When I drive up the 101 on my way to Santa Barbara or anywhere north of LA passing thru Oxnard. I like to stop by this Rack. First because it use to have great Free People selection. Side note: Sorry that is my favorite brand and I am a bit biased in how I rate the racks because of this brand. but I still love me sum rack for other stuff. This time that I stopped by the selection of Free people was minimal and so were the Spring dresses. i understand they were probably in transition from one season to another. By far the cleanest, most orderly, and least chaotic (in terms of clientele) Nordstrom Rack that I have ever been to! Although a bit on the smallish side as far as Racks go, on a recent visit, I was quite surprised that the place wasn't an absolute clustercuss like most of the other branches up and down this great state of ours. Just the mere fact that clothing isn't strewn about in every which direction earns this location mondo points. I can't comment on the quality of the women's clothing, but according to the favorite Yelper, their selection is fairly decent. The men's section is a bit paltry, but at the very least, everything is where it is supposed to be. Since this is close to the beach, the assortment of shorts and t-shirts is quite ample, while jeans, jackets, and long sleeved shirts are extremely limited. However, the real shining star here is the shoe department. The favorite Yelper was able to locate a pair of Stuart Weitzman boots normally running $400+ retail for less than $100! For me, I have never been a huge fan of the footwear at the Rack simply because I have never been able to find anything worth mentioning... until now. Lo and behold, I was merely killing time while the favorite Yelper was using the restroom, and out of the corner of my eye, I spotted an almost pristine pair of my favorite retro kicks - Air Max 90 - in my size and a sweet colorway! And for only $45! You know I couldn't walk out of the store without those babies on my hind paws. I've actually passed by this store on numerous occasion on my frequent trips to and from SoCal, but this was the first time I actually took the time to drop by. Needless to say, from now on, this Nordstrom Rack will be penciled in as a must hit pitstop, either on the way down or back home. read more

Well worth the travel time and headache over L.A. traffic. The store itself is pretty immaculate and had an amazing selection of shoes, purses, clothing and everything in between. I love when stores are organized, it keeps me sane. And I value what I have left of my sanity. Despite the long line of people waiting to purchase, it moved swiftly and staff was friendly. Not much to not like about a Nordstrom Rack. This one is fairly large and clean and for once not that full. Also not as picked over and sorted well, which is a nice change over all the LA locations where you cannot find anything under a size 6. Plenty of parking and a TJ Maxx next door, I'd be back all the time if it wasn't so out of the way for me. read more

I went looking for a casual medium weight jacket with a hood. Went straight back to the jackets. I found 3 different styles. Grabbed the one with the hood and it was the right length-- not too long, and it went with jeans not dresses. No line at checkout. I paid and was out of there!! read more

Obviously there are beautiful clothes, shoes and accessories here, but I was not impressed with the prices at all. In fact I was pretty disappointed It's unfortunate because it's main attraction was that you can find great deals on designer clothes, but that's not the impression I got at all :( Like get over yourself Nordstrom it's pretty clear to see you hike prices up before discounting, and the discounts are still super expensive. I love Nordstrom! But this is probably the last time I visit this store. I came in with my husband shopping for a wedding. We were checking out at the register and I was about to slide my husbands card when the cashier Raquel H. Was so loud and rude to ask, "Who's card is that, you look like a little a girl!" Clearly my husband is standing next to me counting I have shopped many times and never not once was asked to state if it was my card or not. I felt so embarrassed I also work in retail and she could've been professional about it. I felt like I was put on the spot she could've just asked for an ID. Even after we showed ID she continue to make fun of the fact that I didn't look my age. Their is a reason why I shop at Nordstrom and not Walmart. If I'm going to get treated like this then what's the point of having a Nordstrom credit card. I hope they train their employees better. read more

This is a pretty nice Nordstrom Rack. They get their stock from the lovely folks of LA's many Nordstrom's. If you like high end clothing at great prices then a Rack is just what your wallet desires. This location is a medium size Rack but still had a great selection. The wife always finds some great deals she just can't live without. I usually find a pair or 2 of Cole Hann's or Bruno Magli's that I must have. This visit I found a great pair of Cole Hann sneakers in blue leather that were a 1/3 of their original price. What a great deal! Well worth the time trolling through shoes to get this amazing deal. Gotta love the Rack! read more

