Pricing is decent and the one dish that I tried was tasty. This place is what I would categorize as slightly elevated diner food. Not much of an atmosphere and an older interior that is outdated but not in a cool kitschy vintage way, just old and uninteresting. Waitstaff is nice and attentive. I will have to give it one more try and get the breakfast instead of the Ruben sandwich. The Ruben was tasty but not a traditional deli Ruben, that would be piled high like you would expect, but like I said, tasted really good. With so many decent restaurants in and around the Square I would give this place a pass unless you're in a hurry and just want a quick bite to eat. This is my Dad and my second visit. Our first visit was for some burgers but the subject of this review was for our breakfest meals. First off with a quick glance of the people in the restaurant you will note that seniors make up more than 50% of the patrons. With that fact why is the type font of both the menu and take home menus so very small. Couple that with the low lighting made the menu unreadable for my Dad. We told the owner about that and he did not seem to indicate that there would be a change. As the food went my Dad got the Nutella Stack (pancakes) ($10) and a side of bacon. His order came with 4 pancakes with banana slices, whipped cream, and a Nutella drizzle. He and I liked the bacon (2 slices for $3.50). He wished more banana slices would have been given because the pancakes were blah. Way too much for him as well. I got the Cheddar Biscuit Omelette which is homemade buttermilk biscuits topped with cheddar cheese omelette and sausage gravy with hash browns and two pancakes. ($10). The omelette was okay but the hash browns were not cooked well. They ended up bringing me another plate after I pointed it out. I also ordered some very hot coffee ($2.80) but not offered any refills until we were getting ready to leave. We are unsure when or if we will be back. BTW I tried the North Point hot sauce they had for sale and was not impressed. I wondered why they do not have open bottles on the tables with the two store brands that they have out. read more

3 of us went to eat, none of us were impressed. None of us hated our food either, it was just blah. Not a whole lot of flavor. Hopefully the owners see this and make adjustments. There's far too many breakfast places around to just be blah. Service was very fast, and friendly enough. Also, they should take the "Best of Denton" decals off their windows since that was for their prior business, Luigi's. The only thing that changed since Luigi's is the menu and the business name. We've driven past this restaurant before, and the parking lot is always full, one of the ways to tell if it's a good place to go eat. We were not disappointed! There was no wait, and the menu has so many wonderful options, all very reasonably priced. I had the avocado Benedict, with fresh fruit--and it was fresh, not thawed frozen. I loved everything about it! Definitely a place to put on our "must try again" list. read more

My daughter is a waitress at Northpoint café. Besides it being a very friendly high-quality food experience I understand people think that our waitresses do not get their tips. I can guarantee you 100% that all of the waitresses receive their tips and are treated with the upmost respect by the employer do not believe that they do not receive their tips. First visit on Labor Day. Eclectic decor, pleasant, not noisy. Weekends, expect a wait. Ordered the Sante Fe skillet ; waited 35-40 mins for it to come out!! It was OK; not great. Eggs, Hashbrowns, avocado, onion were good but chorizo made it too greasy. Service was underwhelming unlike other reviews I read. Once again, I made the long trek up to Denton from Dallas just to eat breakfast at North Point Cafe. It is a great diner with incredible service and food. We had a leisurely breakfast meeting. Next time though I think we'll plan our meeting to take advantage of the full bar that I saw over my partner's shoulder. I love how this bustling spot is growing. read more

I didn't even get seated. I came in for the 1st time, and who I'd assume was the owner was yelling at a DoorDash delivery driver. Yelling, saying it's his business and she was making his business look bad, just yelling at this woman because THEY didn't receive the DoorDash order. And meanwhile, customers are ready to eat, waiting to get seated including myself. No one greeted or asked the customers waiting for anything, we're all looking at each other awkwardly. So after 5 minutes of him berating this DoorDash driver, I left. I'm sure if the driver got the order, and the customer made the order, then the restaurant may be at fault, they could've made an attempt to make it right. The owner made himself look bad. If that's how they treat their customers, I will never be back. Great way to lose potential customers. read more

I visited here on Easter and the service was amazing! The staff was very nice and helpful, they also brought the food out to us in a very quick manner. Not to mention, the food was so delicious and the pancakes were some of the best I have ever tasted! I definitely will be coming here more frequently. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT for automatic tips! Especially if your total is $80 or more. We used to love this cafe. They have good food and we love their fresh squeezed orange juice. I would have previously given 4 stars until our recent visit on 01/14/2023. We enjoyed our meal but when the server came for payment I thought it was odd that she didn't give me a printed ticket but instead held out a tablet showing the total due, with a prompt for the tip. It was obvious that she didn't want me to handle the tablet. I thought the total seemed a bit high but I went ahead and entered a 18% tip and signed it. I then had to ask for a printed copy of the receipt. Upon review I noticed that she had already added a 20% tip which is why the total seemed high to me. I went to talk to her about it but she had disappeared. I went to the front desk and the owner (I presume) came out and I explained the situation to him. He said that any ticket over $80 automatically gets the tip added. I asked him how we are supposed to know this - no response. The server never said anything and there was nothing showing on the tablet to let me know it had been added. I also told him that typically the tip is added based upon the number of diners. (We had 5 adults and a 10 mo old baby) I told him to remove the charge for the extra tip and I saw him doing things on the screen indicating it was removed but when he reprinted the ticket it still had the same total even though the screen showed the second tip at $0.00! That's when I realized that this is intentional fraud. I called this to his attention and he punched some more buttons and printed a ticket showing the adjusted amount. I just checked my card transactions (10 days later) and I only see a charge for the original amount with no adjustments. CONFIRMATION OF FRAUD! Thankfully I kept both copies of the receipt. read more

They could have been somewhere else in the the very large building. If you want your employees to have free range of the restaurant then seat them somewhere away from customers. I really enjoyed my stay. My little family of 3 came for a breakfast. The service was pretty quick, our waitress was very kind. I had the chicken and waffles- and they were very good! Chicken wasn't dry and the waffles were crispy and fluffy! I will say I wasn't blown away by any means, but this place has potential for sure.
