    Pizza bread sticks
    Michelle O.

Food was delicious! My son asked about the popper sauce just wanting a description, unfortunately the person could not give us much information which was disappointing but my son ordered the jalapeño popper burger and said it was good. I had the BBQ burger, it too was good. If you are GF they have options, vegan they have options. I have been told that certain items sell out often one being the GF pizza sticks. I did think that the place would be larger but it is small and quaint. If we are in the Freeport area again we will return. The only drawback, the up charge on fries.. I am not complaining, I understand up charges happen it is part of the business but $5 I thought was a bit much, again my opinion they were delicious! My $17 burger because $23

Misty's Chicken Sandwich! (But with fried chicken)

My kids and I popped in on a summer day after a bit of shopping at the outlets. The space was a smaller than expected (holds maybe 15-20ppl). I did notice a patio outside but nobody was sitting there and it wasn't clear if that was part of Nighthawk or Mast Landing. Drinks here are all bottled. My kids picked out $3 bottles of IBC rootbeer. When it came to ordering mains, I asked if I could get the Misty's chicken sandwich, but fried. That seemed to throw the waitress off. She said she'd check if that was allowed. When she returned she told me they'd do it for me because they weren't that busy. That seemed odd to be considering they had many fried chicken sandwiches on the menu. It wasn't like I was creating a dish. I just wanted those toppings on fried chicken, not grilled. Plus, my daughter ordered the Queso chicken sandwich so it quite literally wasn't going to take any more time to make mine than what we had already ordered. Strange, but nonetheless, they did it. I opted to add fries with a side of ranch ($4 up-charge for friends and $1 for ranch!). They were quite good, shoe string hand-cut style. Potato chips are the default side, which I'm not crazy about. Both of our sandwiches were plentiful and yummy. My son ordered the cheese pizza sticks. They were okay for a kid with basic taste buds, but not very seasoned or flavorful and not something I'd order again at $14. I think if I wanted to grab food from here again, I'd opt for takeout.

Nighthawk's has one of the best burgers going. It's fun to order at their takeout window inside Mast Landing Brewing. The kitchen crew works really hard. All ages welcome here.

This place is drool worthy delicious. The best part is that you can sit inside Mast Landing Brewing Company and order your food through a little takeout window that connects the restaurant and the brewery. I ordered the Classic Turkey Club. The sandwich is so big I could only eat half. I also ordered a large fry to share with my husband. With the size of the sandwiches, we agreed we could have ordered a small fry to share and still had plenty of food. I highly recommend and will definitely be back!

The service was helpful and great. They were good at explaining and sharing. The inside was clean and open for seating. Not too busy so if I did dine in it would have been good. I ordered Night Manna. It was decent and all. But they didn't put any sauces on it. You had to dress your own. The fries is what kept my rating at where it was. The pizza sticks were a fun treat but very basic in flavoring. Ordered a turkey sandwich that they forgot or misplaced the bacon. And the prices are way too high to entice me to come back.

A great little spot for food later in the evening. They are great for folks with allergies as well having gluten free buns and willing to work with you on what you need to not have. We got the corn fritters which were pretty good. I thought they needed a sauce but not bad. And everyone liked their burgers so an overall win!

In the same building as Mast Landing Brewery, with its own entrance and dining room as well as a pickup window inside Mast Landing. Their menu has a good assortment of finger foods, sandwiches, salads, and veggie-friendly items. As a burger aficionado, I hit the patty melt three times and their basic burger once. Patty Melt: Really tasty buttered and griddled rye housing a well crusted and very well seasoned beef slab. Juiciness has varied from freely gushing to just trickling. Patty size has varied a bit as well, from thick and fully stretching to the edges of the bread, to not as thick and not quite reaching. At its worst, it's still good eats. At its best, it's astonishingly elite. Classic Burger: A thin patty in the mashed style, loaded with seasoning. No pink, no juice. Fries: Plentiful, fresh cut, very potatoey, somewhat crisp, somewhat droopy, liberally salted. I like 'em, but those who don't like salt won't like these. Realistically, this place swings from a 3 to a 5, but highs have been higher and more frequent than lows, so gotta go with 4 stars. Looking forward to trying more of the menu, and their vegetarian friendly items for my wife make that very possible.

Grilled Chicken Sandwich with Shaved Brussel Sprouts, Bacon, and Caesar Salad

Needed quick bite to get through 5 hour drive and found Nighthawk's Kitchen right off I-95. Great spot that started as a Food Truck (see Portland's Food Editor's glowing review on wall). The Corn & Cheese Fritters with honey drizzled over them were to die for! The Mac & Cheese with Gouda Cheese, BBQ sauce, and little bits of green chilies (just enough) was also wonderful. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with shaved Brussel sprouts, crispy bacon, and Caesar Salad on a warm bun - absolutely incredibly tasting!!! Great setting, reasonably priced, attentive staff, and very clean spot. Perfect for a quick respite. You will be glad that you stopped by NightHawks!

