The food is decent. Last time I was there, I saw a bottle of Thomas Handy Sazerac. I ordered it on a big rock. When the bill came it was $80. That is a bit steep for a bottle that costs $150. About $40 seems fair. Would have been nice to have the bartender say it was that price. read more

Good food, reasonable prices, and great bartenders. I live in this neighborhood and enjoy eating here on occasion.

Really good fish and chips. They have gone up quite a bit in price, but what hasn't? Excellent wait staff!

I've eaten here before, and the food has always been consistently good. However, tonight's experience left me a bit confused by their policy. We were a party of six, and there were no "large party tables" available. I asked the hostess if we could use two empty four-seater tables instead, but she explained that their policy doesn't allow splitting a party across two tables. I even suggested we split into two groups of three and pay separately as if we were two parties, but after checking with the manager, the answer was still no. This policy feels unnecessarily rigid--especially when the tables were available. It's hard to understand why they would choose to turn away over $200 in business rather than accommodate a simple request. In the end, we went across the street to a bar and grill that had no problem accommodating us. I'm giving 3 stars because the hostess was very kind, and the food has been great in the past. That said, I hope the management reconsiders this policy in the future. read more

North Fork Tavern - New American Near Me - Eugene, Oregon

This is a classic brewpub setup. A great menu with brunch options on the weekends. They make good cocktails (I have the Blackberry Bourbon Smash) and have a good variety of beers. We had some classic brunch items - eggs Benny, shrimp & grits and a breakfast burrito. Their menu does change occasionally so always check the whole menu before ordering to see if there is something new. Parking can be a little bit of a challenge in the area but nothing too difficult. Just be sure you read signs bc there are some resident only areas. The staff is friendly and they have a partial open kitchen design. Beautiful bar with lots of seating. read more

Great spot! Was recommended by a friend and they were spot on! Fried chicken was amazing and I tried the Vienna lager that was a vanilla flavored beer. The service was awesome and it was a terrific place to watch the game on the big screens. read more

Great service, delicious food and good selection. I came here for Sunday brunch with the family. Service was excellent and attention to detail was great. Good lighting and easy parking. I ordered the North Fork burger ($17) and loved it. The buns were really soft. Although it is strange that we got charged $18 for them? Maybe the ranch dressing was extra? Also they accept InKind app here. Definitely want to be back for their dinner menu. read more

Very nice restaurant. Food and service were quick and enjoyable. Would highly recommend.

Hit the North Fork impromptu foe a late night dinner on Saturday. The wine menu. ALL OREGON wine offerings. As it should be - thank you!! It was late so opted for a house salad with vinaigrette, sautéed mushrooms and truffle fries. Hubby had the strawberry salad with grilled chicken. Two glasses of Pino noir two old fashions. Fun place food was good. Extra star for that wine menu. Well done North Fork! read more

We made a reservation for Thanksgiving dinner. Everything was scheduled. The next day a manager called and told me that did not have any open spots, they we over booked. Thus, he canceled our reservation and told us to find another option. Saying your sorry is great and all, but having family all come together with no place to meet or eat (we dont live near there) is not helpful. Canceling without giving us options is poor service. How does a computer program allow you to over book when your appointment taker told me it was open when he said he looked? I'm confused and unhappy. read more

Great food, nice servers and bartenders, and an active atmosphere! I've enjoyed almost every meal across the dozen or so times I've been - sometimes the soup of the day is a little iffy, but everything else has always been good. The French fries are thick and salty, the dressings are all homemade and very flavorful, the mac and cheese is a good mix of creamy and cheesy, without overdoing it - it's all a little pricey, but worth it. The roasted chicken is very good, and I enjoy their seasonal specials. Last time I went, they had a beef stroganoff with local mushrooms - yum! ... sometimes I go just for the French fries, haha. read more

