What can I say, this will always be one of my go to sushi places in Scarborough. The space is huge, with a great selection of AYCE! A fun night for a big group of people, or just for a date night as well. I absolutely love all the sushi selections and appetizers. Definitely recommend coming here if you're craving some good sushi! 10/10 recommend!
Excellent AYCE sushi option in the Markham / Scarborough area. I went for weekend dinner with my mom, and we both really enjoyed it. Since I last came maybe a year ago, they've made some great changes (dessert and cold apps station). My mom and I are both sashimi lovers so we mainly focused on that - the sashimi was fresh and I really loved how thick cut the salmon sashimi was. Other standouts was the scallop from the grill and the beef tataki. The self-serve soup and cold bar was new to me this visit and I really liked it, it was a something to do while waiting for food to be delivered to our table. We were huge fans of the black sesame soft serve in particular, it was really good. Overall I'd say I really enjoyed the variety, though I did mostly stick to my favorites once I find out what they were. I tried a bunch of dishes, portion sizes were nice and small, but I did find the grilled foods sometimes hit or miss. I think if you're a sashimi and seafood lover, this is definitely a great place to go. Last time I brought my brother who doesn't eat raw food or seafood, and he didn't enjoy it as much as me. Service was also great - when we arrived there weren't many people, but by the time we left it was absolutely packed. The staff picked up dishes really quickly, the things we ordered weren't missed, and the QR code ordering process was really smooth. The quality of the sashimi that we ate was consistent the whole meal. Parking was also easy and convenient, will definitely be back for more. I purposely came from Mississauga, and it was well worth the trip. I hope they never get rid of the black sesame soft serve!
This place has definitely gone downhill! It used to be good before and would travel more than an hour just to eat here even though there's a lot of sushi places close to where I live. Noticed also some changes in the restaurant since my last visit and not really happy about it. They have now switched to a self-service soup, salad, dessert including ice cream. You can see that most of the food items in this self-serve area don't have lids which can pose health issues especially if people are coughing/sneezing near the food. Their food which was once delectable has now been replaced with low quality and not so fresh sushi/sashimi, greasy and oily fried rice/noodles/shrimp tempura and dry and tough meats. And when you order food through their Ipad you can now expect that some of them won't be delivered to your table or if you order a specific number of items you will receive less of what you ordered. Service is also abysmal to the point that servers here are borderline rude. Staff would give you an attitude if you ask for water refill or have your empty plates taken away. With all these bad changes, I don't think a repeat visit for us won't be happening in the future.
I absolutely loved it here. I have my go-to place for but this restaurant really lives up to their name. I came here to celebrate my friend's birthday and unfortunately, I was late . So we missed the reservation . Once we got in, it was fully packed so we thought the waiting time would be more than an hour . Surprisingly, we added our name on the waitlist which was digital once you walked in . We were only 6th in line . What was great is we only waited less than 10 mins and we were seated. All the food was fresh and good . What I absolutely loved was it was affordable . I believe I paid around 40-45 dollars , this included drinks (non-alcoholic and no specialty drinks) and food that was all you can eat and drink . The restaurant was amazing with quick and amazing staff , and just to top it off, the food was amazing and fresh . If you go, I highly suggest you charge your phone because that is how you will be ordering, and as fancy as the restaurant looks, you don't have to dress up .
Been to this place always whenever I have my friends and family come to visit Toronto and they want eat all can food. Service is fast. Nice decor. Good food
Decent all-you-can-eat Japanese place. Rating is for their lunch buffet Lunch selections were adequate for the price. However it was either the beef ribs or beef teriyaki that tasted real good but had too much MSG which can dry up your mouth and throat pretty much after an hour or so. It was very annoying but that's how they liven up their food flavour. Next time I should ask if they can avoid all MSG if possible. Service is quite fast via iPad ordering. Their scallop appetizer is quite good. Their sushi is plump and filled with lots of sushi rice. Bring cash and get additional discount. Plaza can be quite busy but still have ample parking. Their udon broth is quite bland. Perhaps you need put your own mix of soy sauce etc into it. The fastfood, Sushi-Q has a far better tasting broth than here. Then again, who orders udon or noddles at a buffet? If you do, then don't. I'd you do then just try to share it amongst a few of you. It doesn't seem to be their best.
