This was on Monday, May 11, 2026, at about 5:30 a.m. There was a guy making my two Frappuccinos that I ordered through the mobile app. When I arrived, they hadn't been started yet. I waited patiently. It wasn't crowded, and there were three employees working. When the guy finally started on my drinks, he kept making negative comments about the recipe and ingredients (it wasn't even complicated) to his coworkers, which only delayed things more. Then, when he started the first drink, he kept adding stuff to the blender, dumping it out, and starting over. He did this three times in a row. I hit him with a "You aight, man?" and it clearly caught him off guard. He nervously said yes. I'm pretty sure that's when he realized the drinks he was messing up, critiquing, and delaying (including the "Pffft, I don't care" comment, which he really said) were mine. Hand to God, I tried to chalk it up to an early Monday morning. If the drinks came out fine, cool, Snoopy Happy Dance. But nope. Both drinks ended up tasting like unflavored ice with whipped cream, a sprinkle of toppings, and a little caramel syrup sitting at the bottom. Even though this location is right across the street from me, I'll gladly go somewhere else that can make the drinks correctly. I don't like going to SALT anyway. And that same guy making my drinks? A long‑time customer who watched him dump the ingredients three times told me he was surprised, because that employee has supposedly been there for a while. read more

I frequent this location because I work out at Orangetheory right next to it. Today I asked for a cup of water because I forgot my hydro flask. They told me they need a purchase to give a cup of water and cited company policy. It feels pretty crappy to be treated that way for a regular customer and just a human in general. Hope this dumb policy can be changed. By the way, there are bowls of water for dogs in front of many businesses, so essentially you are treating customers worse than dogs... read more

This is my neighborhood Starbucks, so every other Starbucks will get compared to this one. I love this location--the baristas are wonderful! Their service is top notch. They are all so friendly when I come in (almost daily) and I will say I'm also so happy to see their faces when I come in. Even if they are busy, the baristas manage to get the line moving and the drinks flowing. The food here is like any other starbucks, but what I do appreciate is that it's not SCALDING hot as sometimes they can be, especially with breakfast sandwiches. Now, I don't normally come in to sit around and do work, but I do love just being in this location. The baristas are truly like seeing friends, but there are so many seating options available for if you need to hang out and stay a while. The nice change to starbucks is that you will actually get a mug and plate if you stay for food and a drink while dining inside. There are a few available outlets should you need to do some work. Weekends can get busy with the cruise crowds, but aside from that, it's generally very laid back and a pleasant spot to visit. read more

Great location for a quick coffee fill! Located in Salt Kaka'ako, its easy to see from the street. Lots of parking in front available for stays shorter than 30 minutes. The Starbucks on Ala Moana Boulevard and Coral Street in SALT, is probably the least hectic of the four locations that I frequent - all in town. I usually patronize early in the morning, before 0700. It is also the most courteous locale, as someone almost always greets me when I pick up my mobile order...my choice of transaction these days for Starbucks. Also, since using the app, I no longer have to deal with a misnomer of Don, Dean, or Jan ( I do not look Scandinavian or German ) and that is a small positive. Starbucks no longer charges for alternative milk; so get your coconut, almond, oat, etc. without the added cost. Their Holiday favors are out: Caramel Brûlée, Chestnut Praline, , Peppermint Mocha, Gingerbread, and Sugar Cookie. The first is the best but I have yet to try any iteration of Gingerbread...so, the Caramel Brûlée may yet be surpassed. Almost forgot about the Peppermint Mocha. Parking is avaialble - pay lot - but I usually find street parking - you don't have to feed the parking meters before 0700(?) so that is a plus. I enjoy their seasonal drinks. Starbucks is a corporate coffee chain so the quality will never be what you can get at a local artisinal coffee shop, where local products are used and ingredients made from scratch and while you wait. read more

