Two visits, spaced about a year apart and it took that long to finally come to terms with the fact that... we found a place to knock Red Basil from its top-spot when it comes to drunken noodles. The restaurant is tiny and immaculate. From the chairs to the plates to the artwork - everything fits perfectly together (although the "classic rock lite" coming from the speakers might shatter any illusion you had that you'd been transported right into the heart of Bangkok). The food was incredibly vibrant with just the right amount of spice/heat with some other magical components (that's missing from the other local Thai spots we've tried in the past) that had us savoring every bite. The Thai iced tea? Phenomenal and the perfect 'balancing act' while having a dish of spicy food. At first we complained that the portion-size was small but we'd left... stuffed. HIDDEN GEM! The owner and his wife are so nice and welcoming. The place is always clean and the food looks and tastes fresh. My husband and I are huge fans of the crispy curry chicken with coconut rice. It has such great flavor. We also love the garlic chicken wings. I know, garlic typically is very potent, however, they make a nice sauce that makes it less overwhelming. I love this place! My boyfriend and I tried Nimman today and really tasted a bit of everything. What I mostly found was that there's a lot going on in each dish. I wanted to try their tom kha soup because that's one of my favorites. I really didn't enjoy this one, it wasn't the flavor I'm used to when eating this soup. It had a ton of unusual spices and little bits of herbs maybe? I just kept tasting little flakes of something on my tongue after each spoonful. The appetizer for two wasn't bad at all, lots of fried options. Including crab Rangoon which I thought was odd because on one hand they're trying to be super authentic with the spices but then crab Rangoon is on the menu. I got the drunken noodle with tofu and it was mostly vegetables which isn't a bad thing but just odd. By the time I ate most of the noodles I was left with a huge pile of chunks of onion and bell peppers. My boyfriend got the pad Thai, which wasn't served with a lime and that's my favorite part! We shared dishes and while they were good, they weren't my favorite. The place is small, I would call for reservations. The staff was very friendly. I have other favorite Thai places in the area, I might come back here for a lunch special to try other dishes. read more

I ordered duck love rice, and I was in love, too. The duck was tender! Drinks? 10/10. For dessert, we had the mango sticky rice. It's a different style. It's still soft even not drenched in coconut sauce, and we love it because it's not too sweet. We loved the mangoes because they were lovely, tasted good, and reminded us of the Philippine mangoes. Nicely decorated restaurant it is not very big but comfy. Duck and rice was good but quite salty with the sauce. For some reason they ran out of noodles. Tofu and veggies dish had good flavor but small portion and cost almost as much as a meat dish. I would not suggest it given the cost versus what you get.