I ordered a take out Sashimi Platter w 50 pieces. $45. It's great value for the price to quantity. Quality is ok. Above average taste. Better than most places.
July 17, 2024 - Went here for bday lunch with my fam. It was really good. Lots of options to choose from. Service was great and the staff was very nice.
Who can resist a yummy AYCE Japanese meal!?? We've been here quite a few times over the years and was back for Fathers Day dinner few weeks ago. We still enjoyed this spot @sushilegendtrt in Scarborough (Brimley /Huntingwood). Came here for a weekend dinner with no wait for a table. There were lots of variety on the AYCE menu! We tried the steamed scallops with garlic vermicelli, beef tataki and scallop sashimi which I believe were weekend items only. The steamed scallops were tasty and was surprised to see this item (total value add)! The beef tataki and scallop sashimi tasted fresh. I was also excited to try the torched pressed sushi which were all delicious (salmon, white tuna and shrimp). The grilled beef short ribs were also sweet and savoury. For dessert, we had the mango pudding and crème brûlée which were both satisfying treats to end our meal. There is also unlimited pop to go along with the dinner. The service was efficient and we were checked on throughout dinner. Overall a solid spot for AYCE!
It's been a long time since we had AYCE, but my better half asked where I wanted to go for my birthday, and I always enjoyed this restaurant. The prices have increased over the years, but the quality (for an AYCE) was pretty good. Some items were better than others, but I like that the dishes are small, and you can specify the quantity. The beef ribs, wings, udon, and tempura are some of my favorites. They all came out hot and fresh. On this visit, they didn't forget any of our orders (still done via iPad). Lunch is a better deal, but there are more items available on the dinner menu. Parking is easy during weekdays, but it's very congested on weekends. Current prices for Adults: LUNCH: Monday - Thursday: $25.95 Friday-Sun & Holidays: $26.95 DINNER: Monday - Thursday: $35.95 Friday-Sun & Holidays: $38.95
Was craving for some AYCE sushi and this place hit the spot! There's a good balance of sushi and hot food which is great because I actually enjoy more of the fried and hot food in AYCE. I went on a weekday which cost $35.95 ($38.95 on weekends). There's a 5% discount if you pay with cash FYI. I'm going to breakdown my review into 4 categories: sushi, hot food, dessert, and service. Sushi (3 stars) - their sashimi are delicious especially their beef sashimi, I had 5+ plates by myself - their sushi was just okay for me. The rice was a bit bland and they do pack a lot on each sushi, so if you want to try, make sure you don't over order Hot food (3.5 stars) - good variety of hot food (fried, rice, noodles, skewers) - I love tempura, but I'll say it's average here, nothing too special - beef skewers and the short ribs stood out for me, so definitely give those a try Dessert (4 stars) - I'm not a big sweets person, but I really enjoyed the selection they have. The coffee pudding and mango yogurt are must-get Service (4.5 stars) - There's a machine where you can put yourself on the waitlist which I really like as it gives you more flexibility to stay in there or go somewhere else until you receive a text - They had asked us if we want a booth or not when it was our turn which we appreciated - We didn't get a tablet, but ordered on our phone via QR code which was fine with us - Staff were friendly and attentive when you need something Overall, I would come back on a weekend to try the other items that weren't available on weekdays (scallop sushi, cooked scallop). Food is average for an AYCE, but I enjoyed the atmosphere that made it a better experience
All the sashimi and fish seem to be really high quality; everything is well cooked and well flavoured. Fried rice items are all excessively oily. The main seating area is very loud and crowded, but the back is quieter and better for larger parties. The day I went was extremely busy so they didn't have iPads available for our table, and we had to use our phones to order instead. Servers provide good service; they are always cleaning up finished plates, but can be hard to get ones attention when it's busy. read more
