Fire Roll
Ivette V.

Ordered from Ninja Sushi last night. We ordered 6 rolls: Fire Roll, Go Go Roll, mountain Toll, Spicy tuna and crunch, spicy tuna and avocado, and salmon and avocado roll. All of the rolls were good for the most part. We also were surprised how big the specialty rolls were. This was a lot for two people and we definitely ordered too much. The order took some time to arrive but they were fresh. The rice was pretty sticky which made eating a bit difficult as the rolls would stick together and create a bit of a mess when you tried to lift a roll. The presentation was nice and the rolls were organized. One critique is that with the amount of sushi we ordered I would have hoped they would have provided more than 1 spicy mayo sauce. Overall, it was good sushi, but I can't say great.

I absolutely love this place. Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh. The service was great as well. This is great for a date night or just to come and have some dinner with family like I did. We order a bit of everything so we can share! Come check them out!

I have Ben wanting to try ninja sushi for a while because of their posts on instagram. The restaurant itself is tucked away almost hidden and I liked that they had private parking. The servers were very nice and accommodating to kids as we were celebrating my 5 year old's birthday. The food was great and I love the free rice soup they provided to start the meal.

Holy moly. I have so many and no words at the same time. This is the more HIDDEN GEM I've ever encountered. Every dish i had I genuinely loved and we tried a LOT! The service was .. dare I say.. the best service I've ever had??? Her name was Carmela and she ROCKED! The owner is phenomenal too. He genuinely is a true and true chef. I can't even describe how much I liked the Swiss cheese sushi roll (which I never thought I would love it so much) The ambiance was a perfect cozy sushi spot to grub and chat! 10/10 place .. do NOT sleep on this spot

i am soooo confused by the place. Judging a book by the cover, a place called ninja sushi with a dodgy location... was expecting the worst of the worst. I walk in and the servers and banging gongs and the crowd this place brings in is also very interesting.... definitely not a crowd that i would trust with sushi recommendations. It was stuffed with people dressed in costume, to families with little kids, to an influencer table that had cameras and flashing lights set up.... it was VERY VERY ODD. The older lady who i presume ran the place was very very kind and personable and when the food came out .... i've never seen rolls SO BIG. the picture do not do them any justice SO BIG. twice the side of normal rolls i couldn't properly fit a single piece in my mouth correctly bc it was just so big. Me and my boyfriends usually get 5-6 rolls to split at typical sushi places and finish it all.... we had to take three rolls home. AND to my surprise.. the sushi was good-- great even! I'm shocked and confused and their sushi saves them which is what it's all about right? Would definitely come back-- maybe takeout? maybe during a less busy time? that crowd still haunts me but that sushi is worth the pain.

Ninja Ramen is ehhh, very Americanized. Not to get here maybe something else

Parking in back of house & entrance is there. Nice decor & they bang a drum which is fun when you enter. Service is nice but the food I wonder. Actually a few diners but looked like they had sushi & katsu. Well I ordered Ninja Ramen which I thought was like a tonkotsu ramen but was very Americanized. Just a boiled egg not even soy marinated egg. Had a slice of seaweed & bamboo but I don't understand why spinach, carrots & corn?? And the 3 pieces of chashu pork were not tender, tough to bite through. I need to redeem this ramen at another authentic ramen spot.

Best sushi around. Period. Found this place by accident when my former favorite sushi spot closed early one night. Haven't looked back since Great service, great food, cozy vibes. FRESH and good variety

Ninja Sushi in Nutley, NJ. This place will blow you away with their special rolls! You have to check out the OMG roll, it comes on fire-with spicy lobster crab tempura and Swiss cheese. Whoever thought of to put melty cheese on sushi is a genius! The standard sashimi and sushi are also worth checking out-so fresh and a very nice portion! You know I love a BYOB place too. The staff is super friendly and Ninja Sushi was so delicious & fun!

Yumm. It's been a while since I've visited Ninja Sushi and I'm not sure why! Stopped in for dinner with my boyfriend yesterday. We were in the mood for a hearty bowl of ramen. I started with the green salad which was delicious, the dressing is my favorite. He got the sweet potatoes tempura which was great too. We both got the chicken ramen, I asked for not spicy and they perfectly accommodated. The chicken was super tasty, the broth was great and the noodles nice and chewy. I do wish the egg was a little runnier but still good. The staff was fabulous, really great. The decor is lovely in here too. Parking is in the back. Can't wait to come back!

