Spicy Crab Buns

I love the Momoya ramen! The quality of a ramen is determined by the depth of the broth, this broth has depth! Perfectly priced and served up hot enough but not lava. Friendly service, keep an eye out for when they move up to their other location!

Let me start by saying there is nothing more exciting in this world then visiting this Ramen Noodle Restaurant on cold November evening. Just opening to the door this restaurant and being hit with the smells is a treat in itself. And also the thought of the warm, spicy, and filling Ramen that you are about to consume just warms the heart and soul. I truly enjoy this restaurant. Not only for its great Ramen, but also for its wonderful customer service. The ambience of this restaurant is quite no frills. But every square inch of this restaurant's dining room is clean as can be. And I am always delighted to the staff and the owners proudly wiping down the tables even though they aren't dirty. But anyway, let's talk about their Ramen selection. They have all the popular Ramen staples, and quite a few appetizers and entrées. But their Ramen is what you should stick with. Always made with love and always incredibly tasty, this establishment's truly shines through its Ramen soups. Believe me, you will not be disappointed with any of the Ramen noodle soup selections. They're all fantastic! But with all that said, I have to mention that there is always one thing that seems to trouble me after dining at this restaurant. And that is the cost! It seems to me that a bowl of Ramen shouldn't cost so much! I'll give you an example, one order of shumai as an appetizer, one order of spicy miso Ramen, and one lychee seltzer shouldn't be $30.00 plus tip! At a cost of literally $36.00 every time I leave this restaurant I say that I won't return but Ramen is one of my guilty pleasures in life. And this Restaurant is so close to me, what choice do I have? Anyway, I just wanted to share that bit of information so that you can make an informed decision before you decide to visit this establishment. So, if you're okay with paying a premium for Ramen then you should absolutely consider Momoya Ramen. Enjoy!

Tried Momoya for the first time and it definitely delivered! The ramen broth was spot-on -- rich, deep flavor without being too salty. The egg was cooked perfectly, the pork melted in my mouth, and even the scallions had an amazing flavor that stood out toward the end of the bowl. Nina made me a passion fruit tea that was super refreshing and balanced -- not too sweet, just right. Prices were great, the service was fast, and everyone was welcoming. Solid spot I'll be coming back to!

Ordered from here and was pleasantly surprised. The ramen was delicious, I definitely recommend getting the thick noodles. The broth was good and the hot oil was actually spicy. There were a lot of toppings and the ramen all together tasted great. The bao bun was good as well but missing sauce, so it was a bit dry. The tapioca in the milk tea was also unfortunately undercooked as well. Overall enjoyed the flavor and convenience but some dishes could use some work

The location is small but incredibly welcoming! Cindy and her husband are so kind to every customer -- you can tell they genuinely care about your experience and how you feel about the food. They're such lovely people to chat with, and the service is excellent. Most importantly, the ramen is amazing -- the broth is so creamy, rich, and full of flavor. You can really taste the care that goes into each bowl. The prices are very reasonable too, especially considering how warm, hearty, and delicious everything is. Definitely recommend this cozy spot -- it's the perfect place to warm up and enjoy some truly comforting ramen!

New favorite spot in Bloomfield!! I've walked past this place for months saying, "I need to try it one day"and I finally did. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! As a picky foodie (I don't eat a lot of things lol), I was thrilled to see they offered a chicken broth ramen, since so many ramen bases include ingredients I usually avoid. The broth was light, savory, and full of flavor. The soup dumplings were juicy and packed with taste. The dipping sauce was the perfect finishing touch. That combo? Chef's kiss. I also had the popcorn chicken, and it was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, exactly how it should be. The woman at the front was super helpful. I told her my dietary restrictions, and she nailed her recommendations. The service was great, and the space was clean and chill. I grabbed takeout this time, but I'll definitely dine in next visit. 10/10 - I'm already planning my return!

Recently tried this place for the first time and really glad we did. Not a ton of ramen places in the area, especially good ones so this is a very welcomed find. We came in on a Friday night and it was empty at first but did fill up and they did quite a few take out orders while we were there. The waitress was super friendly and the kitchen staff who ran plates was also very efficient. We started with the popcorn chicken and the takoyaki. The presentation on the takoyaki was really nice, very elevated plating. The flavors of the popcorn chicken were on point. It was served with a spicy mayo dipping sauce. For the ramen we both for the Momoya Ramen. I was expecting the broth to be a little darker in color but the flavor and depth were there. The pork was tender and the toppings all complimented the broth perfectly. We will definitely be back as the weather cools down!

I wanted to try the seafood ramen, and it was a hearty blend of ramen, crab meat, shrimp, and fish. The flavors blended well and was super filling. The pickup process was quick and easy, and the ramen was well packaged. The ambiance inside was nice if you did want to eat in. Street parking wasn't too bad. This is a solid ramen option for the area.

What an amazing find for ramen! The decor is warm and comforting with a few tables. The food blew us away. We started with spicy edamame's, pork chashu buns, chicken katsu buns as our appetizer. Very good and fresh. Onto the ramen soups. We ordered the Momoyan Ramen with Kimchi, Chashu Ramen and Spicy Miso Ramen with soft eggs. WOW. so rich and flavorful, just what you expect with good ramen. The price was perfect and won't break the bank. I highly recommend if you're looking for amazing ramen without having to travel far. We can't wait to come back!