Nordstrom Rack carries all of the leftovers from the Nordstrom stores at a discounted rate....not that the prices are always that discounted. In fact, at times I cringe at the price tag. I guess I just expect the "leftovers" to cost significantly less since everyone has already discarded the thought of purchasing most of these items in the main stores. So, they are written off and then sent over to these stores to bring in more money on top of the write off. Maybe a little more of a discount would be nice. I can buy Lucky Jeans for $100 anywhere...and paying $75 at a Nordstrom Rack for the leftover look is almost insulting. Just saying.... However, not everything is like that. I have found some great shoes with great mark downs, so I continue to go there just for that reason alone. AT times I get so caught up in the shoe section that an hour will pass by without it even phasing me. =0) The store has public bathrooms, so if you're a hardcore shopper like me---that's always nice to know!!! I know a guy writing a review on Nordstroms may seem a little weird, but since my wife has dragged my in here too many times to mention, and seeing as I have endured this trial, I may as well impart my knowledge if it can benefit any other members of the male race. ( Does that sentence qualify as the longest sentence recorded in history?) If you like name brands on the cheap, this is the place too look. They still have Lucky Jeans for $80 which does not seem like a deal to me, but there are deal to be had. I like Ben Sherman allot, and they have his stuff on sale. The suit selection is also pretty good, I picked up a really sporty Blazer on sale for $110, usual price was $250. They have a great tie selection, and dress shirts as well. Its nice to be able to get a complete suit there, shirt, tie, suit, shoes, etc. They even have a on site Tailor, but I go to Victors for that. Excellent shoe selection. The bags are really limited lately- used to be better about a year ago. I just noticed 2 weeks ago that they started selling Kensie- which I love! So, that was exciting! I also buy all of my workout clothes here- particularly great prices on Nike. I also recommend the Calvin Klein pillows for only $10- so comfy. Items here come and go pretty quickly, so don't think you can come back later and get it. I thought that with a cool wallet. I went back the next day and all 3 were gone. Coulda, woulda, shoulda... The line can get pretty long, but it usually moves pretty fast. So, don't avoid your purchase just b/c of the long line..they'll get you checked out quickly. read more

Nordstrom Rack has some pretty great deals if you have the time to look. I am a pretty average size so for me I have to sometimes pay full retail price when I fall in love with something because it most likely will not be around when a sale comes along. This location isn't the biggest store I have been to, but they have plenty of clothes for men and women (they lack on the household and accessories but there is tj maxx next door for that) I prefer going during the week, I find the store to be neater and more organized than on weekends. The shoe section has to be my favorite especially when I get a deal like 50% off! read more

What's not to like about Nordstrom Rack? It's a high end Ross, a more classy Marshall's... It's Nordstrom's for the middle class. For me this is always a great place to pick up a good pair of shoes, or two, and find a nice gift. It's consistently cleaner then the TJ Maxx types and usually has a much wider size selection for the clothing items they carry. The good thing about this particular Nordstrom Rack is that if you don't find what you're looking for or it seems a little too pricy, you can always walk down the way to TJ Maxx and treat yourself to a little L&L BBQ with the money you saved. Final Word Try it. It won't be as cheap as its competitors but the pros (service and selection) greatly outweigh the cons. read more

This place is interesting. I, a plus size gentleman had more luck finding clothes than my normal size mother! The prices were odd too, so much so, that we played a little game, grabbing the most ridiculous outfits off the rack and playing a 'price is right' game. By the end of it, I did find a quicksilver sweatshirt that fit surprisingly well. If you do a lot of digging through all of it, you may find something good. read more

This location always has a good selection of merchandise compared to other stores. I think the other stores get a different type of clientele that are quick to pick up quality high end merchandise quickly, which may not be the case for this store since there seems to usually be an abundance of really good sale items - that are not just the picked over left overs of ravenous bargain shoppers (like some of the other southern CA stores). I always seem to find some pretty good deals here. read more

What I love even more than the tremendous savings on so many designer brands is that this place seems to be off the beaten path for many, so its never crowded and I always find stuff in my size :) read more

First I want to say that I love Nordstrom's Rack. I think everybody likes Nordstrom's Rack, great deals. However I recently bought a pair of shoes there and after wearing them only 3 weeks the buckle on the strap broke I contacted Nordstrom's Rack about the broken strap and how I felt it was a defect and not normal wear and tear. They declined to assist me in any way. They would not take the shoe back or reimburse me for the repair of shoe. This doesn't seem like a typical norstrom's refund/ return situation and I'm very disappointed that my awesome new shoes have to have even more money invested in them and that Nordstrom's Rack does not stand behind their products. read more

I really like this Nordstrom rack.. especially when they have their red tag events. I bought a nice BCBG Max Azria dress shirt here that was tagged for 80 dollars or so for 14.99!! The people who work here are pretty nice as well. I went once though the day before christmas eve and the line went back all the way near the Men's fitting rooms.. and I felt like I was in line for a roller coaster. Made me question whether or not what I was buying was really worth it.. but by the time my indecisive self came to a decision I was already near the women's intimate apparel so I decided to stick it out.. Most times I've been here though I've walked out empty handed, but I think thats ok (esp for my wallet), I just like to see if I can find another great deal. read more

I randomly hit the Nordstrom Rack a few times a year. It's truly a treasure hunt experience. It's probably not the spot to shop to get that specific article of clothing you need but rather an option to supplement the wardrobe you already have. Plan on spending some time shopping, sifting and sorting through the ever rotating inventory to find a designer piece that is just right for you.
