I received some great recommendations from both and had a lovely conversation with Bobby . Really felt like a valued customer . While this is a place to go for a special event it's worth every penny spent !!! The food and drinks were nothing but spectacular! Nigel's is the CUTEST restaurant in Long Beach!! This is only the second Saturday of opening, and they're already bustling with all the buzz on the socials. The place is sprawling with Miami-inspired decor, pink booths, green walls, and gold accents. Every detail was well thought out, even the gold swan faucets in the bathroom! The booths hug the canal where people can take Duffy cruises from same owners' Anchors Away business next door. Free 20-minute Duffy rides if you dine there for lunch or dinner on Wednesdays and Thursdays! My friend made reservations on Open Table, and the host seated us as soon as we arrived. There are two entrances on each side, so that should help with efficiently seating guests. The cocktail menu is more creative than the food menu, but every dish we got was really good. Sippin Pretty ($18) Empress Gin, Italicus, Fresh Lemon Juice, Cane Syrup - a bit on the sweet side, but was lovely in the vintage glass on a hot day. We also got a bottle of Hampton Water Bubbly Rosé for $56, which was kept chilled in a gold bucket. They accidentally charged me for two bottles on the bill, but they fixed it as soon as I noticed and let them know. Fried & Fancy Calamari ($20) - lightly breaded and drizzled with a sweet chili sauce and roasted garlic aioli. Not bad, but nothing out of the ordinary. Grand Ahi Tuna Salad ($22) - about 4 decent pieces of seared ahi, avocado and a fresh mix of greens with snap peas, carrots and radishes for crunch. The miso-ginger vinaigrette was delish. Luxe Lobster Roll ($35) - Court-Bouillon poached lobster (pieces seemed more like langostino), but there was a generous amount! The New England Roll was buttery, toasted and soft. I appreciated the celery, lettuce and green onions for veggies and texture. The fries were mid. Nigel came around and genuinely greeted each table. He shared that this was 3 years in the making and how he had his wife were inspired after visiting Miami. After some chit chat, he moved on to the next table. I read some negative reviews about how the staff treated people of color badly, but I didn't get that sense at all today. We ordered charcuterie boards, calamari, Caesar salads, asparagus fries, deviled eggs, chicken piccata, admiral's salmon, truffled mushroom risotto, petit trio plate, fried chicken sandwich, luxe lobster roll, butter cake. All great dishes. For drinks: dirty little secret, sippin pretty, Lily's spritz. Of everything ordered, the only thing I wasn't crazy about was the calamari (it wasn't crispy) and the asparagus fries. Everyone else enjoyed them and they all said their food was flavorful. Reservations were difficult as the Saturday availability was completely pulled from Opentable and it is difficult to get a live person on the phone. Finally got Leah on the phone and setup reservation with her. We reserved a cabana, which has a $500 spend minimum with an added 20% gratuity. For a party of 8, with drinks, all of the appetizers, and entrees for everyone, it pans out perfectly. Price point is very affordable. Our server Alexia was great! Con: champagne wall was out of service :( and Nigel didn't visit our cabana despite making table visits in his pink suit jacket. Also, didn't love that our cabana was directly in front of the check in booth. Must like pink! Nigel's is a newish waterfront restaurant in the Marina Pacifica mall. Friends and I stopped in for a late lunch, which was still Saturday Brunch menu time. My male friend commented that he wouldn't stop in here on his own, due to the predominantly female clientele. It seems, from our experience, that Nigel's is the hot spot for wedding/Baby showers and girlfriend birthday celebrations. The cocktails are interesting and tasty. Priced in the $12-18 range. The brunch menu seemed very high in carbohydrate options....I finally settled on the Lobster Benedict. This was good, although I think I would have preferred an English Muffin to the Brioche bread. There were two poached eggs with a nice amount of lobster meat. It was served with a side of roasted potatoes. For the most part, service was good. A little slow at getting our bill settled. The waterfront location is very nice. I did think the music was a bit loud for table conversations. I recommend making a reservation , as they were pretty busy on this beautiful Saturday afternoon. I