So I always pass by here but never gave it a chance until recently. Wow! I was really impressed and lucked out to get an indoor table inside Nordstrom. Ideal place to hang out and chill. I'm used to a strong dark bitter taste that had a mixture of smoothness to the cold brew that I usually drink but this one was just very ver smooth! Very easy to drink and it felt light. I have grown fond of this coffee bar. It's on the extreme end of the Ala Moana Center. Seating is limited inside, but there are lots of tables right outside. I really wanted to like this place because their coffee is pretty good. The failure here was their food preparation because I got food poisoning, and particularly disheartening was the utter lack of empathy and emotional intelligence exhibited by their "Specialty Coffee Manager", Kendra Marquez. So on a recent visit to eBar at Nordstrom Ala Moana, I ordered their "chicken pasta alfredo" for $8.50. Notwithstanding the fact that it came in a tiny container similar in size to a side order of KFC small cole slaw, the food made me violently ill. Now I don't have a sensitive stomach. I think the last time I threw up something was a few *decades* ago. So there was definitely something wrong with the food at eBar. It was the ONLY thing I ate that day so my illness could not be attributed to anything else. When I initially reported it to someone there, by phone, a few days later, I asked to speak to manager so that similar incidents wouldn't affect other patrons. Kendra called me back and though she took the time to listen, she was far more intent on gathering the facts for her protocol and incident report, and to relay them to the kitchen, than to truly appreciate the sickening effect their product had on me. Some advice to this manager -- she may know "specialty coffee" but she needs some tips on handling customers because: 1. There was never an apology from her about what I experienced which was, quite frankly, a violent illness. There was zero empathy. Customer Service 101 should have taught her that as lesson #1. 2. There was never an initiative to offer, at minimum, a refund for the product that sickened me.  It was only offered when I asked. Why would it have been acceptable to her, for even a moment, to charge me for a product that made me sick? I hope she can deal better with future customers who report similar incidents like this. A simple, "I am so sorry that your experience with us was less than optimal as we strive to meet or exceed handling and sanitation standards.  Will you please allow me to refund you for the purchase of the product?" would have been appropriate. What would have been the icing on the cake was something beyond that like, "May I also offer you the chance to return for a free latte on us?" That would have all but assured my return. But for now, my experience at eBar at Nordstrom Ala Moana and with Ms. Marquez have left a horribly unsavory taste in my mouth (and in my stomach)! read more