It did look like that they were struggling a bit with tables staying longer than they expected which caused a few reservations to be backed up while we were the walkins. I do recommend getting reservations here. I/we ordered a ramen, the cola wings, and the detroit style pizza. They were nice enough to separate the single serving of ramen into two bowls which was really nice of them. The Ramen was good but a bit salty. The cola wings were alright I wouldn't say they were the best I ever had. As for the pizza it was good, however when comparing with similar offerings in the area, Buckys in Chatam, NJ is superior for Detroit style. While, the this particular place did not meet MY standards I would still recommend as a nice date spot!

I don't live very close so I thought I'd order a few things on the menu to try a variety. Was glad I did. Started with the cucumber salad. Light. Refreshing and even has a little kick. I couldn't stop eating it! Ordered the braised pork belly Bao. Comes in orders of 2. Sooooooo flavorful and so worth it! Ordered the Short Rib Ramen and their Special Spicy Tonkotsu ramen. We tried the following: Chicken Karaage Bao $12 - Very good +!! Crispy chicken and fresh pillowy bao Pork Rice Bowl $12 - disappointing. Very dry and off putting smell and taste of pork. Duck Dynasty Dumplings $12 - Ok. Dumpling wrapper excellent , filling very dry and again off-putting taste. I like duck, but I should have went with the regular pork mix. Barely any sauce as well to dip. Signature Tonkatsu Ramen $20 - Good! Best part was the egg! I've had better ramen elsewhere. For $20 I expected more flavor and fillings. You can definitely customize and add, but at this price point I would rather have had base start at $24 and include wood ears, more veggies, bamboo, etc. Mine was basically the fat part of pork slices with 20% meat, one veggie, whole egg (which definitely was excellent), and a good broth. Thin ramen on this one, but again I've had much better broth, noodles and fillings. Burnt Honey Calamansi Tea $8- very good for about 12-14oz, but expensive. I understand Calamansi is not typical here in north Jersey and I'm certain they pay higher pricing wholesale, but it wasn't that superb to pay $8 for again. I really teetered with this review for days as I wanted to give 4 stars for local support and the chef's passion, but I simply won't pretend we loved this. The fish was incredibly fresh, the rolls were well balanced, and everything came out looking as good as it tasted. What stood out to me most was the consistency and attention to detail. The staff was friendly, service flowed smoothly, and the atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy the meal. It's always nice to support places that clearly care about their craft. If you are a true sushi purist, you know that the best experiences often hide behind the most…read moreunassuming storefronts. This place is the definition of a hidden gem--a masterclass in traditional sushi sitting quietly on a culinary wasteland of a street. The commitment to quality here is staggering. This isn't your standard neighborhood joint slinging spicy mayo rolls; the seafood here boasts absolute freshness, with rare fish flown in weekly directly from Japan. You will find cuts here that are nearly impossible to source at standard sushi restaurants, elevating the experience to something you'd typically only find at an exclusive omakase counter. Let's talk about the tuna. The vast majority of sushi spots try to pass off cheap, frozen yellowfin as a premium offering. Not here. They source incredibly high-quality Spanish Bluefin--the exact same caliber of fish utilized by Michelin-starred establishments. What truly sets them apart is their ability to offer the complete trinity of bluefin cuts: the deep, ruby-red lean akami, the perfectly marbled chu-toro, and the rich, melt-in-your-mouth o-toro. The menu reads like a love letter to the ocean. Finding high-grade yellowtail belly can be a challenge, but here, it is a staple of exceptional quality. For those with an adventurous and educated palate, the chefs regularly feature incredibly hard-to-find selections like itoyori (golden threadfin bream), mejina (opaleye), and a luxuriously rich fatty bonito. The uni deserves its own paragraph. Sea urchin can be a gamble at lesser restaurants, but here it is pristine. On any given night, you might be lucky enough to find both creamy California uni and the briny, delicate Hokkaido uni available for side-by-side comparison. Another testament to their traditional approach and culinary respect is how they utilize the week's fresh catch to craft a warm, incredibly tasty fish head soup. It is a deeply comforting, umami-rich broth that extracts every ounce of flavor from the premium seafood they bring in, showcasing a level of authenticity you rarely see anymore. While the menu does offer French-inspired dishes and various hot kitchen items, let me be clear: you are here for the sushi. The hot food isn't bad by any means, but if you truly want a culinary experience, do not waste precious stomach space on it. You are here for the raw fish. The singular exception to this rule is the pork gyoza--they are remarkably juicy and absolutely worth the order. Do not skip dessert. In many sushi restaurants, desserts are an afterthought, but here they are top-notch and entirely homemade. The Japanese flan is impossibly silky and decadent. However, the true star is the crème brûlée cheesecake--it is remarkably smooth, slicing effortlessly at the touch of a fork, with a deeply satisfying flavor profile that entirely avoids being overly sweet. I have to address the elephant in the neighborhood: this place absolutely destroys Morimoto down the street. Morimoto has become a tourist trap resting on a recognizable name, employing inexperienced chefs to cater to the sheep-like masses who prioritize a flashy dining room over authentic taste. If you actually understand and respect true sushi, you skip the theatrical nonsense down the street and come here. Let's also be brutally honest about the price point: excellence comes at a premium. This is an uncompromising, high-end culinary experience, and the bill reflects the quality of ingredients flown in from Japan. If you are a bargain hunter, looking for cheap eats, or aren't willing to pay for top-tier craftsmanship, save your time and look elsewhere. This establishment is for serious diners who understand the value of good sushi and aren't just looking for a good enough "AYCE" experience.
