Ok ok... I admit it... We came exclusively for the soft serve margs. Saw a post on IG and considering how unbearably thirsty we've been during this hot hot summer, this was at the tippy top of our list! There was a small wait on a Sunday evening (less than 10 minutes), then we were seated in a comfy booth near the front. Warm chips and salsa were brought almost immediately. Chips looks homemade (they are GIANT and so crispy!) You get a carafe of salsa and individual bowls, so double dip away. Our server, Jesus, had a smile the whole time. He was so friendly, quick, and helpful throughout the whole meal! When we asked for the soft serve margs, he gave a knowing grin and went to fetch them. First off - these babies are just as beautiful in person as they are on Instagram! So bright, smooth, creamy, and the flavorrr... Girrrl, I could down so many of these. It's like sherbet but alcoholic. I hope they make millions of dollars off of them because holy moly, they are brilliant. Ok, so we couldn't just drink. We also tried the rancheros enchiladas and birria tacos. Both dishes were excellent. Great flavor and heavy on the cheesy goodness. The portions are super generous so of course we went home with a container stuffed full of lunch for the next day. We also came home with the churros which were so freaking good, especially with the accompanying caramel sauce. I know others have mentioned this but I must say it too - the value here is outstanding. The prices are so reasonable for what you get. Those creamy dreamy margs were only $12 a pop, yet another reason to order more than one. Their menu is vast and it's a something-for-everyone type joint. I would happily made the 40 minute haul from Windham to eat here any time. And you should too! read more

Went yesterday for lunch. Place fairly quiet for a Saturday at 1 pm. Nice decor, bathroom clean which is always a good sign. Greeted immediately by a very nice server - Eddie. Took drink orders and asked we wanted anything to start. Ordered tableside guacamole. Also love the idea of everyone having separate dipping bowls for salsa - you can double dip all you want. And need to because the chips are HUGE! Once we had the guacamole which was fabulous!, we ordered lunch. I ordered carne asada with corn tortillas, did my friend. Someone else ordered nachos which had both beef and chicken, and a 4th person some enchiladas I believe. Huge portions like I read on reviews. Everything was great! Loved my steak tacos; had enough leftovers for dinner. Everyone else had leftovers and loved their dishes. Definitely going back. We were passing through on our way up north for a football overnight and stopped here on a whim for dinner. I'm so glad we did! Everything was great- chips look homemade and were hard to stop eating, my margarita was well balanced... But let's just get to the real star of the show here- the birria is LEGIT. I live on the ME/NH border and would totally consider driving up here just for these tacos. I've had the hardest time finding anything *close* to the birria I've had while traveling down south near home. This is by far the best we've found. We have been dying to try Peppers, since it opened in Biddeford, near the gateway shopping plaza. We were immediately greeted by a very friendly and polite host. The host gave us to a server and seated us at a booth in the dinning room. We got a basket of warm tortillas and a craft of salsa. They were so delicious, and within a few moments we'd looked over the menu. Out server was polite, friendly, efficient and personable. He had braces. He was delightful! The decor was also well done, as they had put candles in some light fixtures and the effect was very pretty! I got the beef and chicken taquitos Mexicana, and my Finance got quesadilla fajita and both of our plates were licked clean. We also shared an order of the churros, and another licked clean plate ! The food was good, the service was great, and everything we've heard about this place, is true! If you haven't already, check them out!! The are located where the old casa fiesta used to be! We had family visiting from out of town and were on the hunt for a good Mexican spot. We happened to be in the area and stumbled upon Pepper's Mexican Cuisine. It didn't have many reviews yet, but the ones we saw were positive, so we took a chance. Turns out, this is a newer addition to the Biddeford food scene. I chatted with some of the staff, who shared that this used to be a different Mexican restaurant but it's under entirely new ownership now with a new menu and a totally different vibe. I never visited the previous spot, but I can say this: it's going to be hard for me to go anywhere else in Maine when I'm craving Mexican food. We had such an incredible experience; we all left full, happy, and so glad we stopped in. From the outside (and honestly, the inside too), it kind of feels like a fancy version of Chili's, and I mean that in the best way. It's welcoming and unpretentious, but also has some fun, elevated touches that make it feel a little more polished. We really liked the decor and the overall vibe. The service was great! The staff treated us like family, and someone (assuming the manager or owner?) even stopped by to check in and ask about our experience. But what really sealed the deal was the food (and the prices). Everything was delicious, and the portions were huge. We're not usually ones to take leftovers, but there was no way we were finishing it all. The queso fundido was probably the best I've ever had, my husband's burrito was the size of his head (and they apparently have an even bigger one on the menu), and the jalapeño margaritas were dangerously good. I would've had a couple more if they weren't so big. Pepper's totally exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to go back. read more

