OH MY GOODNESS! Why have I subjected myself to other places that are absolutely subpar to this adorable cafe in NM? Ok, I am being a little dramatic here but the cafe was phenomenal; the food was delicious and the service was better! We popped (no reservation) in on a Thursday at 11am, Satomi was our server and the food and service was impeccable! The bread with strawberry butter, was incredible! I ordered the finger sandwiches and they were so good, the cucumber salad was delicious and my husband order the salmon tacos. He said the tacos were very good! I love that the menu is small, the cafe is boutique and I love the attentive level of service that you get here, its not overwhelming or "hovery", its the right amount! Tucked inside the Neiman Marcus on the lower level, this department store cafe was way more upscale than I expected. In fact, I was pretty much slumming it in my flag football outfit, so I tucked myself into the corner of the bar. Their barstools are actually tall director chairs which are awkward to seat yourself with. Turkey breast sandwich was pretty basic, though the tomato slice was bordering on mushy. Didn't quite catch the mayo flavoring, but the horseradish mustard was a plus. Seasonal fruit didn't taste like it was out of a can, but it was diced awkwardly small for their fork size. I'd asked for the ham & beans soup of the day, but the gentleman who took my order was hard of hearing and I was let down by the grainy tortilla soup. This stuff is not worth the premium when you can get better at chain sandwich franchises for half the price. I was disappointed to find out that they didn't offer popovers at this location... because the ovens in their kitchen were too small? I raised an eyebrow at the excuse but still enjoyed my monkeybread with strawberry butter, and accepted the offer of a second helping. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of my lunch. Stereotypical Neiman Marcus clientele populate this cafe on the weekends; I was definitely the youngest customer there by a decade or two. If you are shopping at Neiman Marcus at The Galleria, you expect nothing but the best quality. This is also true of their lovely cafe, beautifully decorated, phenomenal food, and great service. I was treated to this exceptional lunch with GF Hannah Hong. We were greeted by our waitress and viewed their special menu, as well as the main menu. I loved the elegantly set table and the soft clover rolls with strawberry butter. We ordered the tomato and vegetable soup that was topped with goat cheese. Lots of tomato flavor and large chunks of well cooked vegetables. The broth was light and flavorful. Next, we ordered the crab and shrimp salad. There was a large portion of crab, a few shrimp, cucumbers, avocado, eggs, tomato, lettuce, and a creamy rich remoulade dressing. It was refreshing and large. The seafood was fresh and delightful. Hannah had the key lime pie and I ate the oven warm chocolate chip cookies. They were both decadent and delicious. The service was superb. Thank you Hannah. I came here with my aunt,mother and grandma for lunch since my aunt was raving about how amazing lunch is here. The wait was a bit long since the cafe is kind of small and stuffy but it helps that they give you a buzzer so that you can look around a bit while you wait. The Pull a part rolls that they give for free are really good with the strawberry whipped butter it actually had chunks of fruit in it. I ordered the Moroccan Grilled Chicken Wrap it wasn't bad pretty filling for a wrap. The tomatillo salad dressing for the side salad was a bit on the salty side. Overall:decent experience staff was pretty attentive; a bit pricey but your at neiman marcus lol. Very happy experience. We went to the Cafe to save time while shopping and it was so good we drove to TC the next week just to eat there. I had the chicken salad and bottomless iced tea - a rarity In These parts. My friend had the salmon tacos. The service was better than excellent. Very clean and covid conscious set up. We received fresh, hot Parker house rolls with real butter when we sat down and the meal was very large portions. The NM Cafe is located on the first level of Neiman Marcus, just to the east of the escalators. The menu boasts in using locally-sourced ingredients, all-natural and seasonal items, and more focused on offering healthier options. My GF, JOY B., and I came here to have some lunch before doing some mall wanderings. We waited a few minutes before being seated (there was no host/hostess) and were served water and a plate of a roll and cup of strawberry butter. