They have a nice covered area with fans and misters ,if you're in the mood to dine outside. They start with olive oil with balsamic vinegar. I wish they had the oil separate, the vinegar took away the flavor of the oil. They served it with the crusty bread. Next was a simple salad, fresh and good. Normally, I'm a fan of the location in Gilbert but tonight flat out sucked. Adding this to the list of places I won't be coming back to. 15 minutes to greet us after we sat down. 20 minutes before we got water brought to the table. The food didn't turn out well. North Italia has a great vibe whether you are relaxing on the large shaded patio or  sitting inside. It's the perfect spot to meet up with family and friends or even enjoy a solo meal. We started with the Cacio e Pepe Arancini with crispy risotto, pecorino romano, crushed pepper blend, and pesto aioli, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and packed with flavor. For our entrees we ordered the fig and prosciutto pizza and the breakfast carbonara, and both were terrific. The pizza had the perfect balance of sweet and salty flavors, while the carbonara was rich, comforting, and delicious. In addition to tea, lemonade, and soda, they also offer specialty alcohol-free drinks. I tried the Faux Me Twice with n/a sauvignon blanc, strawberry, pineapple, and smashed citrus. It was fresh, refreshing, and a great addition to the meal. North Italia is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always delicious and that's why I keep going back. Went in for my birthday this evening and as always got the Arancini and white truffle garlic bread for apps, again as always soo good. My the main I got the Agnolotti al Pomodoro which was a first for me and oh man it is definitely my new favorite. Noodles filled with warm ricotta in a tomato sauce drizzled with a pesto oil, it is PERFECTION!!! For dessert I was given a brownie Sunday which was also good. The reason for the 3 stars is service was unbearably slow. We waited 15 minutes just to put in drink orders after seated and the wait just kept getting longer between everytime our server came over. I would of probably got another drink if I didn't know it would Be 20-30 minutes before I saw it. Again food and atmosphere is always amazing very disappointed is the service this evening. read more

We've frequented North many times over the years at their other locations and have stopped in to the one in Gilbert a few times as well. The restaurant is casual enough for meeting with friends but also one of my favorites for date night with my husband. Reservations are offered through their website if you're going on a popular evening, but we tend to make one for other days as well, just in case, to be seated promptly upon arrival. Their menu consists pasta & pizza dishes, salads, etc. that are modern Italian. My favorites from the appetizers are the Zucca Chips (although these do tend to be pretty salty) & White Truffle Garlic Bread. I can't think of anything I haven't liked yet, but some notable mentions are their Funghi pizza, Prosciutto pizza, Seasonal Vegetable Salad, and the Strozzalreti pasta dish. All delicious. They do have a kids menu for the littles; I've been here with my 5 year old and he really likes their Spaghetti & Meatballs. If you're in the area, give them a try. Food 3/5 It was a sub-par night after such a great run of visits. North Italian has become one of our favorite places to visit for modern Italian. We both ordered the pan sautéed mushrooms which came out cold and no creamy garlic sauce. It normally comes out sizzling hot. The mushroom cluster bases were intact. Someone in the kitchen was rushed or untrained. Very disappointed and we both sent them back. My wife had a Cesar Salad and I stayed the course and chose the Crushed Ravioli. Mine came out almost room temperature, another big surprise. The flavor was great but not served properly. The manager (same gentleman for all visits) removed both orders of Pan seared mushrooms. Our server felt bad but we let her know it was the kitchen that fell short tonight not her service. $53.50 after removing both orders of mushrooms and $20 cash for great service. I enjoyed the food and service so much on my first visit that I came back a second time, this time with my husband for our monthly date night. You We had a 6:45 p.m. reservation made weeks in advance. Although we were seated around 7:00, we didn't receive our main courses until almost 8:00 p.m. The food was excellent, just like the first visit. I ordered the squid ink tonnelli and my husband had the bolognese--both were delicious. I understand it's a busy time of year, but waiting close to an hour for entrées was disappointing. Our server was apologetic and said she wasn't sure what was going on with the kitchen, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, it ended