Went to 团长寿司 on a Saturday night for their all-you-can-eat Japanese buffet and had a pretty good experience overall. We waited around 10 minutes to get seated -- not bad considering how busy and lively the place was. The restaurant has a high ceiling and a very vibrant atmosphere, which makes it feel open and welcoming. Food: Lots of options! The sashimi selection was surprisingly wide, and the fish was fresh. There's also a fun ice cream station where you can get your own ice cream at the end, which kids (and adults!) will love. Service: Quick and efficient -- our orders came out fast, even with the weekend rush. Overall: A great spot if you're craving all-you-can-eat sushi with lots of choices and a lively vibe. Will definitely come back! read more
One of the better AYCE sushi places around town. High ceiling, bright design, Google wait list, cash 5% discount, VIP member or birthday month 10% discount. Senior - $6. Long wait though so make your reservations. Good food, decently fast service, alcohol license. They offer scallop sashimi for weekends too! Tempura fried nicely, they also have turtle jelly for dessert. Herring row, scallop, sweet shrimp sashimi available during weekends too Now there are appetizer, soup, salad, and soft serve self serve counter. read more

All you can eat sushi. I have come here a few times in the past. Quality seems to have dropped a bit. I remember coming here and food arrived fresh and piping hot each time in the past. Food arrived quite quickly and service was really fast this time. I did have an issue with my order on this visit, but the servers quickly fixed it as well since a piece of hair was found in my food. They made a new order and apologized for the inconvenience. The sushi rice wasn't seasoned too greatly this time and I found it to be flavourless unfortunately. You order all food items on an iPad and send your order. The day I visited was extremely busy, considering the busyness, they were able to get food items delivered in timely manner. The place is nicely decorated, a beautiful hallway leading to washroom with mirrors was quite serene, I felt like walking into a spa . The main area has high ceiling and modern lighting, quite beautiful as well. read more

This is my go-to Ayce sushi place in Scarborough. My family and I always celebrate birthdays/ special occasions here as they are able to accommodate large groups. Food: highly recommend salmon, tuna, scallop and surf clam sashimi always fresh given how busy they are . Rolls are pretty good overall sometimes rice can be a bit mushy. Large selection of cooked foods which are all cooked pretty well especially the chicken wings! If you prefer torched rolls kaka would be a better option. Service: average, difficult to flag down servers especially in the back room. I find you get better service if you speak Cantonese to them Overall, quality of the food is pretty good for the price you pay , I always feel like I can eat my moneys worth. read more
I have been eating here for more than 10 to 20 times for the past few years, and their quality has never changed. The variety and freshness of the sushi were impressive. The ambiance was inviting, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. I appreciated the value for money, as the price was reasonable for the quality and quantity of food offered. I'll definitely be returning for more delicious sushi! read more

Great AYCE sushi spot in Scarborough! Went for a friend's birthday dinner and we were all very satisfied with the food, service, ambiance and everything. read more
A friend recommended this restaurant for party trays advising it's great value with a decent variety! I finally got to try it last night. I ordered the 80 pieces for $55 which is almost unheard of. It had a variety of rolls as well as sashimi. It's definitely great value and enough for a party of six. I ordered by phone the afternoon of which gave the restaurant plenty of time to prepare my order. They also offered a 15% cash discount which is amazing! Upon pickup, I saw people dining in and were spaced very far apart, definitely keeping their distances which is great. Pickup was quick and easy also. They packed wasabi, soy sauce and disposable chopsticks with the tray. My only request for them for next time is to be a little more generous with napkins... I ordered an 80 piece party tray and they packed 3 pieces of napkins for me. Overall, it's great value and the food was fresh with a good variety. I will visit again when I'm in the area. read more
