We tried the sweet thai chili wings, Buxton Mac Tacos (same ingredients as a Big Mac) and the raspberry cheesecake chimis. We ordered at the bar and were given a buzzer. It took an exceptionally long time to get the food. When I went up to order a refill on by drink, the bartender said "Your food has been done". My buzzer never went off. We determined it had malfunctioned. I get that they are super busy back there, but for the amount of time that had passed, I would have expected someone to at least holler over to let us know we should come get our food, rather than let it sit there and get cold. Keeping in mind that it had been sitting for a while, it wasn't bad. The wing sauce didn't really stick to the meat, rather just puddled up in the basket, but if you rolled them around in the sauce, the flavor itself was good. The tacos were bigger and more filling than I ever thought they'd be. I'd get those again. The star of the show were the deep friend raspberry cheesecake chimis. SO GOOD! I've actually craved them to a point where I may go back to the bar just to eat those! LOL Other than the buzzer issue, we had a great time at Skip's that night. There was a band playing and still no cover charge was paid at the door. We had a fun night of food, drinks, and dancing. I'd definitely return.

I've been here a couple of times now, and the food and service have never disappointed. Today, the Cubano was juicy and flavorful, and the house fries are seasoned in a bistro rub that's salty and smoky, golden fried to perfection with a crunchy shell and a soft, pillowy center. This is elevated pub fare at its finest, with good portions, fair pricing and a great atmosphere in a restaurant that straddles the middle ground between the coastal towns around Portland and the start of the lakes region in Windham. This place is especially magical in the summer, when the greenery is back and the weather is consistently nice, but I expect it will get busier and busier at peak season, especially as word gets out... and why wouldn't it? Who doesn't want to grab a bite and a drink while soaking up the light reflecting off a lazy river ? The good news is, they are taking reservations, so you can always call ahead to lock in a table on the weekends. Aside from the riverside back deck, they have a full bar with seating, inside tables, and another outdoor patio area in the front along Main Street (aka River Road). Red City Ale House hits the mark for all occasions... I feel perfectly welcome and accommodated coming in to dine solo, I could easily see this being a casual date-night destination, and I could also see it accommodating families or larger groups. Whatever your occasion, RCAH is a road trip worthy destination.

She was friendly when taking our order, but when she dropped off our food, she immediately left. She didn't ask if we needed anything, or nicely tell us to enjoy our meal. It was Blues Jam on Sunday and an older crowd of locals. Great music from several bands each playing a set. The waitstaff was friendly and helpful with drink orders and food choices. If you like cider, go for the Downeast Cider on draft - delicious and not overly sweet. Special on Sunday of $9 Bud Light pitchers. We mainly came in for lunch more so than for drinks. Another Sunday special is $.95 apiece wings. We got 8 extra crispy with the sweet chili sauce. Highly recommend! Main entree was a cheeseburger with grilled onions, mushrooms, and peppers with side of onion rings, and hubby had a Reuben with sweet potato fries. The burger was small but really good. Onion rings were crispy and not greasy. The Reuben was crisp on outside with good flavor. Although the portions weren't huge, you couldn't beat the price at $9.95 per meal. Everything is made to order by Ron in the back. If you are in a hurry for your meal and not planning to sit around and drink for the afternoon, just tell your waitress and I'm sure things will come out faster for you. Would come back again!