made reservations for my sister's big 50th birthday. There was a little hiccup with the reservations timing being changed the day before, but I was able to contact the owner and she corrected the time and she was and with no expectation she was kind enough to accommodate us with a cabana , Which was very appreciated! I decided to go on a Wednesday night to catch up with friends and we were amused. We tried the Anchor's Tuna Tartare and Fried Deviled Eggs for starters. Both were great appetizers, though the Tartare was exceptionally fresh! For my entree, I enjoyed The Admiral's Salmon! The blood orange sauce amongst mashed potatoes, sugar-snap peas and spinach was so flavorful! I took a bite of the Chicken Piccata and was pleasantly surprised. We shared the Nigel's Butter Cake and I highly recommend. Topped with fresh berries and vanilla ice cream, it is decadently moist with a nice crispy edge. Though I adore the aesthetic and warm staff, I will say some seating options should be solely reserved for drinks and small bites. With comfy couch-like seating in many areas, the table heights mirror that of coffee tables. This was a bit of a disappointment. After the first person was taken cared of by the male receptionist, my husband was just standing there and the 2 ladies didn't even talk to him and he's basically right in front of them. After a while, I went closer to find out what's going on. My husband really thought we had to wait for the male receptionist and eventually asking the 2 ladies there if that was the receiving area and they finally helped us to our seat. We ordered: Chicken Piccata - 5/5 Lobster roll - 4/5 large portion of lobster meat but it was served cold. This includes fries. Calamari - 5/5 the sauce was already mixed in. It was actually already very good but our daughter didn't like it. We humbly asked our server Kim to change it and just cook it with sauce on the side and they did it for us with no additional cost. What a great time!!!!!! Even Nigel walked around and chatted with every table (at first, I was like, "oh no is he gonna be some cheesy schmooze guy?" but I liked him so much. Our table got: Chicken and waffles (x2) Veggie scramble French toast I believe the chicken and waffles was the fave as we shared amongst ourselves. It had bacon bits in the waffles and the syrup elevated. They gave us a cupcake with a sparkler for the bday boy which was a nice touch. With 2 bottles of wine, tax and tip it was $300 for four of us. So not a cheap brunch but the 2 bottles of wine was more than half of the bill. I say it's worth it though bc while it felt like a Hollywood-type place with the glamour and the Instagram-friendly setups, the crowd was definitely NOT Hollywood or trashy. Definitely a fun, Long Beach crowd (diverse and not super young) with a lot of other tables celebrating birthdays. I believe the price point keeps the flies out. Not too many food options and portions aren't that large. They also aren't consistent - my sister's scramble had about double the potatoes than mine. People come here for the ambiance however, it is so pink! Everyone was dressed in pink and there were a few birthday parties being celebrated too! Breathtaking views, gorgeous ambiance, service was immaculate, cocktails were amazing, and the food was out of this world. Picture worthy in every corner, perfect for all pink lovers. Came here last week for lunch and dinner. Kaitlyn was our server for lunch, she was amazing and provided suggestions for cocktails and food. We ordered the Leah's spritz, seaside crispy asparagus fries, cheeseburger with pomme frites, lobster roll with chopped salad, and the warm butter cake. Everything was so delicious, I had to come back and try their dinner the next day. Sabrina was our server for dinner, and she was also fantastic. I had the mini mule and my friend ordered the lily's spritz for our cocktails. We shared everything and had the flamingo beet hummus, seafarer's seared seabass, and chicken picatta. We ordered the warm butter cake again since we were celebrating my friend's birthday. I definitely want to try the chocolate cake and creme brûlée next time. He visited every table and warmly thanked us for visiting. He offered us a free boat ride after our lunch but we didn't have time for that this time. THE FOOD was outstanding. The sea bass and risotto I was so disappointed. It was not good at all, very bland & it messed my stomach up the next morning. The butter cake was absolutely phenomenal. I fell victim to the Instagram hype. Posts on this restaurant flooded my IG feed, making me excited to try this place out. All promised a magical, wicked time flowing with delicious food and tasty cocktails. Sadly, it did not live up to influencers' pressure. Let's start off with the positives: 1. This place is gorgeously decorated. Very whimsical vibe with romantic, playful pink hues. It's definitely an idyllic place for a fun, flirty lunch. 