Against my better judgement after reading some of the other reviews on here before, I stopped in for a gel manicure after the gym. As I was greeted and able to get started right away which was great. Until I was pretty much rushed to decide on a color. The woman was very quick to do everything - took no time to pay attention to detail in which I had to point out several things I'd like her to follow through with finishing. She was also extremely unfriendly, until it came time to pay of course. The only reason I am even giving 2 is due to the high selection of gel colors available to pick. Despite being 5 minutes away from home, I will be sticking with my normal salon in Tukwila. read more

This is after my second visit, and I am completely sold. The owners are very pleasant, and fun to to talk to. Everyone is personable, and professional. -- On my second visit, I already knew what I wanted. The deluxe pedicure is heaven! I have yet to try their other options, but the foot wrap is heavenly! I brought in my own color that I wanted over the base color, and there were no problems with that. They have a very large selection of colors. I love that all the employees that work here are gentle on your feet. Their materials that they use are quality, and their towels are nice and plush. (Not rough) The massages I get with the pedicure aren't harsh, and I actually feel refreshed after each visit. I don't ever find myself repeating instructions, but sometimes need help with explaining what I want done (The girls here are so wonderful, It sucks that there is a slight language barrier, but they aren't resentful if you try to explain.) I love that they always have entertaining things on their large TV, and the audio is easy to listen to, without having to strain your ears, and it doesn't effect your overall relaxation. The chairs are nice and plush, and the back massagers in the chairs are gentle on your back. I also find that these specific models are very good for taller customers, and my legs do not feel cramped. Overall, I love this place, and highly recommend it to anyone who frequents this area. The competition is no where near the level of professionalism this salon carries. I will miss my old salon (mainly because of the friendliness of the ladies that took care of me) but I must say after two plus years, I haven't seen any improvement in my old salon. :( I hope NK gets to stick around! I've had my nails done all over town and this is the best full set I've EVER gotten. I'm 3 days away from 3 weeks which is too long I know but no other set of nails has EVER lasted this long. Absolutely NO LIFTING at all. Anyway it's pretty amazing. I want to go back but I am so busy working! I've had 2 deluxe pedicures here too. Really nice. Consistent and thorough and a very good price. I was hopeful that this would become my go to nail shop since I live close by. Upon entering, my friend & I were greeted warmly. However, after she repeatedly declined their shellac services she was brushed off & told to have a seat. I was getting a basic mani/pedi. Not to draw this out but bottom line my pedi tech was unfriendly. I wasn't offered a menu of services as the woman sitting next to me. She also seemed bothered by me and barely spoke to me. This normally wouldn't be a big deal but if you move on to the next client that's new in town & are personable...it kind of stands out. Maybe I did something to trigger a negative interaction, idk. I will definitely return! Super friendly staff, a good selection of polish and very good customer service. I was a walk-in and they were able to see me right away. Their shop is brand-new and modern, and clean enough to eat off the floor! I also love the hot towels they use in the hand massage as well as the warm air that blows from the drying fans instead of ice-cold air :) I had a super comfortable experience in a very stylish, clean salon and I can't wait to come back! I made an appointment for noon , sat down at 12:04 she started right away after she went and got me a water ( they give you a drink soda, wine , water while your getting your service done ) DO NOT pay for extra stuff on a pedicure it says extra massage etc just get the reg one they don't spend any extra time on you they just want that extra money from you ! I was in and out under an hour and that's with an eye brow and lip wax , they are Always busy and I thinks that's why they skimp on time but they shouldn't advertise a full hour if that's not what they are providing I paid extra for the paraffin wax and extra massage for 35$ and got like maybe 35 mins and got my waxing down I was legit in and out of there under an hour , also you can't get a punch card if you pay with card they want cash in order to do a punch card . I was introduced to NK Nails by my BFF co-worker, who claimed that her shellac manicure held up for three weeks. I had to see this for myself, since the manicures I get at my longtime salon up here on California Ave. only last a week - ten days. Upon entering the fairly new salon (next door to Chico's in Westwood Village), you are warmly greeted by the owner who asks what services you need. Everything was expertly done and my nails have truly lasted three weeks!! My pedicure from last weekend is still looking good, though I would have liked it better if the person doing the pedicure wasn't wearing gloves. I get my nails done every 10 days. I don't always need a manicure, so today I just wanted a shellac color change. I could tell my lady was a little put off by this and she was talking under her breathe several times when she asked me to relax my hand. I felt like I was rushed since it was not a full service. I'm so sad to have to write this review. I've been a regular at NK for months now. Last week I came to get my usual shellac pedicure and fill w/shellac. The woman (Mary) talked me out of my usual fill. She told me that my nails were super weak (they are) and that CND would be much better.I said ok, I'd try it, even though the switch came with a major price tag $$$ I ended up paying over $100 for my nails and felt happy when I left. Within days, my nails started bending and falling off. By the 8th day I had no choice but to rip them all off myself because the bending was tearing my real nails and was so painful. I've been going here for the last year and a half and I haven't been disappointed. You can pretty much always get in without an appointment which is super nice. They're hours are extended which is really nice for getting in after work. I've always had great service here. They offer you beer, wine or champagne with a service greater than $25. I consistently get the dip (SNS) manicure and am impressed with the quality of the color and manicure itself. They have a ton of color options across dip, gel and regular polish. FINALLY Found a Wonderful Technician at NK Nails!!!!!!!!!!! I have searched High and Low for a good nail technician in Seattle and all surrounding areas for the last 4 years. I am a perfectionist and my standards are definitely very particular. Prior to Mary's work at NK Nails, other Seattle nail technicians seemed to ALWAYS leave me dissatisfied. My nails have been burned from too much drilling. Cuticles have been cut multiple times, filed and then carelessly soaked in acetone or sprayed with alcohol after shellac (the burning sucks!). I began to just accept it as part of the 'status quo' at one point. My nails were never symmetrical and usually bulky. Once, I was even told I couldn't get long, lithe looking nails because of my "fingers". Bulky, unsymmetrical, cut up nails NO MORE :) I am SO HAPPY and Very Pleased with Mary at NK nails! I can not attest to other technicians... But She knows what she is doing! She is gentle, swift and pays attention to detail. My nails are not bulky or uneven!!! Again - felt massively rushed and it didn't seem like something they really do a lot of. Three people cycled in/out with varying levels of skill. One woman just slapped some wax on my leg and ripped the cloth off, without tightening the skin, etc. I've been waxing for years and damn, that hurt. Many, many missed spots. This is my favorite nail place in Seattle. Their new location is spacious and clean. With their new location comes all new massage chairs and equipment. I appreciate it. When you get a pedicure, they line the basins with a very large plastic bag that kinda looks like a shower cap. Their tools are sanitized because I see they rip open a set of tools from their sanitizing ovens. The nail technicians are professional. Lots of colors to choose from and I don't think they dilute their colors to make them last longer like some places. Best part is they serve you a glass of wine, beer, soda, tea etc if your service is more than $15. They have a punch card deal where if you pay in cash and your service is more than $15 you get a stamp. For every 10 stamps you get $15 off. Not great but better than nothing I suppose. read more

