The Pink Bearista Glass Cup released today. I had the mister drive me to the Safeway Starbucks down the street at 6:30am, but they were sold out of the cup. The guy said that they sold out 10 minutes after they opened. I was not deterred. I looked on my FaceBook and people were posting what locations had them. So, I made my hubby drive me to this Nuuanu location. We got here around 6:45am and they had some cups left. I was relieved. I can stop hunting those bear cups now, lol. Since we were there early and I didn't have to be at work until later, we had breakfast there. We got our coffee, tea and pastries. I was just so happy that I got my hands on the bear cup. Almost $8 my drink, they get me 80% cup of ice. Try call the store and let them know and the phone is never answer.

After hiking stop by for coffee an a quick bite. It's very convenient right off H1 and the Pali hwy. The seating and space is larger than many of the Starbucks I've stop in. Places order for coffee and turkey bacon egg breakfast sandwich on English muffin. It was served hot and tasty. The placement of the turkey bacon Was of folded over on one side of sandwich otherwise it tasted good. Received order fairly quick, there seemed to be ample staff. read more

This location is very convenient but can be VERY busy at times. The employees are friendly and seemed as though they work well together based on how they get their orders through quickly. Mornings are probabaly the busiest but they make things happen. They have been pretty consistent with my orders and no complaints here. My iced coffee is made well just as i like it customized and the food is always heated well as needed. Parking can be limited due to other stores and restaurants in the area but most people leave after they get their coffee orders so you never wait too long. The inside can be a little loud when it's busy but I feel like it's normal especially for morning traffic. Mobile ordering also help a lot and glad that they have it available. read more

Ugh... The morning crews here are hit or miss. Very 50/50 on what kind of service youll get when you walk through their doors. Mobile order ETAs are not true. Expect another 5-15 minutes in-store no matter how far ahead youve ordered. Out of all the times Ive been here, my mobile order was ready ONCE on the counter when I walked in. Fridge section variety sucks. Bakery selection is always down to the bones. Seasonal items are usually sold out and the wait time for heated items takes forever. Ive ordered coffee tumblers to go from here and that was a nice experience. They gave lots of extra cups, condiments and even drew flowers all over my boxes. read more

This is a busy Starbucks every day and especially in the mornings. That's why I want to jump on here and give a warning to my lactose intolerant friends, double check with the barista that the milk they used to make your drink is the alternative milk you requested! I ordered oat milk at the counter and my drink was waiting for me but the baristas were very busy so I didn't double check. A few moments later, I realized they certainly did not use oat milk, but regular milk. Hope this saves some of you future stomach issues. read more

So, ever since I redownloaded their app this is the location that I've visited most often - along with three other locales. The app makes ordering and pickup convenient but with the rewards they offer, they ( as evil big corporations do ) entice you into spending more...it is a decent trade-off. Operating hours start from 430a...and like most Starbucks locations it is super busy in the morning. Weekends they open at 500a. Nitrol cold brew is offered but I have to be very tired and ordering around 430a -hasn't happened yet - to need that jolt of caffeine. Service is good and timely...there are always mobile orders...customers in line...and folks dining in. Lots of parking stalls in the Nuuanu Shopping Center but there is a high volume of traffic so parking can be difficult despite the high number of mobile orders customers getting in, then out. read more

This is our favorite Starbucks location in this area. The staff is always friendly and quick with our orders but the best part is they have the ice! Haha that's what my son calls it, it's the small ice that can easily be chewed on. Every time I get my drink, I get him a cup of ice as well. read more