2. The location is prime. The restaurant is nestled unbecomingly in a shopping center but once you step foot within the space, it's located right off the water. The views are beautiful. Ask for a table along the water. You will enjoy your meal while watching boats drive by. 3. Parking is surprisingly abundant. In an area like the LB shore, you wouldn't expect to find a restaurant that has ample parking. There is lots of parking on the main parking level of the shipping center and there is a separate driveway that leads to covered parking designated for the restaurant. Now on to the negatives: 1. The food was very underwhelming and poorly unseasoned. Our group ordered: - calamari- batter was thick and heavy. It looked more like cheese puffs than fried calamari - pomme frittes- this was ok, nothing special - fried deviled eggs- gimmickly made pink - asparagus fries- this was my favorite dish of the meal. Crispy batter with a slightly crispy asparagus spear and garlic aioli sauce. - wild mushroom melt with the side of the chopped salad- the bread was dry, barely any cheese to constitute it being a melt. The salad was flat and lacked depth - chicken sandwich- bread to chicken ratio was too much. The thin slice of fried chicken was unseasoned and the meal needed more sauce. -chicken piccata with pasta- the chicken was very under seasoned and I think they were expecting the capers to carry the dish - lobster roll- although there was a good amount of lobster in the roll, the sandwich portion was tiny for the price. It desperately needed more citrus/lemon juice and seasoning Salmon- the blood orange sauce saved the dish -Cheeseburger- again, burger bun to meat ratio was the same as the chicken sandwich - Trio plate- the 4oz steak looked smaller than the advertised size and the soup dominated the portion on that plate - Mac n cheese- dryer than I would prefer 2. Service was lacking. Maybe it was due to the holiday season, maybe it was because it was the weekend crowd. But customers shouldn't have to ask multiple times and wait long periods for serving sets in order to eat their meals. Nor should their cups run dry of water for half of the meal while waiting for the server to check in on them. 3. Add on charges and fees. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and we brought in a small cake. The restaurant charges $4.50/per person for a cake cutting fee, regardless of whether they cut it for you or not. So, just for having a cake on the table, that fee will be assessed. If you are looking for ambience over substance, Nigel's might hit that spot for you. But I wouldn't go here expecting a memorable culinary experience. read more

Wow! I have to admit, after seeing the amazing pictures I kind of assumed the experience couldn't be that good. I was so happy to be proved wrong! The food was excellent. We ordered the ahi tuna salad and the lobster eggs Benedict. We also had a several drinks, the cosmopolitan, a pineapple mimosa, and the sangria. They were all delicious and SO beautiful. The service was wonderful. I drink a lot of water, especially when I'm eating, so I often judge the service by how full my water glass stays, and the server offered when the glass was only half empty. I have zero complaints and will definitely be back with more girlfriends!! Men may be put off by the amount of pink (which can I just say again how much I LOVE the vibe here) but tbh I kind of love that there's a place just for women to celebrate or hang out. Picked Nigel's to celebrate my sister's birthday and everything was amazing! When you arrive, it is a little confusing on how to get there, but I recommend going into the parking garage to park and experience the full entrance from there. Pink is my favorite color so this place was perfect. It is decorated for Christmas right now also with pink Christmas trees to keep with the theme! We walked in to the host stand and of course had to take pics along the entry way to the host stand! We were sat right away and there was a heater there so it kept the temperature very comfortable. Adeli came over and greeted us right away and took our drink order. She asked if we were celebrating anything special so we let her know it was my sister's birthday. When she