Great experience! Food was delicious, staff was friendly and quick and it's a casual atmosphere which is perfect for us. Also, plenty of parking. We have only been to the location twice since it opened, however each time we were 100% happy with the experience. The first visit was the first Sunday-Take Out Only weekend. I tried to call in for an hour and kept getting a busy signal, given we were on the road and about to drive by we stopped and and despite them being absolutely slammed with orders and the phone off the hook, we were greeted with friendly welcoming smiles and Dale was so kind and chuckled when I showed him my call log with the many attempts at trying to place a phone order. We were able to place our order in person and it was ready in under an hour. The Sunday Special- bolognese pizza was so delicious! The crust was perfectly cooked, on the thinner side, with a bit of a crisp to it and a pleasant chew. It's my favorite type of crust, it's so addictive and easy to eat. The toppings/sauce perfectly placed, not too much and not too little. It was just right for this type of crust. We ordered a mango lemon tart which was the perfect ending to this pizza meal. Bright fresh fruit flavors and a delicious pastry crust. The second visit, we were able to successfully call in our order and Dale took our order and remembered me from our last visit :) I ordered a pepperoni and bell pepper pizza. It was so simple and perfect! Exactly what we had hoped for. Once again, the pizza crust was expertly baked. So good!!!! This time, we were able to get a piece of the lemon blueberry cake for dessert. It was huge! It was 3 layers and lemony and blueberry heaven! That frosting! That cake! Wow so good! I have had wedding cakes that were this delicious. I hope they have it again in the future. This is definitely one of our top 5 favorite pizza places in Maine now. I'm so glad they are within driving distance! Thank you to the Rise Team for bringing great pizza and service to Cumberland! Please don't ever leave! :)

Really good pizza! New place that has taken over Louie's restaurant. Limited menu options on Sundays and Tuesdays (or Wednesdays I forget). I hope to see this place thrive!

I have to say it's a hidden gem to Cumberland. Their pizza was absolutely amazing. Handmade peperoni and the crust and cheese blend were amazing. I didn't get a pic of their peanut butter pie was outstanding. Would highly recommend this for a family night out or a dinner date... The staff were fast and friendly. I would go back again in a heart beat..

Pizza was just so-so. Service was perfunctory. Ambiance was good. I will give it another try, though, as we went soon after they opened.

It is a quaint and small and unsassuming place that packs 'em in tight but the great thing is that I was able to book a reservation ahead of time for a Friday night and we were able to be seated right away and our adventure begins. There were many vegan options for my better half and she also got a non alcoholic margarita that she enjoyed tremendously. I got three different styles of tacos and appetizers and they were divine ... (Pork Belly, Carnitas, Fried fish taco) The ambiance and the energy of the place was fantastic with the server being very good at what he did. We will definitely be back!

Bird & Co is the best Mexican spot in Portland…read more I'm not saying it's the most authentic, I'm not saying it's perfect, I'm not saying their cocktail program is going to change your life, but... 1. They take reservations (including for brunch on the weekends) and it's super easy to do online. How many places in this city are doing this? The answer is: still not many. 2. Their menu is clearly labeled with what's vegan and vegetarian. No guessing here, and the staff has always been quick to double-check with the kitchen if there are any questions or concerns. Segue... 3. The chips and guacamole for currently $10 are the same quantity of (and I mean this lovingly) overly salted, house fried - sometimes too fried - chips and a tiny scoop of good guac as most places in town that are CHARGING YOU MORE. Segue... 4. There are places in town now charging $8 to $10 for ONE TACO. And they're sometimes quite small. The tacos here average between $4.75 and $6.50 for creative, flavorful, interesting, filling options (also you can get them on either flour or corn, no upcharge). The menu changes from time to time, and I wish they'd bring back the fried yuca taco, but the solid vegan solid options right now are Adobo Sweet Potato, Fried Plantain, and Crispy Tofu. Segue... 5. The taquitos, brussel sprouts, and cheesecake are all vegan. Segue... 6. The brunch (10am to 2pm, Saturday and Sundays) options for vegans are probably the most impressive in town: tofu or chorizo or fresh avocado tacos, huevos rancheros, churro french toast, avocado toast, chimichangas. 7. The Mexican cold brew might change your life (... or at least make you really happy when you're playing hooky from work and having an 11am drink). Switch the tequila for house whisky, skip the vespertino, ask for a side of oat milk... no changes to the price when doing this, by the way, because they're THAT kind of place that isn't trying to punish you constantly with extra fees. 8. The staff is so accommodating, they're thoughtful, they check-in just the right amount. Sure, I've had a few bad experiences here, but overall... sit at the bar, make a friend, and just ask/just talk to them if you're missing something/need something etc. 9. The atmosphere here is Portland right before it became too cool (IYKYK). It's casual and relaxed, it can be intimate and loud when it's busy, it feels quite trendy yet still approachable when they've got their newly updated outside area set-up. 10. It's off peninsula which also changes the demographic and vibe entiiiiiiiiiirely. For the good. 6/5 no notes.

