Noppakao is a very good Thai place shimmed into a crowded little suburban strip mall. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is very clam and pleasant. My kid loves the huge fish tank. Noppakao can be a little pricey for dinners, but their lunch special is inline with other restaurants in the area. read more

This food is DELICIOUS! However... when ordering more than 1 complicated order, it has been messed up nearly every time. I get a 1-star chicken pad thai with extra peanuts and no green onions. My husband get's a 2 star beed pad thai. Mine is often 2 stars with very little peanuts and with green onions. This is a beautiful, upscale restaurant in a tiny strip mall. The wait staff is very attentive without hovering. I was with a party of 5 adults & 2 young children. We all ordered something different. Each dish was equally delicious, and the presentation was gorgeous. The vegetables were fresh, crisp, and cooked to perfection. The curry and other sauces tantalizing without being overpowering. The restaurant's decor reflects great taste and attention to little details that further enhance your dining experience. On a personal note, a quick trip to the spotlessly clean Women's restroom was a delightful surprise. This place is easily one of my favorites. The lunch menu is great with perfect quantities of food. The ambiance is always very nice and some nights when the piano player is there, it's even better. Tonight I went to Noppakao in Everett to place a to go order. Over the last few years, I often order the crab delight to go along with fresh prawn spring rolls. For some reason tonight I thought to ask the hostess if they really only use fresh crab as the menu description indicates "Deep-fried won-ton wrap stuffed with fresh crab meat and cream cheese, served with sweet and spicy plum sauce." She said she thought it was mixed. I didn't understand what that meant so she went to get the manager to explain to me. I re-asked him if they use fresh crab meat in their crab delight per the menu description. He said no- they mix imitation crab meat along with real crab meat. I said I thought that is misleading to customers since the menu does not say they mix it- it's very clear that it says "stuffed with fresh crab meat and cream cheese". Then he gave me a sly creepy knowing smile and said it's fine because the menu doesn't specify that they don't use imitation crab meat. I said I disagree and think it's misleading and they should change the description. This was all calm and we were having a discussion, but then he quickly got angry and yelled at me that I was trying to pick a fight. I said no I'm not, I've been ordering here for years and had no idea they use fake crab meat and if this is the attitude he has right now about our chat then I'm never coming back here. He stormed away from me, I asked to speak to the owner- he said he was the manager, I said I know, but I want to speak to the owner about his attitude and yelling and I asked his name. He said his name was Paul. They really need to change to the description to say "stuffed with imitation and fresh crab meat and cream cheese". Many people do not want eat imitation crab for various reasons and they are misleading them. If someone is allergic to imitation crab (I know people who are), they could be sued because the description is wrong. Paul (the manager) needs to take some customer service classes and possibly some anger management classes in order to keep being a manager at a restaurant whose primary business is customer service. The way he suddenly got angry and stormed off was totally alarming and inappropriate. His response to our discussion should have simply been "I understand your concerns and I will talk to the owner about it". That would have made me happy and I would have ordered my dinner there that night. I wouldn't have ordered the crab delight, but I would have ordered the fresh prawn rolls and something else and I would have come back as a customer again as I have for years. Because of his aggressive reaction, I unfortunately will not be returning as a customer and am sharing this awful experience with my friend, family, neighbors, coworkers, Yelp, Facebook, the Better Business Bureau and the Snohomish County Health Department. UPDATED: the "restaurant management" answered my BBC complaint that they will stop using imitation crab meat in the crab delight. So I am hoping they will do so! read more

My boyfriend and I went here Friday night for dinner after being too lazy too cook at home, and haven't been able to go out in a while, so we checked out Groupon, and found a deal $20 for $40 of food, sounds awesome right? The vouchers in my cart came separately, and the waitress told me I could only use 1 coupon, even though two of us were there. So that was a little irritating. The AWESOME part was our waiter, I wish I could remember his name, but he was fabulous, my boyfriend decided to be adventurous, which was awesome, and I talked him into going to Thai, even though he is very picky about his foods, we went anyway. He ordered Sake, not knowing what it is, or how to drink it, he asked our waiter, the waiter was telling us stories about him drinking sake with his friends, and how it is traditionally done, and even brought him a glass of beer to drink it the traditionally way! That was awesome, and such a great time. Much to say, I really enjoyed my time there, and so did my boyfriend. Thank you to to awesome staff to make a first experience a great one! :) read more

At first, I was sad to see Andaman no longer in business. However, we decided to give Noppakao a try, and it did not disappoint. The interior is nicely decorated, and there was a live pianist playing. Our entrees were very good, and the service was excellent. We'll definitely visit Noppakao again. read more

What happened? My first visit was about three weeks ago for dinner. It was really great food and superior service. The decor is welcoming. I gave it 5 stars. Today, I took my friend there. I had to call over the wait person to take my order. He came back twice because he had not taken the order correctly and gotten all the information he needed. We ordered hot tea as well. The tea arrived and was lukewarm at best. Our food arrived. Parts of the dish were cold, not even warm. A cold mushroom and snow pea, a warm piece of chicken and hot rice. How does this happen? My friends dish was the same way. They were sent back to heat them up. The tea issue continued with an excuse that their boiler pot was on the fritz. They brought another tea kettle to the table holding it with a cloth towel. I touched the handle and it was too HOT to touch with my bare hand. If I had grabbed it I would have been burned. Food arrives second time. It is hot enough on one side of the plate and warmish on the other. One of the wait staff treated us like he was doing us a favor to be there and simply made excuses for all the problems he was finding in the kitchen. In the end: they did not charge us for the tea and gave us a 15% discount for problems created by them. That was the best part of the meal and the experience. Sad. End result for me: I will not be going back and will actively not recommend this place to anyone read more

