Had the wings first and was pleasantly surprised because it was so good!! All the pizzas are awesome as well!! Salad on the side counteract the grease but the pizza isn't overly greasy at all!! Will be coming back again and thank you to Franda for the gummy pizzas for daughters!!

I am in Gardnerville from time to time for work and I have been just down the street from this local pizza spot and was finally able to try a calzone and some sweet treats before heading back. I love their vibe here and you either love small towns or hate them. I fell in love with Gardnerville and Minden years ago. I stopped in for dinner on a Friday night and so glad I did. The staff here went above and beyond to get me in and out before my lunch break was over. I would say roughly about 20 minutes from ordering to having my first bite. I will be back next time I'm here or nearby. Everything was fresh and everyone was so friendly and inviting. I struck up a conversation with a few locals while waiting. I cannot wait to come back!

I am in Gardnerville from time to time for work and I have been just down the street from this local pizza spot and was finally able to try a calzone and some sweet treats before heading back. I love their vibe here and you either love small towns or hate them. I fell in love with Gardnerville and Minden years ago. I stopped in for dinner on a Friday night and so glad I did. The new owners seem very nice. Service was clear. They were happy to accommodate for my gluten allergy. Their gluten free pizza is great, far better than most in the Carson Valley area. We will absolutely go back! read more

Wow! Finally a pizza with toppings! This was old school pizza, loved it. You can have them bake it or you can bake yourself. The crust was perfect, I like the thinner crust. Owners were very personal and engaged. Impressive! read more

Great customer service the guys were super busy and short staffed on this Halloween evening but we're taking orders and working with a smile! Took a bit longer than usual but luckily we called and ordered while we were still 30 min out of town. Our pizza was loaded and ready when we arrived and we took it home and baked it. Was pretty yummy and a much better choice that those other guys take and bake with bad attitudes and employees that obviously don't wanna be there. read more

Service is always amazing. Right when you step in the employee's make you feel welcomed. The owners are friendly and kind. Let's talk about the Pizza WOW one of the best pizza's I've had. The smell , the flavor is amazing. For our potlucks/family get togethers everyones request is for us to bring Nik-N-Willie's. Am a huge pizza lover and have tried many different pizza from different places (city's) and I can say this place is awesome. If you come to Carson/Minden/Gardnerville/ even Reno Nevada is a must try place. Worth the drive. Suggestion call ahead in case they are busy you can place your order. read more

This pizza is amazing our new to go place for pizza. The dough is perfect the ingredients are great portions. The sauce isn't to sweet. The pizza is cut through properly. The plus side is no heartburn. Great job Johnny and the owner Frieda is so kind to her employee and very friendly too. Keep up the amazing work I would suggest this place all the way. You can even support her son's school for fundraising and buy dried freeze candy. Support the local stores go check it out you won't be disappointed at all. read more

Just Delicious! The white garlic sauce is the bomb the crust is delicious too. I would also like to point out that they definitely give you plenty of toppings compared to surrounding pizza places. I have been so disappointed when I order a pepperoni pizza and it's basically a cheese pizza with barely any meat....not at Nick n Willies though. read more

So my friend tells me about this place out in BFE and how good the food is. Its take out only so it should be interesting. Very good 5 stars except for the crust which was tough. After along day of snow sledding my family (visiting Tahoe/Reno) couldn't get a table at Buffalo Wild Wings so we went to BJ's and still another hour. 10 of us exhausted and starving waiting 2 hours to get our kids and ourselves fed, we came upon a pizza joint called nik-n-willies on Yelp not to far away. So we gathered the crew and headed out. Though the place small, it has so much character and charm. The customer service was sweet and attentive, along with a family vibe as the regulars walked in. (Server knew him & his order by heart) . The food- garlic bread was hot and cooked to perfection. The Buffalo wings were just spicey enough for everyone to handle. The combination had honestly the freshest arrangement of produce I have EVER seen on a pizza! Last but certainly not least the DESSERT PIZZA! Cinnamon strusel dough frosted with a butter, cinnamon, Carmel coating. It made our night and it was just what we were looking for. A family dinner in a family shop. read more

The only downside is that if you're sitting outside, it can be hard to hear when your order is ready. We've tried several of the sandwiches and burgers, and everything has been consistently good. They also offer a nice variety of wing flavors, and the wings are always one of our go-to orders. When we got there the restaurant was almost empty. The only staff were two unfriendly women, one blond and one older brunette. The blond who took my order never greeted me, never looked at me and said as few words as possible. I suspect she hates customers and her job. After we got plates we saw the buffet had only two half pizzas, one pineapple and the other had different meats and olives. I asked if they could make a cheese or pepperoni pizza because that's all my kids will eat.They begrudgingly agreed to make one. After waiting a while two men came in, paid for the buffet and just as they handed them their plates they put out the pepperone pizza which was right behind them. We got in line behind the men. Sadly, what was left was one slice of pepperoni pizza each for the kids. And they liked the pizza. I went to the counter and asked if they could make another cheese or pepperoni pizza. The workers, who talked to me from across the room, said no. They said the old halves of pizzas, pineapple or the one with olives had to be eaten first. I explained the kids won't eat that and those pizzas were now very old. They explained they wouldn't be making cheese or pepperoni and that there were other kinds of pizzas they would be making first. There is an order to the variety of pizzas they make for the buffet. By now we are the only people in the restaurant and I am trying to reason with these employees who are being so cold and indifferent. It was rainy, and so everybody was indoors, and it was kind of crowded, but that's a testament to the quality of the food. Our bartender, Maddy, was energetic and friendly, and it didn't hurt that she grew up six doors down on our street. My wife, ever the hugger, was thrilled to see her, and you could tell they had a mutual fondness for each other. So if you're into day drinking, and it's a Sunday, this is a great stop. Quality, alcohol, friendly faces, what look like good food, and a clean and pleasant environment made this the place to stop. Rest assured, we will be back

As we decided just a few days before, our reservation choices were 4:30 at a Table or 6 PM at the bar. We reserved the 4:30 spot and were seated at a nice table as one of the first parties inside the door. In the hour and a half (ish) that were here, the place filled up nicely, even witnessing a family of 3 being turned away for lack of a reservation. We both enjoyed the happy energy, the engaging staff and patrons, and our view into the kitchen. Our experience was fabulous, with the only "opportunity for improvement" being that Gayle's rack of lamb was just slightly overcooked (for her taste). We also left thinking that it would be great to come back in the summer when the patio was open. I would describe the indoor space of Stonefly being cozy, warm, and welcoming, with service that matched. I chose the 5 ounce filet (with Gorgonzola), mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. We both enjoyed our choices, plus the prosciutto wrapped asparagus spears as an appetizer, a couple nice glasses of wine, and of course the carrot cake with a candle and song at the end. In fact, we took the cake home for later as we were really full after a meal like that. I'm sure we'll be back and with friends and/or family. Stonefly's limited hours and restaurant space will require a little extra well worth it planning. And short of maybe the Caples Lake Resort, there's really nothing in the immediate area that compares.

The lemon beignets were like, deep fried croissant dough. They were soft, yeasty, and flaky on the outside with a chewy interior and topped with a lemon glaze and powdered sugar. I wished it had a more lemony punch to it. The lemon in the glaze doesn't really come through enough. It was a pretty pricey lunch at $30 for just 1 person. The 2 items and a small fountain drink. However, I am curious to come back a 2nd time or more to try their other items. They also serve brunch on the weekends with a full bar.