This place is great depending on who you get! I went here back in June to get my acrylics done for prom. I loved it so much that I came back! But, this time, someone else did my acrylics and did AWFUL! She did them so fast and barely looked at what she was doing. I can't remember who I had last time (an older blonde woman) but this time I had Tina. My acrylics are uneven, not covering my full nail, and there was nail polish all over my cuticles. I had my nails done here with my mother as a birthday gift. My acrylic was so thick on my nails, didn't file them down at all. They lasted 2 days and already broke off. Total waste of money. My mom was upset with the work she got and was told if she wanted long nails and square shape. She was told they would have to charge, my mom said she was okay with that and ended up getting short nails and coffin style anyway. We had to show them 5 different nail styles because they weren't capable of doing any designs. Horrible experience won't ever go back. read more

My go-to nail place! They do a great job on my every-other-week gel manicures and pedicures. Quality is better and they last longer than the place near my work that charges almost 2x as much. Very clean, very nice and attentive staff, never too crowded. And they give you a free drink! I've had several different technicians and haven't had complaints with any of them. Plus it's convenient to Target, QFC, etc, so easy to make it part of your weekend errands. I rarely give 5 stars because it seems hyperbolic, but I couldn't think of a negative! I have been a regular customer for a few months now but mostly because of the convenience and there is never a wait. To get a regular acrylic fill plus nail polish is $15 (great) but I have weekly repairs and the acrylic lifts of my nail, so my cost goes up anyway. The quality of work is not there. You really just get what you pay for which is convenience. I've been to 3 different nail techs and 2 out of the 3 were really rough. The 3rd worked really fast and as a result, my nails were again lifting a week later. I'm not sure if that's from going fast or maybe the quality of materials they are using. I have been going there for a couple months now and I've never had a problem but on Saturday I went into get my nails done and took about 2 hour. After I left I was satisfied and happy two days later one of my nails broke (this never happens with me) so I went back in on Tuesday to get my nail redone when I walked in one of the guys asked what I needed and told me to sit down and wait for Mary. When Mary came she was cold, she had her AirPods in and was watching a show on tv she didn't say anything at all to me and didn't even ask how my day was. She put the wrong color polish down and didn't care at all. Mary was rude and at the end she said "ok go get up and pay" I was thinking that it would be a free job since I JUST got my nails done 2 days prior. I go up there and look down at my nail and my nails was crooked to the point it looked like I was point my finger a different way while keeping them all straight it looked so bad. I told the guy up front and he said something to Mary in their language then he said go to table 1 and Lynn re did my nail which is struggled with because she messed up so bad. 9 years... I've sent my customers here. As, They ALL still frequent this supposed "place of business". 9 years!!! I, myself have been loyal. We bring in a substantial amount of money. To be spoken to, the way that I was spoken to today... Whew!!! I will NEVER be back. That little ashy c*** that works for minimum wage with the 9,000 split ends is very lucky that I'm not as immature as I used to be. As Jail is a great place to get great sleep. I own three businesses. If something isn't right. I fix it. End of story. She had the audacity to get loud with me and call me broke in front of customers. ME! What if I was? With nothing to lose??? Over $6 dollars. All because I had the nerve to finally speak up for myself. Which I never do. Unless, I can actually come back in the following day. But, if you're running businesses you won't have time to be in the nail shop every other day. If the same nail breaks the very next day? Every single time??? Not once... not twice... But, every single time???? I figured it was because I always had a huge bubble in the middle when the acrylic was laid. But, still... I remained loyal. I always pay what is asked of me. Without hesitation. I stayed loyal through the price changes and everything. I will say that, when the actual owners are there. I don't have to worry about this, at all. I love them and my nail techs. But, little Cunty??? Idk if she wanted me to punch her teeth down her throat or what? But, I had to walk away. I have more to lose than a little job. And a temper that is unmatched. I also have CAREERS. ISSA CONGLOMERATE!!! And, I wasn't about to keep arguing with her. Bringing the business down more than her unprofessional ass already was. Over $6 dollars!!! It's literally the principle. And, honestly the bum has been acting like she had a problem with me the last three times I've been there. Spending my hard earned money.
