Incredible Indian ice-cream flavors Nirvanaah in Sunnyvale is hands down my favorite spot for authentic Indian ice cream. Every flavor I've tried has been fantastic, rich, creamy, and true to taste. So far, I've had the lychee, thandai, anjeer and walnut, malai, kesar pista, and paan, and each one was delicious in its own way. The paan, malaai, and thandai especially brought back so many memories. The staff is friendly and patient about offering samples so you can find your favorite, and service is always quick. It's the perfect place to stop by after dinner or anytime you're craving something unique and nostalgic. Ambiance is simple but there isn't enough sitting for bigger parties. Highly recommend if you're looking for Indian-style ice cream done right. I can't wait to go back and try more.

Classic taste since years! Meetha paan here is popular and a must try. Parking and seating is appropriate. I liked their service too. I'd suggest the restaurant to update the flavor name stickers. They've worn out and quite old - killing some of the good vibe.

cute interior, whimsical and feels like an old diner. service was standard, just walked up and ordered. found the mango kulfi a little too sweet.

If you want to try indian ice cream flavors this is a must try place. Order yourself a faluda and share it with another person. All seasonal flavors are always delectable. My recommendations - try kulfis, rajbhog, cardamom pistachio, figs and walnuts, alphanso mango, black currant. Kesar pistachio shake, badshahi falooda drink or chocolate nirvana sundae.

This place was packed when we got here right before they closed. They have a great selection of ice cream flavors and you can order an ice cream cake for special occasions. They let you sample only two flavors per person. My personal favorite was their rose flavored ice cream. The place was clean, too. There's not much seating so plan on enjoying your ice cream while standing and mingling with others. They also have a lot of cheesy quotes ;) so if you're looking for that, they got you covered.

Nirvanaah is conveniently located next to Cash & Carry (an Indian grocery store), so it's a great option for anyone after their shopping trip. I've tried their Ferrero Rocher, Falooda, and Rose flavors, and they were not extraordinary. For the ice cream flavors itself, I'd probably give them a 3.5/5 - they have a wide variety but their flavors are not extremely special. The service is okay, nothing outstanding but nothing abysmal either. Personally, I'm not a fan of their interior, but you're there for ice cream so it doesn't matter too much.

The ice cream was amazing. I loved the setting and customer service!!! Go there if you can!

Great place to get ice cream with Indian flavors or falooda type drinks. What we tried : 1. Badshahi falooda drink 10/10 It has rose syrup in the bottom with chia seeds and falooda sevaiya, topped with rose flavored ice cream milk shake and a scoop of cardamom-pistachio ice cream. This tasted close to falooda in India. 2. Tender coconut- scoop 3/10 The coconut pieces were sparse and the ice cream otherwise tasted like plain vanilla ice cream with no flavor.

I went in today on a tuesday ~7:45pm (4/9/24) and it wasn't busy so found that a plus because when I pass by it sometimes i'd always see a crowd of people outside the place. Cute and homey ambiance with colorful walls. Upon entering i was greeted with two people (a man and a women) who seemed very nice and patient waiting for me to take my order since i was looking at the selection and on their yelp. I eventually asked about one of the flavors to which the man asked if I'd like a sample and i got to try some flavors i was interested in. There was so much to choose from and some that i've never heard of (wanted to do more research on them and maybe come back another time) but i ended up choosing the alphonso mango as I LOVE alfonso mango for their sweet and creamy (In my experience never sour) flavor, and the falooda kulfi (bc it was one of the highlighted flavors in the reviews alongside guava (but they didnt have it so i chose mango) for a double scoop. The Alphonso mango was perfect, it was not tart at all, they also did not skimp on the mango so it wasn't just a hint of mango and mainly milk, it was wasn't too mango-ey too, it was just creamy and good. Definitely recommend for Mango lovers :) The falooda was a different experience for me as ive never had actual falooda before and didn't do much research except it was a good falooda flavor from reviews. I tasted a mix of spices (maybe saffron, but not too strong- more subtle, some bits of a type of nut that was also mixed (texture)) and definitely a lingering hint of rose, which i ended up finding out that falooda does sometimes have rose syrup). It was definitely a treat, not up my alley but I'm glad to experience how it tastes in essence and it's probably more acquired since they have so many flavors reminiscent of desserts such as gulab jamun (which i love) so i'm excited to try more of their flavors in the near future. The double scoop was 8.99 but I believe the lady told me cash was 50 cent discount) but i didnt realize until after she gave me a 1.01 back (I didnt pay attention so it could be the tax or she may have forgotten and i was enamored by my two scoops of ice cream lol)

