I've just moved to the neighborhood and I'm a big fan of Thai food, so I've been looking for my "go-to" place. This was my second order from Lamoons. The first one was okay, nothing bad, but nothing special either. Unfortunately, the second experience was much worse. First, the order was messed up, they added another item for 17$ that I hadn't ordered. It was supposed to be a three-item order, so I have no idea how they got it wrong. The drunken noodles were okay, about 7/10. The pad thai was very bland, the chicken had almost no flavor and looked very pale (3/10). The tom kha was supposed to have only mushrooms and galangal, but it came with a bunch of vegetables like cabbage and carrots, which made it feel more like a veggie soup, the broth itself was actually delicious 8/10.

Clifton can brag on a number of delicious Asian restaurants offering everything from traditional staples to contemporary fusion. Located on a busy Parker Avenue, I've been coming to Clifton Thai for years and stopped today for lunch. The vibe was welcoming and relaxed. It was a special treat to see both owners and their daughter after 2 years. Greeted by Tony of the husband/wife duo team, who takes the time to get to know the regular customers, I was seated immediately by the window. With the brisk temperatures, I started out with the chicken dumpling soup consommé, which consisted of a Clear Broth Soup, Cellophane Noodles, Scallions, and Napa. My main meal was Pad See-Ew with Tofu from their lunch menu with a soda. During my meal, the other owner, Jib (pronounced: yeep), dropped by with their 10-month-old daughter to catch up. The food has the perfect texture, which remains tastefully delicious and authentic using the freshest ingredients. The service was spot on and the price very reasonable. One can't go wrong here if you want to try good Thai food, which I continue to recommend.

Review is based on delivery on a very cold January night, so can't comment on the restaurant or it's service. We have an assortments of appetizers, the eggrolls, were pretty standardish, the chive pancake was less than good and shumai was hard, but the curry puffs were the bomb! The star of the meal was by far the red curry, I usually add to my comments not to americanize it (as in reduce the heat) but I didn't this time, and the level of heat and flavor was spot on! Withouth this dish my rating would have been a 4, as 4.5 is not an option. We also had the drunken noodle that was really good, though could have used some more kick, luckily we had that red curry magic sauce, to take it a notch up

Some of the best Thai in the area. The duck is delicious (I don't eat a ton, but I can normally finish the full order!). Drunken noodles and pad thai both fantastic. Service is also wonderful. The restaurant is tiny and immaculate. From the chairs to the plates to the artwork - everything fits perfectly together (although the "classic rock lite" coming from the speakers might shatter any illusion you had that you'd been transported right into the heart of Bangkok). The food was incredibly vibrant with just the right amount of spice/heat with some other magical components (that's missing from the other local Thai spots we've tried in the past) that had us savoring every bite. The Thai iced tea? Phenomenal and the perfect 'balancing act' while having a dish of spicy food. At first we complained that the portion-size was small but we'd left... stuffed. Our server (Andrew, I believe) as well as one of the cooks that came from the back? Absolutely lovely people that made our most recent visit all the more memorable. Street (metered) parking. Decent pricing. Without a doubt - worth a visit!

They have a fairly big place for them to be in the "main street" of Montclair so there's plenty of seating there. We got their basil fried rice with chicken in their pad kee mow with chicken, both medium heat. I have to say, this is the best Thai food. I've tried in New Jersey. The price is incredibly cheap for the amount of food that you get, the spice level was true to what we asked for, and it was incredibly flavorful. We paid $14 for each plate and we're not only had dinner but also had leftovers for the next day (for two of us). This is now definitely our go to Thai food place!

The pad kee mao had that smoky wok-char flavor with perfectly chewy noodles and just the right level of spice. Also loved the fresh coconut water to cool everything down between bites. Big shoutout to Stephenie, who took amazing care of us throughout the meal. She was warm, attentive, and made the whole experience feel extra welcoming. Definitely a great vegetarian-friendly spot in Montclair if you're craving flavorful Thai comfort food.

Every dish is thoughtfully executed and prepared to provide an authentic taste. The tofu was perfectly cooked. Portion size was just right.
