It took a while to visit the former "Skippers", it seemed to be remodeling for years. Took a chance and stepped in to this cafe with our 3 generations of very particular women. We each enjoyed our meals. Staff was Friendly and efficient. Decor was fabulous; very cheery and decorated with seaside themed murals, lots of natural light. There seemed to be several regulars gathered at the bar; soft, cushy orange barstools would have encouraged me to stay too. Downside is it's a neighborhood on Route 1 where several people tend to gather in the parking lot with no seeming purpose. Somewhat intimidating especially when one approached us who seemed under the influence and literally planted himself in a way that my elderly mother couldn't close the car door right away. Absolutely don't let this isolated incident prevent you from trying, just be aware of your surroundings (like in any city) and owners take note to ask people outside to move along. read more

Food is incredibly authentic. Jacky the bartender is so nice and such a compliment to their incredible food. The Honduran food seems expensive until you get the plate and realize how big the portions are. I am addicted to their tamales and salsa verde. If you haven't been, you are missing out. They always have sports on the tv. Their music selection is very on brand. Ten out of ten stars. read more

Food is good, not amazing but pretty good. Not sure 3 smallish tacos are really worth $19 ($25 with tip) but they were good and came with decent sauce, refried beans and rice. I appreciate the free chips and salsa too. I just don't feel like basic Mexican tacos should cost more than fancy Chinese food. I wish them luck! read more

We visited this place since most of the reviews were positive. Now we wish we would have listened to the bad review! Pro: The food (except for the salsa) was really good. The service was average at best Cons: Our table wasn't 100% clean The salsa was really strange. It's possible it's a different type we've never had before. But we couldn't eat more than a couple bites of it. It was bland until we got to the bottom. Whatever settled to the bottom wasn't a flavor I'd identify as safe for human consumption. The employees and their buddies were playing really loud inappropriate music videos on the tv. The content would make the average adult blush. The "buddies" seemed to be familiar with the employees and were helping themselves to the bar and doing paperwork at their table in the middle of the little customers they had. If you are sensitive to loud music or have kids, steer clear of this place. I don't care how good the food is, we won't be back read more

ICH.... Dirty tables. Service was horrific. Waited 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged. Then another 10 minutes to even get a menu. I watched all tables, people had to get up and go get their own menus, then they wiped tables after people were seated. Food at best was just so...so.. They have been opened awhile, and should have their act together by now. We will never go back there. Don't bother. read more

My Husband and I got only one order to go of Camarones al patron to try it out and it was absolutely GREAT! The 12 shrimp were delicious and huge, the refried beans were great, the rice was wonderful and we mixed it with the pico gallo, the chips and sauce were Great too! Got take out. Food itself was very good including the salsa and chips provided with the meals. The amount of food we received for the price was quite small. Will more than likely never order take out again due to small servings. Maybe if we ate in the restaurant itself, the sizes and servings would be larger to justify the prices. Three of us visited for the first time on 7/21/23, and we all left full and happy. Carnitas dish was great and my companions enjoyed their tacos and burritos. The food was fresh and not overly salted like at some Mex restaurants. There were Honduran items on the menu that we intend to come back and sample. The cocktail menu was extensive, unique and intriguing. I do intend to come back and have one when I don't have to drive! The vibe was chill with Mex music playing and sports on the tv near the bar area. The owner came to greet us and was a perfect host. Our waitress had a good sense of humor and was on-the-spot/prompt. The tables were clean. This is a family-run restaurant and we intend to continue to support it as we love us some Mexican food once or twice per month. Had to try this new place on Rte 1 in Saco. Was not disappointed. Free chips and salsa to start. Big menu, lots to choose from. Got the fish tacos, comes with choice of black or refried beans and corn or flour tortillas and rice. Husband got chicken tacos, coming with same. Food was very fresh and delicious. Would definitely go back and try the whole menu out. Taco salad looked awesome too. Servers were attentive and checked up on us. Place was clean and bright. Also has a full bar with fun drinks. Service was inattentive though there were few of us in the whole place. We were seated right across from the video screen playing really sketchy music videos. I would not take a family there. And the music was head-banging loud and intrusive to trying to talk to one another. Our food came out literally one order at a time for the 4 of us, so two had their food sitting in front of them before we had ours. Uncomfortable and unprofessional. In fact, I would say the whole operation was unprofessional. I was really hoping to have another food option close by. Sadly, this was not it.