brought the drinks over, we ordered appetizers and then Adeli gave us the specials that are not on the menu. One of the appetizer specials was the spinach and artichoke dip, which we ordered and we ordered the fried deviled eggs off the menu. Those plates were clean when the food runner came to remove them. I could have ordered another order of the spinach and artichoke dip, but I didn't want to spoil my appetite! Through out the meal Adeli was so attentive and made sure to check on us and get us another round of drinks. I ordered a drink called "no strings attached" and it had this perfectly sweet coconut like foam on top. Magnificent! I ordered the chicken picatta, which was very well done. The lemon sauce was so flavorful, I was telling everyone to taste the sauce because I enjoyed it that much! At the end of dinner, we ordered a couple desserts. I am a crème brûlée lover and I will say that was the only dish that I wasn't very fond of because it was very egg tasting. Just a bit too much egg for me. Adeli brought out a plate that says happy birthday with a dessert and a candle for my sister. Such a nice touch and a fun way to end dinner! As we walked out, Adeli was kind enough to walk over to the entrance and take a group photo of all of us! I definitely want to come back for brunch and when the weather is warm to enjoy the outdoor dining!!! My next trip to Cali from Atlanta will definitely have Nigel's in my plans. So cute! Such a fun vibe, excellent service and food & drinks! We tried the petite filet, chopped salad & tomato soup. Also a side mac and cheese. For dessert we tried the butter cake and crème brûlée! The crème brûlée was my favorite!! Highly recommend for a girl's night or date night! read more

Yesterday was my first time trying Nigel's with my friends. The decor, atmosphere, food and service were overall good. The only complaint I have is I ordered a drink, in which the bartender brought to my table and asked "did someone order the "name of the drink" I was with my friends and we were in the middle on a conversation to which I turned and jokingly said "I think that's mine" the bartender then turned to us and said "did you order this drink or not bc if you did not and you drink it, you're going to have to pay for it" I thought that was very unnecessary to say in that tone and with that kind of attitude. I let it go bc she was clearly having a bad day. I think you should advise your staff to think about other words they can use, and the way they approach customers. Other than that, food was great, our sever was super sweet and knowledgeable. read more

Had the Best time at Nigel's!!! The pretty in pink Christmas bar is amazing! The bar is literally glowing! Megan did an amazing custom making a cocktail with a different liquor for me. I came to Nigels for Valentine's with a group of 5 of us. We rented a cabana and the view was beautiful! It was a nice warm day so it was perfect sitting outside. The music was a vibe and made the day great. I had a few drinks and the Passiontini was so good! The photo opportunities are so cute too! The food was a solid 8.5 out of 10 I got the steak and eggs. If you bring a cake they do charge a fee to cut it even if you bring your own knife. I didn't really understand that. But overall the vibe was there and I had a great time! read more

Highly recommend! Nigel's is hands down, a top-notch experience! You won't be disappointed! The food was amazing, great music, the ambiance was adorable. It made my friend's birthday an amazing experience she won't forget. The Bay Shore Fried Chicken Sandwich, Signature Cheeseburger and Flamingo Beet Hummus were so delicious! The burger was so juicy and tender! Also, the mocktails are a must try! And don't forget to ask about the complimentary boat ride! Hoping Nigel's is here to stay for a long time. The food and overall experience was amazing! We will be back! The reason for my 4-star rating instead of 5-star would be regarding the quality of service my friend and I received. The server, Farrah Rae, seemed disconnected, distracted or just not interested in serving us. her description of the menu was not very helpful. She brought my friend's birthday dessert to me, instead of her. Then she lit the flaming stick and left and did not sing happy birthday like the other waiters/waitresses did. At the end, she rushed to finish serving us and close out our bill. Unsure as to why we experienced the quality of service we did, and what the waitress was going through in that moment, but we will definitely request a different server the next time we visit.