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have the famous cheese popovers as the other NM Cafes do; the roll could have been a bit more warm, but I did like the change of the regular butter being served as a strawberry version instead. We started off with the Roasted Tomato & Vegetable Soup (this contained tabbouleh and topped with crumbled goat cheese - I loved that the soup was served extra extra hot; slightly thinner than what I usually prefer, but it was still pretty okay and healthy-tasting). For our main entree, we both tried the Crab & Shrimp Louie salad (I believe they used a whole Romaine lettuce - one that was just halved, and the other half chopped; this was topped with a small amount of lump crab, two pieces of tail-off, deveined shrimp, sliced hardboiled egg, some chunks of avocado, a generous amount of sliced cucumber, diced tomatoes, and a side of Louie dressing (that was more like non-chunkier version of a Thousand Island sauce); the salad itself was a little underwhelming, as I thought with the price listed, you would get a bit more of a generous helping of the crab and the shrimp; I think I should have gone with more of a savory-ish salad, like the Cafe Cobb or the Asian Chicken). For dessert, we tried the NM chocolate chip cookies (these were slighted warmed, so the chocolate chips were nice and melty; it's not crunchy as I remember them being, but I think the Cafe purposely warms them a little bit to make it all nice and gooey - still pretty tasty!; it comes in a small NM gift box, so it's easier to carry the leftovers (if you have any!); I had a slice of their Key Lime pie, which was more sweeter than tart, and it was just okay. Our server was super nice, attentive, and efficient, and checked up on us to make sure that everything was going well. I also liked our little spot in the corner which made it more intimate and we had a clearer view of the whole Cafe. The restaurant has an elegant, but a contemporary vibe, and there isn't really a dress code. Reservations are taken and recommended, as the Cafe does get semi-busy during the lunch hours. I may be interested in trying out their sandwiches or their main entrees the next time, but I most likely will return to the other NM Cafe locations instead. I'm obsessed with Neiman Marcus restaurants. They're always a great people watching spot, and give insight into the wealth communities of a particular town. Tysons, I'm sorry, you are low on the Neiman Marcus dining totem pole. Early on, this NM Cafe did well. In fact the highlight, hands down, was their take on the famed NM popover (with strawberry butter, natch!). Served warm, the Tysons version was whole wheat. Thumbs up! My friend and I opted for a cheeseburger and the grilled salmon salad. The burger was so-so-- a bit overcooked with an inappropriately large chunk of tomato (we ordered a salad for our veggie quota, thanks). The fries that came with it were flavorless and cold. The salad was better-- hearts of palm, asparagus, nice green selection. The salmon was pretty good, though came with a hunk of cheese butter atop it (I know it's a Texas chain but c'mon people). Service was fine. Atmosphere was upscale-nursing-home-meets-mall-food-court. Overall, not worth the price. read more

PICK UP Order Review I have ordered multiple times from NM Cafe and they just can't seem to get it right. Every single time - there was a mistake with the order. Instance #1 - An entire entree (Salmon Tacos) was left out despite me asking the server whether all pick-up orders were included. Instance #2 - Multiple entree orders had basic alterations to their orders (e.g. No Cheese, No nuts etc). None of them were properly executed. Instance #3 - Our bill included an additional fruit side and entree order. I inquired on that order and the server noted that it was for a different table and was misplaced on my bill. From an establishment like Neiman Marcus - I expect top notch service to go along with their STEEP prices. Overall - the food is average and portions are reasonable. One star up - For the highlight of their meal is always the butter roll with strawberry butter. Not sure what is in it - but it's just straight delicious. read more

I like to stop by here when I shop at Neiman Marcus. It's located at the ground floor inside the NM in Tyson. It's a cozy space without windows and always full of ladies customers at lunch time. This is not a typical fashionable cafe and not the best for mood though, It's always very clean and convenient. I like the small bar counter for a quick bite during shopping, and actually their grilled shrimp salad is pretty good. The waters are always very friendly and nice and they are well mannered, great service. I like their side too - warm bread with strawberry butter is delicious. I have passed this cafe so many times and have always wondered to myself how could a cafe inside a department store stay in business. Much to my surprise, I came here on a Sunday and it was very busy.; many people were streaming in and out. They bring you bread with some sort of strawberry butter, which was phenomenal! The bread was fluffy and the butter was sweet. I think one could easily be full from that alone. The majority of the people were eating salads, but I got the tuscan chicken melt and today's sampler with broccoli cheddar and chicken salad. The tuscan chicken melt came with a side salad with balsamic vinegar dressing. I had to learn the hard way to NOT pour the entire dressing into the salad as it turns out to be extremely sour. Although when mixed with the chicken salad it is not bad. The chicken salad was ok but they do have celery in it, which I personally do not like. So when it was time to pay, I used my perk card and credit card. The server was extremely rude by pointing out the grand total and not the remaining balance charged to my credit card. DUH! I know that since I'm paying with the perk card. I am not trying to stiff you out of your tip, but at that point I sure lowered what I was originally going to give. So this place has pretty good food, but is expensive as is with everything else in Neiman Marcus. The servers do not treat you kindly so I will not be back. read more

