Nori serves excellent food. Every dish that we ordered was flavorful and had a great serving size. Some recommendations of ours include yaki soba, unagi roll, red curry and green curry. We also had house sake (served warm) which was an enjoyable way to begin dinner. The restaurant is small and intimate with beautiful wall murals. The owner came to speak to us and he was so kind. There is a bar seating area but no place for you legs so that's a bit awkward. Then there is sushi bar seating which is nice. The place also has tables and booths. From the outside we thought this was a little more upscale but when you go inside it's a casual dining atmosphere. But that being said it was really good. The service was great, the waiter was very personable & knowledgeable about the menu. He wasn't intrusive but there when you wanted something. The food was really good all around which given the size of their menu is surprising. We had sushi, poke bowl, fried rice & a beef dish of some type. Nori is one of our go to lunch spots. We have not visited for dinner but have been around 8 times for lunch. Lunch service is hit or miss when it comes to service but on average it is quick throughout. Only twice have we left thinking this could have gone better. Normally it's a miss at check time not during food and drink service time. Now for the best part...the food!! I'm going to be honest my favorite is the build your own poke bowl. It's the ultimate in my opinion get everything you want!!! I order the regular bowl and it's still always too much for me to finish. My husband gets the large. My husband and I were craving sushi but the kiddos were asleep; so we decided to do a call in order and pick up food. Everyone has been talking about Nori so we figured we would give them a try. They make it very easy to order if you are dining out: by phone or online through their website. We called in the order by phone, the hostess was friendly and even offered suggestions. We were advised that it would take about 25 minutes, they also offer curbside pick up. We ordered the Nori wings, calamari, (8) piece spicy tuna roll, (8) piece jalapeno yellowtail roll, (4) piece California roll, (4) Miami roll, and the American tuna roll. My favorite based on flavor would be the Nori wings. They were cooked well and had lots of flavor. I thought a bit too much sauce but my husband loves that. While the rolls were what we were craving they didn't really hit the spot for us. I think for me it is the additional dollops of sauce put on top of the rolls. With everything we ordered our bill was close to $70. This was our first visit and carry out, we are willing to try them out again but in person. read more

The spicy tuna tartar isn't something I would order again. It had a very peculiar, overpowering smoky flavor that did not compliment the dish and we could barely taste the fish. We actually asked them to make it spicier because it wasn't spicy at all when it came out. I also think it should be served with wonton chips or something to eat it with, but it came out by itself which seemed a little odd. For dinner, we shared the Fuji, Miami and Crunchy Whitefish rolls. I love that they give you the option to get the classic rolls in different sizes (4 or 8 pieces). I think this is a great idea if you're wanting to try a few rolls. The fish and ingredients were super fresh and the rolls had great flavor! I will definitely come back here as I feel something Jax lacks is quality sushi places, and Nori meets the mark! Great menu selection though. My mom likes the phili roll of course, and honestly I love how they don't put a hefty amount of rice and you actually get the taste of the food. So REALLY loved that. Garlic Edamame was great! Perfect amount of garlic and the spicy was just a spicy seasoning which I thought fit really well! Nigiri- Otoro was delicious, at first I was like why is this tuna brown, but I asked the chef they put this Nigiri sauce on it and it was DELICIOUS. They also have different fat levels like Akami, which I definitely will have to try later. And the salmon was fresh! Gold digger roll. First off , yes that's gold, but THE FLAVOR, wow! So good! And the Nori roll was so good too! Definitely recommend both of these. And again not a lot of rice which makes me focus more on the fresh and good quality of the fish. It was good! We were trying to pay with card at first, but after that long wait, my fiancé got fed up and switched to cash so that we could just leave right away. The food was not too bad. (Appetizers) Calamari: 2/5. It seemed kind of powdery when you bite into it & it was chewier than other places I have been to. I love calamari so unfortunately, this was put pretty low on my list of favorite calamari. Krab Rangoon: 3/5. Different kind of filling than I'm used to. This also had a slight powdery taste to it, but not as much as the calamari did. The crunchiness was there. (Main Entree) Steak hibachi: 3.8/5. Loved the plain fried rice. Vegetables were mostly carrots & I hate carrots, so I couldn't enjoy the veggies as much as I would have liked to. The portion of the meat could have been better as well. I don't ever write reviews but this experience was just so disappointing. I was in town visiting my parents and craving sushi, so my partner and I decided to go up the road here & it was the biggest waste of 60$... The tuna tartare was literally a giant ball of mushed tuna (what they use to stuff the tuna rolls) with 3 slices of tiny avocado slapped on top & this was in no way tuna tartare... I politely sent it back after we tried like 2 bites and the server only comped half of it from the bill. The sushi was all rubbery and tasted old, (should have known this wasn't going to be fresh or authentic from the kale they used as garnish lol) my stomach was hurting/cramping for the rest of the evening. The server was nice enough but we were clearly ready to go, not touching our food and disappointed, they were all just standing around talking at the bar. Not a good look after it took 10 minutes for someone to come to the table, especially when the restaurant was basically empty. They could really make this a nice place but this was a hugeeee miss. Leaving my second review. After trying Nori in person and receiving refrigerator cold wings as an appetizer we gave it one more chance for take out. Waited close to 10 minutes on hold, I called back an got my order placed. Upon arrival, I expected a packed restaurant. Only 5 filled tables and 3 wait staff walked right by me without a acknowledgement. After waiting 5 minutes in a half empty restaurant, someone finally assisted me. Avoid this place. Service is really bad and food is just okay. Yummy Bistro down the street is hands down better in all areas, to bad they are closed on Monday and I got stuck eating at Nori.