2/20/26 Why venture into a place with so many poor reviews?…read moreWhy take that risk? A taste for Adventure I would say. The need to confirm, or to set the record straight. So, here goes: Abbie, the waitress , was sweet, all smiles, welcoming, anxious to please. The place is on a main street with easy parking, is clean, sparkling, inviting. But I was the only patron... One has a choice of salsas- I had the corn- mild, a mix of flavors, very good. I had a small wings- Buffalo sauce- with blue cheese dip- I have honestly never tasted better. Astounding. The enchiladas were beef with chili con queso- Too rich. Couldn't finish them. In sum- a pleasant surprise considering the preceding negative reviews- I will stop again next time through.

We decided to check it out for weekend brunch. We were the only ones there, which surprised us, because the space itself is adorable and beautifully done. I ordered the breakfast tacos, and my husband had the breakfast burrito--both were incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. We left thinking... okay, maybe that was just a fluke. Fast forward a few days later, and we went back for lunch--still puzzled by all the terrible reviews after such a great brunch experience. We started with the nachos, and once again--amazing. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. We had planned on ordering more, but the nachos were more than enough for two (honestly, probably three). We're already excited to go back and keep trying more items on the menu. Our server, Katie, was exceptional. She was warm, attentive, and incredibly helpful when explaining the menu and drink options. Her service really elevated the experience. All in all, we're genuinely confused by the negative reviews. Maybe things were different early on and they had to work out the kinks, or maybe expectations of Mexican food vary (you know what I'm talking about, those "chain" restaurants where everything tastes like it just came out of a can from Sysco) more than we realize. What we can say is that every visit we've had has been excellent, and we'll definitely continue supporting this spot.

Almost everything was incredibly sweet. The BBQ sauce tasted like straight liquid candy, and even the slaw was sweet. After a few bites the whole meal just felt kind of cloying. The prices also didn't match what you actually get. Around $30 for a brisket plate and it was basically four strips of brisket. Portions felt really small for the cost. On top of that, sauces cost extra, which felt a little ridiculous given the price point. Another thing that stood out: the "chips" were literally just Tostitos out of a bag. Not even house-made tortilla chips. For a place trying to have this unique, elevated vibe, that felt pretty lazy. I ordered a brisket burrito and it came out open-faced instead of wrapped like a burrito, which was confusing and messy to eat. Service itself was fine -- nothing bad to say there -- but the overall vibe of the place was kind of strange. It felt very "aggressively millennial," like it was trying really hard to be quirky and different instead of just focusing on making good food. Overall it just wasn't a great experience. Overly sweet food, small portions for the price, and a concept that feels like it's trying too hard. Mac and cheese was awful. Like straight up terrible. Like cracking an entire grinder worth of black pepper into it. The owner then insults me and is sarcastic without actually doing anything about my criticisms

We were there on a Tuesday around 11:45 and stayed until around 1:30/2pm - There was a steady stream of people getting take out and the dinning aread was 3/4 full the entire time. It seems to be a very popular place. The menu is pretty easy to read on the wall to your right as you walk in. it's pretty easy - you can choose a option from the wall and you can customize your burrito, quesadilla, nachos etc further when you get to the counter. I have never been to a chipotle, so I can't compare it. I love the fact that it's locally owned. For those that do not like cilantro - it's only in two things..one of the rice options and the pico...other than that you are safe. For those that love cilantro, you can ask for extra. I had the supreme nachos with pork and nacho cheese, jalapenos, black beans and lettuce....SOOOOOO GOOOD!!!! and very very filling.