A good variety of exotic ice cream flavors from guava to sitapahl. They even have Indian dessert flavored ice cream like gulab jamun. I always get the sitapahl which is in the same family as cherimoya. It's like having an ice cream flavored with apple but without the tartiness. Mildly sweet. The guava flavor has full guava flavor including the gritty texture. It's distinctly unapologetically guava which I appreciate. You can taste the guava right away. The mango pomegranate ice cream tasted more mango than pomegranate. This has a smoother texture just like mango and pomegranate. I noticed that the texture of some of the ice cream flavor is not very smooth but I think because it's consistent to the actual food it's modeled after. It's on a pricier side but they have unique flavors with taste true to each type it represents.

Do they offer at least 2 to 3 vegan ice cream options now? I haven't been there in several years and assume they don't. I see they have vegan options but I don't see any on the menu.?

Not sure about vegan ice cream, but I think I've seen sorbet there before

Till what time are they open beginning dec2020?

I went early November and google said they are open till 10 pm, but there was a long queue where they let people stand even after 10 pm. So they were open till around 10:30 pm to serve everyone.

    What is different in Nirvanaah?

The variety of flavors and family ownership brought me in. I had a great experience getting to try ice cream flavors that aren't typically offered by hip and (usually) white-owned business. Nirvanaah's website explains their inspiration, "[We are]…

A friend told me that the ice cream they serve at Nirvanaah is vegan? If I remember correctly I thought it was only vegetarian? Does the ice cream they serve here contain dairy? Thanks!

It's not vegan, it contains dairy!!

This time I decided to stop by here after dinner, my first time sitting down here and ordering. The inside is very clean, modern, and Pinterest-like. They added more decorations and seating from 2 years ago, making the inside more aesthetic. whaT's More always has unique Asian flavors, like durian, earl grey, pandan, red bean, and oolong. The cakes are not too sweet, so definitely Asian parent approved haha! Unfortunately, when we came around 6:30pm, they were sold out of most flavors - so would definitely recommend coming earlier or just ordering online earlier in the morning for pickup. We got the sesame dark chocolate crepe cake. When you eat in the store, the owner provides you with free cups of tea, which are really great for washing down the cake. The chocolate was super rich, and they did not skimp out on the flavor - super chocolatey. The sesame added such a fun earthy and nutty flavor - I thoroughly enjoyed it! The cake is on the slightly denser side, so was super filling. While on the pricier side, the flavors are super unique and the craft that goes into crepe cakes is commendable. I will be ordering my next cake from here again!

Not only does it get really busy after work hours, many parking spots are reserved for other businesses. It's also usually crowded inside, making snagging a seat a bit hard. It's a popular spot, and I can see why--the menu features many different bingsoo options alongside other desserts, and they're all very beautiful and cute. There's also free WiFi and bathroom access. I will note that they don't seem particularly diligent about cleaning up between customers. You pick your own seats, and when I finally found a table, there was food residue visible on the tabletop. Their prices are a little higher than some other spots in SJ (ranging from ~$13 to $19 pre-tax), and I don't think the quality of the bingsoo is noticeably better to justify the price. I tried a pricier one (the premium strawberry), and found it to be quite good, but not $20 good. Plus, some aspects seem designed more for pictures than for eating. The little cheesecake slice is a bit hard because it's cold and difficult to eat with the shaved ice. That said, their bingsoo does taste good! The fruit tasted fresh and sweet, and the portion was enough for me to share with my partner. I wish the condensed milk was provided on the side instead of already poured on top, but I didn't mind the amount they gave. I may not be back immediately in the future, but I wouldn't mind visiting again. I would probably stick to the lower-priced options myself, though. If you visit, do keep in mind that it's usually really busy--your order probably will take a minute, and whether that's worth it or not is up to you.

You can't change the sweetness level, which is unfortunate, but their recommended sweetness actually balanced the stronger matcha really well. The ice cream is probably the best thing here. Super creamy, perfectly sweet and really well blended. I would honestly come back just for the ice cream. The strawberry matcha latte was pretty unmemorable to me, and the hojicha was also extremely bitter. Service was good. The barista was kind and helpful, which I appreciated. After they started getting more hype, the lines became longer and longer. I think it's worth trying, but personally I wouldn't wait in a huge line for it. Overall, the matcha itself tastes authentic and is prepared well, but some drinks are just too bitter for my preference. My recommendations: the ice cream or Crème Brûlée Matcha. Those were easily the standouts for me.
