Delish! So much food for the money we spent, and I was impressed with their lunch combo options!

Guacamole - maybe we should have tried table side? Next time!

Running errands that should have had us home for lunch, but things took longer so we searched for a place near our last stop - hadn't heard of Rio Bravo before but decided to give it a try. We sat at the bar and received excellent service. The place is pretty authentically decorated and the food was fabulous. I enjoyed the lunch special - half a burrito, chicken tortilla soup, and a salad with yummy avocado creamy dressing. Wayne had a combo - rice, enchilada and a carne asada burrito. It was all delish and we didn't take any home! One minor note - we had guacamole that wasn't quite up to par, chips and salsa were great.

I love the chille releno here. It's hands down my favorite. Their refried beans are incredibly flavorful too. Great food. Never disappoints.

As we were out and about looking for places to eat on a Saturday, we decided to stop by this location after being told by many people that the food here was excellent. As you walk into what was the old Ruby Tuesdays in Westbrook, they've changed the entire decor to the southern Tex-Mex style with animal skulls, and masks all around the bar. We were greeted by one of the most friendly waiters I've ever met in my life. His name was Ben and he went above and beyond to make sure our experience was amazing. I had the three combination platter with two burritos and one enchilada, and my wife had the vegetarian style meal with black beans and other delicious items that she ranted and raved about. A lot of times we can judge a Mexican style restaurant by how their salsa and their chips are when they bring them to the table. I know this sounds silly, but it is always worked for us and this time this restaurant did not disappoint. For dessert, we had the churros and they were delectable warm, scrumptious and divine. We will definitely be back here again as my wife said, "I think this is our new favorite Mexican restaurant"

Nice warm chips and salsa to start. Very pleasant and attentive wait staff. I had a beef quesadilla which was perfect. $22. with tip and a Diet Coke.

Totally impressed. Service was top notch with the waiter checking in on us without being annoying. The nachos with beef we had were loaded with toppings. The portions are quite large and the food is authentic Mexican. I always order the spicy salsa along with the regular and mix them to create a spicy delight.

Still one of my favorite places with consistently great food, drinks, and service. Love this family-owned business!

My favorite place. The parking is close and there are many spots close to the door. Drinks are tasty and come in large portions for a reasonable price. I'm having my usual meal, the Marco Polo, shrimp tacos. You can't go wrong.

Rio Bravo has always been a good experience and this time was no different. I came with two friends around 5pm and there was no wait. They are situated in a plaza so there is a ton of free parking. There is plentiful seating inside and they can accommodate large parties or groups. They have a very large menu of delicious authentic Mexican food. You can feel the vibe as soon as you enter the establishment. Our server was very nice and attentive. She came by often but not too much to check on us. We were given water and chips and salsa upon seating. We tried some margaritas - the skinny one and a classic strawberry on the rocks. Both were so good. A little expensive at $15 and $14 respectively. They are good portions of drinks though. Although I did not get it today, they make a table side guacamole which I love. It really adds to the experience! We each got some tacos which comes with beans, rice, and a mini "salad" which consists of lettuce and pico. My go to are the Marco Polo Tacos which are bacon wrapped shrimp tacos. Can't beat that. It comes with a creamy, spicy, sauce which is to die for. Everything was delicious. I also used the bathroom which was clean and handicap accessible. The entire restaurant is handicap accessible. This is a great spot for a date night, dinner with friends/family, or a bigger gathering. I would definitely recommend Rio Bravo!

A fun, lively, and exceptional experience at Rio Bravo! We dined here on New Year's Eve expecting a large duel holiday/Sunday lunch crowd, but we were seated right away and had the most amazing server (the receipt said her name was Margarita). She was always nearby if we needed something, super duper friendly and never seemed vexed by our requests. She is the best! As far as the food goes - margaritas were big and delicious. Chips were nice and warm and salsa was tasty. The red sauce covering my partner's burrito was soooo good... All the way out here in Maine and it legit reminded me of some of the sauces we would get in California. We had to ask for some of it to go, it was that good! The world's best tacos were tasty and absolutely loaded with steak, such a good value for what they are. I would just like some sauce on there so they didn't eat dry, but they were still great! The churros were fresh and delicious too. Everything came out so quick and the whole atmosphere was very inviting. We so look forward to coming back here for drinks and dinner and everything in between!

Brought my elderly mother and her sister for lunch. Waitress had a hard time answering basic questions and I had to go look for her to ask for water after our drinks were empty for a while and also to ask where our food was since it had been 40 minutes. My mother's arm was in a sling so she needed something easy to eat. I ordered the burrito bowl with ground beef. When we finally got our food they gave her steak instead. I mentioned it to the waitress and she shrugged her shoulders. I asked her if they could remake it or if it would take a long time and again she shrugged her shoulders and kind of indicated it would take a while. Maybe she wasn't fluent in English? In any case, if a mistake is made then it should be corrected or something should be offered to rectify it. Neither happened. My mother ended up not liking the dish too and my chicken burrito bowl wasn't much better. Very little flavor. Again, won't be back.

We came for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, expecting it to be packed. It was actually pretty quiet and service was exceptional. There were a couple of drink specials that we had to try - a Mexican Espresso Martini with honey tequila and cinnamon simple syrup and a spicy pineapple margarita. Both were amazing. Chips were warm and salsa was good. After we ordered, the food came out quick - shockingly so. Both my chicken tamale and Chile relleno were smothered in this amazing red sauce with nice chile flavor. The relleno had a very satisfying cheese pull and reminded me of what I used to get in Southern California. The chicken in the tamale was a little dry, but I used the red sauce to solve that problem real quick. The dish that I was a little disappointed in was the birria taco - the consomme was very oily and didn't have that depth of flavor that you expect from this dish. There also wasn't nearly enough cheese. The braised beef inside was very very tender and tasty, though. The Pollo Sinaloense - a thinly pounded and breaded chicken breast topped with chorizo and cheese - was unique and delicious, and nicely balanced with a little salad and Spanish rice. The restaurant itself is bigger than it looks from the outside and the booths are nice and comfy. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations. They seem to have a great happy hour and a huge menu, so we can't wait to return to try some more!