I have been coming here constantly for the past 2.5 years because of their amazing Iced Caramel Macchiatos and Açaí Bowls. The quality of their caramel macchiato is so much better than Starbucks. Yes, it does cost more ($7.59 for a large) but the flavor and caffeine is definitely THERE! After coming consistently for a month and ordering the same thing, they start my drink as I enter their store. I noticed that they know many of their customers and already have an idea of what they are ordering. I love that. So much attention to detail. Really disappointed that dogs aren't allowed in the eBar anymore, but they're allowed to walk around Nordstrom. I hate sitting outside when it's hot and getting a table inside is a big score, especially if it's against the wall and Komori is out of the way and not causing a mess. In fact, we have been here MANY, MANY times with no complaint, The staff WAS very welcoming to him. Since some of your staff met him, they know he hasn't caused any trouble at Nordstrom. Guess that's what happens when you guys loose some pretty key employees. I could rely on you guys to give Komori a nice cold floor to chill after walking around in hot Hawaii weather, but not anymore. It sucks that one bad apple spoils the bunch. On a rare visit to Ala Moana Center during COVID, a friend requested to meet here. At first we agreed on the Makai Food Court but after I had parked my car, I received a text asking to change the venue to Nordstrom Ebar Artisan Coffee (NEAC). I don't ever recall ever going to Nordstrom so I had to check out the map to navigate myself. Located on the Ewa side of Ala Moana Center on the 3rd floor, just by the Nordstrom entrance is a small coffee shop that offers assorted hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, cookies, pastries, salads and acai bowls. It was mid-afternoon and we were both not hungry. It's been some time since we last saw each other so we opted for a drink to enjoy while utilizing their outdoor seating. I chose the strawberry lemonade and my friend initially chose the blend coffee but was advised it would take about 5-7 mins so she ended up with the Americano. After paying for the drinks, we waited on the side with other patrons for about 5 mins before we got our drinks. We took them outside and sat on one of the outdoor tables on a clear afternoon. For my strawberry lemonade, it had a great balance between sweet and tangy. There was a slice of lemon and strawberry seeds evidenced in my cup. To my liking, it was slightly tarter than sweet. My friend seemed to enjoy her hot cup of coffee as she finished it up. Overall, a positive first experience at NEAC where I wouldn't mind coming back again. We all needed some coffee, so we thought it was a good idea to check out Nordstrom Ebar! **What I ordered ~ *4 Espresso Shots & 4 White Mocha Pumps (10/10) Clearly my order was not on the menu, normally where ever I go for coffee I get this, because it helps me wake up pretty quick! Great place to unwind. On the third floor Nordstrom entrance, is this really tiny coffee shop. Think Starbucks (I know you read those reviews) without all the college students. They don't really have any signature drinks or baked items. Just a place to grab a some hot or ice coffee, tea, or a smoothie. They offer light snacks. That day I went there was only a couple of lemon bars and a couple of different muffins. Outdoor seating is now open so you can unwind after all the walking you just did. Overall four stars. Been coming here when I'm on this side of the mall and it's hit or miss with the drinks. Today I asked for a flat white. And after taking a couple sips, I open my cup to see that this is pretty much a cappuccino with a thick layer of foam. A coffee bar that my 4 year old son picked out. He wanted to sit at the tables outside to eat his snacks, so I kinda had to buy something to justify using the tables. Luckily I was pleasantly surprised! I tried their hot mocha latte and now I'm a weekly regular. The chocolate is not too sweet and not too milky. I can still taste the espresso. It's all a matter of taste. Starbucks mocha is like a milk shake. Ebar's mocha latte has a nice balance. They have pretty good snacks too. Despite the many tragedies (& inconveniences) caused by the COVID pandemic, there have been a few silver lining moments, and our family's morning walks are one of those upsides. Now that the malls are open again, we've added Ala Moana to our rotation of walking-spots, and our favorite time to go is early in the morning, before the stores even open. Ebar is a regular stop for us, because they open at 9 am--though we were surprised by a 9:30 am opening once, so times might vary--and they have the only nice seating area that's currently available outside of the food courts. Nowadays, public seating areas area really a luxury, so it's great to have the nice tables & chairs to sit at, shaded by large canopy umbrellas. We've only ordered the smoothies here, but we've had them all, and all of them are yummy!! Quick tip: If you want a larger size smoothie, get the pina colada, acai berry, or chocolate hazelnut. We're not sure why, but for some reason those flavors only come in "large" size, whereas all the other flavors only come in a smaller size (maybe those have more fresh fruit??), for the same price. The staff is also great about splitting the large size smoothies into 2 cups for us--so each kid can have their own--AND they'll even coat the cup with strawberry puree for you, to make a "lava flow" version! So if you're looking for a clean, comfortable place to sit outdoors, with nice surroundings, yummy smoothies and excellent customer service, maybe this is the place for you...it definitely is for me! read more

Pleasant service, but my iced late was truly terrible. Costing almost $7 I expected something decent, but the espresso was extremely bitter and over extracted. The milk did little to cover it up. I watched the barista prepare a hot drink and she steamed the milk for far too long undoubtedly burning the sugars and ruining the drink. It did not seem to be a lack of caring, but rather a lack of training. I hope they can do better in the future. (For reference I have worked in coffee for over 10 years) read more

I stopped by on 12/9/17, at 9:00a, just before the shops would be opening at 9:30a, and bought a Lavender Chai Latte, before going to do my Christmas shopping. The service was quick. It was great to have the option of sitting inside or outside, overlooking the mall. I sat outside enjoying the cool morning. This is a great area to socialize, with friends, or people watch, as you enjoy a hot or cold drink, before shopping. There are muffins, granola and yogurt parfaits, and breakfast items, as well. I recently came here to grab a quick green smoothie and not a coffee. Shocking........ It was my first time patronizing Ebar of all the years it has been at the mall. I ordered the green smoothie which had avocado and super green inside which are really good for you.........=) I found the Ebar to be fast and simple to order during today's environment. They have designated standing and waiting areas for guest in their small foot space. The outside seating is a nice place to lounge and people watch. Did you folks know there is a coffee / tea type of cafe in Nordstrom? I was hangin' with my sister today, as she had to exchange an item at Nordstrom when I mentioned that I was a little thirsty. Upon walking around, I noticed this little coffee/tea cafe within the Nordstrom called the - Ebar. The little cafe/tea cafe kinda reminds me of a smaller scale Starbucks type of joint. The Ebar at Nordstrom sells coffee, teas, smoothies, gelato, as well as some salads, sandwiches and wraps, and a few cookies & pastries. Upon walking into the cafe, I decided to get a Pomegranate Iced Tea, and a Chocolate Chip Cookie to share with my sister. My sister got a Pomegranate Lemonade. The stuff here is kinda pricey, but it's probably the going rate for any high quality coffee/tea cafe. There is covered outside seating, as well as some indoor seating inside the cafe. Great place to pick up a quick bite or caffeine hit. I love the BBQ chicken salad - it's very substantial even though it doesn't look like it. I usually get the dark cherry vinaigrette although I actually use my ranch at home or work. The vinaigrette is so good with plain salads or to dip crudites in. The lemon pasta salad is also very good but not as good for you as the BBQ chicken. read more

