty and some of it was burnt enough to stab me in the gums/roof of the mouth- both types couldn't be chewed through and were inedible. A couple of small pieces were pretty good, but I had to make a mess of my sandwich to rebuild it. My husband said his burger was good and juicy and he would order it again. He didn't have bacon, so I can't speak to consistency of what they are serving. We both tried his fries and they were quite good, but I honestly think the sweet potato fries are the way to go! Oh, and they had extremely clean silverware! :) We weren't checked on after that and didn't get any refills, which is a shame because I liked their sweet tea. I also had to wait in line to pay for over 15 minutes which is entirely too long- they need to have more than one person cashing out and cutting down on the chatter might've helped. It was frustrating because we had been there so long and I had cash ready, I just needed someone to take it from me. I really enjoyed the tea and the fries but incorrect orders, ruined bacon, a chaotic atmosphere with some higher prices and long wait times just doesn't inspire me to put this in the rotation. The overall experience will keep me from rushing back, but we will probably try them for lunch again in a few months to see if they worked out the kinks. read more

This is my Dad and my second visit. Our first visit was for some burgers but the subject of this review was for our breakfest meals. First off with a quick glance of the people in the restaurant you will note that seniors make up more than 50% of the patrons. With that fact why is the type font of both the menu and take home menus so very small. Couple that with the low lighting made the menu unreadable for my Dad. We told the owner about that and he did not seem to indicate that there would be a change. As the food went my Dad got the Nutella Stack (pancakes) ($10) and a side of bacon. His order came with 4 pancakes with banana slices, whipped cream, and a Nutella drizzle. He and I liked the bacon (2 slices for $3.50). He wished more banana slices would have been given because the pancakes were blah. Way too much for him as well. I got the Cheddar Biscuit Omelette which is homemade buttermilk biscuits topped with cheddar cheese omelette and sausage gravy with hash browns and two pancakes. ($10). The omelette was okay but the hash browns were not cooked well. They ended up bringing me another plate after I pointed it out. I also ordered some very hot coffee ($2.80) but not offered any refills until we were getting ready to leave. We are unsure when or if we will be back. BTW I tried the North Point hot sauce they had for sale and was not impressed. I wondered why they do not have open bottles on the tables with the two store brands that they have out. read more

3 of us went to eat, none of us were impressed. None of us hated our food either, it was just blah. Not a whole lot of flavor. Hopefully the owners see this and make adjustments. There's far too many breakfast places around to just be blah. Service was very fast, and friendly enough. Also, they should take the "Best of Denton" decals off their windows since that was for their prior business, Luigi's. The only thing that changed since Luigi's is the menu and the business name. There was no remodeling inside (not that it was necessary, but would have been nice. It's very dark in there) read more

Pricing is decent and the one dish that I tried was tasty. This place is what I would categorize as slightly elevated diner food. Not much of an atmosphere and an older interior that is outdated but not in a cool kitschy vintage way, just old and uninteresting. Waitstaff is nice and attentive. I will have to give it one more try and get the breakfast instead of the Ruben sandwich. The Ruben was tasty but not a traditional deli Ruben, that would be piled high like you would expect, but like I said, tasted really good. With so many decent restaurants in and around the Square I would give this place a pass unless you're in a hurry and just want a quick bite to eat. There is a bar inside, if that's your thing. read more

Stopped in for brunch today. When told they do not have white wines, only Cabernets, we left. Who has a stong red wine with breakfast anyway? Went to one of their competiters, The place has slipped a lot. read more

We've driven past this restaurant before, and the parking lot is always full, one of the ways to tell if it's a good place to go eat. We were not disappointed! There was no wait, and the menu has so many wonderful options, all very reasonably priced. I had the avocado Benedict, with fresh fruit--and it was fresh, not thawed frozen. I loved everything about it! Definitely a place to put on our "must try again" list. read more

I'm really pleased with their ' North Point Reuben' Sandwich! The sweet potato fries go perfectly with it.

My daughter is a waitress at Northpoint café. Besides it being a very friendly high-quality food experience I understand people think that our waitresses do not get their tips. I can guarantee you 100% that all of the waitresses receive their tips and are treated with the upmost respect by the employer do not believe that they do not receive their tips. I'm not sure who is posting this over and over but it is untrue. Northpoint café is an amazing place to go with your family for a delicious meal with the highest quality food in Denton. read more

Had a great breakfast here. Although it was super busy when I came (Sunday at 11am) the food didn't take too long to get out. I had the spicy omelette and it was delicious. Reasonable prices too. Would recommend! read more