Auntie Nadine and I came specifically to this location because she remembered that they had the Barbie pink tumblers. We were on our way to see the Barbie movie and decided to get matching cups. Luckily, we found a parking spot right in front of the store. They indeed had the pink tumblers. We each got one using our stars, so the cup came out to be around $3. The cashier was friendly. She asked about our pink outfits and the pink cups. We told her we were on our way to see the Barbie movie. She said she already saw it and the movie was a 10. After I dropped off my work vehicle at the local Cutter Dodge Chrysler Jeep this morning, I decided to take a short walk down the street to this Starbucks coffee shop to get a cup of Joe for myself, as well as a cup for my coworker. As I walked into the coffee shop, I could clearly see that this coffee shop was pretty busy in the morning. Whether you go to this Starbucks in Kaka'ako, or another Starbucks in Ala Moana, or maybe even in Kahala...........more or less, they're all about the same as far as consistency of their drinks/food. What makes this Starbucks coffee shop in Kaka'ako a little different from the other Starbucks is service! After I placed my drink order for (2) plain coffees, I paid the clerk, then waited on the side - (and I made sure I wasn't in the way with any other customers who were waiting for their drink orders). While I was waiting for my coffees, I was observing the Starbucks workers, and for some strange reason, I totally got the impression that the workers here appeared to be unorganized??? Honestly, how difficult is it to pour two cups of coffee into two coffee cups? I didn't ask for anything fancy, all I wanted was just plain coffee, but the wait time to get my two cups of coffee was pretty ridiculous! I love this Starbucks. They validate parking if you need it, the drinks always taste the same ( consistency is everything) and my order is always correct. If I had one complaint about this store it's that it's a little hot in here! The air conditioning doesn't seem to work that well but other then that, this is one of my favorite Starbucks. Time for another update. To the manager: Looks like we have a bunch of new staff here (again) which SHOULD be a good thing but it really isn't when it comes to this Starbucks. Once again, we must pray that wel get the items we ordered (accuracy doesn't seem to be important) with the right ingredients and toppings. You won't. Once again, we must pray that we won't be late for work, when you ORDER AHEAD and the SB App shows 18 - 22 min wait. They even have a pop up window that show up on the app that brags about the ACCURACY of the estimated time. LOL I'm so happy that the 18 - 22 min estimated wait time is now accurate and a reality. Yeah, no. Once again, we must pray that the staff would stop chit chatting and that the newbie baristas will make multiple drinks at a time instead of one by one. Multi-task! Once again, we must pray that no matter which barista is making your food or drinks, that they will one day realize that CONSISTENCY is important. I had three tasks to accomplish today and this Starbucks - near the corner of Ala Moana Boulevard and Keawe Street (SALT at Our Kaka'ako) - was able to accommodate me! 1. This was the last day of my Five-Day Starbucks Challenge. If I made a purchase five days in a row, I would get 150 bonus Stars! That's why I got the silver Disco tumbler here at SALT. I saw one at the Nu'uanu location and I regretted not buying it. 2. I wanted to redeem my coupon for a free drink. On Cyber Monday, if a customer bought something, a free drink would be loaded on the Starbucks app...yay! I got a free venti Chai Tea Latte! (I wasn't able to redeem this reward at the Target Ala Moana Starbucks because they aren't participating in the Rewards Program.) 3. Because I had over 400 Stars, I wanted to get a free tumbler. I saw one from the new Hawaii Collection that I wanted (the one with the papaya, pineapple, and banana design) and I scooped it up! I just paid a few dollars for it because 400 Stars = $20 in merchandise. Whew! I felt a real sense of happiness because this was like a one-stop shop! Cinnamon Dolce Latte was available and seating was sparse. Luckily customers were amenable to New York style. They seem to be having problems staffing and stocking this location. They're often out of a lot of food items and sometimes randomly closed during regular business hours due to staffing issues. This place is walkable from the port. We came in on a Princess ship and I really wanted a You Are Here mug. Unfortunately, they didn't have the Waikiki mugs, but they did have the Hawaii ones. So that was nice. Service was quick and the place was clean. Did not have time for a drink, but was really happy to get my mug. I recently came here this past weekend to kill some time. I decided sacrificing precious sleep time so I could have my car serviced on an early Saturday morning. I dropped my car off at about 645am and was advised approximately a 2-hour turnaround. Prior to this car appointment, I tried to coordinate a breakfast get together with my sister and her family. I pretty much knew her answer but still tried to convince my sister and family to wake up early to meet me for breakfast. They quickly declined. End of story. I stood at the corner of Queen and South Street and at first, was planning on walking over to New Queen's BBQ for their breakfast special plate. I was half-awake and the thought about shoveling food into my mouth seemed like too much work. I relied on my Yelp app and decided to find the nearest Starbucks for some much needed coffee. My initial instinct was to walk over to the one at Ward Ave but I realized this location was closer to me. Located in SALT at Kaka'ako, this Starbucks is on Ala Moana Blvd sandwiched between popular eateries of Highway Inn and Moku Kitchen. It didn't take much time for me to get here by foot. It was semi-muggy that morning so when I arrived, I decided to have a cold one over hot. After glancing at the menu, I chose the iced brew with milk and 2 pumps. I'm not sure if the AC wasn't running on full capacity or if