up being a no-dessert night--we were ready to leave by then. An excellent spot for Italian food in Gilbert. Great location after a day out and about! The inside is nice. Plenty of seating throughout as well as seating at the bar. I really enjoyed the ambiance and loved the lighting to set the mood. There is a large outdoor patio, too. There are TVs that had the game on but didn't take away from the overall setting. The menu here is pretty straightforward for an Italian spot. A nice mix of traditional Italian dishes and their own spins on some. The pizzas are very good; highly recommend - the hot honey and smoked prosciutto pizza is phenomenal. Portions are nicely sized, too! We got treated to the truffle bread appetizer and it was delicious. Kids menu is decent and the portions are good sizes as well. Their drinks menu was nice and had some good looking cocktails! Great selection and full bar. Large selection of wine as well. North is a great for a special occasion, date night, or happy hour. Definitely will be back. We were a party of 6, walked in for dinner. We had to wait for about 30-40 mins or so! The parking was ample in this location and the vibe was great! Good stuff for a night out with friends! Once we got seated our server took really good care of us! I had the prosecco, my husband got a glass of red wine, and rest of our friends got the holiday special drinks! For appetizers we got the calamari, margarita pizza, the vegetable salad, and garlic bread. The Calamari was on the saltier side. The pizza was okay! We had better. It was not the best. Just average! However the Salad and the Garlic bread was winner. The whipped Ricotta that came with the bread was chef's kiss! For entree's most of us got the Chicken Pesto and Seafood Pasta! The Pasta on the Chicken Pesto was slightly over done not Andante! Finished the night with some Tiramisu. The Tiramisu was delicious! I wish the pizza and pasta were better. Lovely atmosphere throughout the restaurant and patio. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food and not a crumb was left behind. I am a big fan of North Italia and have been a frequent visitor of the Arcadia location for years. They are part of Fox Restaurant Concepts and we are lucky to have a number of them here in the Valley. Sam Fox calls this place his "love letter to Italy". North Italia is a modern take on made-from-scratch traditional Italian dishes prepared daily with fresh, seasonal ingredients. I recently came here to this location in Gilbert one late night with friends just before closing time. This North location is quite spacious. The restaurant itself is inviting and has a nice relaxed atmosphere to it. The Pig (with Italian sausage and San Marzano tomato sauce) and Bacon & Egg Pizza are some of the popular pizza selections. They also have a variety of wines and small plates to choose from like the signature Prosciutto Bruschetta with Crescenza cheese and grilled asparagus. I love their spaghetti & braised meatball plate. But tonight, I was all about their Bolognese pasta dish. I was in heaven eating that pasta. Our service was great despite our late arrival. I've been meaning to visit this place for a while now, and I finally got the chance to go for dinner on a Saturday night with my girls. We had a reservation, and when we walked in, the indoor seating was completely full, so we were seated on the patio. And honestly? What a beautiful setup. The patio is such a lovely space to hang out in, I can already tell it's going to be a total hit during the summer months. Our server was incredibly sweet and attentive. She gave us great wine and food suggestions, which we truly appreciated. I went with a white wine, and for food we ordered the funghi pizza, strozzapreti pasta, and a side of Brussels sprouts. The pizza was so good I could've easily finished the whole thing myself! The toasted mushrooms and smoked mozzarella added such lovely depth of flavor. The strozzapreti was equally delicious. You could really taste the pine nuts, and the roasted chicken brought a rich, comforting flavor to the dish. The only letdown was the Brussels sprouts they were overly fried and felt a bit too burnt for our liking. I have driven by this place many times and always said I wanted to stop there. My friends and I finally had lunch there and we were not disappointed. We sat at the bar but there was plenty of table seating too. Clean menus, nice bartender and other employees around helping. Nice chill atmosphere for couples and singles. Lots of choices for lunch but, we chose breakfast because it is served until 4 pm . Food was flavorful, hot, and satisfying, we all made e adjustments to our order from what was listed in the menu ( no issue there). Any car could plow right through and into the restaurant accidentally...or not. Please consider this for patron safety. But separately, we