I'm not an expert coffee drinker. I can't handle too much caffeine, but I found my new favorite drink here. I love the Black and White Mocha, iced, with oat milk, one shot of expresso, no whipped cream. It just tastes delicious. People are nice and the drink is made quickly. Croissant day! I was in the mood for some flaky goodness & dropped by to buy ham & cheese croissants and a chocolate croissant. The chocolate croissant contained good quality chocolate. I wish there was more of it, but who doesn't always want more chocolate? The ham & cheese croissant made a great breakfast. Next time, if I have time to cook, I'll add an egg. Highly underrated! I always look forward to grabbing a drink at Ebar.  Located at Nordstrom's 2nd level mall entrance/exit, Ebar is a bit like a grab and go, but there is a nice outdoor seating area if you choose to stick around - great for hanging out, reading a book, or just taking a break after walking around the mall. The staff is always pleasant and they crank out drinks like it's nobody's business - big plus is they do it all without compromising the quality!  I appreciate their strong coffees, delicate teas/tea lattes (especially a good London Fog), and refreshing spritzers. Royal Cookie. The best cookie in the mall. My Top 3 cookie of all time. For this cookie you must love chocolate chips, macadamia nuts & coconut. It is soft with perfect density; not for the crispy cookie lovers. Ever since Nordstrom moved to the Ewa end of the mall the Royal Cookie has been an elusive, unattainable treat because on the rare few times I've checked it's never available. This cookie was formerly known as the Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookie. Royal Cookie is sooo much easier to say. For this reason alone I love the name change. So like the early bird adage I decided to have breakfast after running some errands. The last time I had this cookie was at Nordstrom's old location at Marketplace Cafe. I don't think Ruscello has this on their menu either and it's so unfortunate that it's an Ebar exclusive. To go with my cookie I got a double shot Iced Macchiato which was perk me up strong. Kinda pricey but on par with other coffee joints. It could've used more ice which was easily fixable. Lots of alfresco tables and chairs in front of the coffee bar and around three or four indoor tables that's too close together for my liking. But hey at least there's air conditioning indoors. I'll return for the occasional Royal Cookie treat. I only wish it was available at all hours of operations because it is not. And this thought alone makes me a little sad. I discovered the Nordstrom eBar back when I was still a grad student. It was a typical busy, blazing hot weekday at Ala Moana and I was on the prowl for an empty table at a coffee house (Starbucks, Barnes and Noble, anywhere in the mall with a table and in the shade - preferably with A/C). All the Starbucks were packed and I learned awhile ago that Barnes and Noble Cafe is always packed too - so I didn't even look there. Then, I saw shaded, open tables...okay. Is this a mirage? Nope. It is the Nordstrom eBar. Now, even back then I was a die hard Starbucks fan, but I was willing to forego Starbucks if I can get one of the open tables (they even have the soft, cushion-y chairs to sit at too!). However, I don't know what to order since I have never been there before. It was super hot and I wanted a refreshing drink, so I opted for a sparkling drink instead of coffee. I had their sparkling pomegranate lemonade...and it was so refreshing and delicious. More tart than sweet with carbonation (bubbles!) from club soda. It was one of my favorite drinks to get, but I no longer see it on the menu (maybe I can re-create it since it looks like they still have the ingredients to make it). When I went to the eBar yesterday, I tried a new drink - the sparking hibiscus tea. I was a little scared that it would have a strong floral taste to it, but the cashier was very helpful when I was asked him to describe the drink. He was very patient with me, even though the line was building behind me. The drink was good - it was tart with bubbles (due to the club soda). I could not taste any floral ingredient in the drink, so my fear was negated. I liked it, but still like the sparkling pomegranate lemonade more. read more

Located on the 2nd floor, Ebar has ample covered lanai seating, decent selection of pastries and remade salads. For health nuts eating clean, there are hard boiled eggs and bananas available (and pre-made salads). The pastry items also have the calorie info on the label. I love it when restaurants do that! The chocolate croissant was good and the barista recommended the banana bread (she says they normally sell out of most items). I got the cold brew - Kona Coffee which was smooth and perfectly rich. Great place to work on your laptop (the tables outside are huge! Lots of work room!), catch up with friends, or just relax and enjoy the trade winds from the second floor! read more
