First time in and I was impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant, friendly service, and value of the meals my group got. I ordered the daily special, bibimbap. The serving size was ok, there were some nice veggies, some beef, and a fried egg to top it off. I was very pleased with the quality of the meal. Would definitely eat again. Both coworkers' rice dishes looked good as well. Their portions were a little bigger, but they both didn't have the more premium ingredients as I had with my dish. The attitude here is SH*T!!!! The woman that assuredly owns this restaurant has had an attitude with me from get go because I don't TIP for take out! How do I know this? I am a meticulous judge of character. This woman doesn't smile, she knows who I am and knows I don't TIP for takeout so she gives me ZERO greeting or thank you or goodbyes and this has happened over a period of one year. I have worked in this industry for over 25 years. I do NOT tip an OWNER of a business that does not SERVE me because they are making the profit. A SERVER gets tipped. When my to go order arrived I opened it up to add teriyaki sauce. The teriyaki chicken that I paid almost 8 dollars for was like a lunch size teriyaki maybe 3 ounces of meat. That's less meat than McDonald's give you when you order a quarter pounder. The Mongolian beef was so small it was less than appetizer size more in the onions and sauce and leads on the three small Pedley pieces of beef. I mean it wasn't called Mongolian soup or Mongolian vegetables - it is called Mongolian beef for a reason right??? They seemed fresh dipped in batter, I enjoyed the freshness and not greasy at all. Normally when I go to an actual Thai restaurant I always ask for my Phad Thai made without fish sauce, it's usually to over powering. But I decided to try theirs as they naturally make theirs. Decided to try them based on yelp reviews. Generally I'm not a big fan of teriyaki places but this one wasn't bad. I tried the broccoli beef- good, more beef than broccoli which was unusual but it was cooked nicely and decent quality. The sauce was a little too sweet for my taste and the portion was fairly small, definitely easy to finish in one sitting (maybe with some left over rice). The chicken pad Thai was pretty good, large portion which I like, means I have lunch for another day or two. It was a little bit sweet, tiny bit spicy, nice mild flavor. It did have peanuts in it which just as a personal preference I don't care for. I always say a teriyaki place is best judged by how well they make the most basic and common dish in the history of teriyaki existence: chicken teriyaki. Pretty average. Like other teriyaki spots, they open up the Chinese/American fusion menu for burgers and chow mein etc. I will say that the ramen menu is a nice change of pace that you don't get at too many other places. In the case of nom nom, expect what you normally would in any other teriyaki spot. Average teriyaki, average service. We saw the yelp check in coupon and thought, heck yes! What a score! When we arrived, we were told that they do not accept the yelp coupon anymore...that they requested that yelp take it down over three years ago!!!!! So we were already off to a bad start. We both ordered the chicken and gyoza, one spicy and one regular. The flavor was good and the chicken was tender, but you could tell it was frozen beforehand. The salad, while tasty and more than just iceberg, was scrawny at best. The majority of the giant plate was mounds of rice, almost as though compensating for something. The most disappointing part was the bubble tea. It seemed really watered down and the tapioca seemed mushy. I realize it is normally kind of slimy, but their was something just off about these. I thought the name of this place was the cutest thing ever! Something with a catchy name always makes me wanna try it, plus it's Asian food, which is my favorite! We also got the veggie spring rolls, which were terrific! We had it delivered. The girl who delivers is the sweetest girl! She's very nice and always smiles!
