He took our drink and app order and then came back and put the specials menu in the table so we were unable to order any of the special apps. I went to Nomade recently and I must say , it was a delight !! The staff were extremely polite and professional. I had a rsvp and was seated promptly and service was excellent. The place filled up quickly, but everyone handed it with ease. I had multiple wait staff attending to my table. That seemed to be the norm there. Everyone helped each other. The food was excellent and the wine list although short had enough that you can find something to satisfy your palate. Not to mention a full bar. Atmosphere and decor five stars. Service was fine. Escargot was good but not enough bread. Beef carpaccio was tasteless and barely dressed. Clam linguine was okay. Pannacotta which is a favorite of mine was overcooked there was a thick skin on the top and random over cooked clots in it with very tart berries in sugar syrup. The French gimlet was really the star of the meal with an interestingly simplistic gin flavor profile not very juniper-forward but a simple short neat clean to let the drink shine and not get muddled with too many competing flavors. I have been to Nomade many times and had many different experiences. it has a nice vibe and the service is generally good. The food has been hit or miss. I went today for brunch and got the shakshuka, which is a poached egg dish with spicy tomato sauce. The menu said it cam with a toasted baguette, which was what made me want to order it. I envisioned a nice piece of baguette cut length wise, toasted with butter to soak up the egg and sauce. What came with it instead was an untoasted piece of Baguette, cut into skinny oval slices. When the waitress finally came to see if we needed anything else, I mentioned that the menu said it came with a toasted baguett. She took the bread back and then 15 minutes later I get the same skinny slices very lightly toasted with no butter. The eggs were good and it would have been a good dish with a nice toasted and buttered hunk of baguette. This may seem minor, but it really ruined the whole experience. Details matter. if you say toasted on the menu, toast the baguette. read more

I'm going to say this was more of a 3.5 experience today but I rounded up to a 4. The interior design of the place was very aesthetically pleasing which was what initially drew me in. I started off with a sangria and then we had shared appetizers of the fried Brie and the tuna on crispy rice. Those were the best part of my dining experience today IMO, very delicious. It took a while between getting appetizers and the entrees which I understood and felt bad that there was only one server for our whole outdoor area (maybe inside too not sure). My entree was the chopped salad with salmon which came with a mix of greens, rice, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, capers, olives. I was expecting a slab of salmon but instead it was just pieces of it throughout which I didn't feel like it was enough, maybe about a quarter of a palm sized. My entree was ok, overpriced, not something I would order again or recommend. If I were to come back, I would just focus on ordering drinks and apps. read more

New, beautiful dining experience in Westport CT. Absolutely gorgeous restaurant and amazing food. The restaurant is located on Main Street, parking has always been easy for me as there is street parking and a lot. The decor is earth tones, with Tulum vibes. It's a spacious restaurant with an outdoor terrace, main dining room and when you walk in a lounge bar area. I've tried the escargot and octopus both were delicious. The pork shoulder is a big hit. The drinks are very good as well my favorite that the bartender Andres makes is with mezcal. The owner is very gracious and greets his patrons. If you are in the area or want a staycation date night definitely give Nomade a try you wont be disappointed. read more

Came here for a date night last week. From the moment we walked in, it was a great experience. Absolutely love the decor and vibe of this restaurant. The staff were all so friendly. Service was on point. And the food? The food was absolutely DELICIOUS. We got the wagyu beef skewer for an appetizer that came with a delicious sauce. Then I got the stuffed cabbage as my entree (love that they have this on their menu! Not many places do) and it was some of the best if not the best stuffed cabbage I've ever had. I would move to Westport just to eat here often. Must orders are: Hamachi on Crispy Rice, Pei Mussels (Spicy Merguez-Harissa-Cilantro Broth and the most delicious bread for dunking in the broth), Charred Octopus (Spicy Chorizo, Fingerling Potato), Lamb Merguez, Brandade. AND Coquilles St. Jacques which I never see on menus and it is one of my favorite dishes and Nomade's offering was superb. The hazelnut chocolate mousse was rich and perfect with an espresso. We loved Nomade! It's such a gorgeous place and has many beautiful features including a painted brick fireplace, two bar areas, cozy tables, wood accents, decorative baskets, and lighting fixtures. I mean... it's just gorgeous all around. We did not have a reservation on a Saturday mid-afternoon and they were pretty busy but we were able to obtain a spot. We received our menus and placed drink orders relatively quickly. We received our drinks which were absolutely amazing and wonderfully crafted. After this, however, it took quite a while for our waiter to return and take our food order. This is my one complaint. It just took an unusual amount of time for him to return. We ordered an appetizer which was Hamachi on crispy rice- delicious!! Excellent, fresh hamachi, bright flavor, and loved the crispy rice accompaniment. I had a the signature Tavern chopped salad which was really good!! Loved the vegetable confit, sherry vinaigrette, and heartiness of the brown rice mixed in. My husband had a burger which he found to be delicious, prepared to his liking, juicy, and flavorful. Absolutely enjoyed our experience and will return for sure. read more

