French Rita and Strawberry Jalapeno Margarita
    Jenna W.

Ran in for a quick drink before an event. The staff was happy to get us in and out quickly, which we greatly appreciated. We had the French Rita and strawberry jalapeño margarita. Both were delicious and unique. Always enjoy an evening here and will be back for dinner!

The best Mexican food I've found on the East Coast!! Southern California born and raised and hadn't found a joint that tastes like home till Taco Escobarr. Thank you to the wonderful angel that worked at the Westin for recommending them. We braved the 2 degree weather to get the recommended crunchy taco. The Carne Asada was phenomenal! It hit my soul! It tasted like home. We went to a show at The State Theater and left a little early so we could grab a churro before we headed back to our room. It was delicious!! Better than Disneylands churros! Beyond happy to have braved the cold for this fantastic place that now holds a record in my book! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super cute decor and vibe and the bartender was on top of it![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Super friendly and ran a tight ship! Great ex

Taco Escobar is definitely one of my top taco spots, especially when paired with my favorite cocktail! It's usually busy, so there's often a bit of a wait, but this time we only waited under 20 minutes for a party of four, which was a pleasant surprise. Our server was fantastic and checked in on us frequently. I had the shrimp tacos with the puffy shells which was delicious, and the crunchy ones were just as good! You have to try their infused tequila; they offer such a cool variety of flavors. I always go for a Paloma, and it's always a 10/10.

Super tasty drinks. These actually saved us from our hangover after a very wild last night of vacation in downtown Portland. Lots of margarita flavor options. The bartender was great! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super cute vibe in here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This was my third attempt to eat at Taco Escobarr. The first two times there was an hour plus wait and the second the kitchen was backed up by 40 minutes. We came in for lunch and got seated in a booth right away. I ordered the shrimp, fried avocado, and fish tacos. They came out very quickly! The tacos were filling, but for $5.50 a taco, I expected them to be a lot bigger. There is also an upcharge for the fish/shrimp.

The service was great! Love the margaritas! Tacos were wonderful! Great place for a late night meal. Casual atmosphere.

consistently great mexican food! it's pretty much your traditional, run-of-the-mill mexican food but with a really fun atmosphere and they're open late. the place is small and often packed, but usually no longer than a 30 minute wait in my experience. they don't take reservations. they don't tend to take risks with their menu, but all their dishes are great. the avocado fries are BOMB. all-in-all, great place!

This weekend I took my best friend and it was perfect, even in the middle of winter. The deck is still open with plenty of space heaters and even heated seat cushions. We actually got so warm we had to peel off layers, which feels like a small miracle in Maine. The two of us love a marg & taco outing, and make a point to scope out the best of the best. We started with chips and salsa and some queso, which were the perfect kickoff. Then we ordered the street corn succotash, my absolute favorite. It's packed with flavor and topped with the most delicious, salty cotija cheese that pulls everything together. I crave that dish. We split the smoked brisket tacos and the smoked pork carnitas tacos, and both were outstanding. The meat was smoky and tender, the flavors were bold without being overdone, and every bite delivered. And the margaritas? Excellent and refreshing. Exactly what you want alongside that food. On top of all that, the staff is consistently wonderful. Every single time we've gone, our waitstaff has been charming, attentive, and genuinely helpful with recommendations. They strike that perfect balance of checking in without hovering, and they make you feel welcome from start to finish. Terlingua never disappoints. Great atmosphere, incredible food, thoughtful touches that keep you cozy even in winter, and a team that clearly cares about the experience.

That being Chip, Guacamole, and Salsa. I will say I was a bag fan of the Guacamole. I was very was seasoned and very fresh. So for the mains them Family Style comes with Smoked Prime Brisket, Pork Shoulder (Pulled Pork), and the Rotating Daily BBQ which for us I believe were Burnt Ends which are one of my favorites. For the side we had Mac & Cheese Cornbread w/ Honey Butter, House BBQ Sauce & Spicy Vinegar with Pickles and Salad. To start with the sides that Mac & Cheese was really good but the winner was for the the Cornbread with the Honey Buter. The 2 just paired together so well. For the mains my favorites were the Smoked Prime Brisket and the Burnt Ends. The Brisket was good., probably not in my top 3 all time but for sure a must try. The Burnt Ends were also very good. You can't always get Burnt Ends but when you can it's for sure a must. We really enjoyed Terlingua and can't thank the staff enough for working with us for this event. For sure a must stop in Portland when you have a big party. Just plan ahead because they are so helpful to work with.

