BBQ pork taco
Sydney G.

Food: I got a BBQ pork taco and a side of Mac n cheese. Both were delicious. The taco was flavorful and the Mac n cheese had tons of cheese and tasted great. The food can get a little expensive if you get a bunch of apps but it is well worth it when it comes to the taste. Service: The people here are awesome. They are personable and easy to joke around with. The owner came and talked with my party for a few minutes and gave us some great recommendations for a fun fall afternoon. Ambience: There is a lovely outdoor seating area as well as a few nice spacious indoor tables. The decor is new and well maintained.

By an act of providence we could not get a larger table at Royal River Grille a week ahead, the group was coming from all over southern Maine and this location met the time tables sorted out. Food, drinks, service, ambience and mostly importantly the Staff (especially Sarah) were outstanding! Prices reasonable for location. Inside and outdoor dining. And you have to pay $5 for the chips and house made sauces to accompany the perfect margaritas and cold tap beers, but it is so worth it!

Locally Sauced is in one of the best locations in Portland currently. It's a really hip, comfortable smaller space that can maybe accommodate twenty two or so people situated in a brick building next to a distillery, adjoining a brewery (they even have a window in the brewery side so you can order there), and two doors down from a winery. The staff is awesome; super friendly and totally accommodating. Vegan? They can guide you in the right direction! And their sauces? Try. Them. All!!! The blueberry chipotle is the perfect sweet and mild heat; the citrus serrano and mango habanero pack more of a spicy punch, but taste very similar to each other in my opinion. There are a few other things that miss the mark for me personally. Coming in at 4:30 in the afternoon, I was surprised there was no happy hour offerings. It's difficult to pay $10 to $11 dollar for a margarita when a dozen other places in town are offering similar (and some better) ones for just $5. Which leads me to the price: for two margaritas, three tacos, and an enchilada thing we spent $52 (that was before tip) - it adds up quickly here. And finally, and I know this is really nitpicking but a) the chips were strange: they tasted overcooked and didn't have any salt; maybe we just had a bad batch, but we didn't end up eating them; and b) there's no avocado or guacamole here, and that's kind of a bummer. Overall, if you're at Thompson's Point, Locally Sauced *will* hit the spot. I'm just not sure, for locals, if it's a destination spot you come out of your way for at this point.

Pastrami taco

Popped in here after a visit to the Makers Market At Thompson's point. On an impulse I got a pastrami taco just because I never hear of it , it was really good a bit on the drippy side but I think it was the Sauerkraut . I looked around and saw the nachos looked like something I might need to go back for. Staff was very friendly.

We were pleased to support them by taking out food over the pandemic, bu SO cool to be eating inside. Delicious burrito bowl and chicken banh mi burrito and of course the house-made chips. Excellent drinks and service. Staff masked and socially distanced tables

Chips and salsa

I was extraordinarily underwhelmed and disappointed with the quality of the food at this place, especially considering the price point. I'm always a fan of food places connected with breweries, but this place really fell short of the mark. We were looking for a small appetizer to hold us over until dinner and settled on chips and salsa. The "salsa" that comes with the chips is pico de gallo served on top of the chips. And let me tell you, it was probably the most BLAND and unsatisfying pico I have ever had. The chips themselves had a weird after taste that could not be drowned out with the pico as it had no flavor (and left me wishing it wasn't poured on top of the chips). In addition you are given a side of green salsa to dip your chips in which made them edible, but we were given barely enough to use on 1/3 of the chips we had. Overall I would not recommend this place... if you are a few beers deep at bissel brothers it might seem worth it, but honestly you would be better off requesting delivery from somewhere else. It's not worth the price for unremarkable and bland food.

Only try the nachos but it was good. Probably would come back. It was an $18 tray of goodness

Nice people and the potato skin app was very good but the food is pretty expensive and it feels more like a drinking spot.

It is a quaint and small and unsassuming place that packs 'em in tight but the great thing is that I was able to book a reservation ahead of time for a Friday night and we were able to be seated right away and our adventure begins. There were many vegan options for my better half and she also got a non alcoholic margarita that she enjoyed tremendously. I got three different styles of tacos and appetizers and they were divine ... (Pork Belly, Carnitas, Fried fish taco) The ambiance and the energy of the place was fantastic with the server being very good at what he did. We will definitely be back!

