Amazing that the many times I have been to Manoa and I missed this Starbucks. Street parking is quite easy. Interior is large, clean and bright. This place gets busy luckily there is a mobile option so lots to be said for efficiency. Drinks come out quickly and orders are organized. However, person taking the orders was a little rude. Asking for her to repeat the restroom code was difficult as she did not want to repeat the code when we did not hear her the first time. Bonus Stars in Manoa, Honolulu, Hawaii... Starbucks has a great marketing plan with fun incentives. Typically, customers get a star per dollar. However, i received an email stating that if I purchase an iced tea, I would get 20 Bonus Stars! If I purchase another iced tea, i would get another 20 Bonus Stars! That's why I went to the Starbucks across the street from Manoa Marketplace. Located on the corner of East Manoa Road and Huapala Street, this green building is a landmark! There's a bus stop right in front of it, so it must get many walk-in customers! I parked in the small, free parking lot behind the building. Inside, it's quite spacious, but there were several customers at the tables. I opened my app so I could pay with my barcode which is linked to my credit card. I can easily reload my barcode this way. I brought my own cup which gets me 6.3 Bonus Stars (not 25 Bonus Stars anymore). My tall black iced tea with light ice and two stevia was consistent... Service was also consistent and efficient. Not sure if it was a rough day for all the staff but when I walked in asking for a Holiday menu item, it looked like I may have triggered the person on the cash register. They immediately told me that the sold out without any apologies with a very annoyed look. I proceeded with my order but it just felt like I was a nuisance for ordering items. I also ordered a pup cup for the fur kid as a reward for behaving very well at the vet. Orders were called for people but when it came to my order, it fell silent. I knew it was my order since I seen the pup cup and other items so I just proceeded and took it. Now part of my order was a tall cafe mocha at kids temp as I didn't want to wait for my drink to cool. Needless to say, the drink was not a kid's temp and I ended up burning my tongue. Again, I'm not too sure if it was a rough day for the staff or it was because there were so many customers, but the ambiance today at this SB location was not the best. This has been my go-to Starbucks location for years. Parking in their lot can be tight, but there's ample parking in the neighboring shopping center or adjacent church parking lot. The church parking I know you can pay for, but I'm not sure if you're allowed to park in the neighboring shopping center unless you're a patron there too. This location has good service, and is located in beautiful Manoa. Be aware it rains a lot though, so bring an umbrella! read more

Stopped by to get some cold drinks on a hot day. They had some new strawberry refresher drinks so we tried one of each. They were both very good. It was the morning, so not too busy inside. Service was friendly and efficient. We are able to find a table and consumed our drinks on the premises. Definitely like this location better than the Ward Avenue location which is more crowded and loud. This one feels more like home. Downside is the parking situation as the lot is very small and is the parking lot for several businesses. You can look for street parking near the church or fire station. Be careful parking across the street at Manoa market place because your car may get booted if they see you. read more

I had my nails done next door and decided to grab a refresher. I ordered the Venti Mango Dragonfruit with extra water -- the syrup is extra concentrated so the only way to decrease the sweetness is to add extra water. I totally recommend this refresher -- it really does the trick for quenching the thirst that comes with soaking in Hawaiian heat. This Starbucks is relatively large with plenty of seating to get laptop work in. I noticed the music was at a comfortable volume because I didn't hear myself shouting as I was ordering with the barista. Bathroom was a bit dirty but it was mid-day so maybe the next shift didn't start yet. As busy as this Starbucks was (a lot of foot traffic), I think they should have more than two baristas behind the counter. Other than that, pretty average Starbucks location -- nothing extraordinary as it relates to service, cleanliness, and standard expectations. read more

Lol... review update. So this location normally does ok, but today isn't that day. Ordered a TALL cold brew w/ almond milk and 2 pumps caramel sauce via mobile app. Maybe they're just being nice, but I got a VENTI instead. This is not the first time I've received something other than what I order. As a paying customer, I believe I deserve to be given the items I order. If you are 86'd an item you should communicate it. A Blonde Roast Americano should not be a shortcut for making a Blonde Roast Pour Over. Also, if I ask if you made me an Americano and I watch you make me an Americano, please don't lie and tell me its a pour-over. Coffee roasts have various roasting styles that give them a distinct flavor. Pike Place is a medium roast that I know very well. Light roast coffees are my new favorite and I know what makes them my favorite. Please don't cut corners when it comes to supplying a product and service. This is a quaint little Starbucks nestled in Manoa. If you know Manoa, it's a sleepy town where there is few of much. Luckily, we have a Starbucks when you want an alternative to Coffee Bean and Tea. You can usually find high schoolers, collegiates and everything in-between depending on the time of day. Service is quick and friendly. My kid usually gets the pink drink and luckily they can make that with their eyes closed. If you go later in the afternoon, be forewarned: they tend to run out of goodies in the display case. Parking can be a challenge as they share a lot with the other business' that are on the same block. You can always sneak across the street and park there. read more

