Great customer service, cozy atmosphere, and exceptional ramen! I got the spicy miso and it was truly one of the best I've ever had. Keep up the good!

Great little spot! Always chose the other nearby one....howeverrrrr this one blows that one out of the water...Ramenwise. the flavor was tremendous! I savored each slurp...noodles perfect texture...generous portion as well!!! I wish there were a few more choices besides Ramen but will def be back for their ramen..and dying to try their Gyudon!

The area is beautifully decorated and light feeling like home. The food was OK. (Noodles are al dente.) Service was there and helpful. The price is fair.

Well this place is definitely up there with Ani! Ordered thru DD for delivery and everything came packaged well. 2 Shoyu ramen, takoyaki and karaage. Hubs got chicken broth and I went for the pork. Incredible depth of authentic meat/bone flavor! Might even be better than their nearby competitor. Noodles were nice and chewy and soft boiled egg spot on. The fried foods were yummy, but they got a little soft during the travel. I'm sure if they were crispy right out the fryer there would not be one complaint. Can't wait to try dining in when pandemic over!

Fujiya Ramen provides a truly wonderful meal that belies its humble appearances. Taking a cue from a Yelp user, I ordered the tonkotsu ramen, which comprises pork broth with pork belly chashu, bamboo shoots, scallions and seaweed, and an additional soft-boiled egg. The takeout (or take-away, in the Queen's English) order arrived via a door ajar just wide enough for the package to fit through, handed over by a masked and gloved employee. Inside the bag, there were two containers: One with the broth and ingredients, and the other with the ramen. There were no instructions provided, but all you have to do is move the noodles into the broth, which comes in the container that most resembles a soup bowl. (It's been a long time since I've had real, Japanese-style ramen, i.e., from a restaurant, but I remember how it's supposed to look!) Despite my overbearing hunger, I managed to wait for it to soak for a minute or two. The blend of flavors (gotta love that umami!) was exquisite. The broth was rich, perfectly salted and rounded-out with the pork, bamboo shoots and seaweed against the noodles. The slices of pork were delicate and seemed to melt in my mouth with each bite. I struggled to eat it all slowly, as I was hungry, and even managed to garner a nod of approval from my kid who sampled and enjoyed the broth and the seaweed. The soft-boiled egg had a tint to its exterior that might have come from soy sauce, and it was so gently full of flavor that I'll have trouble going back to "normal" eggs again, but what a problem to face! My initial reaction was that the portion looked small, but about two-thirds of the way through my meal, I could feel myself increasingly satiated with each savory bite. It was even better than I had anticipated.

Good food, great service! Would recommend the spicy miso ramen and the array of appetizers on the menu. The coconut milk coffee latte is a good pick me up!

As I got there I could see that the restaurant was full and lively. The hostess was friendly and communicated our wait well. It did look like that they were struggling a bit with tables staying longer than they expected which caused a few reservations to be backed up while we were the walkins. I do recommend getting reservations here. I/we ordered a ramen, the cola wings, and the detroit style pizza. They were nice enough to separate the single serving of ramen into two bowls which was really nice of them. The Ramen was good but a bit salty. The cola wings were alright I wouldn't say they were the best I ever had. As for the pizza it was good, however when comparing with similar offerings in the area, Buckys in Chatam, NJ is superior for Detroit style. While, the this particular place did not meet MY standards I would still recommend as a nice date spot!