Excellent pad thai, one of my favorite in the area (and I have tried almost all of them). Spiciness was spot-on for three stars. My friend ordered the Blue Sapphire Basil with chicken which was served with plenty of vegetables over a delicious tangy garlic sauce. Service was very fast for a relatively busy Sunday night and the atmosphere was nicer than most Thai restaurants I've been to. Will definitely be making a return visit. read more

We got a ton of various items and shared happily. It was fabulous! We had some amazing coconut leek soup (three stars) and it was sssssooooo good. My husband and I ate there last night and absolutely love their service - the food is good however the prices need a little adjusting. Other Thai restaurants around this area have the same quality of food however their prices are not near what Nappakao's is. If the owner is really interested in these reviews I hope he reads this and takes it seriously by reviewing the price list. Over all the atmosphere is great! Service is outstanding - pleasant, respectful, always coming back to refill our beverages, asking how the food is, etc. I probably would recommend this restaurant to other friends but would have to be honest about the pricing. BTW, for anyone loving Saltwater Fish Tanks - theirs is enjoyable to watch - they do have a grand piano, being a pianist myself I would have loved to hear some. read more

The food here is quite good. It is not amazing and I've had better in other places, but it is still very good. We had the Pad Se Ew, Panang Curry Prawns, Diamond Cashew Chicken, Tom Kah Chicken Soup, and the Garlic Pork Ribs. All were very tasty and had a touch of sweetness to them. I personally liked the Diamond Cashew Chicken the best. The only problem with this restaurant is the service. They don't have a large enough staff to handle the entire restaurant. They brought out our soup quickly. We had just started eating it when they brought out the rest of the dishes. There wasn't even room on the table for everything. They should have waited a little between bringing the soup and the entrees. After that, we hardly ever saw anyone again. We had to wait to get rid of the soup dishes and we had to wait to get more water, wait for boxes, salt and pepper, etc. What particularly annoyed me is when they brought the check without asking if we wanted any dessert or coffee. Seriously, we had awful service during the entire meal and the place was not even full (about 2/3 full). They delivered the food really quickly, but that shouldn't end their service to us. They were courteous and friendly when we saw them, but they just couldn't handle all the tables. The ambience is OK. It's kind of small and sterile, but overall it's fine. It's not particularly nice, but is was comfortable enough. My recommendation would be to stop here for decently good takeout Thai food and not dine in the restaurant. read more

ZERO STAR! WORST SERVICE and Thai food we've had in a loooong time. My daughter and I were not greeted but seated fairly quickly. The male server poured our water and disappeared. We thought maybe they were understaffed and decided to be patient for him to return and take our drink order. We were about to leave after being patient for 15 minutes when a woman server came to take our food order. We decided to stay as it was our 1st time trying this restaurant. My daughter ordered chicken pad Thai and I ordered ruby red chicken curry. The server went to the kitchen and returned within 5 minutes. I immediately knew the the food was not freshly cooked. The chicken in both our dished appeared withered. It tasted like it was left over chicken from the previous day for both our dishes. My daughter's noodles were squishy and wet as though they had been sitting in hot water longer than 10 minutes. Also, my daughter's dish was SO SWEET you could have placed it on toast for your breakfast. We both ordered 5 star spicy for our dishes and my daughter's was -5 star spicy. She had to get up and ask the server for chili's, green onion, lime and peanuts to counter the sweetness of the dish.. Which didn't work because the lime wedges and green onions looked like they had been sitting out since yesterday! The woman server asked if everything was OK as she noticed most of the chicken from my dish was sitting on the side of the bowl. We told her the pad Thai was too sweet and she basically argued with my daughter telling her that it's authentic Thai food and that's now they make it. I told her the chicken wasn't freshly cooked and I didn't care for it, but the curry was very good! She told me that they cook their meats in the morning. She did not apologize or offer to take my daughter's dish off the bill. She sent the male server over to the table with the bill. I placed my card with the bill and I had to ask him to remove the sweet pad Thai off of the bill. It was clear my daughter had barely touched it. He did remove it from the bill. Their decor was charming at 1st, but after a closer look the place was very dusty and their furnishings are literally falling apart. read more

Could not believe our waiter. Food was good although one meal was served 5 minutes before the other two. We paid our bill. I left a $3 tip which was 14% and more than enough for never taking a drink order and putting in minimal effort to do a good job. Server approached me in front of my friends and asked if service was ok. I didn't want to be rude and said it was fine. He handed me my check back and said he deserved a full 15% tip then. I was shocked. He did it so rudely and everyone at the table was appalled. I refused and he aggressively asked I pay more for the tip. I handed it back and gave him a "tip" that if he wanted repeat customers he should never do that again. I will not be going back and suggest you avoid it too.
