Wings
Heather B.

The lobster stew was great. I joked and said lobster flavored milk. But, all jokes aside it was delicious. It came with 4 lobster claw meat. I tried the lobster bisque. It was ok, nothing to rave about. I opted for the wings as I wasn't super hungry, but knew protein would've been a good choice. I was intrigued by the flavor, blueberry bbq wings. The wings came out naked, no sauce on them and you had to dip them into the small ramekins provided. I thought they would've been at least dressed and maybe having a nice small chart to them from cooking because that adds a fantastic flavor. But they came out naked and it wasn't what I was expecting. My son also ordered wings and his came out naked as well. My husband enjoyed his salad. He thought it was a great size. After reading some of reviews while sitting inside waiting for our food, I can understand where some customers are coming in regards to rude staff. When we walked in we were seated upstairs a few tables from the bar. While we sat and waited for our waiter many of the staff were chit chatting away. I really wanted to like this place so much. But something just seemed so off with the entire visit. It was as if nobody wanted to work, and they were just doing the best that they could except it was shown throughout most of their faces. It's such a shame because this location could do really well.

Tourist spot location but great quality cooking and a great menu! I was able to walk in on a weekday afternoon and get the pork sliders and blueberry cocktail! The service was prompt and friendly, and I sat alone at the bar so it was nice and peaceful. I cannot recommend the pork sliders enough! Each of the 3 came with a great size of perfectly cooked pork belly. The slaw and sauce were just bonus!

With closure of Jameson's Tavern we need to find a new favorite local place to eat. Linda Bean's Maine Kitchen is open 5 days a week, so we gave it a try. We opted for the Seafood Platter and split it. The waitress was nice and even gave us 2 plates to share it. Lots of clams, excellent scallops and tender fish. Fries were tasty as well. Overall a pretty decent lunch experience

Blueberry BBQ sauce Chicken Wings

I wanted to give this a higher review as I had some very tasty fresh oysters. The blueberry bbq sauce chicken wings were great wings but light on the blueberry. In the end it was a delightful meal. The waiter wasn't the most prompt as he didn't seem like he wanted to be there. The inside was clean and cozy. The upstairs was much quieter than the downstairs so that was a nice experience.

This restaurant presents itself as a better than average place. We had fried clama (photo is after we attacked them). They were delicious. Ordered a salad with scallops. There were 4. The salad was fresh and a good size. (again, the Pic is after we started.) My biggest complaint? The silverware was pressed. Actually hurt to cut food.

Food was average overall. The restaurant was nice inside and the service was solid. Just nothing to write home about.

Time: 1800-ish 2024 NOV 01 Crowd: Light Wait Time (to be seated): none Service: Slow but not for lack of trying by staff. They appear to be understaffed. Our waiter was working diligently. Food: They were out of quite a bit in the menu. Three out of four of our party had to order different items than originally wanted. Our waiter explained that the seasonal menu just changed, for what that's worth. I originally wanted the Cottage Pie but chose the cheeseburger as the back up. The cheeseburger was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. The homemade ships were very tasty as well. I moved on to dessert which was the fritter bites with sweet dips. Very nice! I will say again our waiter worked hard to ensure a great experience for us.

LBs Maine kitchen was just ok. Service was slow, and they somehow messed up chicken tenders. I probably wouldn't go back here again. We had a party of 7, and they quoted us a 30 min wait. That's fine, except we ended up waiting about 45 min. It would've been nice to get an update. I ordered the chicken tenders and they were dry inside and a bit chewy. They probably just got overcooked, but I've never had chicken tenders that tough. It was a major letdown. Our waiter was really nice though. He was great and made the experience better.

We stopped in for lunch whilst at our visit to the LL Bean store. The service was friendly and spot on. Ambiance very casual with booths and upstairs seating. The prices were high so I settled for the fried scallops. They were tasty and hot. Sides include french fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, and homemade chips. The star of the meal was the freshly made blueberry pie yum yum! Everyone at the table enjoyed it! Linda bean's place is close to the Polo outlet, the Patagonia and north face outlets across the street from LL Bean. A great place for lunch that's a bit high but worth the $.

Lobster claw salad

We stopped here for lunch in Freeport Maine. We had a good experience. We were seated promptly, had a friendly attentive waitress and quick service. We ordered a lobster roll, a cobb type of salad with lobster claw and blueberry chicken wings appetizer The chicken wings were tender and delicious. Loved the blueberry type of bbq wing sauce on them. The lobster in our dishes were fresh and tender. Portions were nice, good presentation and prices on par with the area. It was a memorable lunch.