My wife and I go to Freeport once in a great while so we try to find something new and boy did we find a gem. Nighthawk's Kitchen is off the beaten path, in the same area as the Shaws Plaza and located next to Mast Landing Brewing Company. You could miss it because it's a small space, but the food packs a punch (in a good way). The interior has seating for approximately 16. They have low and a couple high tables. They have a beverage cooler on the left, some business merchandise, a warmer for their breakfast on-the-go options and some confections sugar items leading up to the front desk. My wife and I were met by one of the staff who graciously opened the door for us. He provided us with a menu, said we could sit anywhere and offered us glasses of water while we browsed the menu. My wife ordered the Green Chile cheeseburgers which has hatch New Mexico green chilies and American cheese on a potato style role. She LOVED it as it brought back memories of her time in New Mexico. The owner did tell us that he get's all his green chiles directly from New Mexico through a vendor he has worked within when Nighthawk's was originally in New York. I had the BBQ burger which has bacon, bbq sauce, onion straws and I substituted vegan cheese in place of cheddar for dietary reasons. We also ordered a small fly for us to split. First off, I wasn't kidding when I said the food packs a punch. My burger was a smash burger style with great caramelization on the edges of the burger. One of the best burgers I have had in quite some time and my wife agrees hers was as well. The fries are hand cut, shoe string style. They par cook them in olive oil and then finish them in canola oil. They sprinkle salt and pepper on them and I ate them like I was eating popcorn till it was gone. Nighthawk's Kitchen looks and feels like a hole in the wall style restaurant and they are, but I enjoyed every minute of the atmosphere, customer service and the food. This would be a great spot for a future Yelp Elite event as they do offer alternative options. It may be a smaller menu than some, but there is no need to overload a menu that is already great to begin with. HIGHLY recommend trying!

Misty's sandwich was blessed with fresh chicken and a ceasar salad in a toasted potato bun. What more could you want? The BYOB burger is absolutely delicious and so fresh. Service was awesome and the prices are wonderful!

    Halloumi chick pea salad
    Emily M.

I have been here many times and the food has always been great. Today I enjoyed the special halloumi check pea salad and annihilated it. It was a quiet Friday lunch time treat in combination with a beer from Mast Landing. Would recommend a stop in for anyone nearby.

Rating 2 stars because the food was fabulous. However, service was terrible. We visited Maine and stopped in here on a Saturday. The left side is Nighthawk's and the right side is Mast Landing, but the kitchen connects to both places. This is the only reason I'm attaching this review to Nighthawks instead of Mast Landing. The staff in Nighthawks was excellent. They greeted and informed us we could order/eat on either side. We went next door because there was more room. However, that's when the service stopped. When we arrived, there was one additional party in the bar and three bartenders chatting behind the bar. They were also hosting a table where kids could paint pumpkins. No one greeted us or asked if we had been there before which would have been really helpful being that no one seats you or takes your order so we were left thinking, how does this work? There is a very wordy sign (think along the lines of the signs you see at airport security that no one reads) explaining the "process." Eventually, we figured out you order on your phone or via the kiosk near the kitchen window. However, if you have questions about ordering, don't bother. No one talks to patrons. Got our food which was very good. Drinks are mostly bottled and very small which is a problem when you run out midway through eating your burger. Finally found the bottle opener to open my Coke after flagging the cook down. In summary, the food is very good, but service is nearly non existent which ruins the entire experience. Technology is a tool which should be used to enhance business. In our experience here, it has been used to replace the service experience which is such a vital part of patronizing a business. Greet customers. Ask if they've been there before. If not, acquaint them with the process. Make a recommendation. Ask them what brought them in. All that costs nothing yet results in a much better customer experience.

The person who answered the phone was great very helpful. I tried to order online but got an error message not sure what that was about. The corn fritters with the honey drizzle were the star of the show so delicious. We ordered a small fry, it was a huge order of fries very good nice and thin and crispy. The Buffalo Mac and cheese was great just enough Buffalo sauce so it still tasted cheesy. The cavatappi pasta was a good choice as it holds the cheese sauce nicely. The chicken sandwich was tasty but it felt like there was a lot of breading and it was a thin piece of chicken. The Brussel sprout Caesar salad was lovely I wish I had gotten more of that it was so flavorful. I forgot to order dessert really want to try the Nutella cookie so I guess I will have to go back and get some more salad.

We have consistently had great experiences here. Food is always exactly what we hope for when ordering and in some cases, exceeded expectations. The service is always very good. Pleasant, prompt and fun to interact with. The management and staff at this location, are always so professional and well skilled. They definitely help make it a great experience. The environment hasn't really changed - cozy warm living room feel. Upholstered furniture. Still very nice. It's amazing that it doesn't feel worn out, even after all of these years. In the colder days, the fire place and fire pits are nice. Appetizers have been consistently great. The favorites: fresh bread, crab cakes, calamari and meatball Main dishes - any of the specials they offer are typically great. The most recent one I had was the crab cake and burrata risotto. Any pasta dish is usually amazing and I love ALL of their dinner salads with so many protein options you can add. The desserts - the only one that I know and love is the chocolate cake. ALWAYS consistently good! Parking - street and behind the restaurant there is a lower lot - difficult if you have accessibility needs, as it's an angled driveway. Warning - it's a one way in and one way out lot! There are signs, however, I have seen some people either not see them or ignore them. Drive slowly. Reservations - Easy peasy via the Resy App! I highly recommend reservations even on days you think it might be slow. This place is a main hub for the town and surrounding towns for a nice sit down dinner that isn't too casual.
