    Fried oyster mushroom tacos

Tried lunch on a snowy Saturday. Got seated right away and our waiter approached quickly. He definitely was looking for us to order drinks and when we didn't his interest quickly waned. We need a minute with the menu and decided to try a special ( chicken empanada), a brisket and chili cheeseburger and queso with tortilla chips. The burger was delicious, juicy and loaded with flavor. I liked the high top and appreciated not having people on top of us. It was also not loud, easy to have a conversation. Everything was quite good but the server was pretty uninterested and seemed to be in a rush. He never came to the table after our food came out. I find that annoying as we had head good things about the place. We'd go back for the food but not for the service. 4 stars for good...for service I would give 2.

Food is amazing. You can smell the BBQ around the whole block. Servers are friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. Great place to sit outside on a nice day or inside if you want. Top tier tequila available and seasonal fun drinks. This is a place you should not miss

Delicious food and friendly staff! Terilingua serves Texas-style barbecue with a Mexican twist. They are known for their house-smoked meats and variety of sauces. Their decor is between modern and homestyle. Many warm colors. Mom and I ordered off their happy hour menu. Staff was friendly and answered all of our questions. I ordered the Enchiladas. The enchiladas had chicken, chihuahua cheese, red chile sauce, crema & cilantro. The chicken was tender and I love that it had a little spicy kick to it! My mom ordered 2 sliders: pork and brisket. My mom never had sliders but she loved the presentation of them. Both meats were very tender. For happy hour options, they were both very filling.

Had a delicious birthday dinner here back in September where I devoured the fish tacos! The atmosphere was so fun, and sitting outside felt a little magical too. Would recommend!

You wouldn't expect to find BBQ this good in Portland, but the reviews don't lie--this place lives up to the hype. We ordered a mix of grilled meats--brisket, pulled pork, and more--and everything was incredibly tender and juicy. You barely needed a knife. There were a few different sauces to choose from, all full of flavor and perfect for dipping. The side salad was actually impressive too--not just a pile of lettuce, but packed with fresh, Mexican-inspired ingredients. We also tried the ceviche, which was super fresh and bright, served with crisp house-made chips. Portion was a little small, but definitely worth it for the quality. The outdoor patio is beautiful and gives you the feeling of being somewhere in Latin America. It's dog-friendly, the staff is warm and welcoming, and they seem to be known for their tacos too--definitely coming back to try those next time.

I've had this place bookmarked for a while and my brother recently read about it, we're here for the month so we decided to finally try it out. Holy macaroni, it was DELICIOUS!! We all loved our meals. We got the queso to start with. We couldn't stop eating it. My Dad and I got the Smoked Pork Carnitas Tacos and my brother a platter with brisket, pork, sausage, salad, pickled onions, pickles and corn bread. Since it was our first time there we ordered three sides, the mac & cheese, street corn succotash & papas bravas. We couldn't stop how delicious it all was while we were eating. I also got a side of guac, which was delish and margaritas, which were tasty. We didn't have reservations so we were sat at a high top on the right side of the restaurant. The bathroom is on the left side of the restaurant, I'm glad I had to go because that area looks super cute! I'd like to eat in there next time. There's a bar in that area. I would 1000% recommend this place.

These are the best tacos. We took them to go so didn't get a chance to experience the ambiance or service really. It did take a long time for our tacos - once ordered it took about 40 minutes. We sat at the gin distillery across the street (I highly recommend their gin - Hardshore Gin https://www.hardshoredistilling.com/) BUT even though we had to wait a long time the tacos were the best. I would get every single kind to try - amazing flavor and quality. I ate mine so quick I forgot to take a pic. oops Went back next day and took a pic. Soooo good. Go!!

A fun birthday gathering at Terlingua. Everyone was thrilled with their dinners. The Saddle Up BBQ Board was a huge hit and for us non-meat eaters, the succotash was delicious, as always. The servers were wonderful and made up for not being outside. My only complaint is the noise in the "Market". Would have preferred the dining room.

We sat in the "corral" area. The ambiance is superb, you'd never know what's tucked away in this restaurant until you visit. The food is delish! We also got chips and guacamole and deviled eggs to share and the deviled eggs were topped with duck breast - delicious. Margaritas were great, service was quick!

Order the: deviled eggs, mac and cheese, any of their drinks (especially the margaritas) and the tuna crudo. The guac, queso, and salsa aren't a bad way to start your meal, either. Modern Tex-Mex BBQ in a fantastic neighborhood, with great service, wonderful food, and an even better ambience (think: like, 10 types of patios). Arrive early or make a reservation, because they're beyond busy!