Ninja Sushi is the epitome of a hidden gem! Wow, this place is truly incredible! Phil and his team serve up outstanding sushi, some of the best in NJ by far! The staff is super kind and the restaurant makes you feel right at home with its unique decor. Our favorite rolls were the OMG and Fire rolls. Incredible flavors and prepared to perfection! Be sure to add Ninja Sushi to your must try list for NJ restaurants. BYOB so don't forget to bring your favorite bottle along with you! Thank you Phil for the exceptional service and hospitality, we can't wait to come back!

Phil and his crew are awesome! Loved the OMG roll with cheese on top and other entrees we tried. The restaurant started getting full during dinner time. Love when they hit the gong. Parking is located in the back.

We tried the following: Chicken Karaage Bao $12 - Very good +!! Crispy chicken and fresh pillowy bao Pork Rice Bowl $12 - disappointing. Very dry and off putting smell and taste of pork. Duck Dynasty Dumplings $12 - Ok. Dumpling wrapper excellent , filling very dry and again off-putting taste. I like duck, but I should have went with the regular pork mix. Barely any sauce as well to dip. Signature Tonkatsu Ramen $20 - Good! Best part was the egg! I've had better ramen elsewhere. For $20 I expected more flavor and fillings. You can definitely customize and add, but at this price point I would rather have had base start at $24 and include wood ears, more veggies, bamboo, etc. Mine was basically the fat part of pork slices with 20% meat, one veggie, whole egg (which definitely was excellent), and a good broth. Thin ramen on this one, but again I've had much better broth, noodles and fillings. Burnt Honey Calamansi Tea $8- very good for about 12-14oz, but expensive. I understand Calamansi is not typical here in north Jersey and I'm certain they pay higher pricing wholesale, but it wasn't that superb to pay $8 for again. I really teetered with this review for days as I wanted to give 4 stars for local support and the chef's passion, but I simply won't pretend we loved this. Might try 10 for $10 dumpling Thursday with the pork filling one day.

HOWEVER, this Ghost kitchen can accommodate Private small parties with reservation. You will be served by the chef and be able to see him first hand prepping your order. Chef has an amazing personality, and gives you and your party enough space to engage with eachother. It's a unique, and intimate experience. Perfect for 2 people, and can accommodate more if you reserve! Also! There's a no tip policy which is UNHEARD OF! Food: We had the honor of dining in so this experience gave us the freshest and quickly served dishes! Starting with the trusty old Edamame that was delicious and finished with his signature drama oil and furikake! Chicken Karaage Bao: The crunch and juiciness of the chicken thigh on this bao bun is worth the buy, ESPECIALLY if you dine in. You won't get em anymore fresh than that and the scallions just give it a beautiful freshness. Original Miso Spicy Ramen: So I'll be honest here. I'm someone who has gone to all the big name ramen spots in the city and i have always left the broth. I prefer lighter broth. This Miso Ramen, I sipped the last drop of broth. The flavor, salt levels were great and the combination of pork and chicken broth give it a lighter feel but retains a just right amout of richness for my taste! If you're someone who loves a hearty broth. I STRONGLY recommend the Signature Tonkatsu Ramen! It's got the exact richness that Ramen lovers crave in a bowl! The noodles on both of them, slurp worthy and cooked to perfection Overall Service: It's an amazing meal for anytime of day, and with its doordash, uber eats available it's quite accessible for ordering! Protip*Best rates are available through his website* Sitting in was really nice (Don't forget you have to request a time to eat in) service was quick, conversation was great and the food was incredible! Will absolutely do that again!

