When we went inside, they asked if we were having the lunch or dinner menu and we said lunch. We didn't know that the poster on the window is the 'lunch AYCE special' vs a regular lunch. We scanned the QR code and place our orders directly from our own phones. It wasn't until we went to pay that we realized the lunch and lunch special are 2 different things. The manager said that the regular lunch has salmon rose, beef, and beef ribs. We didn't know there are 2 different lunch menus nor did they ask us in the very beginning. Anyway, we needed up paying more than we anticipated. Back to the food. They have a small bar area where you get your own miso soup and regular romaine salad. There's also vanilla and matcha (very good) soft serve with cones and a bunch of pudding (mango, lychee, coffee, etc) and you can put toppings on top (lychee jelly, passionfruit popping bubbles, etc). Tempura items were excellent, with crisp batter and came out piping hot. The salmon rose, spicy salmon sushi, squid sushi, flying fish egg sushi were all very fresh. The rice to fish ratio was well balanced, the seaweed was crisp and fresh. The rolls were nice, just 4 pieces per order. We tried their dragon roll, volcano roll, and sexy summer roll (the rice paper was very hard on this one). The beef ribs were very tasty, as well as the chicken wings. We tried both the salmon teriyaki and the grilled mackerel, both were pretty good. The udon also had a nice bite to the noodles and the broth was tasty. The lunch special menu and the regular lunch menu don't seem that much different. Despite the mishap today, I think I will go back and try the lunch special menu. Also, Sushi Legend is part of the Queen Congee Group, and from my experience, all their subsides are all very reputable restaurants.

The restaurant was extremely hot inside, the A/C was no where near the right temperature for how hot it's been this summer. Luckily I had a chance to return the other week and it was still great. The servers are very polite and attentive. They also have a variety of combo options for meats, sushi, and sashimi. I often used to get the teriyaki combo but their rolls are surprisingly good too. They also often have extra bonus dishes on the house such as salmon collars like when I visited, or bonus rolls. Their small noodle appetizer is also a nice touch. The sashimi was good and they allow minor substitutions which was definitely appreciated. One small observation was their shrimp tempura was actually using fried shrimp batter but it was still yummy. If you're in the area and looking for sushi, they've done it for a long time and do it well. I hope to have an opportunity to come back again soon.

***New Management Alert!***…read more Hub Sushi has always been one of my fav sushi restaurant for my family and I in North York. We're there at least 4 times a year. We have a party 12, it's hard to get reservations for that large of a party on such short notice especially for a small restaurant like Hub Sushi. However every time we call they were able to set a table aside for us no issues. This time around was no exception. We do eat a bit earlier at 5 pm so there was plenty of seating. We arrived early and received our table. I check in on Yelp and was pleasantly surprised to get a 20% coupon discount on a special roll. I proceeded with to ask the server what rolls the discount applies to in the menu. The server said they have a new owner and not able to honour the discount. That's how I found out it was under new management. They do have a VIP service where you register online and they give you a free order of fried gyoza or edamame for each visit which they did honour. Thank goodness! However they no longer serve with ponzu sauce. The gyoza was served with the his sweet and sour sauce. Service was terrible. Maybe it was under new management and they were still getting use to the kitchen but our food came very staggered and took a while considering we were not the only ones in the whole restaurant. They mixed up my sister's order of a teriyaki chicken sushi roll, they gave her the teriyaki dinner. But when they corrected the order, her teriyaki chicken rolls came with a piece of hair on the roll. She lost her appetite after seeing the hair and tried to cancel the order. But the server said they can't cancel it and will remake the rolls with no hair. They did end up charging for her order.she didn't end up eating it when the order came and was worried they just picked off the hair. My daughters waited for over an hour for their spicy seafood udon noodle soup. To have the server come to us an hour later to tell us they can't make the spicy udon seafood noodle soup. I asked why she said they don't have seafood and I said how about chicken? They proceed to tell me they don't have the spicy broth either! So we switched to a stir fry chicken teriyaki udon. It came over cooked and the noodles and veggies were mushy and soggy. I gave them 3 stars since the steak teriyaki, ebi sushi and Sashimi was still good. It's too bad that we didn't have a good experience here and will probably not come back