Barely any sauce as well to dip. Signature Tonkatsu Ramen $20 - Good! Best part was the egg! I've had better ramen elsewhere. For $20 I expected more flavor and fillings. You can definitely customize and add, but at this price point I would rather have had base start at $24 and include wood ears, more veggies, bamboo, etc. Mine was basically the fat part of pork slices with 20% meat, one veggie, whole egg (which definitely was excellent), and a good broth. Thin ramen on this one, but again I've had much better broth, noodles and fillings. Burnt Honey Calamansi Tea $8- very good for about 12-14oz, but expensive. I understand Calamansi is not typical here in north Jersey and I'm certain they pay higher pricing wholesale, but it wasn't that superb to pay $8 for again. If you are a true sushi purist, you know that the best experiences often hide behind the most…read moreunassuming storefronts. This place is the definition of a hidden gem--a masterclass in traditional sushi sitting quietly on a culinary wasteland of a street. The commitment to quality here is staggering. This isn't your standard neighborhood joint slinging spicy mayo rolls; the seafood here boasts absolute freshness, with rare fish flown in weekly directly from Japan. You will find cuts here that are nearly impossible to source at standard sushi restaurants, elevating the experience to something you'd typically only find at an exclusive omakase counter. Let's talk about the tuna. The vast majority of sushi spots try to pass off cheap, frozen yellowfin as a premium offering. Not here. They source incredibly high-quality Spanish Bluefin--the exact same caliber of fish utilized by Michelin-starred establishments. What truly sets them apart is their ability to offer the complete trinity of bluefin cuts: the deep, ruby-red lean akami, the perfectly marbled chu-toro, and the rich, melt-in-your-mouth o-toro. The menu reads like a love letter to the ocean. Finding high-grade yellowtail belly can be a challenge, but here, it is a staple of exceptional quality. For those with an adventurous and educated palate, the chefs regularly feature incredibly hard-to-find selections like itoyori (golden threadfin bream), mejina (opaleye), and a luxuriously rich fatty bonito. The uni deserves its own paragraph. Sea urchin can be a gamble at lesser restaurants, but here it is pristine. On any given night, you might be lucky enough to find both creamy California uni and the briny, delicate Hokkaido uni available for side-by-side comparison. Another testament to their traditional approach and culinary respect is how they utilize the week's fresh catch to craft a warm, incredibly tasty fish head soup. It is a deeply comforting, umami-rich broth that extracts every ounce of flavor from the premium seafood they bring in, showcasing a level of authenticity you rarely see anymore. While the menu does offer French-inspired dishes and various hot kitchen items, let me be clear: you are here for the sushi. The hot food isn't bad by any means, but if you truly want a culinary experience, do not waste precious stomach space on it. You are here for the raw fish. The singular exception to this rule is the pork gyoza--they are remarkably juicy and absolutely worth the order. Do not skip dessert. In many sushi restaurants, desserts are an afterthought, but here they are top-notch and entirely homemade. The Japanese flan is impossibly silky and decadent. However, the true star is the crème brûlée cheesecake--it is remarkably smooth, slicing effortlessly at the touch of a fork, with a deeply satisfying flavor profile that entirely avoids being overly sweet. I have to address the elephant in the neighborhood: this place absolutely destroys Morimoto down the street. Morimoto has become a tourist trap resting on a recognizable name, employing inexperienced chefs to cater to the sheep-like masses who prioritize a flashy dining room over authentic taste. If you actually understand and respect true sushi, you skip the theatrical nonsense down the street and come here. Let's also be brutally honest about the price point: excellence comes at a premium. This is an uncompromising, high-end culinary experience, and the bill reflects the quality of ingredients flown in from Japan. If you are a bargain hunter, looking for cheap eats, or aren't willing to pay for top-tier craftsmanship, save your time and look elsewhere. This establishment is for serious diners who understand the value of good sushi and aren't just looking for a good enough "AYCE" experience.

(But each statement is said, and meant, with sincerity.) It's large (high ceilings adding to the 'wow factor'). It has a great look and vibe. The entire staff are profusely positive. As for the ramen... the broth was chock-a-block with flavor and veggies and noodles and a whole array of goodies (black oil, crispy garlic nubs, creamy tofu, you name it). The Mrs. (who is the real connoisseur when it comes to ramen, I'm just a wannabe) thought the portion was a bit on the 'wimpy' side (for the price) but I was content. The selection is inclusive, with ramen options for vegans and those who don't eat pork. And the pièce de résistance: the takoyaki. I consider myself somewhat of a takoyaki connoisseur. If it's on the menu, I order. Their takoyaki is BOMB. It's perfectly creamy inside and rests atop this delicious velvety ricotta-like sauce, excellent sauce assortment (the usuals), and I like the shredded bonito, ALL GOOD. Not a ton of octopus in there (about 1-2 pieces in each) but I wasn't mad. I was actually very very happy. Now the sad is that their main event, the ramen, was pretty underwhelming. I ordered the chicken ramen. The issue that really docks points is that the broth was just not right. It was over-reduced, or something otherwise went wrong because the texture was less creamy and more...thickened? Viscous? Unpleasant. It left this slightly gritty strange coating on the tongue. Also, it tasted like straight up bones and water. Severely under-seasoned. And the measly slices of chicken (give us 4 if they're going to be that small) did not have a touch of much-needed salt. The noodles were seasoned very well though, so I did enjoy those bites especially when I doused that baby in their delicious spicy sauce. The seasoned egg was nice and I'm glad it came with one whole egg and not a half. Also glad the bowl came with spinach because lord knows we need more fiber. As I ate the noodles, I enjoyed the bowl, but I couldn't slurp the soup. That's arguably at least half the experience, right? I want to give 4 stars because genuinely, that takoyaki is GOLD. That alone is like eight stars, off the charts. However, this is a ramen spot. The ramen is, alas, important.
