Camarillo Premium Outlets has changed a lot through the years. Midnight Black Friday shopping is a…read moregreat memory for our kids. Although those days are long gone, and many of the stores that made it "premium" are no longer here, it's better than most. There are still some good deals. It's also fairly large so you'll spend a decent amount of time walking through every section. We're usually shopping for something specific -- today it's jeans for the husband. But we always end up with more than planned. :) We browsed through many of the stores, spending much of our time at Lucky Brand, Levi's, Lululemon, adidas, The North Face and Ralph Lauren. We got the best deal on jeans at Levi's and surprisingly found a nice lightweight sweater for him at Lululemon. We like to grab a light snack or drink treat while we shop. Wetzel's Pretzels is a favorite but today we discovered that Boba Time has joined the outlets! Overall, it was a really nice day. I realized when we left that I missed going to Pottery Barn! We'll need to start on that side next time.

JOE'S JEANS & SEVEN FOR ALL MANKIND ARE GONE!…read more I'm really disappointed because I drove down to Camarillo from Santa Barbara to go to Joes jeans and Seven jeans specifically. And yes, I checked the outlet website before I left for hours and it appeared that both stores were active and open. When I arrived, Joes was simply gone. I went over to the kiosk map to check and it was still listed in its usual location. But it had been replaced by another store, Reformation, I believe. An employee of the outlets walked by and said I looked confused and told me the map hadn't been updated in a minute. Disappointed, I then went over to Seven, which was also gone! Replaced by Fabletics, I think. The point is that Joes and Seven are still listed on the outlet website and they are still listed in the on-site kiosks as active stores. Not only am I disappointed that a few of my favorite stores are just gone like that, but I'm especially disappointed at the glaring lack of communication that lead to an entire afternoon being wasted. The outlets otherwise appear to be going down hill. I don't think I'll be back after this.

With nothing really planned today, we took the scenic drive from SCV to Oxnard to finally explore this outdoor mall and have lunch. Very well-maintained and thoughtfully designed, it turned out to be a great experience! There's a good number of stores of different sizes to shop and browse, Target, Century Theaters, Bowlero, park/playground, community areas with games, restaurants and food court. After our lunch we decided to sit at the park area to enjoy the cool cloudy day while watching kids roll around in the grass, people with their dogs and families engaging with each other. After that and some shopping, we ended up spending more time that we expected to. There's more than enough parking all around the mall and in the Target structure. We plan on visiting more often.

The place feels really lively and exciting in a way that teenagers would enjoy a lot because everywhere you look there is something happening with people hanging out, music drifting from different stores, bright colors from the shops, and that warm open air feeling that makes you want to stay longer than you planned. I noticed right away that there were a lot of teenagers there just walking around with their friends, taking pictures, getting snacks, and enjoying the freedom of having so many things to do in one spot. What surprised me the most was how easy it was to have fun there without needing to spend a lot of money or rush from one thing to another. Even just sitting outside near the fountains or the little seating areas felt relaxing and playful at the same time. The decorations and the way the whole place is designed make it feel almost like a small town inside a shopping center which is perfect for teenagers who love taking fun photos or just exploring a place that feels safe and welcoming. I did not realize how much there was to enjoy there until I walked around and saw how many different stores, restaurants, and hangout spots were tucked into the area. I really appreciated how comfortable it felt to just wander around without feeling pressured to buy anything. The atmosphere made it easy to enjoy the moment and I never doubted that the experience was going to turn out the way I hoped it would. I only visited The Collection Riverpark one time in my life before making this review but it left a strong impression on me because of how lively and youthful the whole place felt. It reminded me of the kind of environment where teenagers can feel creative, social, and free to be themselves. It was one of the most enjoyable and energetic outdoor shopping areas I have been to in a long time and I would highly recommend that even teenagers go there because it gives them a place to have fun, take pictures, walk around with their friends, and feel inspired by everything happening around them.

I have been lucky finding some great deals on shoes-- Like new Danskos and Toms. I feel like retail businesses end up donating here, I do tend to see Toms shoes come through a lot. The clothing prices can range from average baseline prices similar (or lower) to Goodwill but some items may have unusually high prices. It's hard to gauge. I did see many clothing items that were stained or looked very worn and were still priced semi higher than expected. HOWEVER, what I want to focus on is the main nonprofit-- Rescue Mission Alliance. They run programs for women and men who are needing shelter due to domestic violence, trafficking, or difficult unhoused situations. People who commit to their programs are allowed to shop at this store for free, so donations do in effect go directly to the people in their shelter programs. So I want to commend the store and nonprofit for their directly giving back donations to their participants via vouchers. I also recommend that this is a great local nonprofit to give your donations to (more purposeful than dropping off at Goodwills)