Linda Bean's is a cute restaurant in the heart of Freeport! They had a couple of vegetarian options to choose from, either a salad or an apple brie grilled cheese sandwich. I ordered the brie grilled cheese sandwich and it was okay. I felt like there was barely anything inside the sandwich. There was a few pieces of apple and a little bit of cheese, but overall was mostly bread. It was not very filling. I've had apple brie grilled cheeses before and this one needed a bit more work. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals. The lobster bisque was very thick and creamy. The restaurant itself is pretty big, two floors plus a patio. They were able to accommodate our large party of 12, and we had to wait around 40 minutes for 3 tables. Although we all ordered at the same time, the two other tables were done eating by the time our table got our food. Overall, it was good and I would come back, but I would try the salad instead.

Fish and chips

Lunch for 4 last week. Convenient location, large dining spaces (up and down) to handle big crowds. Big menu with something for everyone. My wife and I had the fish and chips (pictured below). Unusual in that the fish was in nugget or "bite" form which means it is easy to eat, but had more batter. It was a bit dry, but the tartar sauce helps with that. Huge portions on everything we ordered - I was able to finish my fish but could barely put a dent in the fries. The slaw was pretty good, I caught a hint of onion in it. Not a bad place for lunch if you are doing some "retail therapy" across the street, you'll leave filled up.

The food was extraordinarily salty. I had the scallops. When I told the waitress, she said the creatures are from the salt water.

Fantastic Lobster Rolls and fried clams…read more When I visited, we had the Lobster Roll and fried clams. The lobster wasn't overcooked, was plentiful, and enjoyable. The fried whole clams were not over-cooked and were juicy. This place is on the side of a road with outdoor seating, so if it's snowing or raining, you may need to eat in your car. I ate during the summer when the weather was good. The staff was extremely friendly when taking my order and it came out quickly. I am looking forward to visiting again and trying more of the menu, but a Lobster Rolls with Fried Clams or Oysters are my default order to try out a new spot, it shows the amount of lobster on a roll as well as their skill at frying. I wish that they were a little closer to Portland, as I will likely only stop by on my way to or from LL Bean in Freeport.

We still love their smashburgers - you can get a signature one and you can build your own - they have really expanded options over the past 5 years. The chicken sandwiches are always so good. I recently discovered I loved the Jalapeño Popper Chicken sandwich. Their fries are always so great - especially if you have queso. Speaking of queso - one of the best things they have added to their appetizer menu...chips and queso- We love eating the leftover queso with our fries with our sandwiches. Chips have a lovely seasoning - sometimes a little heavy handed with flavor - but they are still delicious. I love their breadstick/pizza appetizer. it's more a focaccia bread and it's soooo good. Sometimes I just have that for my main meal. They have wonderful local beers in the cooler and wonderful sparkling non-alcoholic options as well. Don't forget to ask about their specials. In January we had the chicken curry soup - holy moly - it was SOOOOOO GOOOD!!!! And the warm pita that accompanies it. It's perfect. The shaved brussel sprout caesar is soooo good and VERY filling. While it's a small dining area - we have never found it crowded where there weren't seats. The food is just as delicious to-go. They do a ton of to-go orders. We will continue to be regulars (no less than 1x every couple of months). Don't forget you can earn Toastab Rewards!

The portion sizes were large and I love my food. I was able to take home half my sandwich in my brussels sprouts, and each of us took home one of those sweet honey corn fritter thingies. I hope if you're in the area, you're gonna stop by and check this place out it's also attached to a brewery but my husband and I we don't drink so we weren't interested in that And I felt the price was just right for the food

Let's start with the cocktails, because they truly deserve top billing. I always order the seasonal espresso martini, and somehow it just keeps getting better. This time it was tiramisu-inspired, and it was unreal. Rich, balanced, not overly sweet, and actually tasted like the dessert without feeling heavy. Whoever is behind that bar knows exactly what they're doing. The fish and chips? You cannot go wrong. Perfectly crisp batter, flaky fish, and fries that hold their own. It's one of those dishes you order once and then find yourself thinking about days later. That said, everything we've tried over multiple visits has been consistently excellent. It's the kind of menu where you feel safe branching out because you know it's going to deliver. The space itself adds to the whole experience. The architecture is beautiful, with warm wood tones and big windows that bring in natural light and make the river views part of the meal. It manages to feel polished and special without being stuffy. You can dress up a little or come in relaxed and still feel right at home. And the service is always attentive in that effortless way. Our servers have consistently been knowledgeable, present, and genuinely welcoming without hovering. It makes the whole night feel easy.