It's difficult to disappoint when you've already set your expectations pretty low, but NM Cafe did a pretty good job of achieving this feat. Although neither of us expected that the food would be particularly good, we decided that, considering the countless weekends we spend at Tysons Galleria, we should at least give the NM Cafe a try. We were off to a great start with the warm bread and strawberry butter at the beginning of the meal. Hey, maybe this place will actually exceed expectations! And then our sandwich dishes arrived, and all hope was shattered. I order the sampler, consisting of a half sandwich (I ordered turkey), cup of soup (don't be fooled by the name "pasta fagioli." It's pretty much minestrone soup), and "fresh fruit." The sandwich was incredibly sad. The bread must have been toasted at some point in its life, but by the time it arrived at the table it was cold and extremely tough. In between the nearly inedible bread was a thin slice of dry turkey, one sheet of lettuce, and the nearly end-piece of a tomato. After a few bites, I gave up and worked on my mediocre, but edible, minestrone soup. I also passed on the "fresh" fruit which had dried around the edges, looking like it had spent some time in its sliced and plated state. My husband fared better with the grilled cheese. The bread was actually nicely buttered and toasted, and a thick layer of cheese oozed out from between the slices. There was some sort of chunky tomato jam that was a little confusing at first due to its sweetness, but it did grow on me as I worked my way through the sandwich. My husband seemed to be OK with his butternut squash soup, although I found it to be too watery. I few stabs at the limp salad and a taste of the extremely sour vinaigrette, and we were very much done with our meal. I think my sulky expression and the barely-touched state of my sandwich tipped off the staff as to our disappointment. While they went around the restaurant a couple of times to ask if everyone was enjoying their meals, they passed us by each time after a few sidelong glances in our general direction. When the check came, it was accompanied by a single melty thin mint for our table of two diners. This may be an OK place to stop by for a coffee and maybe to snag a few rolls while shopping, but I think I've satisfied any curiosity I had about the food here. read more

I'm special annoying food allergy person, he never makes me feel like I am putting him out with my special needs unlike 90 percent of other establishments. The wait staff is always so sweet, polite and it doesn't go unnoticed the point to remember my name. Sean I've noticed stops by tables to check on customers and say hello, I know its silly but the extra touches is why I shop and eat at NM. I do have a habit of starting out with good intentions with the lemonade pomegranate drink and then Sean will appear with a suggestion of wine pairing that has me quite happy for my shopping trip ( I blame NM Cafe buying under wine influence). After my leisurely lunch I indulge in a proper cappuccino, proper in that they know how to make one; this is no small feet in the area. The models that walk around are also an enjoyable plus, I'm still dreaming of this red fur coat I saw two winters ago. I have sways been going to NM cafe with my mom for a long time then she retired, decided to move back home. The service you receive at NM cafe is fabulous. You are greeted as you walk in to be seated (FYI: if you get there, you may have to wait unless you have a reservation or as soon as they open up at 11) and once you're seated the sever will come introduce herself and go over any specials for day. They start you out with NM complimentary home made roll with whipped strawberry butter that is ridiculously delicious. My friends treated me to nice Birthday/Valentines luncheon on Friday, I ordered turkey havarti cheese on ciabatta bread with little side salad and cup of diced fruit. I ate all the fruit and salad along with half of the sandwich. It was just too much food and I was already full from having two rolls wi Th strawberry butter . This place is a little gem! I like that it seems off the beaten path from the normal Neiman's mad dash (from the entrance to the rest of the mall). It's tucked into the corner downstairs, but, when you do find it, you're welcomed with a smile. It's a modestly appointed venue for a Neiman's product that offered no disappointments! The staff was attentive, the food options were seasonally relevant and those damn rolls in the beginning were addictive! They are accompanied by fruit spread and actually melt in your mouth...talk about gastronomic deliciousness. I had the lobster Cobb salad and something sparkling to drink. Sometimes you feel like a fancy lunch and sometimes you just want something low key and tasty. NM has some great salads... I've always loved the orange soufle. It is a bit cramped and sometimes there is a short wait, but I've always come away feeling I had something a little special and different than all the chain places in the mall. read more