First visit on Labor Day. Eclectic decor, pleasant, not noisy. Weekends, expect a wait. Ordered the Sante Fe skillet ; waited 35-40 mins for it to come out!! It was OK; not great. Eggs, Hashbrowns, avocado, onion were good but chorizo made it too greasy. Service was underwhelming unlike other reviews I read. I WAS going to the Egg House just down the street where I know the food and service is excellent. Sort of wished I had stayed on plan. read more

Once again, I made the long trek up to Denton from Dallas just to eat breakfast at North Point Cafe. It is a great diner with incredible service and food. We had a leisurely breakfast meeting. Next time though I think we'll plan our meeting to take advantage of the full bar that I saw over my partner's shoulder. I love how this bustling spot is growing. read more

I didn't even get seated. I came in for the 1st time, and who I'd assume was the owner was yelling at a DoorDash delivery driver. Yelling, saying it's his business and she was making his business look bad, just yelling at this woman because THEY didn't receive the DoorDash order. And meanwhile, customers are ready to eat, waiting to get seated including myself. No one greeted or asked the customers waiting for anything, we're all looking at each other awkwardly. So after 5 minutes of him berating this DoorDash driver, I left. I'm sure if the driver got the order, and the customer made the order, then the restaurant may be at fault, they could've made an attempt to make it right. The owner made himself look bad. If that's how they treat their customers, I will never be back. Great way to lose potential customers. read more

I visited here on Easter and the service was amazing! The staff was very nice and helpful, they also brought the food out to us in a very quick manner. Not to mention, the food was so delicious and the pancakes were some of the best I have ever tasted! I definitely will be coming here more frequently. Not only were there a few different vegetarian options, but the California Benedict was top notch and the Santa Fe skillet (not vegetarian) was everything I could've asked for! read more

CHECK YOUR RECEIPT for automatic tips! Especially if your total is $80 or more. We used to love this cafe. They have good food and we love their fresh squeezed orange juice. I would have previously given 4 stars until our recent visit on 01/14/2023. We enjoyed our meal but when the server came for payment I thought it was odd that she didn't give me a printed ticket but instead held out a tablet showing the total due, with a prompt for the tip. It was obvious that she didn't want me to handle the tablet. I thought the total seemed a bit high but I went ahead and entered a 18% tip and signed it. I then had to ask for a printed copy of the receipt. Upon review I noticed that she had already added a 20% tip which is why the total seemed high to me. I went to talk to her about it but she had disappeared. I went to the front desk and the owner (I presume) came out and I explained the situation to him. He said that any ticket over $80 automatically gets the tip added. I asked him how we are supposed to know this - no response. The server never said anything and there was nothing showing on the tablet to let me know it had been added. I also told him that typically the tip is added based upon the number of diners. (We had 5 adults and a 10 mo old baby) I told him to remove the charge for the extra tip and I saw him doing things on the screen indicating it was removed but when he reprinted the ticket it still had the same total even though the screen showed the second tip at $0.00! That's when I realized that this is intentional fraud. I called this to his attention and he punched some more buttons and printed a ticket showing the adjusted amount. I just checked my card transactions (10 days later) and I only see a charge for the original amount with no adjustments. CONFIRMATION OF FRAUD! Thankfully I kept both copies of the receipt. read more

The food was good but the service was horrible. We were seated for 10 min before someone came to help us. And we had to request it from the next table. Excellent place to sit and enjoy breakfast! My family and I all met here and the restaurant staff were really nice, attentive to our needs, and the food was excellent. Nice server. Food was same as another diner. Nothing special. Would give a better review if we weren't seated between the bathrooms when there were dozens of tables available. As we were eating servers or employees sat behind us in unstable and wobbly booths and starting talking in a different language than English. They were not eating and we found it offensive they were right behind us. don't know what they may have been referring to and that is disrespectful . They could have been somewhere else in the the very large building. If you want your employees to have free range of the restaurant then seat them somewhere away from customers. Probably won't come back. read more

We (2 people) just walked out after being there for 45+ minutes. We were sat immediately and the place didn't seem overly busy. But, little did we know NONE of the tables in our section had been given any attention or service. The sweet host FINALLY came and took our drink order. Our server came and saw us ONLY once to take our order and let us know how much she was struggling! Then we continues to wait, and wait as all the tables around us got there food and we still hadn't even been looked at or told "your food will be out shortly." We finally asked another waitress about why our food was taking longer than EVERY OTHER TABLE and she had no idea we even had ordered. We finally got up and walked out! Ridiculous service and never going back! Though the host was kind! Went to Waffle House instead! In and out in less than 30 mins and the food was AMAZING!!!! read more

Love. This. Place. Service is solid but the food is what I dream of. Crepes are just among the very best I've had anywhere in the world.