When you think of Portland, ME, you don't usually think of excellent BBQ or Mexican food. But also only in Portland can you find unique and quality Tex-Mex food along with great hospitality! We went during the cold season so didn't get a chance to check out their patio, though I do believe parts of it were still open and covered. I would definitely recommend making a reservation if you can, it was quite busy when went. The chip basket got free refills, which was a huge hit with our little one. The chips themselves were thinly sliced, crisp, well-seasoned, and not greasy - aka perfect! I got the small dinner board, which was anything but small. It came with 1lb of that day's meats, which included 2 pork ribs, pulled pork, 2 wings, and a giant slice of brisket, along with corn bread, house-made pickles, and a side of potato salad. The potato salad wasn't too mayo-heavy and had a nice vinegar tang to it. The corn bread was moist and buttery. The brisket was my favorite thing on the board - so fall-apart tender. The service was friendly and attentive, and all the food came out in a timely manner. I can't wait to come back!

I have been wanting to try Terlingua for YEARS now and finally did it last night. It did not disappoint! First off, there are many spaces to choose from when you book a reservation. There was nothing left in the dining room so we chose an enclosed outdoor space. It was a warm night, so figured being outside with a plastic enclosure would not be that bad. We were correct. There were propane heaters throughout the space, but none of them were on where it was a warm evening. Maybe dead of winter wouldn't really work out there, but for milder temperatures, it was a great option to the dining room. Our waitress was friendly and helpful in drink and meal selections. My husband and I had the large meat board. This is definitely enough food for at least three people. The meats on the board are the choices for the evening which in our case were. Smoked prime brisket, pork belly burnt ends, garlic sausage, and pork shoulder. **know that they make a certain amount of meat for the evening and when that is out, it is out! We eat a lot of barbecue in my family. This had to be the best barbecue I've eaten without being in TX. The meal came with the house side, which was a yummy coleslaw. It is also was accompanied by four big hunks of honey butter cornbread, pickled vegetables, and pickles, and two wonderful sauces - the house made barbecue, and a great mustard sauce that went beautifully with the sausage and the Brisket. You can get additional sides, but we figured this was going to be enough food, and it was, with leftovers to spare. The drink I had was an apple cider-based cocktail. It was very refreshing and perfect for the fall season. I felt the price of the mail was reasonable for the quantity of food given. Especially in Portland where the prices go up and the meal sizes go down. Parking is street parking which can be a bit of a pain. All in all, we will definitely be back!

Ambiance/atmosphere: really nice and quite inside. The place wasn't too big, but not small enough you couldn't find a secluded spot if you wanted to. Very well seasoned filet with crispy and fluffy soft potatoes with rice and really good pickles pink onions. I added quac and cheese onto it after mixing things together and when I ordered an extra side of steak they really hooked me up. So delicious. My dad ordered the patacon which has a very large and perfectly friend piece of savory plantain and topped with chicken and added steak with quac, lettuce, tomato, and a side of rice and black beans. For starters we ordered the yuca which was perfectly fried and crispy with a really good garlic aioli and cheese blanket over top. We also ordered the sweet madudo(sweet plantain) which came with cheese and was perfectly sweet and tender. So delicious. The side of tostones(savory plantain) was again perfectly friend and salted and with that garlic aioli dip and quac with pico de gallo it was fantastic. The empanadas came with all types of flavors. The beef was my favorite and had an amazing juicy, salty, and tangy flavor with the crispy casing. I'll say to skip the chicken, it was bland and had no flavor. My mom ordered the dessert empanada with cheese and a fruit inside and she said it was delicious and I'll say I can second that. The smoothies were delicious and had plenty of options to choose from. My mom ordered a Columbian milk coffee and said it was one of the greater ones she's tried, possible the best.

I could've done without the lettuce in the burrito, and I did remove 1 star because it was falling apart when I got home and I ended up having to use my own (store bought) tortilla, which was disappointing after paying $17 for a burrito. I have heard great things and was really hoping they had pupusas available on the truck... but no such luck. Only tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. That's ok because the very kind gentleman on the truck made the 3 Amigos sound really good! It's one pork, one beef, and one chicken taco on homemade tortillas with the standard fixings - onion, cilantro, guac, and salsa. I will say that the homemade tortillas are very good, though different than most I've had. They are soft to the point of almost being creamy? Very very rich, reminded me of the base of a sope. The meats were absolutely delicious and grilled and full of flavor. I loved both the pork and the beef, though the fattiness could've used an extra lime or two. I took one bite of the chicken taco and got a couple little bones, so I didn't eat the rest of that one. The sauces were good, though I was told one of the sauces was VERY VERY hot and I didn't detect a lot of spiciness from it. I think overall, I could've used double garnish, double lime, and a lot of extra heat. There are no prices on the board so I was thinking three tacos would come to like $10 - $12. Turns out they are $20 before tax, holy moley. I admit that my expectations were high before I even took a bite, because that price point is a little crazy. I am super curious about the brick and mortar because I'm sure it's a different experience with the food truck. These tacos were definitely tasty enough to do some more research!