So good! We got so many appetizers (hummus platter, deviled eggs, steak skewers, beeT carpaccio) and they were all delicious. Each of us had a different meal (salmon, chicken, stuffed pepper) and loved them all. And the desserts... Omgoodness... so hard to decide what to get because this is the best dessert menu ever!!! I ordered the steak and fries (mainly because i wanted fries) and it was delicious! If fries don't come with your meal, definitely order some. The restaurant is surprisingly big with an indoor and outdoor area. The decorations were super cute I couldn't stop looking around. The bathroom was clean but in an interesting location since you walk past a waitress station where they fill up drinks. Parking was easy as there is street parking but im sure on a Saturday night it might be more difficult to find a spot. Next time i want to try the escargot and fried brie. That was just the worst dining experience I have had in Westport. Moved here a while ago and was told to try this place out. The restaurant was half empty. We were two people and there was about 8 four person tables available. I asked to be seated at one. After giving us bad attitude and laughing at is she hesitantly said yes. Than the waiter comes and says we can't order appetizers first. We have to order everything at once or the kitchen won't bring us anymore food. WTH! Than the spicy tuna rice comes out. Dry, no sauce, and very fishy smell. The French onion soup was cold and the rest of the food lacked flavor. We were still hungry but because the waiter told us we couldn't order more we finished our meal at spotted horse (never disappoints) The ambience is nice and the restaurant is very cute. Went for dinner last night and was massively disappointed. I walked in and the hostess wasn't there but plenty of staff/managers were just standing around looking at me but said nothing. The host eventually came back and greeted me and brought me to a table. The bus boy was extremely attentive and quickly brought water to the table. After about 10 minutes the waiter still hadn't come to the table so I asked the bus boy if I could order a drink. That was the common theme throughout the night. We consistently had to ask other staff members if they could find our waiter over the course of the 2 or 3 hours we were there. Unfortunately the food was the real bummer here though. We got the spicy tuna crispies which had no flavor at all. The hamachi crudo tasted good but it was 4 TINY pieces for $22.... that was a bit of a surprise. Then we had the grilled octopus. The octopus was cooked well but the dish lacked flavor. All I could taste was lemon juice. Then we got the duck fried rice. There were more mushrooms than rice and it again lacked flavor. Everything was just very bland and unimpressive for $100 a person. Then we had been waiting for the check for a bit so I grabbed my credit card and set it down. Without even asking or showing a bill the waiter tried to grab my card. It seemed very inappropriate to me. The cocktails also left something to be desired. I got the French gimlet which was overly sweet. My friend got a bourbon drink that tasted like they just poured bourbon and a ton of lemon juice in a glass. Drove about and hour and a half to come check out this restaurant. After being let down with the appetizer's, we decided to hold off on ordering entrees and went to a different restaurant for dinner. Service was meh, drinks were good. The hot mussels in white wine were lacking flavor. The $20 cheese board is a literal joke lol it looks like something to would give my toddler for a snack (see photo) it was actually humorous. Escargot was good and very garlicky & buttery. Ordered the octopus and did not enjoy it. The flavor was good but it was cut up into a bunch of tiny pieces (again felt like it was styled for a toddler). Would much rather have the tentacle. Crispy truffle rice didn't taste like truffle at all and the avocado on top was so sour it was definitely old. I know there is lime juice in it but I was very, very sour. Overall I think it is a subpar place. Nothing great. The building itself is stunning. They could provide a much better experience, the potential is there. read more