The ambiance is what you would want from a Mexican restaurant and the service is good too, the issue is the food, it's not great. We ordered our lunch items and they brought the food out almost immediately, it was pretty apparent they had it ready and waiting on warming trays. My taco salad was not attractive or salad like at all, basically it was a mound of shredded lettuce topped with a few chopped tomatoes and chicken scraps likely intended for a taco or burrito. It was not good and I struggled to eat a few bites. It was affordable but I'd rather pay more for quality. We won't be going back as there are better options for Mexican food in the area. read more

I had heard on Facebook thay Pepper's was worth a try, so we decided to grab an early dinner there. It's a really great spot! The decor is exactly what you're hoping to see in a Mexican restaurant, and not at all kitschy or tacky. And the place was assiduously clean, too. There are a number of comfy booths, plenty of tables, a well-appointed bar, and a bunch of outdoor tables, too. The staff was really outstanding. They made great suggestions and we enjoyed having our guacamole prepared tableside, just how we like it. The food was very tasty and piping hot! The Quesabirria was a big hit! Whoa! A burrito nearly the size of my calf! I have eaten Tex/Mex Mexican food all over this country & Peppers is among the very best! We were immediately greeted at the door & seated. Within seconds we had a big bowl of thin, crispy corn chips & house salsa placed on the table. Our entrees were delivered only a couple minutes after placing the order. Hot & delicious, everything in my burrito was freshly cut & served on big, oval plates that barely held the massive meal! The food was well spiced, with hotter condiments placed on the table for those with a more daring palate. A large Dos Equis on tap rounded out a wonderful meal in an area of the restaurant that was decorated to make you feel as though you were in a beautiful courtyard outdoors. Nice low lighting, too. Wow, I've been missing my favorite Mexican food - tacos AL Pastor. Sadly I never noticed this place until today, looked at their menu and couldn't believe it, so here I am. Had to try it even though I already ate. On the bright side, I sampled one of the 3 large, tacos. They come on traditional corn tacos, accompanied by an onion-cilantro mix, some lime wedges, and a different style salsa. OK, it was very good. And don't be thrown off by there only being 3 tacos, they were large. They could jabr probably made 6 or 7 small tacos similar to how it would usually be served down in San Antonio, ie 4 or 5 small tacos making a plate. The only other difference is they are served on just one taco, whereas in San Antonio they would typically be doubled up. Oh yeah, they also start you off with the usual complementary tortillas and salsa, which were good too, but the salsa was not spicy so I added some El Yucateo habenero sauce to make it right. I'll definitely be back, and highly recommend their AL Pastor. And friendly, prompt service too. May bueno! read more

I see all the 4/5 star reviews and I must be missing something. Four of us went for dinner and the food came out 5 minutes after we ordered. Obviously, it's not a scratch kitchen. I got the chicken & steak quesadillas. The steak was inedible. In fact, I told my dinner date it tasked like dog food. The chicken, over cooked, no flavor also inedible. Nothing comes with guacamole. You have to pay extra if you want it. The sour cream, was a tablespoon on top of some shredded lettuce. My date also disliked her dish. I heard so many good things about this place and was excited to try it only to be very disappointed. I will not be going back or recommend it to anyone ever. read more

This was the first experience at this establishment. I must say it was definitely a positive one. We were immediately met at the door with a smile and shown to our table. Our waiter Oscar followed up immediately with taking our drink order. House Margarita and a tall Draft Modelo Especial. Once the drinks arrived we were ready to order our meal. My wife started with the house made guacamole as an appetizer. Then it was a chicken fajita with extra rice. I ordered the skillet burrito with chicken. Also, for the table was a cheese enchilada and fries. The food arrived relatively quick and was hot, always a plus. The burrito had good flavor and the sauce was somewhat sweet. The fries had a good taste and the chicken fajita was definitely on par. The restaurant has a low key and positive energy that is inviting and welcoming. I had ordered delivery from Pepper's multiple times but tonight was my first time going to the restaurant. My mother and I went and had an amazing experience. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and the food...WOW the food was so good. I had loved it as delivery but in person even better. My mum had the shrimp fajitas and I had the shrimp tacos. As a Mexican from Texas and living now in Maine for over 7 years, real Mexican food is slim to none around here- unless I make it at home ;). This place gives me my fix and any cravings I have for Mexican food- satisfied. One thing about living up north is that margaritas are not frozen like in Texas, and this place offers them that way- which I LOVE!. Salsa is good, wish it was warm when they served it.
