I have been seeing Bren for years now... and she is the brow master. And my brows are not easy, I have Korean caterpillar brows that grow down and are kind of wide and sparse. She is able to give them a nice arch and shape without whittling them down to sad thin lines (which has happened with other estheticians). She is also a wonderful and friendly person and small business owner. And I feel her prices are very reasonable. She is taking COVID-19 guidance seriously. Since she is a one-woman shop, she only allows one person in at a time and allows extra time to sanitize between clients. She also has a face shield, hand sanitizer ready, takes my temperature, and has disposable paper on the bed. And starting now, she is also taking Venmo- super handy! Also pre-COVID-19, I had several facials with her, and seriously dozed off a little, they were so relaxing. :) read more

Bren, Bren, WHY DID I CHEAT ON YOU WITH IZABELLE?? She knew what she was doing, but had no finesse. She didn't care if she hurt me. She didn't care that her stuff was too hot. She almost made fun of me when she saw my bottom. Worst of all, she charged me more than you do! No more Brazilians from Izabelle! I had never been to anyone but Bren before 03/08/07, and now I realize that I'd been spoiled by the best. Bren knows exactly what she's doing, and she does it fast, professionally, and with minimal discomfort, all while not being a drone or a grump. I don't care if it's a long-ass drive from Woodinville to West Seattle... I'm going to stay loyal from now on, I swear. ================================= Endorphins and smooth skin... what more can you ask for? Bren does a wonderful job and will wax any part of you without making you feel embarrassed... and I mean ANY part of you! The great thing about waxing is that it doesn't hurt much or for long and the results last a long time. I go every six weeks and never shave my legs or pluck my eyebrows. TMI warning for the guys... avert your gaze... Bren's most popular service is the Brazilian wax, removing as much of the hair as you like from your nether regions, front to back. I typically get it all gone... it's wonderful to be so smooth! I don't get into the little-girl aspect of it, but it's easier to stay clean, it's very sensitive for the first week or so afterwards, and no stray hairs ever escape your swimsuit! My last long-term boyfriend, my in-between fling, and my fiance all LOVE it, to the point of offering to pay for the service for me. :-) Bren's prices are reasonable. Her spa is a lovely little place. Because she has only one client at a time, she will lock the door... don't let that surprise you. It's always easy to get an appointment within 10 days, though I typically make my next appointment when I get the service done. Bren's also very careful about hygeine and cleanliness; clean tools, linens, etc. are used for each client, and she always wears clean gloves. If you've considered waxing, I think you should try it. It is liberating to never shave. It doesn't hurt much, or for long, really... it stings for maybe half an hour. No biggie. You can handle it! :-) read more

Easy parking, quick response, very friendly, easy to converse with. Unfortunately this was probably my worst waxing experience. Painful. Very very very slow. I now go to the wax bar where even a full Brazilian wax takes a fraction of the time and seems to remove more and the pain is minimal. Not sure on what causes the difference since hair levels were the same on all my experiences, but I can't recommend this place like others have. And I went here based on the reviews and I don't like giving lower rated ones. read more

I moved to Seattle from Olympia, where resides likely the best waxer in the universe, simply named Angel. Most of my waxes since the move have been from her - she was worth the drive and worth the wait. But I heard so much good about Bee Waxed and it was in my neighborhood, so I made an appointment for a much-needed you-know-what. I'm brave and I'm picky about these things. I was also needy enough of the service at the time that I was willing to pay sixty bucks instead of Angel's sweet, sweet forty-five. Before tip, natch. So, I saw Bren one rainy November night and admired the creative ambiance of her shop while I waited a few minutes for the service prior to mine to conclude. Bren is incredibly courteous and professional - she has a cultivated bedside manner, has the essential waxer conversationality, and is very personable. She showed more concern than anyone ever has for matching her choice of wax to my skin type - which was actually unnecessary, as I've always tolerated whatever wax was used on me, but still a good professional touch. Technique-wise, she used strip wax and a creamy hard wax and utilized slapping other skin after the pulls to distract from pain. Her genuine caring about the pain is really sweet, but I also have been waxed enough that I didn't need the extra time and slaps to deal with it. It's really OK - it's a fleeting pain. However, the extra time was fine, because Bren is great to spend it with. She's a pro. There was one thing that put me off a little, though - I was asked if I wanted "the back" done. For Christ's sake, a Brazilian includes the back. Don't make it an add-on. Don't make me say, "yes, do the back, please." Just put me on my side and do it. This is just a pet peeve of mine. I take responsibility for it. Like most waxers, she also requires you to hold a lot of your own skin taut. I realize this is normal, but somehow Angel could do Brazilians with only strip wax and without ever having me manipulate my flesh around to give a good pulling surface. I kind of think that's the sort of wax one should aspire to give, and for what it's worth, I'm now an esthetician and am beginning to suss out these wily techniques. read more