date visited Wed Feb 08, 2023 Chartwell Shopping Centre, 175 Commander Blvd unit 2, Scarborough, ON M1S 3M7 Overall Experience : 3.5/5 Comments : We have been dining in at Sushi Legend since 2016. I just haven't gotten around to the review until now LOL Service : 3/5 I find the service to be fair, not amazing or great. As of our most recent visit, we didn't receive a tablet to order our items from the Lunch AYCE, we were informed to scan a QR code and had to the use the link to order our items. Apparently now, the tablets are reserved for larger groups 3 or more? We only went for lunch. Tho they do allow for dinner AYCE ordering at Lunch. Price wise, their website does not have the current pricing. We paid about $27 per head for Lunch menu AYCE. Tho near the end of our meal, our server seemed to be rushing us. Food : 3/5 For what we did order, the items were good, no complaints. EXCEPT they did miss items a total of 3 items ordered if I recall were missed. Items we ordered : Tempura Shrimp, Tempura veggies, Chicken wings (2 per stick), miso soup, salmon teriyaki, rock shrimp, salmon w/cream cheese, green dragon roll, sexy summer roll, grilled eggplant, salmon sushi, squid sushi, red snapper sushi, bitter melon w/egg, eel fried rice. The ones that were missed : an order of salmon w/cream cheese, eel roll (6pce), sexy summer roll. Oh the shrimp tempura seems like not well strained? It was a big on the soggy side and not as crispy. I do wish they had more selection for the tempura veggies. Also not as many squid/calamari options on Lunch AYCE. For those that are managing Gout, there are enough options available to navigate possible gout triggers. I am able to manage around beef, pork, some of the other fish options. Drinks : n/a we had tea and made a request for warm water, since I'm diabetic, no soft drinks. Value for Money Spent : 4/5 As with the current economy. We find that going to a AYCE option is the best deal so to speak vs a-la-carte ordering. We feel that we still got our money's worth for the visit. In some places, our $65 CAD paid might only get us 3 dishes? Maybe 4? Worth repeat visit : 4/5 Of course!! We have been making return visits since 2016 read more
Haven't been to Sushi Legend since they first opened (around 3+ years ago now?) and I forgot how much I enjoy it there! The prices have gone up (not surprised) but not much else has changed. When you first walk in, there is a tablet to enter in your name and number to reserve your spot in line. Not sure when they brought that in but it's a really nice addition! I went in at a good time, just before the dinner rush on a weekday, so I just got seated right away. It got packed within 30 minutes of sitting there though. Once seated, our table was pretty filthy. Like if you put your phone down and tilted the table sideways, your phone would adhere and not fall off. The table looked like it was polka dotted with sticky spots of soya sauce and who knows what else... :S Our hostess walked off pretty quickly after seating us and it was hard to flag down someone to wipe it down so we just made due with our hand sanitizer and napkins. I really like ordering by tablet. It's quick and efficient. Unlike my previous few times going there, it was a glitch-free experience. Yay! The orders all went in without a hitch, nothing was forgotten or double up'ed. The service after putting in our orders was FAST. We were hungry enough that it was coming as fast as we were finishing eating it, it was a great pace! Most servers seemed polite, some even saying "you're welcome" after thanking them for whatever service action was happening at the time. I enjoy that on top of sushi items you can also get a substantial amount of other types of food to order as well. Some food highlights of our order were: spicy scallop roll, yuzu salmon sashimi, torched white tuna nigiri, grilled sanba, grilled beef ribs, and salmon sashimi. Some food low points: the spicy salmon roll was so oddly subdued in spice (to lets say) compared to the spicy scallop roll, salmon nigiri salmon pieces were basically like a sheer lingerie topping on some rice @_@ So overall, I was satisfied. I could have lived without the dirty table to start with (prob would've tried harder to flag someone if I wasn't so hungry to start with. I'm sure those soya sauce spots would've looked appetizing not too shortly afterwards...but still! Minus a star) and the couple of food low points were not a big deal in the long run. It was $31.95 per person - inclusive of AYCD soft drinks, iced tea and hot tea. I would definitely would go again to statisfy the AYCE sushi mood. read more
