They arrived right on time, worked incredibly hard from start to finish, and made our move from one apartment to another smooth and stress-free. They were friendly, courteous, professional, and treated our belongings with great care. They were also patient, respectful, and always willing to help with anything we needed. It's hard to ask for more from a moving company. I would definitely use Family Affair Moving again and highly recommend them--especially Ryan, Maurice, and Mario. Thank you for making what is usually a stressful day such a positive experience!

We had to move suddenly over Thanksgiving weekend and I found Family Affair Moving along with two…read moreother companies. One call to Darlene and I didn't call the others. They provided more movers for the hourly cost than the other two companies and were available. Darlene was kind and amazing, and thorough in asking questions about furniture, packing, pets, and exercise equipment. Things I didn't even consider! Day of the move (Saturday after Thanksgiving) Ryan, Santos, Mario and Amir showed up on time, carefully wrapped all of our furniture with either blankets or plastic wrap. The asked questions about where things should go, and questions about how to assemble or disassemble things. This is our third move, and we are not as young as we were with our last move. We had to make two trips, but it was still within budget. Next move, I'll call them again, and pay for packing (which we thought we could do on our own in our 50s!) Book this place and don't go anywhere else! Thank you to everyone for our amazing team and the seemless move.

We just used Simple Moving Company and couldn't be happier. From the initial quote to the final box…read morebeing carried in, everything was smooth and professional. Alexy and his guys showed up on time, worked efficiently, and treated our belongings like their own, nothing was scratched, dented, or missing. They took extra care wrapping furniture and were careful navigating tight doorways and stairs. Communication was great throughout, so we always knew what to expect. Moving is stressful enough, and this team made it so much easier. Highly recommend Simple Moving Company, and especially Alexy's crew, to anyone looking for a reliable, hardworking moving team.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I felt it was important to share my experience…read more Unfortunately, I left this move feeling frustrated and with the impression that the job was not handled efficiently. At my previous apartment, we stayed for a while to make sure everything was going smoothly before driving to our new place. When we left, the crew appeared to have already moved the majority of our belongings out. It took us about 40 minutes to drive to the new apartment, plus another 20 minutes to get settled and make sure our cat was safe. An hour after we had left, I received a call saying they had just finished loading the truck and were only then heading to our new apartment. Given how much had already been completed before we left, that timeline didn't make sense to me and left me questioning how efficiently the remaining work was being done. Another frustrating part of the experience was that, at both the pickup and delivery locations, the movers repeatedly asked me where they should park the moving truck. I don't drive commercial moving trucks, and I hired professionals because I expected them to know how to handle those logistics. I was also told that if they received a parking ticket, I would be responsible for paying it, which I found unreasonable. Once they arrived at the new apartment, the pace continued to feel unnecessarily slow. There were multiple trips carrying only one or two small items at a time. Eventually, my partner and I started helping unload our own belongings because we wanted to get the move finished. We also noticed several bathroom breaks throughout the job, which only added to the feeling that the process was taking much longer than necessary. The final interaction left a bad impression as well. I fully intended to leave a tip for good service, but before I even had the chance, one of the movers repeatedly asked for cash after I had already explained that I didn't have any. Being pressured for a tip at the end of an already disappointing experience felt unprofessional. Moving is already stressful, and I hired professionals hoping to make the day easier. Instead, I left feeling that the job took much longer than it should have, communication was poor, and the overall experience did not justify the cost. I can't recommend this company based on my experience.

At this point, I'm not even sure if this is a legitimate business or if all of the other reviews…read moreare fake. I was referred to this company by someone I know. Turns out they didn't have direct experience with the company, and it was a secondhand referral. The owner, Tim, answered my initial call where I inquired about a moving quote. After that, no phone calls were answered again. Calls went to voicemail and I received texts in return - several hours later. We set up a virtual inspection for the day after the initial call. After it was completed I was told I'd receive an estimate. When I finally received the estimate I had a couple of questions about things on there, so I texted the owner. He said he would make the adjustments and suddenly when I got the new quote there were additional or different charges, effectively making the amount about the same as the initial quote. But the price was still going to be better than some other quotes we received, so I wasn't too concerned about it and decided to proceed. I accepted the invoice and waited to receive the link to pay the deposit. This is where things got weird. The deposit payment request was for an amount that didn't equate to half of the estimate I received. I texted Tim asking if he could explain where that amount came from. He said it should have been for 50% of the quote. Within a few minutes, I see that the link had updated and now reflected the 50% that I expected to see. I brushed it off as a simple error and tried to pay the deposit via the link I was sent. The link appeared to come from Chase (where I also bank), but kept giving me an error message when I clicked "Pay by Card". Right away I notified Tim and even sent screenshots of the error I was receiving. I kept trying - on my phone, my laptop, but nothing was working. I notified Tim and he said he'd get back to me after looking into what was going on, but he never did. I tried to follow up once more today, and received no response Obviously, I can't wait any longer to find out whether or not this will work out as we are only a few days away from our move. So now I have to scramble to hopefully book a different service in time for our move this weekend. I can only assume one of two things must be true based on this experience - 1. a higher paying job came along and instead of cancelling ours, they ghosted until we were the ones that had to give up and let them off the hook or 2. this company is a scam, and they never had any intention of showing up in the first place. Oh, and I looked them up on the Secretary of State's site. Their business license has been suspended since 11/2024. Do not give this company your time or money.