Even if you don't, and even if you have to wait a few mins for a seat, don't be deterred - it's so worth it! The feeling inside feels like a celebration of culture, like a Mexican restaurant got a glow-up. Big comfy booths invite you to sit and stay a while. The menu is small but thoughtful and the drinks, from the horchata and cold brew to the cocktails, are nicely curated and feature delightfully unique and seasonal ingredients. My mango coffee cocktail was nothing I would've ordered on my own but I took a recommendation from the bartender and was blown away by how well the flavors played together. Anything you get to eat will be exceptional. If I'm not mistaken, this is the sister restaurant to Teralingua. If you know anything about their brisket, you have a slight idea of what delights await you! Most recently, we tried the brisket grilled cheese birria-style, with consomme on the side for dipping. Let me tell you, my eyes rolled so far back in my head, I lost a contact lens. The service, even at the bar, was wonderful - Jenny was friendly but chill, helpful, quick. A sheer delight during times when great service seems like a relic of the past. We always leave stuffed with a smile on our face.

I could've done without the lettuce in the burrito, and I did remove 1 star because it was falling apart when I got home and I ended up having to use my own (store bought) tortilla, which was disappointing after paying $17 for a burrito. Even so, everything was super flavorful! Tacos would be my recommendation to others. I also very much appreciate that the food is all authentic and handmade, they had picnic tables in the shade for seating, and the chef was welcoming and happy to explain the menu options.

I have heard great things and was really hoping they had pupusas available on the truck... but no such luck. Only tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. That's ok because the very kind gentleman on the truck made the 3 Amigos sound really good! It's one pork, one beef, and one chicken taco on homemade tortillas with the standard fixings - onion, cilantro, guac, and salsa. I will say that the homemade tortillas are very good, though different than most I've had. They are soft to the point of almost being creamy? Very very rich, reminded me of the base of a sope. The meats were absolutely delicious and grilled and full of flavor. I loved both the pork and the beef, though the fattiness could've used an extra lime or two. I took one bite of the chicken taco and got a couple little bones, so I didn't eat the rest of that one. The sauces were good, though I was told one of the sauces was VERY VERY hot and I didn't detect a lot of spiciness from it. I think overall, I could've used double garnish, double lime, and a lot of extra heat. There are no prices on the board so I was thinking three tacos would come to like $10 - $12. Turns out they are $20 before tax, holy moley. I admit that my expectations were high before I even took a bite, because that price point is a little crazy. I am super curious about the brick and mortar because I'm sure it's a different experience with the food truck. These tacos were definitely tasty enough to do some more research!

That's on me, though, because this is an excellent local restaurant run by a great family. And it says something that they have been around for so long and have even survived (And expanded!) through COVID. The front counter area is a bit crowded and busy because the door opens right up into it. It's efficient but it does mean making your selection and order can be a little awkward if there are others waiting. After the counter, though, there's plenty of space inside to sit down and there are even several tables outside along the building. The food was great. Like I said, it had been a while for me, so I decided to keep it simple and go for a few tacos. I will say that $6-$6.50 feels steep for a single taco. However, I have watched and listened to many chefs say that the idea that Mexican food should be quick and cheap is a huuuge misconception. So, while I'm no food expert, I think that's something to consider, and of course I understand that prices these days for raw materials have increased considerably. Ultimately it's certainly not a cost prohibitive level at this point. I had the Pollo con Mole (Chicken with mole sauce), Taco al Pastor (Pork and pineapple), and the Barbacoa (BBQ goat) Tacos. My favorite by far was the goat. I'm a sucker for Tacos al Pastor so that was good, and the chicken with mole was great. I got an extra order of chips because I didn't realize the tacos came with chips. So heads up on that if you want some chips with your meal. One of the things I was most excited about was the Agua Fresca. Basically it's a fruit juice. They make those and horchata (rice milk) in house with rotating flavors. The agua fresca was strawberry when I got it and it was absolutely delicious. I definitely need to keep Taco Trio in mind the next time I'm hungry for some takeout. They should not be missed!