I have never seen someone so excited about eyebrows! I think Bren was actually a little giddy when I asked if we could add eyebrows to my appointment. She spent what seemed like 10 minutes discussing the different angles and shapes we could wax to, verses the angles and shapes Mother Nature has already given me. I really wanted to like Bee Waxed. Really. The atmosphere is tranquil and inviting, the services are reasonable, and Bren is warm and genuine. However, when everything was said and done, I just wasn't happy with the service. My brows came out slightly uneven - not a good thing when you're talking about your face, and quite a few obvious hairs were missed. I had to gome home and remove the strays myself with tweezers when I got back home. Strange, considering how much time was spent with each brow - a good 10 minutes. Maybe Bren was just having an off day. The spa is so convenient I'll likely give them another chance - but if I come out with crooked brows again next time we're going to have to 'bee waxed' elsewhere. read more

I believe I saw the owner of the shop for a brazilian wax and she was the absolutely sweetest woman. This 1 star rating however was based on my brazilian experience. Definitely the most painful brazilian i've ever gotten. I'm great with pain, tattoos, piercings, waxing, all easy for me to sit through. However, the wax i received here was an hour of groveling pain. I'm used to quick estheticians, no longer than 20-30 min waxes. So that is my first complaint - it took wayyyyy too long. And the pain was due to her pulling the strips off the wrong way. I asked her 3 times to stop and she was like "oh, i know waxing hurts! especially brazilians!" but in my head i was like "no lady i do this all the time - this is not the same - and i want to quit the session!!!" I've never gone back for a brazilian//never plan to. I did however enjoy the ambiance, the music, and the personality of the woman waxing me. read more

I have gotten two Brazilians and an eyebrow wax from Bren while pregnant. They say that your skin is more sensitive when your pregnant so it can be more painful, however Bren did a great job making sure I was comfortable each time. I always thought my eyebrows looked just fine- but as soon as I met Bren she let me know I needed her help. She closely observed my facial structure and created an arch that looked best with my face. I recently moved to W.Seattle and had been getting my Brazillian in my old neighborhood. I loved my old place. However I went to Bee Waxed on Friday and was amazed at how well this went. We all know this isn't the most fun of things. But I must say on the pain-meter. This was the least pain I've ever had. She also uses a few different techniques in different areas. The clean up as well. Often times I'm still finding wax on the privates for a few days. She made sure that was all gone. I am extremely happy I gave this place out and would suggest you do it too. Wow! I had my first appointment with Bren this morning for a Brazilian and I am floored. I've been getting sugared for the past couple of years faithfully by the same woman, and after all the ingrown hairs and bumps with no treatment, I decided to try something new. I am so glad I stumbled upon Bee Waxed!! The wax was completely painless and so relaxing. Bren walks you through everything she's doing and made it very comfortable for my first time with her. She put this towel with I think rose oil over my eyes and it was so nice and relaxing and something I'd never experienced at the other expensive wax spots I'd been to. The wax was over before I knew it and I was so shocked because of how painless it was. She got me all oiled up and moisturized and even gave me a product for my ingrown hair/bumps! Lindsay waxes my brows every 3 weeks and does an impeccable job every time! She begins the service with a quick aromatherapy "hello" followed by a brief neck and scalp massage. Once you are nice and relaxed, she proceeds to wax the brows and then--at least for my bushy brows--follows up with tweezing and trimming. The calming pre-wax massage makes the experience something I look forward to rather than dread! I have also had one facial by Lindsay and loved it--she does a fabulous job of incorporating aromatherapy and massage into her waxing and skincare services. Also, I have very sensitive skin and have not had any adverse reactions to the products used here. My only complaint is that Bee Waxed does not accept debit/credit cards, so I always have to remember to bring cash or checks. But with a great service at only $20 per brow wax (I am used to paying $25), I won't complain too much! read more

I've been only once, and that was because a girlfriend swore by her. I suspect it was due more to the fact that Bren's shop was within walking distance from her home, and of course, getting waxed down there is very personal and you don't want a random person every time. Unless you're me. Brazillians are expensive dammit, and I'll go to where I have a Groupon, Tippr, or LivingSocial deal! Bren's Brazillian was nothing special. She got the job done, but yes, had me pull taut a lot when I felt she should know how to manipulate the skin better. I'm a Vet at this, so pain wasn't a factor. I didn't plan on getting my eyebrows waxed, but she did it for a reduced price because "I just have to make it perfect- it's almost there!" It was bugging her so much, apparently. So only 3 stars because she was pretty decent, but nothing was special to put her over the top of any of the other estheticians. read more
