Delicious food - Take out and Delivery only - go check out my review
Mylene T.

I love when I see restaurants with a fusion of Filipino food because it's just soooo good. So Tenmomi was a surprise since I never even heard that it opened up in Nutley until my husband found them on Yelp-- Yelp is the best I swear! Tips: - No dine in available, just take out or delivery via Grubhub - Food tasted fresh and the flavor was on point - Street parking only - Want to try a unique dessert from the Philippines get the Sapin Sapin...one of the best ones I have ever tasted. If you like mochi, you'll love this. It has a layer of Ube on top and literally melts in your mouth - Lumpai Shanghai aka Filipino eggrolls - I'll admit it now it was better than mine and one of the best I've tried.. mine came crispy I hate it when it's soggy plus they used chicken when usually it's made with pork - The ramen soups have the broth on the side so your noodles don't get soggy - They label everything which is great - We got extra noodles just in case we had extra broth left So the reason I gave it 5 stars is because I wasn't a fan of the Sesame Pancit Bowl. Maybe because I expected the taste of the Filipino pancit. It tasted like there was a mix of peanut butter in it even though it said sesame paste but it wasn't bad, it just wasn't my favorite. And for the Porkys I prefer it to be on the bao buns aka white pillows vs the bread it came on but that pork was banging. I really loved the flavor of the Signature Tonkotsu Ramen... broth wasn't salty, pork confit, egg and veggies were delicious. We all enjoyed the Dan Bulgogi Noodles especially my daughter.. there was no broth in this dish and it was really good. As for apps, I really liked the following: Chickys - Chicken Katsu mini sandwiches with marinated cucumbers is delicious Chicken Dumplings were pretty filling and tasty. Again get the Sapin Sapin which is dessert... sooo good. Hope it's not sold out. I'll definitely be coming back!

Spicy miso ramen

Delicious ramen! I got the spicy miso ramen and the depth of the broth flavor is honestly ridiculous. Rich, creamy, flavorful. The pork flavor really shines through, too. Just a little bit of kick of the spice to round out the flavor. Noodle portion was great with perfect texture and bok choy was also perfectly cooked and tasted great with the broth. The pieces of pork belly were also a nice mix of fatty and lean. The food was ready for me to pick up in the timeframe set and it was easy to just grab it and go! Would love to try other takes on ramen here, so many good options!

Spicy Miso Ramen (the presentation looked better before I mixed everything up lol)

4.5/5 stars. Let me be clear, THIS IS A TAKE OUT ONLY RESTURANT (dont go here expecting a dining room of tables, its just one table for you to pick up for bag of food and leave lol). Ive gotten the spicy miso ramen which i believe is part of the permanent menu (the chef adds different items to the menu every few months or so, but ive always seen the spicy miso). The broth is phenomenal. Fatty, not overly spicy but not too mild, amazing. The noodles are so different from any other ramen places Ive gone to, more like smaller circular thinner noodles. AND I LOVE THEM. Perfectly al dente like I like it. Great broth to noodle ratio. The only "down side" is that I wish they gave more pork belly or confeit. Yes I understand its a 'expensive' piece of meat and 80% fat, but giving only two little THIN slices of it seems unfair. Nonetheless, Im a big fan. Keep up the good work chef.

DO NOT EAT FROM HERE!!! I was served eight RAW PORK dumplings. Raw, completely uncooked. I ate the first one before realizing. So I opened the rest of the dumplings and all were the same. The dumpling skin was still doughy and sticky so even the skin didn't get cooked. Chef said it's "par-cooked" and he fired it up for 4 mins. Why is pork served par-cooked and only cooked for 4 mins? That cook time is way too short for pork. If they don't even know how to cook meat to a safe temperature, THEY SHOULD NOT BE IN THE FOOD BUSINESS AT ALL!! I don't know if I'll get food poisoning, or worse, get a parasite. Absolutely unacceptable and disgusting. AVOID AT ALL COST!! THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH THE RISK!!! DO NOT EAT HERE! STAY AWAY!!!!! PLEASE SHARE MY EXPERIENCE AND WARN OTHERS ABOUT THIS INCOMPETENT RESTAURANT!!!! There are other foods they served that is undercooked before this experience, like their ramen eggs, which are not soft boiled. The yolk is completely in liquid form. The wood ear mushroom is hard. The ramen itself is usually hard and rough. If I could give negative stars, I would.

Very happy to find a new ramen spot in Nutley! This chef is a one man show who offers pick up and delivery only. The menu is select for the day and offers very quick service. The food was fantastic, everything g we tried was excellent. Will definitely be ordering from Tenmomi again!

Tofu Kanin bowl with ajitama (ramen egg)

A gem hidden inside a Rutherford staple! I'm definitely not gate keeping this amazing Asian fusion spot! Everything from the ramen, broth, ajitama (ramen eggs), and the tofu Kanin (rice) bowl is mouth watering! The spicy miso broth is so flavorful, I would eat here everyday if I could. They're only open for take out on Mondays so order ahead and ENJOY! Get to know the chef too he's just the best...Thanks for a great meal and conversation Chef KC!

Owner threw in some of his 'favorite' drinks. Lychee Drink was DEFINITELY the star of the 3

My family and I ordered from tenmomi and had an amazing dinner together! Even without being able dine in, tenmomi provided a delicious experience! I got the spicy miso ramen, and MAN did it pack flavor without being overly salty! Really appreciate that the noodles were given separately from the soup so that the noodles wouldn't get over cooked. It was just so delicious. My father got tenmomis take on Pancit and it was raved about till the next day! Definitely would order again when I'm looking to get some take out with the family!