We were looking for all you can eat places and wanted to try a place which was found closed permanently. The we decided to try this place which was nearby. I was amazed by their decor and lineup system. You can either phone to make a reso, or drop in and put your name and phone number to get a reservation number. We went on a Monday night around 7pm, the lineup was not bad and we were seated after 5 minutes of waiting. The price was a little pricy at $30 per person for AYCE, but the menu was very intense with over 180 different kind of food to order from. From simple appetizer edamame to torched sushi aburi, all of them are included in the menu. The ordering system is also high tech and environmental. Each table gets an iPad to order from. I was very impressed with the freshness and how fast the orders came. The sashimi was fresh, and aburi pieces are on point. Even though the portions are smaller, but there is no limitation on any of them, so you can order the same dish as many times as you want! Overall, We were really happy with this place. The food quality and the decor are outstanding, service was not so bad either. I wish we have this in Vancouver, and I will definitely be back if I'm in town again. read more
5 out of 5 stars Order a 40pcs platter. Overall, everything was excellent in quality. Very fresh. I was very surprised they gave a spider rolls as part of the maki, usually they would give the cheaper rolls such as avocado or California roll. read more
Ordered a party tray during the lunch hours around 11:30 when they opened via Uber for pick up. The sushi tray took over an hour and a half to make so I didn't receive it until 1p.m ish. Kinda late in my books for sushi. I kept refreshing my app and the estimated completion time just kept adding more time. I think they were busy but it was still kind of crazy for that kind of wait so I hope they are able to speed up their sushi making process. Sushi wise was just standard. I ordered the sushi sashimi and roll tray (60pcs) for $55 plus hst. There was not much to rave about but nothing to complain about either. The roll and sushi sizes were a decent size but the sashimi was sliced thinly. Not sure if I would return purely based on the wait time and the standard taste of the sushi. I feel there are other places that make trays a little more delicious. read more

So many choices at this restaurant! We went on a weekend dinner, and were able to sample a huge variety of dishes. Favourites: - Scallop sashimi is sweet and fresh (the sashimi selection in general is great and the fact that you can get egg sashimi is a plus) - Taro, eggplant, shrimp tempura - Steamed egg is soft and flavourful - Taro sago soup - Coffee and mango yoghurt desserts - Soft drinks are included, so I got to make a ice cream float :) Disappointments: - Pressed sushi (way too much rice and mayo, barely any fish) - Creme brulee texture is good, but the taste is too eggy - Octopus balls (lots of flour) In general, I really enjoyed the delicious and varied options here. The internal decor is also very nice with lots of interesting light fixtures. The restaurant is large but busy, so be sure to make a reservation. read more

Quite disappointed with my post covid visit. The food used to be amazing, but this time around it was exceptionally bland, the seasoning has mostly disappeared. I also had some shrimp skewers, they were soaked in oil, and the oil tasted like it was expired. We also had some rolls that were smothered in their mango sauce, there was something off about this as well, the sauce had some funky taste. The food also took quite a while to get here, I'm not sure if the cooks/chef were new or if they just didn't ha e enough staff but we waited after every order we placed for our food to trickle in. We came here Becuase they have the tarp sago, and was the only reason we asked for the dinner menu, only to find out that they didn't have this item in stock. They also didn't have the tiramisu... so basically everything they charged me for dinner menu price was not available for $35.95 a person. We were thoroughly disappointed. The staff were pleasant, and the place was clean but definitely not worth the price tag anymore, the sushi tasted like take out. read more
