Kani salad. Still good. $9 sharable or not.

Came back recently after a a few years, and i still love this place. my friend pointed out how simple the menu is, and i love it. the basic rolls sometimes are what is key especially since americanized rolls are sometimes towered up with so much, the flavors tend to blend in together. they do carry and have a small list of special rolls, but i like that its small. the service was slow, but thats expected since its one person making up the rolls. there were quite a few orders bring picked up tho, so im sure that added to it. otherwise, everything flowed nicely. i love being able to sit at the sushi bar, i hope they never change that. the kani/crab salad is still a must get. i like that its not too much mayo and has a nice spice level. the rice is cooked just right with the rolls. i enjoyed my yellowtail roll - fresh and had a nice crunch. i highly suggest the bonzai roll, it has unique ingredients, but it doesnt overpower the fish.

New to Clifton and we were craving Sushi. We passed by this place a few times and today was the night to try it out. We have happy bellies to say the least :) This place only serve sushi and a few bowls. No teriyaki dishes or ramen ..just sushi. You know it's good when they only make/specialize in Sushi. BYOB too! Enjoy and support local businesses

What a hidden gem! Magically discovered this place while we were in the area and starving. I wasn't sure if they were still open since their last Yelp review was 7 months ago. YO, it's SO good. We've ordered pick-up from Ino Sushi 4 times in the past month. The fish is super super fresh, their rice is amazing - super fresh, room temperature, honestly it's perfection. Their rolls are quality and the special rolls are cut into soooooo many pieces... Plenty of food! The rolls are a little heavy on the rice but honestly the rice is so good, you truly won't mind. We're working our way down the menu, ordering different rolls every time. We've also gone for sushi pieces and sashimi, both top notch. One time we arrived for pick-up and it wasn't ready yet so they gave us some hot teas, so sweet. The owners are lovely and friendly and kind. Following all COVID precautions. Please support this cutie little sushi place - you won't regret it!

Ino Sushi is a delightful little sushi restaurant that refreshingly just does sushi. If you're looking for teriyaki or tempura, you'll need to head elsewhere. Unlike Japan where you go to a sushi restaurant for sushi and if you want tempura you go to a tempura restaurant, most sushi restaurants in the U.S. serve a wide variety of Japanese foods that include sushi. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I enjoy restaurants that specialize, and that was one of the things that appealed to me about Ino Sushi. I didn't have a large meal. In fact, it was quite small; just a Yellowtail Roll with Scallion, but that single roll was excellent. The fish tasted bright and fresh. The nori was crisp and clearly high quality, and the presentation was beautiful. I also enjoyed the complimentary cold green tea they served. It was made with roasted barley and had a wonderfully nutty quality. The restaurant is a family run business and both the sushi chef and the lady working there (his wife I'm assuming) where gracious and friendly. I look forward to returning to Ino Sushi for a larger meal.

Definitely a place I will return to. It's a small restaurant with bar seating and very zen ambiance. The service was great, appetizers were ok (not to our liking) but the rolls were delicious.

Spicy Tuna Roll & Shrimp Tempura Roll

Ordered the Shrimp Tempura Roll ($10) and the Spicy Tuna Roll ($6) for a total of $17. It's was pretty good. The lady over the phone who took my order was very nice too. I would comeback only if I was really craving sushi and needed something close to me. Only bc it was a little too pricy to me as I've had cheaper and just as good sushi elsewhere. But overall good! And they should update their website to let customers know that due to COVID they open at 4pm instead of their listed hours, if you don't call you would never know!

So happy, I stopped in Ino Sushi again! This place continues to be awesome! The owners James and Christine are always so welcoming and gracious. The food continues to be excellent! As everyone knows, most places start out great and then they take a nosedive. Ino Sushi continues to soar upward! The Miso soup was my starter. The Pink Lady Roll followed. It was very light tasting for a Summer's Eve. This special roll ($12.00) has spicy tuna, cucumber, soy wrap, with their special sauce on top. Lastly, their new Black Sesame Mochi Ice Cream Dessert was light and delicious! If you want quality service and fresh sushi, "Ino Sushi"is the only place to go!

Our $10 lunch special included a choice out of 3 items, I chose this salad with a delicious dressing!

This is our favorite sushi place to go to. The atmosphere is really cozy and a very personal touch as it is prepared in front of you behind the glass counter. The sushi here is among the best tasting we have had anywhere else! Being a smaller space you don't get lost in the crown of many larger sushi places. Well the location is nice because it's right have a place here and go to the movies or vice versa and watch a movie and then come here for dinner after! Also you get a really good quality sushi without having to spend allot more money like other sushi restaurants that don't have the personal attentive to the food as other restaurants. They also include tea with the sushi unlike others that will push a sale of soda which, quite frankly, take away from the taste experiences of the sushi.