This is an amazing find. First time visiting. The restaurant includes kitchen cooking viewing. The menu is tantalizing. The bar back is impressive. We ordered a few items to share so we could sample the menu. We started with the wedge salad. Two sizes we took the large to split. They split it and served on separate plates, no problem. Their wedge is made with butter lettuce and their own made from scratch Blue Cheese dressing. Next we ordered Mac n cheese . They make their own cheddar cheese cream sauce oh my. Then I wanted to try their fried chicken and cornbread. Hard to find real fried chicken in Eugene. The picture on line didn't look too good but the reviews said otherwise so I went for it. As we were perusing the menu a chicken dinner plate was served next to us. It didn't look like the pictures. It definitely had two pieces of chicken and looked like mashed potatoes. Sure enough that was it. The server confirmed and I ordered it. Now this still isn't the Fried Chicken I'm looking for but, it is a great plate. The chicken is two breasts tenderized and lightly breaded and fried beautifully golden. It's served on a spread of real mashed potatoes that are top quality. The plate is served with a Demi glaze reduction sauce that I forgot to ask its ingredients. It's yummy . We also had the Frickles. They were fine. The breading had trouble staying on? With those 4 items we were both able to be full and had a box with Mac&Cheese and some chicken with potatoes to take home. I had a 25 oz beer and wife had water. We arrived at 4:40 and seated within 5 minutes. We got in just before the 5 O'clock rush. We had the place to ourselves save two other two tops. It started to fill up and I saw a line developing. They do have outside dining which filled up while the inside did. We got the bill and were shocked it was only $64. Salad $19 Frickles $15, Max & Cheese $18, chicken $22 and 25 oz beer $10. We got happy hour prices . I asked what was available for happy hour. Our server (Chelsea) said everything on the menu qualifies. Everything is at least reduced 10 % and some 20%. So we got great food at a very good price. Chris is the manager we had conversation with. He was very attentive and even tried to better the level of the table. He moved us over a table which was still a great setting to us. Looking back I would have liked to sit where I could view the open kitchen to watch the team prepare the plates. That's cause I'm a little bit of a foodie and I like that stuff. Chelsea took excellent care of us throughout the meal. We would highly recommend this restaurant for, Food quality, quantity and presentation. The bar is extensive and selection of Tap beers bountiful. Wine selection, didn't notice. Betcha it's adequate too. This will be harder to get into in the future. Reservations maybe in order. Enjoy read more

Very good service and the food was good also. We sat outside because it was Mother's Day and the restaurant was fully booked. Their heaters weren't working so we were a little chilly but not bad. We'll be back about close to our new home. read more

We arrived just after opening and found the tavern welcoming and perfectly suited to conversation. It was happy hour and we thoroughly enjoyed the baked Brie. First of all they done a great job with their Covid pivot; their outdoor tents are comfortable, each table has its own heater, their protocols are clear. Bravo! Really like their cocktail and wine list. Very well curated and interesting. They also have great nightly specials like wine Wednesday with discounts on full bottles of wine and a good happy hour menu I really wanted to love their food menu. It looked like it was going to be great. But we ordered the chicken wings which ended up being drumsticks. Not ideal. They weren't very crispy and they were undercooked. The dipping sauces with them were delicious. Also got the brussels sprouts which were perfectly cooked but they were really over-salted. The duck fat chips were tasty. The gravy on them is good but it's too heavy for the delicate chips. So they get soggy pretty quickly. I would definitely go back. The interior is beautifully designed and comfortable. But I'm not sure I would order much off of the food menu. read more

Always a great time at Northfork, good for solo dining, families, and groups! Open space, upbeat, fresh menu, and delightful stuff - the service is helpful, food is fresh and always good vibes. They serve brunch from 10 to 2, on the weekends at least! Closed on Mondays and have TVs to watch, usually sports! You really can't go wrong, I've had everything on the menu pretty much. The simple North Fork breakfast on their brunch menu is the best bougie simple spread in Eugene, if you're looking for bacon. First time coming here to North Fork ! The Tavern was beautiful. The customer service was impeccable. We didn't have to wait not even, Few minutes to be seated. Everyone that work there was so polite and very friendly. Our server gave us great suggestions and mentioned all the specials. All of the food was delicious and decadent on the plates. We had a great conversation with the one of the servers about the other food and how it's our first time there. The prices did not seem too bad, at all. We were amazed and very impressed. Had some friends visit for my birthday and needed a place near by. How maxing and yet dangerous to find this place a stone throw away from home. We decided to get the Mac n cheese to split, an order or steak frites, an order or tomato basil soup with a mini grilled cheese and the north fork burger. All the drinks and food were exceptional! The staff was friendly however towards the end of our meal it felt as though we were forgotten about and tried getting the attention of our waiter for more water for the table. We met friends for dinner at Northfork a couple weeks ago on a Friday night, so it was busy (to be expected). About 25 minutes after we ordered, the waiter came by to tell us our food would be ready soon, that things were backed up in the kitchen due to one of the two fryers being broken. We wondered why he didn't mention this when we placed our order as we would have ordered something other than fish & chips. After another 20 minutes our food finally arrived. My husband bit into his fish and discovered it was cold inside, as was mine. Our waiter took back our food, we waited another 20 minutes before it came back, this time fully cooked. There was no apology for the wait or the undercooked food, and no offer to buy our drinks or give us a free dessert for having to wait so long! We get that things happen, but you've got to take care of your customers. There are a lot of good restaurants in Eugene. We will be going elsewhere next time. read more