This Manoa Starbucks is pretty popular with students, both from UH and Midpac/punahou. It's therefore sometimes difficult to find a table to enjoy your coffee at. The parking lot behind Starbucks is also relatively small, so I've seen people park across the street at Safeway and walk over. There is also street parking in front of the fire station. The baristas are nice, I'm usually very indecisive about what to order, but they wait patiently. It seems that a lot of people use the mobile app to order their drinks, but idk where they park... There is also a bathroom inside this Starbucks, yay. I guess they need one since people spend hours at a time here. There are quite a few outlets, but the tables are a little squished together, so it gets a little awkward if people are trying to have a conversation right next to you. read more

I'm appalled that during a pandemic and a time of surges, this Starbucks would have such unsanitary practices. This morning this store allow a customer to enter the store with an unleashed dog without a collar... and did nothing! When other customers mentioned that there was a leash law. Neither the customer with the dog nor the Starbucks staff did anything. Of course, you shouldn't expect much from the barista since the order was also incorrect. Today is my birthday, I have a super busy work day and a late dinner with my family so I went to redeem my free birthday drink at the Manoa Starbucks because I definitely needed the jump start. I walked in and Gib (that's what his name tag said) absolutely made my day and had me smiling from ear to ear. I'm also not the type to be smiling at 630 in the morning when I haven't had the chance to put on my make up yet. He has the most amazing demeanor, is so friendly and has a positive attitude. He took my order, was making jokes, and when I told I was redeeming my birthday drink, he gave me high five and said, "Happy Birthday! Today is your day, don't let anyone tell you differently." And then he motioned like he was going to get all the people in the store to come together and sing me happy birthday and I said, no please don't, and he said, "Ok, I won't because you asked me not to." I'm so glad he was the first person I interacted with today because I was not looking forward to my busy birthday, work day, but now I am in such a good mood and feel like it's going to be great day! This is my favorite Starbucks as it's conveniently situated near both home and school. The baristas aren't the friendliest bunch, yet certainly aren't obnoxiously bad either...more neutral. The staff consistently spell my name wrong (who knew "Jamie" could be so tricky?), but make my drinks to perfection. My go-to morning pick-me-up is the Iced Layered Caramel Macchiato with an extra shot and thick caramel walls. This extra sweet treat wakes me up and puts me on that sugar high till noon... That's where my midday drink, the Cool Lime Refresher with Strawberry and no water comes into play. As its name suggests, it's wonderfully refreshing and gives me that extra oomph to make it through the rest of the day. Seating: It's hit or miss grabbing a table. Most times they are occupied by the campers who look like they're in it for the long haul. Outlets are also a hot commodity. Parking: Like the seating, it can be an issue, as the lot is small, shared with a bunch of other businesses, and almost always full. Street parking can be found, but beware of the omnipresent "No Parking" signs and driveways up near the church. The super power of Starbucks is the app. It's the only reason why I get coffee there in a pinch. That being said, they are a corporation, and the goal is make money, not to be concerned about their customers. The skinny mocha syrup is amazing, considering it's sugar free; however, has a very short shelf life. That being said, not very many locations carry it because the demand cannot keep up with the shelf life. On O`ahu, the only locations I've been to that still carry it is Kapahulu, Kahala, and a store front in Ala Moana shopping center. Kahala and Ala Moana charge Waikiki prices, so you will pay a bit more on any drink. On two separate occasions, I ordered SKINNY MOCHA at two separate locations. Both locations do not carry skinny mocha syrup. Rather than informing me that they don't carry it, both stores slipped in regular, full sugar mocha syrup. I've called both locations in the past, to warn them about the dangers of doing this without informing the customer. Unfortunately, it continues to happen. If you are a Type I diabetic, this practice can be deadly, yet Starbucks makes no effort to educate their employees about their unethical practices. If you order sugar syrup of any kind, be sure to watch them make your drink, rather than order on the app. This is the only way to ensure that they do it right. It's disappointing how many food establishments are overly concerned about gluten and other food allergies, but not diabetes, which is basically, an allergy to sugar. read more