I can't say enough good things about Chef KC and the quality of his food and service. My girlfriend and I were fortunate enough to try one of his ramen bowls that some coworkers brought in for us. There was something so unique about his Ramen that my girlfriend told me she wanted to have this for her birthday. I went up to meet Chef KC and check out Tenmomi to let him know how amazing we thought his food was and to pick up a couple of bowls for that evening. after talking with him for a few minutes he mentioned that he could come to our apartment and do dinner for six of us. We did that and we can't tell you how incredible and unique the experience was. I look forward to seeing where this business and KC go in the near future. Also, ask about his drama oil he puts on his Ramen, he sells it and it's incredible!

Addictive broth - bouncy, chewy noodles - and a perfect soft-boiled egg. What more could you ask for in a bowl of ramen? Well, how about delicate greens and tender pork on top? Cause it has that too. Truly one of the best bowls of ramen I've ever had - can't wait to go back and try it again!

It did look like that they were struggling a bit with tables staying longer than they expected which caused a few reservations to be backed up while we were the walkins. I do recommend getting reservations here. I/we ordered a ramen, the cola wings, and the detroit style pizza. They were nice enough to separate the single serving of ramen into two bowls which was really nice of them. The Ramen was good but a bit salty. The cola wings were alright I wouldn't say they were the best I ever had. As for the pizza it was good, however when comparing with similar offerings in the area, Buckys in Chatam, NJ is superior for Detroit style. While, the this particular place did not meet MY standards I would still recommend as a nice date spot!

If you are a true sushi purist, you know that the best experiences often hide behind the most…read moreunassuming storefronts. This place is the definition of a hidden gem--a masterclass in traditional sushi sitting quietly on a culinary wasteland of a street. The commitment to quality here is staggering. This isn't your standard neighborhood joint slinging spicy mayo rolls; the seafood here boasts absolute freshness, with rare fish flown in weekly directly from Japan. You will find cuts here that are nearly impossible to source at standard sushi restaurants, elevating the experience to something you'd typically only find at an exclusive omakase counter. Let's talk about the tuna. The vast majority of sushi spots try to pass off cheap, frozen yellowfin as a premium offering. Not here. They source incredibly high-quality Spanish Bluefin--the exact same caliber of fish utilized by Michelin-starred establishments. What truly sets them apart is their ability to offer the complete trinity of bluefin cuts: the deep, ruby-red lean akami, the perfectly marbled chu-toro, and the rich, melt-in-your-mouth o-toro. The menu reads like a love letter to the ocean. Finding high-grade yellowtail belly can be a challenge, but here, it is a staple of exceptional quality. For those with an adventurous and educated palate, the chefs regularly feature incredibly hard-to-find selections like itoyori (golden threadfin bream), mejina (opaleye), and a luxuriously rich fatty bonito. The uni deserves its own paragraph. Sea urchin can be a gamble at lesser restaurants, but here it is pristine. On any given night, you might be lucky enough to find both creamy California uni and the briny, delicate Hokkaido uni available for side-by-side comparison. Another testament to their traditional approach and culinary respect is how they utilize the week's fresh catch to craft a warm, incredibly tasty fish head soup. It is a deeply comforting, umami-rich broth that extracts every ounce of flavor from the premium seafood they bring in, showcasing a level of authenticity you rarely see anymore. While the menu does offer French-inspired dishes and various hot kitchen items, let me be clear: you are here for the sushi. The hot food isn't bad by any means, but if you truly want a culinary experience, do not waste precious stomach space on it. You are here for the raw fish. The singular exception to this rule is the pork gyoza--they are remarkably juicy and absolutely worth the order. Do not skip dessert. In many sushi restaurants, desserts are an afterthought, but here they are top-notch and entirely homemade. The Japanese flan is impossibly silky and decadent. However, the true star is the crème brûlée cheesecake--it is remarkably smooth, slicing effortlessly at the touch of a fork, with a deeply satisfying flavor profile that entirely avoids being overly sweet. I have to address the elephant in the neighborhood: this place absolutely destroys Morimoto down the street. Morimoto has become a tourist trap resting on a recognizable name, employing inexperienced chefs to cater to the sheep-like masses who prioritize a flashy dining room over authentic taste. If you actually understand and respect true sushi, you skip the theatrical nonsense down the street and come here. Let's also be brutally honest about the price point: excellence comes at a premium. This is an uncompromising, high-end culinary experience, and the bill reflects the quality of ingredients flown in from Japan. If you are a bargain hunter, looking for cheap eats, or aren't willing to pay for top-tier craftsmanship, save your time and look elsewhere. This establishment is for serious diners who understand the value of good sushi and aren't just looking for a good enough "AYCE" experience.

I came across Sea Shai, saw their long list of specialty rolls, and decided to stop by for a late lunch. We started with the 8pc Wings with Korean Yangnyum Sauce. It was sweet, savory, and perfectly crispy. The chicken was juicy, tender, and tasted fresh (not frozen) while the coating was crispy and super flavorful. Very satisfying start! Then we got the P1. Love which is your choice of 5 specialty rolls. The presentation was great and we began digging in. Every bite was unbelievably satisfying, the fish melted in my mouth, and I loved the different sauce flavors & textures in every roll. My favorites were Godzilla, French Kiss, and Fantastic Rolls. There is a lot of overlap in ingredients in the specialty rolls; after a while they all started to taste the same. Nonetheless, mission accomplished - I was satisfied! I would absolutely come back here. Wings & sushi are an undeniable combination!