We've been back to North Fork a couple of times since my first review. In all honesty, nothing I've tried has truly stood out in a big way. HOWEVER, I did try a bite of my friend's order of the mac and cheese on this last visit and I'd like to say that they have improved on their original recipe, which I mentioned in my 2018 post. The sauce was a sauce and it was quite good. My friend said it was one of the best mac and cheeses they'd had, they just wished it had come in a larger size (and had to option to add bacon or chicken or something). I ordered the frickles (which is just fun to say right?) and the pesto chicken sandwich. The frickles were good, not so salty you couldn't handle it or too breaded that they were soggy or overwhelming. It was just right. The pesto chicken (sans tomato, I'm not a fan) was good, the ciabatta was soft, easy to bite through and didn't dominate the sandwich, as tends to happen. The chicken was well done and it looked good, but again, for something that looked great and seemed like had all the right stuff for it, it wasn't too flavorful. Also, the fries we both received were way too cooked, or had been left out too long or double cooked, I don't know. They were not good. Our server was pleasant and nice, stayed on top of the drinks as much as she could. It was quite surprisingly busy on a Thursday night, we had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. But I still enjoy the ambiance here, they seem to have fixed their issue of playing music way too loud and of the genre more appropriate to a sports bar. That said, it is a weirdly loud space. Just the general chatter seems to carry around the space loudly. read more

Friday afternoon meeting (cancelled) so why not a happy hour for one. Enjoyed the happy hour frickles (fried pickle spears) along with a spicy dip and a couple La Coco's to wash it down. I could of drank the La Coco's all day but 1800 Coconut tequila with fresh lemon and lime juice would have caught up with me eventually. Oh wow, where do I even begin. Went here with the wife for a couple of IPAs and to try the reuben I've heard so much about. Service? Not anything to write home about. But back to the food- I was hunched over the toilet for about 2 hours. Not sure what those numbskulls had done with that corned beef, but it was NOT to the standard of both my stomach and of the FDA. The wife had no complaints, but she was very much livid about the crime scene that had occurred in her bathroom less than ten hours of consuming that beef. Do I recommend? If you like mediocre, overpriced brewery food to the most mild of palates- yes. If you want to not receive food poisoning, please, for all that's on God's green earth, do NOT eat here. - Grover Smalls read more

This review is not was many will expect. We dined here after arriving in Eugene for move in week at UO. Our day started at 4 am to catch our flight. We did stuff and then came for dinner around 6pm. Upon checking in, I may have overheard that that two chefs were a no show. We were not told that and being hungry I decided to ignore. I should not have and after 90 minutes, we were told our food was still 60 minutes out. They then said, it would only be about 35 minutes and the meal would be comped but asked us to leave a tip. We would have of course. We left anyway and settled for a quick stop at grocery outlet. A bottle of wine plus cheese and salami was what the doctor ordered or perhaps the doctor I wished I had. Why 3 stars and not a goose egg.? They apologized. They are working in a tough industry and we're trying. Also, the food looked really good. We will be back during our next visit to see if the food also tastes good if the kitchen is fully staffed. read more

