DO NOT go here. I booked two appointments right before a trip and I just wanted a mani and pedi. Simple. The space is large and the seating is comfortable. They offer you a drink which is nice. However, the nail polishes are all old. You can tell because they're thick. I don't know if the gel polishes are better but I didn't want gel because of how damaging it is to your nails. The technician did a horrible job. The nails weren't cut and shaped even and the polish wasn't neat. It was similar with my friend who I also booked the appointment for. The color wore off within a day. We spent over $150 and it was disappointing that the color was gone within a day. Like the other reviews say -- this is a major factory. I was hoping to have a neighborhood salon that I could repeatedly go to. But this place isn't it. It's like a revolving door of customers. This nail salon has raised their prices to an astronomical price point without the quality. It cost me over $100 to get a dip manicure with chrome and in less than a week those expensive nails started lifting off of my nail bed. They use low quality product for the dip manicure, and now charge far more than any other nail salon. They used to be OK. They were never great but they used to be OK. They are no longer even OK. I had been searching for a nail salon near me for sometime. I was thrilled to come across NK nails given its size, walk-in availability (no appointment needed), location and prices. One other perk is the fact that I didn't feel as if I was being stared at for being the only male taking care of my claws and paws. After all, I'm on my feet a lot for work so this pampering is necessary. I was assigned Tiffany, who was very nice and offered me an alcoholic drink upon getting settled in my seat. I went with a glass of red wine to help me relax and be less ticklish while I soaked my feet in toasty warm water and enjoyed the automated massage chair. I had no idea my pedicure had included a clay mask, paraffin wax, and a lotion massage all for $50. I was in heaven! I am surprised that the reviews are this low since I had such a great experience. This place is all about turnover and the only person's nails who look good are the guys that work there with huge, elaborate full sets of acrylics in reception. Lots of talking and rushing you in and out. Lots of filing for gel or shellac that will lift within a few days. In a desperate pinch, its not bad to go here as long as you know its going to be at least $45 or more and you'll have to return within 5 days at least in order to get corrected. If you're going on a trip I would go someplace else where you know the nails they do last at least a week. read more

I came in for a Classic Pedicure and I'm not sure if it's because I picked the basic treatment over the deluxe, but my appointment was completely rushed. Total of 25 min, a two minute leg massage total, and the hot towel was just to wipe my legs not to warm them up and relax me. This was actually the worst pedicure experience I've ever had, although the nail tech was nice I just didn't feel like the experience was good quality. Not to mention a lady next to me also receiving a pedicure was already soaking in warm water and had just finished getting her nails trimmed and shaped by the time mine were done getting painted. This used to be my go to nail salon. I don't know what happened, but over the last year the quality of service has gone downhill while their prices have increased. I had five bad experiences in a row and decided it was time to move on. Final straw was my last appointment where I spent over $100 on a gel mani and pedi for my vacation. Within one day the color completely dissolved and it went from dark pink to peach (tie dye look). Seems like they are adding something to their colors or something. I don't do anything special with my nails just a pedicure, and occasionally a manicure so I can't speak on designs or anything extra. But from what I got done, this place is very nice. The pedicure is one of the best I have ever had. The massage is nice and long! This last time I went I got a manicure and it was okay. It was done in the chair while I was getting a pedicure so it didn't seem like the whole "experience". The massage for the manicure wasn't that great. Since it was done while in the pedicure chair, I had to pull my arm over to her rather than her coming to the other side. They give complimentary drinks which is a nice touch. My one downside would be that each time I have gone they don't talk to you. Didn't ask how my day was, or anything. Doesn't seem very personal or professional. Been going here for years for pedicures. It's recently become more necessary because I am getting older and can't do my toes without a lot of effort and the polish looking wonky :/ While there is a small amount of basic customer service at NK, there is also an incessant amount of staff talking amongst themselves and it feels like they are talking sh*t about the customers. I don't think I am the only one who feels this way. The managing staff, specifically the owners and greeters take all of the clients for granted. My experience here felt like going into a drive through carwash: hurry up and select your color, then get asked repeatedly to upgrade or add on, questioned why you didn't select more service, then prepare for the rushed and frantic scrubbing while all the staff are talking to each other (I said "Ouch" two times, no one heard me), then when it's over, hurry up and get out of the chair. It's such a shame because the ladies there are good at nails but the lady at the front ruins the experience. Not only is she short on the phone she's rude in person too. I'm officially done with wasting my time and money at this salon! I went in for a classic pedicure with NO polish. I had half grown out shellac on my nails that took literally 10 seconds for them to remove and they charged me $10.00 extra to remove it! Here's the twist, if I would have had shellac put back on, the removal of the old polish would have been no charge. Of course that type of pedicure was more expensive. Basic up sale, not to mention that this added cost was not