It's all in the stars... Lately there been quite a commotion...uhhhh promotions with Starbucks on their Wins-day deal and double stars weekend on all drinks and food purchases especially combined with offers it's been so hard to resist. It's hard to play favorites as each location does vary for many reasons but this Nuuanu Shopping Plaza formerly The Hungry Lion location is a cozy spot. Parking is never an issue though seating is decent but one thing never changed here for as long as I knew is that they never closed their restroom...code needed for sure but as many still to this day keeps it closed and you have no idea how much I seriously appreciate that and for many other reason why I stop here. The staff here has always been friendly the decor is nice and artsy with huge windows that brings in a lot of light or for you to gaze out and chill. Starbucks Nuuanu is in close proximity to my home and office. Located in the old Chun Hoon Supermarket location turned Walgreen's and now only a few merchants remain, Starbucks being one of them. This store is near a freeway entrance so LOTS of foot traffic in and out of this location. Hood sized parking lot with lots of cars also coming in and out (for their mobile orders) - but usually can easily find an open stall. Friendly staff and most mornings the mobile orders are quickly made. I really wanted to rate 4 stars..... ....BUT -- this has happened too many times (see pic posted) that I have to write a review. My $8 venti ...missing so much! If it wasn't expensive, it would be a non-issue or if it could even be just a little closer to the fill line? The people are very polite however I've been there three times in the past month and all three times I had to cancel my order walk next door to the 7-Eleven and get change for $100 bill. It's very inconvenientand doing so has made me late all three times. The one time that I went back after getting changed from the 7-Eleven I ordered a pumpkin spice latte extra sweet there was absolutely no Sweetness in my pumpkin spice latte and they didn't even ask me my name. I don't understand why a place like that that busy would not have change for $100 bill yet the little 7-Eleven across the street has been able to break it every time it's really sad. I feel that the more crowded they get the less they concentrate on your drink. I got a toffee nut soy latte no whip but some strange foam and the coffee wasn't even to the top. The Starbucks on Nuuanu and School Street has gone from being our favorite daily experience to our worst experience. Former baristas who became our friends moved to other locations as they could not take it there anymore either. Latest incidents: a group of unruly, foul-mouthed, disrespectful teenagers from the nearby SEEQS Charter School have taken over this Starbucks. Their school "Leaders" (Principals) are equally rude about this situation & state they have no control over students off their property. Only responsible reply was them wishing I had photos of their students engaged in this behavior. I offered several solutions but they were not interested. (From my experiences as a student, parent, & teacher.) Having been a teacher here at both private & public schools of all grade levels, I have NEVER witnessed conduct like these teenagers display. They have disobeyed every item that violates Starbucks' Code of Conduct: harassment, disruption, improper use of bathroom, foul or obscene language, hate speech, etc., etc. And have taken it beyond. Starbucks should post this required Code of Conduct. These teenagers sit or lie on floor with their backpacks near entrance/exit often obstructing the doors. They treat Starbucks as their playground with no limits to their actions. These students are extremely boisterous, & when asked politely not to crawl around floors as it is not safe for them, they all flip their middle fingers and say,"Fuck you!" & continue. When I complained 3 months ago, their Managers were advised by the District Manager for Hawaii to ask them to sit in chairs. They don't always follow that, as this location removed half their seating a few years ago. I was told that Starbucks did not want customers to overstay their welcome. Just like they covered all electrical outlets for laptops. I used to work in Starbuck's corporate office. What happened to making Starbucks "your home away from home" to justify their prices? So now, these students, who have no respect for others or Starbucks, have taken over the little seating available for long-term, professionals (who have difficulty engaging in conversations) and then spill out onto floor. A group of eight of them chased me to my car, all swearing at me (after I complained to Asst. Mgr previously about them). I seriously thought they were going to hurt me and/or damage my vehicle. They have also gone after my daughter who is aghast at their behavior. We have both been called "fucking haoles". This Starbucks was always the delightful, beginning of our day. Now I avoid it like the plague. Due to my schedule recently, I decided I would need to go there briefly, very recently. Half of them were sprawled on floor, near entrance, as usual. I mentioned this to lovely barista, Brian, who shared that when they arrive, are so very loud, etc. & offered to tell them to find seating. I quickly ordered and stood behind a column, but noticed they were all moving towards me, so asked to speak to Manager, Dey. I shared my experiences with her and requested that she walk me out of Starbucks, due to them positioning themselves so close to me. These students began following us, so then had to ask her if she could walk me to my car. Luckily, they stopped at door. I noticed when she returned that she had chat with them near entrance & one of tables some had been sitting at. I reported this to Corporate (now only option is Philippines) but Supervisor promised he would relay it. District Mgr left me voicemail & I will be talking to him today. One of my friends who is attorney said that Starbucks is setting themselves up for lawsuit. Since their charter school will do nothing about this, I believe Starbucks should ban SEEQS students from Starbucks. read more

I've been ordering my favorite drinks: 1) Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso 2) Iced Blonde Vanilla Latte 3) Iced Chocolate Almondmilk Shaken Espresso and the newest 4) Iced Toasted Vanilla Oatmilk Shaken Espresso Always use Starbucks Mobile App right before I leave home heading to work. Every time I arrive, it's always ready and available at the right counter. I just skip the line, and it's there! I don't normally order here I normally go to the kamehameha shopping center one because everyone over there is so nice even though they are way busier than this location. But I order a lot of food and they never gave me a bag, I ordered ahead and there is nowhere on the app that says to purchase a bag for 15cents which I think if your doing mobile order and you have a lot of food that maybe you should provide a bag or at least give an option to purchase one on the app! Everyone else got bags. The guy who was passing out the orders today was not the nicest about it either! The blended drink just came out and already it was all melted! There's always something missing in my drink that I pay extra for which is the Vanilla Cold Foam-- or they put too much ice that I have to order my drink with no ice then go to work or home and add my own ice. Nuuanu gang won the Starbuck's Hawaii Barista Championships! I wondered about this as it was advertised, but no notification of whose the winners! Woo hoo!!! These guys are so friendly and take pride in their work. I was doing a challenge of spending $20 which gives me 75 stars. I save my stars for merchandise that I can give away as gifts. They are great for food too! I ordered three venti green tea latte with almond milk to go. I love this drink, not too sweet...want a smooth textured green tea matcha. I can't believe I never do a review for this place. For Starbucks cup release days this place doesn't have very much choices so that's sad if you want to come here for that. Convenience of this place for me to get my morning fix or mid day fix is perfect. It gets very busy here. Staff are pleasant and nice. I haven't had any bad encounters. There's a separate line blocked off for mobile orders only and makes it very convenient for the introvert me LOL. I'm updating my review a bit... The staff here are 100% awesome! They're always pleasant and friendly. There's always parking, even though this location can be busy sometimes. I suggest mobile ordering to avoid lines, and I usually put my order in about 10 min prior to pick up. That ensures that even if they're busy, you don't have to wait. If you don't have the ap, or prefer to order in person, you walk in to the left (following the arrows on the ground) and order at the counter. Sorry, no drive-thru here. For mobile order pickup, you just walk up to the counter/tables on the right and give them your name. They'll grab it from their back bar and you're all set! Beware, sometimes people will order right before they arrive and there will be a line on the mobile order side. If you've ordered more than 10 min prior, I'd suggest walking up to the counter (past the line) and they'll ask for your name. Ordering ahead saves the hassle of waiting... My only complaint is my drink isn't always made consistently (there's room for interpretation - it's not a standard preset item). I almost never complain and just drink it however it's made. But when I have asked for an adjustment, they are still super pleasant and accommodate my request! Hope this info helps... read more

My wife ordered two Holiday special coffees but when she got home we were disappointed to find she received two iced Americanos instead. She called back and talked to the manager Ashley who told her she could come in anytime to receive the two Peppermint mochas she had ordered. She went back several days later and they told her she had not returned in 48 hours so they could not honor that promise. So we were disappointed twice. Appalled by poor service.