popped in and were pleased to get a table near the bar immediately. According to our receipt our server was Lexy L. We felt like she was very lukewarm at first encounter. There was nothing pleasant or friendly about her, it was hello and straight to the point. We ordered 4 menu items. They came out in decently quick manner. The steak panzanella was a scam. There were like 3 whole steak pieces for 22.00. Taste wasn't anything to write home about. Chicken pesto lacked seasoning, salt specifically. The bolognese papardelle came out and was a tad undercooked. The noodles were a little tough still. And lastly the heirloom burrata. It was good, but again, nothing spectacular. I hate paying for food that doesn't make me want to come back and enjoy it again. Im not new to north italia been dining at it plenty of times in California. This is my favorite restaurant hands down, I come here every year for my birthday and any other time my wallet allows! The interior is very intimate with moody lighting, the patio is huge and inviting and they have an extra room for big parties or just extra seating. I always get their chicken pesto with extra capers which is *chef's Kiss* and the truffle bread as an appetizer. The only thing I don't like here is their dessert, I have yet to find a good one unfortunately. read more

Restaurant Week Regular menu is pricey. It's just pasta, after all. Ambiance doesn't feel Italian. Music is mellow contemporary, decor is very Spartan (mostly covered windows). One entire wall is the bar, and it is open to the outside. It didn't feel like Italy at all (and, yes, I have been to Italy). I ordered the Sicilian meatballs, Bolognese, and chocolate gelato Meatballs were good. Served on bed of polenta, which was very good. A nice dish. I'd order this again. Bolognese was average. Not bad, but didn't knock my socks off, either. The spicy rigatoni my wife ordered was better, more robust flavors. I would opt for the rigatoni over the Bolognese. The gelato was gelato. It was good. Angel was very friendly, but easily distracted. She would disappear for long stretches, apparently talking with kitchen staff. I always enjoy North Italia - their food is always pretty consistent at all their locations. We were in the area so met me in-laws for dinner on a Monday night around 6. We had a reservation and were seated right away. It was pretty busy for a Monday!! We had the meatballs as an appetizer to share - comes with 3, so if you have more people, it may be worth it to ask if they can add any to the order. I ordered the specialty pizza which was a spicy sausage pizza. It was delicious, but not spicy at all. My husband ordered the spicy rigatoni vodka pasta. This one had a little kick and had so much flavor with the pancetta. For dessert, we shared the brookie sundae. It was a large dessert, so I'm glad we shared. It was rich with the 3 flavors of gelato, the chocolate sauce, bananas, strawberries, and pecans. I never have a bad meal at North Italia. Finally had the chance to check out North Italia. It's been on my list since forever! I was not disappointed with my visit. I came in on a late Sunday night. No wait time, friendly service, and even better food and drinks. We started off with their arancini and white truffle garlic bread...sooo yummy!! I couldn't decide on what pasta to have for my main course but ended up having their new lasagna plate. It was the perfect amount of spice and cheese! I did feel like it was a bit too runny on my first few bites but as it cooled down and the lasagna noodles absorbed more of the sauce it was the most perfect comfort food plate. The vibe of this location was beautiful, modern look with dimmed lights perfect for a date/girls night. This is the cutest North there is! Great ambience and very open but cozy. We got the La Dolce Vita drink and the Sunset Alibis both were good. Then we shared the chicken pesto pasta and the hot honey & smoked prosciutto pizza. They always split the pasta for us which is so nice and it's the best! We regularly dine in and love this place. But today doing an online pick up order I was very disappointed. The pick up area is not labeled, so it is confusing to see where you go for help. I ended up checking in with someone who "checked me in" and still I waited 15-20 minutes for my online pick up order (that was promised five minutes before I arrived). And I actually only got helped by someone the second time after speaking up and asking again. It is a very inefficient online pick up situation. I also needed to move four times because I kept getting in people's way. There should be a better designated spot for this. Then to top it off, this is my child's $11 buttered noodles. There are maybe 15 of them. I do not see this as a proper serving. I love this place and want to continue supporting, but tonight frustrated me. read more