Unfortunately, would not recommend after this visit, and would recommend sushi village instead if you're looking for something local. They have a system where you press a button to call them if you need them. When we first ordered our ayce round, the waiter with the glasses seemed rude and it felt like we were intruding being at this restaurant. After we placed a 2nd round, about 20 minutes passed when I asked for an update. I heard the waiters speaking in tagalog saying why are we in a rush to each other. The last thing that bothered me is that the same waiter dropped another menu at our table while we were still waiting and after I said "we're actually still waiting for our food," he responded with "oh this is for the next customer." I don't feel that was appropriate considering we were still waiting for our food and not finished?? Correct me if I'm wrong?? I've worked in the restaurant industry and would never do that - I think it's common courtesy. Another thing to note - we asked for tap water and received bottled water. We asked for tap water again, but it never came so we ended up drinking the bottled water which comes at an additional charge. Last thing - the sushi and food were below average to average at best. Truly not worth it. The only good thing about this restaurant was that they gave hazelnut chocolate at the end of our meal and that the other waiters were much friendlier and approachable.

As far as the food goes, my husband and I both agree that it's good and worthy of a re-visit in the future however, it wasn't blow your socks off! I got the chicken ramen and I literally got two pieces of chicken in my ramen....i was definitely expecting more than that. My husband got the chicken chashu and he said it was a solid option. I want to be so clear that this five star review is based off of our fantastic server, Yosef. He was so friendly, so personable and an overall pleasant worker! He made conversation with us and made sure we had everything we needed to have the best experience. Nowadays, people are so unfriendly and just there to collect a check. JINYA, you are very lucky to have a worker of this nature! Thank you for making our dinner a great experience. (But each statement is said, and meant, with sincerity.) It's large (high ceilings adding to the 'wow factor'). It has a great look and vibe. The entire staff are profusely positive. As for the ramen... the broth was chock-a-block with flavor and veggies and noodles and a whole array of goodies (black oil, crispy garlic nubs, creamy tofu, you name it). The Mrs. (who is the real connoisseur when it comes to ramen, I'm just a wannabe) thought the portion was a bit on the 'wimpy' side (for the price) but I was content. (We arrived at the tail-end of happy hour, so maybe I was a bit more forgiving since the bill wasn't as bad as it could've-would've been.)

This place is the definition of a hidden gem--a masterclass in traditional sushi sitting quietly on a culinary wasteland of a street. The commitment to quality here is staggering. This isn't your standard neighborhood joint slinging spicy mayo rolls; the seafood here boasts absolute freshness, with rare fish flown in weekly directly from Japan. You will find cuts here that are nearly impossible to source at standard sushi restaurants, elevating the experience to something you'd typically only find at an exclusive omakase counter. Let's talk about the tuna. The vast majority of sushi spots try to pass off cheap, frozen yellowfin as a premium offering. Not here. They source incredibly high-quality Spanish Bluefin--the exact same caliber of fish utilized by Michelin-starred establishments. What truly sets them apart is their ability to offer the complete trinity of bluefin cuts: the deep, ruby-red lean akami, the perfectly marbled chu-toro, and the rich, melt-in-your-mouth o-toro. The menu reads like a love letter to the ocean. Finding high-grade yellowtail belly can be a challenge, but here, it is a staple of exceptional quality. For those with an adventurous and educated palate, the chefs regularly feature incredibly hard-to-find selections like itoyori (golden threadfin bream), mejina (opaleye), and a luxuriously rich fatty bonito. The uni deserves its own paragraph. Sea urchin can be a gamble at lesser restaurants, but here it is pristine. On any given night, you might be lucky enough to find both creamy California uni and the briny, delicate Hokkaido uni available for side-by-side comparison. Another testament to their traditional approach and culinary respect is how they utilize the week's fresh catch to craft a warm, incredibly tasty fish head soup. It is a deeply comforting, umami-rich broth that extracts every ounce of flavor from the premium seafood they bring in, showcasing a level of authenticity you rarely see anymore. While the menu does offer French-inspired dishes and various hot kitchen items, let me be clear: you are here for the sushi. The hot food isn't bad by any means, but if you truly want a culinary experience, do not waste precious stomach space on it. You are here for the raw fish. The singular exception to this rule is the pork gyoza--they are remarkably juicy and absolutely worth the order. Do not skip dessert. In many sushi restaurants, desserts are an afterthought, but here they are top-notch and entirely homemade. The Japanese flan is impossibly silky and decadent. However, the true star is the crème brûlée cheesecake--it is remarkably smooth, slicing effortlessly at the touch of a fork, with a deeply satisfying flavor profile that entirely avoids being overly sweet. I have to address the elephant in the neighborhood: this place absolutely destroys Morimoto down the street. Morimoto has become a tourist trap resting on a recognizable name, employing inexperienced chefs to cater to the sheep-like masses who prioritize a flashy dining room over authentic taste. If you actually understand and respect true sushi, you skip the theatrical nonsense down the street and come here. Let's also be brutally honest about the price point: excellence comes at a premium. This is an uncompromising, high-end culinary experience, and the bill reflects the quality of ingredients flown in from Japan. If you are a bargain hunter, looking for cheap eats, or aren't willing to pay for top-tier craftsmanship, save your time and look elsewhere. This establishment is for serious diners who understand the value of good sushi and aren't just looking for a good enough "AYCE" experience.