posted anywhere. At the end of the day I saved them time and the cost of products since I wanted bare toenails. Absolutely no chance I will ever return here. I came in hoping to get my dip powder nail polish removed after having it on for three weeks. I wanted to give my nails a chance to breathe. They asked me if I wanted a manicure. I told them no, I just wanted the removal. I waited for about 5-10 mins to for someone to help me, then it was my turn. I was thinking they would take some acetone and soak my nails in them with tin foil like they do with gel nails. But no! They took a scraper (not the electric nail buffer/polish remover), and they manually scraped each polish off my nails. If you don't know what that feels like, imagine your entire nail getting ripped off your finger. Super uncomfortable. And the lady asked me like 8 times if I was doing okay, of course not! I'm basically suffering through this. She asked me two more times if I wanted a manicure, which at this point felt like pressuring. I said no, however, with how f-ed up my nails looked after she scraped the polish off, I feel like I didn't really have a choice but to go for it. My usual nail salon was fully booked so I decided to try this place with my hanai niece. There were water temp issues, scalding hot towels for the pedi (the kid was trying not to "overreact" but even I felt they were way too hot), and the cuticle & polish jobs were pretty poor for the prices charged. The top coat was applied so haphazardly, and the kiddo had to point out that they didn't paint half of her nail (left half of two nails, actually). This place is probably better for those who want acrylics and the like, but IMO not worth it for a regular mani-pedi. read more

After 8 years of patronizing NK nails, I'm officially breaking up. Obviously, if I've frequented the same place for so long, it couldn't have been all bad. However, the last two years-service, quality, and cleanliness have gone down hill. The way in which they talk to each other and their customers is disrespectful and does not lend to a relaxing self care experience, having nothing to do with language, but treatment. This last year has resulted in Urgent Care Visit, several bloody incidents, extreme breakage, and a minor infection. If you lift up concerns-there is always an excuse or gaslighting-especially if communicating with Hannah's. After losing several nails this week, did I mention my natural nails...broke while typing. Not only was I charged for removal-no product required the layover popped right off & the tech confirmed they were done poorly and too heavy AND Hannah still blamed me for the breakage. First of all the woman told me my nails being short meant that she couldn't do polish to the edges (I have never heard that in my life). Then when I asked her to re-do the polish she sent me home with these, easily one of the worst polish jobs I've ever had. Like wowww, after my sister payed the lady who did her nails went on and HALF assed her nails, which my sister wasn't having it, especially after the money she just payed. Called and as soon as I got there, they provided the acrylic nails removal. The place was clean and service was quick. I am rarely satisfied when I come. Their acrylic nail sets are mediocre - at best. But man, that removal was awful. She used a tool to lift the acrylic off my natural nail and when it came to my thumb, she went under the skin and cut the inside. She apologized, but I was still nervous my thumb would start bleeding. She proceeded to remove others and I looked at my thumb again and she said "I'm sorry. This is why I wanted you to relax." What? This used to be my favorite nail salon but the last few times I've gone in, they nickel and dime for everything without warning. Last time I was in I got a full set and the gal suggested a nail shape to me. I said but didn't realize getting a certain shape would be an upcharge of $5. Then there was another upcharge for using a matte top coat. Wtf? Yesterday I brought my kids in and they each wanted alternating colors. Another up charge of $5 per hand and foot! When I went to check out they charged me $40! They said it's $15 to remove dip on top of $25 for a "manicure". I went to NK for years. I've spent thousands of dollars here. Unfortunately, although the staff are overall kind and extremely hardworking, they do not keep a sanitary salon. It's more and more dirty each time. I've decided not to return. It's not just the little things - it's the gel drying apparatuses being really gross inside (we are expected to put our hands in there?), among many other unsanitary surfaces and practices in general. Last went here about 5 years ago and thought I'd give it another chance. After spending $70 on a brand new full set, all of my nails were lifting after a week. Which was frustrating cause they were my wedding nails. Then went back to get a fill (I knew I shouldn't have but they always can get you in right away so it was convenient). A few hours later, after my fill I notice the gel polish lifting on 3 of my nails!! So I went back for them to fix it, which they did and the lady said they must not have been dry and blamed my hand placement in the uv light machine.. I knew that's not the case but I was also second guessing myself and NOW MY GEL POLISH IS LIFTING AGAIN. Very sad to see how money hungry they have become. This was the worst nail experience I have ever had. I usually do not come on to yelp to write reviews but I will not be coming back after being a loyal customer nor will my family. They gave me a set where a nail popped off immediately which was odd. I came back in LESS THAN A WEEK after getting my nails done because I also noticed the French tip set showed the fill, she usually puts a nude to make it look seamless. Just left here and didn't leave a tip and I know I was judged but my nail lady wouldnt give me an extra coat on my nails, few of my nails you can still see through the paint, she kept saying how my nail color i picked was to light and bad and I explained ive had this color before and why have it stocked if its "bad" i asked again to please give me another coat and she said no.