Bird & Co is the best Mexican spot in Portland…read more I'm not saying it's the most authentic, I'm not saying it's perfect, I'm not saying their cocktail program is going to change your life, but... 1. They take reservations (including for brunch on the weekends) and it's super easy to do online. How many places in this city are doing this? The answer is: still not many. 2. Their menu is clearly labeled with what's vegan and vegetarian. No guessing here, and the staff has always been quick to double-check with the kitchen if there are any questions or concerns. Segue... 3. The chips and guacamole for currently $10 are the same quantity of (and I mean this lovingly) overly salted, house fried - sometimes too fried - chips and a tiny scoop of good guac as most places in town that are CHARGING YOU MORE. Segue... 4. There are places in town now charging $8 to $10 for ONE TACO. And they're sometimes quite small. The tacos here average between $4.75 and $6.50 for creative, flavorful, interesting, filling options (also you can get them on either flour or corn, no upcharge). The menu changes from time to time, and I wish they'd bring back the fried yuca taco, but the solid vegan solid options right now are Adobo Sweet Potato, Fried Plantain, and Crispy Tofu. Segue... 5. The taquitos, brussel sprouts, and cheesecake are all vegan. Segue... 6. The brunch (10am to 2pm, Saturday and Sundays) options for vegans are probably the most impressive in town: tofu or chorizo or fresh avocado tacos, huevos rancheros, churro french toast, avocado toast, chimichangas. 7. The Mexican cold brew might change your life (... or at least make you really happy when you're playing hooky from work and having an 11am drink). Switch the tequila for house whisky, skip the vespertino, ask for a side of oat milk... no changes to the price when doing this, by the way, because they're THAT kind of place that isn't trying to punish you constantly with extra fees. 8. The staff is so accommodating, they're thoughtful, they check-in just the right amount. Sure, I've had a few bad experiences here, but overall... sit at the bar, make a friend, and just ask/just talk to them if you're missing something/need something etc. 9. The atmosphere here is Portland right before it became too cool (IYKYK). It's casual and relaxed, it can be intimate and loud when it's busy, it feels quite trendy yet still approachable when they've got their newly updated outside area set-up. 10. It's off peninsula which also changes the demographic and vibe entiiiiiiiiiirely. For the good. 6/5 no notes.

We were there on a Tuesday around 11:45 and stayed until around 1:30/2pm - There was a steady stream of people getting take out and the dinning aread was 3/4 full the entire time. It seems to be a very popular place. The menu is pretty easy to read on the wall to your right as you walk in. it's pretty easy - you can choose a option from the wall and you can customize your burrito, quesadilla, nachos etc further when you get to the counter. I have never been to a chipotle, so I can't compare it. I love the fact that it's locally owned. For those that do not like cilantro - it's only in two things..one of the rice options and the pico...other than that you are safe. For those that love cilantro, you can ask for extra. I had the supreme nachos with pork and nacho cheese, jalapenos, black beans and lettuce....SOOOOOO GOOOD!!!! and very very filling. I liked the food so much that I ordered a to-go dish for my husband. He loved his food. he said the seasoning was light, but he enjoyed it. Of all the times coming here and eating their food both breakfast and lunch/dinner have had no complaints. Service has always been friendly and quick! They have some space indoors to dine but us like many others order then take it home to eat. They follow a similar model as places like Chipotle and Subway where you order and watch your food be made and can choose the toppings/fill ins. You can enjoy so many great options of burritos, tacos, bowls/salads, fries, quesadillas plus some other things. I have always enjoyed their burritos, maybe I need to expand to other things next time. My wife enjoys their bacon breakfast burrito and I enjoy their chorizo breakfast burrito. Lunch wise my wife enjoys their Burrito Americano while I think their Steak Bomb Burrito is great! They offer a good variety in fillings, spice levels, and flavors. Food always tastes fresh and high quality to us. Give their menu a look and check this spot out! Definitely worth your time!

My husband had chicken fingers, which just seemed like frozen & fried chicken tenders. Nothing special. My entree was a small spinach and wild mushroom specialty pizza. While the topping of caramelized mushrooms, spinach and Gorgonzola with a balsamic glaze drizzle was a good combo, the crust was very bland and did not have any flavor. Pizza is all about the crust, and I prefer a thick, chewy crust although I eat other types often. This crust was more like Greek style, but thinner. I would not go back for the pizza, which for a pizza place, is not ideal. I have had the wings in the past, which were good. The server was friendly. We ordered the daily special, a beef brisket with celery root/potato mash and brisket filled ravioli with a truffle cream sauce. The ravioli was the winner here for me - I would bottle up that truffle cream sauce and sell it. I love that they kept a good portion of the original framework of the building - it adds to the romantic touch to the rustic interior. Open concept kitchen at the platform made it fun to peep into every once in awhile during dinner. Great for date night and special occasions.
