Three tacos and margarita
John L.

We came to the Salsa Grill for an early evening meal and enjoyed a delightful meal with drinks and the lovely outside dining. They now have full sit down service with friendly and attentive staff. The drinks and food came very quickly and the servings were very satisfying and tasty ( they now serve three tacos for the $14.00 entree). Having read a few less stellar early reviews we were eager to try it ourselves and were not disappointed. I think everything has improved over the first months suggesting that they are getting settled in and are responsive to peoples recommendations. I would strongly recommend this for people who are looking for a friendly, efficient and tasty Mexican meal in a wonderful location. So glad to have this addition to our community.

I had the falafel bowl and it was really good! Very unique menu. But I was happy with my take out order!

But what you eat is delicious! My husband and I shared the Fish and Chips entree, the Lamb Shepherd's Pie and a side order of Cauliflower au gratin. All so good, every morsel was perfect. Also a nice selection of wines. Come for the food, not the atmosphere, although to be fair there is a small outdoor dining area which might have felt roomier, but with exhaust from passing cars. Service was very friendly and attentive.

I love the fact we could make and change our reservation via Open Table, which removes the uncertainty. I saw that it was recommended as well. I'm glad we did, because while it may not look busy, the restaurant fills quickly once all of the reservation parties arrive. The good news, is they have a decent sized bar, so if you are by yourself, you can find a seat typically around dinner during the week. We were politely greeted when we arrive and brought to your table, once side was wooden bench seating and the other was a chair option. It was comfortable. There wasn't a TON of space in between tables, especially if they are moving tables around to accommodate larger parties. Squeezing in between can get kind of awkard, especially in the winter with jackets. My recommendation make sure your plates and glasses are as far from the edge of the table as you can make them. one of our plates, was bumped/nudged by a butt as a person at the next table got up to leave. Luckily, the food wasn't touched. Food and drink were delicious! I love the fact they have creative non-alcohol options - so spritzy and delicious. I look forward to returning when I'm not driving to try their drinks with spirits. They are very creative with their concoctions. I had the scotch egg to start - so good, I made my friend try a bite, since she had never had one. Savory, i loved the mustard they served with it as well. Yolk was perfectly how I like it. My friend got the fried jumbo shrimp! HOLY JUMBO !!! She enjoyed them and had plenty of leftovers to bring home. I had the fish and chips...They should also use Jumbo in the description. I don't think i have ever had a piece of fish so large in a fish and chips dish. I ate about 1/3 of it and half of my fries and had to take the rest home. It was crispy and delicious and the leftovers will tasted great. The environment was cozy and because of that, it can get VERY LOUD - small space with a lot of conversations. My apple watch went off a few times with a decibel warning. Our server was prompt, helpful and accurate. Parking is parallel street parking if you don't want to pay. We were able to easily find parking on a Wed night for a 6pm reservation. I look forward to returning to try other dishes...Next time, I will be sure to save room for dessert!

We tried the eggs Benedict and the breakfast sandwich, both with modifications, and both were excellent! The breakfast sandwich on brioche (instead of English muffin) and added spicy candied bacon for an extra charge. The bacon was so tasty...it added so many layers of flavor to the sandwich. Highly recommend! The eggs Benedict was great too...we got it without the broccolini, the sausage was homemade and tasted very savory, and the hollandaise was rich and creamy. The service was great. Hot coffee kept coming around, the food came out fast. We also tried the fried zucchini sticks which were very lightly breaded and fried perfectly, they were still a tiny bit crunchy, and the batter was very crispy. The dipping sauce was a goat cheese aioli which was a perfect pairing for the zucchini. I would order this again. We also got a pepperoni pizza to go pizza to go since their was a patriots game today. My husband and daughter loved it. They said it was a little garlicky, but delicious!

The bread and butter was divine, the burrata... superb. We were hesitant on what to get for dinner and decided on the Caesar salad with steak (cop out entree choice, which I can acknowledge). We got four little pieces of steak, were not asked about the temp of our steak, and the salad was something you could buy at a store. I am aware that a Caesar salad is by no means a complex choice, but you would figure with the local and better than chain style vibes, the Caesar would give at least those large chunks of Parmesan. The menu said "anchovies, sourdough croutons, Parmesan". There were no anchovies, the dressing tasted watered down or barely there (the dressing is everything in an "upscale" Caesar salad imo) and the Parmesan was small, and gave no flavor. I would 100% go here again, although I was not satisfied with my entree. Every other meal that went past us was divine looking, and I think unfortunately the flaw in this restaurant is their Caesar salad, but everything else made it so worth it!

Beyond impressed! This place is BEAUTIFUL and I don't know how they did it, but it doesn't have that smell anymore. And anyone that has been there in the past knows exactly what I'm talking about. Kinda like your grandmother's basement after a flood from 15 years ago that no one probably cleaned up. Yeah you know the smell. The short ribs were gorgeous, the reduction was perfect and the wild mushroom au gratin was heavenly. NY strip was perfectly tender, seasoned well and cooked to perfection. I'm never surprised anymore when a restaurant forgets what "medium" actually is. Sadly, I'm at the point where I'm surprised when they get it right. Pleasantly, but still surprised. This place, definitely gets my vote when I go to Freeport to spoil myself. If you haven't gone here yet, you're doing it wrong.

I did not see a ramp in plain sight, but I did not walk around looking for one, either. There are sporadic areas of seating with different types of tables/coffee tables to use to eat. You order at the counter and they will bring it to you wherever you are sitting. Everything is packaged as takeout whether you are eating there or not. It wasn't too convenient for the nachos as you're constantly guarded that the toppings will spill out, but it worked out well for the burritos and quesadilla. The burritos are HUGE and tough to finish. The nachos were ok. The quesadilla was good. They have sporadic hours so have a back-up plan if they are closed.

His response was "well, then you can wait outside; you're in customers way." There was no one else there but myself. It was completely empty. He then proceeded to stare me down until I left. The only reason I waited was because my friend talked up this place like it was the best burrito he's ever had. Again, it was just okay. The issue isn't the burrito, it's the terrible service. Do not recommend in the slightest. Edit: The owner decided to reply with an attack, which just proving my point. The owner is rude and clearly can't handle when someone calls him out on it.