The town it self was having some pavement work being done and it was difficult to find parking. I was driving away when I eventually found a spot and walked about 6 minutes to the location. As I got there I could see that the restaurant was full and lively. The hostess was friendly and communicated our wait well. It did look like that they were struggling a bit with tables staying longer than they expected which caused a few reservations to be backed up while we were the walkins. I do recommend getting reservations here. I/we ordered a ramen, the cola wings, and the detroit style pizza. They were nice enough to separate the single serving of ramen into two bowls which was really nice of them. The Ramen was good but a bit salty. The cola wings were alright I wouldn't say they were the best I ever had. As for the pizza it was good, however when comparing with similar offerings in the area, Buckys in Chatam, NJ is superior for Detroit style. While, the this particular place did not meet MY standards I would still recommend as a nice date spot!

Wabi Sabi by far is one of the best sushi restaurants in New Jersey!…read more As a restaurant owner myself, I know how much work goes on behind the scenes to create a great dining experience -- and this sushi spot is doing it right. The fish was incredibly fresh, the rolls were well balanced, and everything came out looking as good as it tasted. What stood out to me most was the consistency and attention to detail. The staff was friendly, service flowed smoothly, and the atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy the meal. It's always nice to support places that clearly care about their craft. If you are a true sushi purist, you know that the best experiences often hide behind the most…read moreunassuming storefronts. This place is the definition of a hidden gem--a masterclass in traditional sushi sitting quietly on a culinary wasteland of a street. The commitment to quality here is staggering. This isn't your standard neighborhood joint slinging spicy mayo rolls; the seafood here boasts absolute freshness, with rare fish flown in weekly directly from Japan. You will find cuts here that are nearly impossible to source at standard sushi restaurants, elevating the experience to something you'd typically only find at an exclusive omakase counter. Let's talk about the tuna. The vast majority of sushi spots try to pass off cheap, frozen yellowfin as a premium offering. Not here. They source incredibly high-quality Spanish Bluefin--the exact same caliber of fish utilized by Michelin-starred establishments. What truly sets them apart is their ability to offer the complete trinity of bluefin cuts: the deep, ruby-red lean akami, the perfectly marbled chu-toro, and the rich, melt-in-your-mouth o-toro. The menu reads like a love letter to the ocean. Finding high-grade yellowtail belly can be a challenge, but here, it is a staple of exceptional quality. For those with an adventurous and educated palate, the chefs regularly feature incredibly hard-to-find selections like itoyori (golden threadfin bream), mejina (opaleye), and a luxuriously rich fatty bonito. The uni deserves its own paragraph. Sea urchin can be a gamble at lesser restaurants, but here it is pristine. On any given night, you might be lucky enough to find both creamy California uni and the briny, delicate Hokkaido uni available for side-by-side comparison. Another testament to their traditional approach and culinary respect is how they utilize the week's fresh catch to craft a warm, incredibly tasty fish head soup. It is a deeply comforting, umami-rich broth that extracts every ounce of flavor from the premium seafood they bring in, showcasing a level of authenticity you rarely see anymore. While the menu does offer French-inspired dishes and various hot kitchen items, let me be clear: you are here for the sushi. The hot food isn't bad by any means, but if you truly want a culinary experience, do not waste precious stomach space on it. You are here for the raw fish. The singular exception to this rule is the pork gyoza--they are remarkably juicy and absolutely worth the order. Do not skip dessert. In many sushi restaurants, desserts are an afterthought, but here they are top-notch and entirely homemade. The Japanese flan is impossibly silky and decadent. However, the true star is the crème brûlée cheesecake--it is remarkably smooth, slicing effortlessly at the touch of a fork, with a deeply satisfying flavor profile that entirely avoids being overly sweet. I have to address the elephant in the neighborhood: this place absolutely destroys Morimoto down the street. Morimoto has become a tourist trap resting on a recognizable name, employing inexperienced chefs to cater to the sheep-like masses who prioritize a flashy dining room over authentic taste. If you actually understand and respect true sushi, you skip the theatrical nonsense down the street and come here. Let's also be brutally honest about the price point: excellence comes at a premium. This is an uncompromising, high-end culinary experience, and the bill reflects the quality of ingredients flown in from Japan. If you are a bargain hunter, looking for cheap eats, or aren't willing to pay for top-tier craftsmanship, save your time and look elsewhere. This establishment is for serious diners who understand the value of good sushi and aren't just looking for a good enough "AYCE" experience.