Nice area. We don't live in the neighborhood but sure envy some of those who do! Nice digs in the area. Lots of street parking. Happy hour yesterday till 6. Friendly server Julie but she didn't bring the second beer we ordered till after 6, resulting in regular pricing on that one. Pretzel bites are hardly edible -- the only plus to that was the little blob of brie in the corner of the rectangular serving plate. Frozen pretzel bites for sure, we are willing to bet. The Wedge Salad was a Thing of Glorious Delight with a slight raw garlic tinged dressing. Beers ok. This place is a tad pretentious and serves well as a yuppie watering hole for the well heeled and comfortable. Note: the lighting has likely posed obvious problems for the owners and now for the diners. It's either a glaring bulb directly over your head or large billowy canvas affairs suspended, dotting the black-painted ceiling . Too light or too dark. Either way - not a successful resolution to a fairly simple problem. There are actual lighting specialists who can be called in. Also the music is too loud for the space and who wants to hear Alanis at 6:30 on a Thursday evening blaring overhead. Its overbearing and incongruous with the wine and dine group they hope to court. The single males at the counter for beer or scotch would probably prefer a less obtrusive music especially as they were watching basketball on three large TVs behind the bar. Too many one-offs here for consistent brand. We left after beer and salad. Sought further sustenance elsewhere. read more

I will say the salad and the fries were great...but the fish which was awful and and chips were great lacked a lot to be desired. There was way more breading than there was fish. I wanted fish...not a crusty bunch of breading...which is what I got. Sorry guys this was a total miss for sure. Also we ordered a small order of wings as an appetizer and they were awful also...the wings were totally over cooked. Sorry people not sure I'll visit you again. read more

I gave this review three stars only because people probably don't read one-star reviews. The food was overpriced, "chef-fancy" in presentation, and bland. I had (decent) nachos and the disappointing "Seasonal Pasta" -- which, according to the menu featured "hardy greens" that sounded appetizing but in reality consisted of something resembling a pinch of freeze dried parsley. I am not exaggerating. It was underwhelming, and I'm a dive bar aficionado and not a foodie snob in the least. Disappointing, but not at all worthy of a negative Yelp review. What really turned me off was that the printed invoice suggested a mathematically inaccurate tip calculation, as if they're trying to trick customers who don't do the math into tipping more than they would otherwise. See the photo. To wit: 18% of the $39.50 tab is $7.11, not the $8.10 "suggested" at the bottom of the ticket. The $8 I tipped comes to 20.25%. I couldn't care less about $1. It just that the whole North Fork Public House milieu feels like a bit of an orchestrated sham. A place for the nouveaux riche of Crescent Village to signal their status by being seen overpaying for a mediocre experience, while the servers stroke the customers' egos and mislead them into big tips and the owner rakes in big profits under false pretenses. I won't be going back. read more

North Fork Tavern - My bill with inaccurate, misleading tip percentages - New American Near Me - Eugene, Oregon

been wanting to try this place for years, heard about their amazing cocktails and excellent food, finally stopped in and was brutally disappointed. first off, braving the big screen sports atmosphere and clientele was already asking a lot (possibly the rudest, most inconsiderate customers i've encountered as a patron just observing the crowd, i felt so bad for the hosts and servers). i heard their old fashioned's are the best in town, but when they showed up it was definitely a concoction consisting primarily of old crow or some other harsh, low end whiskey that made my skin crawl. i was so excited to see fried pickles on the menu (frickles) but they came out scalding hot and burned me and my date's mouths to the point where immediate blistering happened. and their steak sandwich was straight up insulting, tiny, slider sized or maybe smaller, somehow flavorless: no salt? i caught myself dipping it in the ketchup for the fries which i would never do to a steak in any normal context: $21??? overall i will not be back and i would not recommend to anyone i wasn't trying to pull a prank on. other pubs tend to have similar menus at similar prices but don't have all the discomforts this one does. im sorry to say it. read more

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place since they opened a few years ago and we FINALLY did. Not sure why it took us so long! They have happy hour all day on Sunday which was an awesome surprise since we visited on a Sunday afternoon. Their fried pickles were really good and were only $5 on the happy hour menu! I've had a lot of fried pickles and these were some of the best. The jalapeño ranch they came with was excellent too! The house salad from the happy hour menu was just meh. I genuinely love salad and am always happy to order it but this one was just so plain. For a side to my fried pickles it was fine though. We also tried both flatbreads and both were good but we were expecting the apples and pears to be baked on, not raw/crisp on top. It was interesting but good! The fries are good, the chicken sandwiches are good- all around it was a good experience. One thing I wasn't expecting was that it had kind of a sports bar atmosphere with large screens (guess I didn't pay enough attention to the Yelp photos). There was a group of guys shouting at a football game the whole time we were there. Not a big deal but I'm just mentioning it so you know that before you go! read more