I'm going through male menopause as I found myself awfully warm. It was still fairly empty when I arrived so it didn't take much time for me to get my coffee. Shortly after sipping on my cold drink, this Starbucks eventually got busy with heavy foot traffic - - adults, children and quadrupeds. But the staff here were quick in executing the drinks, including the mobile app orders. While reading on my phone, I was pleasantly surprised of the music from the 80's and 90's being played. It sure caught me off guard and brought back some great memories of the past. I was sure enjoying listening to the music and using multiple apps on my phone and then, the next thing I known I received a phone call from my auto service consultant that my car was ready for pick up. Overall, I found this Starbucks very satisfying. The staff here were courteous and friendly, and I enjoyed killing time here with a cool drink. It would have been better if the AC was turned on a bit higher but nonetheless, a happy customer. I definitely will keep this place in mind should I be in the area. Although it was busy, most of the people behind the counter seemed scattered and not paying much attention to orders. A coffee order, unless it is a bit fancy, should be very easy. Quality of the drinks are fairly poor. The espresso taste old and watered down. I tried to give them multiple chances but it never seems to get better. Some of the drinks I tried were just downright disgusting but that's my fault for randomly picking from the menu because I had no idea what these drinks were except for standard Frappuccino. Especially refreshing in summertime, I find myself craving their dark and strong flavors more than your average bottled tea. This particular location is in SALT Kaka'ako among all the other modern businesses including restaurants and shops. Starbucks is a necessary place, sometimes you just need what they sell. They have some seating, but it's mostly geared to people working than those seeking a big comfy couch. Also, they have quite a few outdoor umbrella tables in the SALT courtyard. The staff here is friendly and very fast; my app orders are ready before the estimate. Parking is free with validation in the lot or garage; street and free parking is found in the neighborhood. Let me start of by For the most part they get my mobile order ready by the time I get there but there's been a handful of times where I had to wait for my drinks to which I ordered 10-15 mins ahead of time. And when you get to the store.. their staff is not the friendliest either. Pouting and just grouchy. And take their sweet time. Often times, I find myself looking at my watch in queue to tell them to start increasing the pace because people are waiting. As if we owe it to them. Wouldn't even crack a smile. But even with a 30 minutes window and regardless of how busy they are, I always have to wait for another 30 just to get a single drink! We've been frequenting SALT At Our Kaka'ako for some time to either quench our drinking "needs" and check out new dining options. Slowly but surely, this complex has been opening new businesses which make the Kaka'ako neighborhood more hip and vibrant. Our go-to Starbucks is at the Ala Moana Hotel for its spacious and even brighter ambiance BUT for convenience sake, this location is located within walking distance from our new home. The baristas are friendly and take the time to talk to you if you're open to conversation. Also, we've not had any issue with the flavor of our coffee beverages that we've ordered. It is dimly lit like other Starbucks and there are plenty of electrical outlets and free Wi-Fi. Their shelves appear to be well-stocked and orderly with the typical Starbucks merchandise. We've noticed that this location isn't as crazy busy as others that we've been to but maybe it's because we've been there at odd hours or that people don't like to have to pay for parking. This is probably one of the worst Starbucks I have been too. It is a decent size Starbucks but tables are all dirty, and it seems understaffed for sure. There are bunch of homeless ordering just water and stay there for a whole day, asking people who come in and get in line for ordering to get a frappucinno or cupccino and stuff. There was another bum locking himself in the guy' bathroom to do whatever and he would not come out for over 30min. Meanwhile the girl's bathroom was disguating as well.....hair and toilet paper all over the floor. The toilet paper tossed around. This is my go-to Starbucks...its conveniently close to my home and work...which makes it the perfect place to go for my pre-work coffee. It also makes it dangerous for my wallet as it seems like prices always increasing. The baristas are always friendly and the morning crew are able to recognize me (even though I always mobile order). The only reason why they don't know my order is because my order will change depending on my mood. Usually the baristas will get my order right...so the accuracy is on point. There is a lot of parking available, especially for those on the go as there are about 5 stalls right in front of the store that has a 20 minute max...perfect for those that mobile ordered their drink and are going to be in and out. For those that still play Pokemon Go...this is the ideal camping location because you're sitting on top of two gyms at this location.
