We had ordered a *side* of onion rings and the server asked if we wanted them before our food because our toddlers were hungry. We agreed that would be great. The order came out 20 minutes after ordering. We then waited an additional 30 minutes to get our entrees. Our food did not reach the table until 6:55. I had to ask the other server who was running around doing the work of everyone to check on our food. At that point she was running everyone's food and checking tables while our server wandered around aimlessly. Upon delivering our food, our server looked at us and goes "why was there honey mustard with your order?" She forgot to put in the chicken tenders with our entree. She admitted to forgetting and said "they are dropping them right now." We had already been there for an hour and 15 minutes at this point and asked to pay and for boxes. Our Mac and cheese was cold and gelatinous and there was a single piece of chicken in the Caesar wrap. I looked at the check and realized she charged us for a full onion ring appetizer (it was a small side order). She also charged us for the forgotten chicken tenders and a second kids drink. My toddler said the orange juice tasted funny and it tasted rancid. I simply just asked for it to be replaced with lemonade. We were late for our evening plans and left quickly. Another patron came out to our car because my toddler left her pacifier and she said "I'm so sorry but your server refused to come outside to give this to you and I thought you'd need it." Absolutely abhorrent dining experience. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

The bartenders at these quieter times were on point - quick & responsive - one even decided to go braless with a see-through shirt for the old grey hair dudes at the bar on a relatively quiet night. Very classy & thoughtful. The ambience is that of a barn. Legit. This place is so run down that if it was a car, cops wouldn't even want to pull it over. It's definitely one of those places you go to get insufferably drunk and wake up in the morning with some new bugs living in/on your crotch, maybe even a big one in your bed - but that's half the fun(?) if you're into that sorta thing. Keeping in mind that it had been sitting for a while, it wasn't bad. The wing sauce didn't really stick to the meat, rather just puddled up in the basket, but if you rolled them around in the sauce, the flavor itself was good. The tacos were bigger and more filling than I ever thought they'd be. I'd get those again. The star of the show were the deep friend raspberry cheesecake chimis. SO GOOD! I've actually craved them to a point where I may go back to the bar just to eat those! LOL Other than the buzzer issue, we had a great time at Skip's that night. The chicken strips were OK, somehow a bit too processed for my preference. Fries unremarkable. The ambiance was nice, we had a fun time laughing on the side of the restaurant. I'd been coming here for at least 20 years, and in recent years it had been a favorite spot to eat outside when traveling with my dog. But now, we are not allowed to eat outside with a dog. Instead we had to order to-go and then walk down back to a 'dog area' which is a spot to the left of the building, below the parking area with one picnic table and some chairs in the woods. It was a beautiful sunny day, but we were getting eaten alive by no-seeums, which is not a nice experience when paying $100 for 1 meal with 6 scallops, 4 small pieces of fried fish, fries and slaw, an order of onion rings, a small clam chowder, and 2 beers. And $50 for a small lobster, an ear of corn, and an iced tea. I get that this is a tourist area, but $12 for a beer in a plastic cup and a $7.50 up charge for 6 scallops while being banished to a buggy spot that made eating very uncomfortable is a big no thank you for me. Crossing this place off my list, sadly. The upgrades and changes to this place are not a bonus at all. I'm sad that a place I always felt was friendly and welcoming is now overpriced and we all felt like we were being treated as second class citizens.
