We came here this past weekend for a family birthday dinner, and overall, we had a good time celebrating together. The restaurant is definitely very on-theme -- lots of pink, cute decor, and a fun atmosphere that makes it feel perfect for a special occasion. There were a few things I noticed during our visit that I think could be improved. Some of the snake plants throughout the restaurant looked pretty rough and neglected. Since the decor is such a big part of the restaurant's atmosphere, taking better care of the plants would make the space feel even nicer. Our waiter was friendly, but he seemed to lack some experience when it came to taking our orders. He forgot to put in the birthday girl's order, and we had to remind him about it. Later, when it was time to pay, things became a little confusing. We had a large party and clearly communicated that we wanted the bill split into two checks, but there were several items placed on the wrong check and it took some back-and-forth to get everything sorted out. The food was good, and the drinks were enjoyable, so we were happy with those. I will say that the person who was bringing out our food came across as a little rude, which was another small thing that stood out. That being said, none of these things ruined our night. We were there to celebrate a birthday and, most importantly, we got to spend time together as a family and had a good time. I just wanted to share the experience because I think these are little areas where the restaurant could improve. Nigel's is an all-pink, velvety, photo-friendly spot that nails the fun, festive girls' outing vibe. I went with seven of my coworkers for our holiday party because we'd seen the pink theme and thought it would be a cute way to celebrate. The interior and bar are genuinely pretty and feel like the main event. We had a reservation and requested indoor seating but were placed on the patio. I wouldn't sit outside again. The sun was intense with no curtain to block it, which made the patio seating uncomfortable. Service was a bright spot. Our server was friendly and attentive, which helped. Food was hit or miss. Best bite of the meal: the Anchor's Tuna Tartare. Best drink: the Sweet & Spiced cocktail, which was fruity with a little spice and really enjoyable. For something lighter, the Little Gem Caesar Salad is a good pick. I ordered the Lux Lobster Roll: big pieces of lobster on buttery toasted bread, but it needed more seasoning (the lemon helped). The Seaside Crispy Asparagus Fries were tough to eat because the woody ends were left on, so they were chewy. I also wouldn't recommend the deviled eggs. One consistent issue: nothing arrived hot, everything was more lukewarm by the time it hit the table. Parking is easy since it's in a shopping center, but it's easy to miss the first time. Look near Nordstrom Rack, then follow the small sign down the stairs toward the boat docks. Bottom line: come for the vibes and drinks. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful--right on the water with such dreamy Vintage Pink Miami vibes that made the whole experience feel extra special and picture-perfect. First time here for a friend's birthday dinner and WOW! I'll just say if you love pink Christmas you're in for a treat! The entire restaurant is decked out with multiple pink decorations and Christmas trees! The vibe is very girly and cute. There are so many photo opportunities, I would definitely come dressed up every time. The service was amazing as well! We made a reservation and were sat right away. The food was amazing! The portions are on the smaller end but it's definitely worth it. I would recommend the fries and Cesar salad and pasta. The drinks were very cute as well. Especially the pink one and the Glinda one. Parking was really easy just parked in between the Nordstrom and Ralph's there plenty and no charge. 10/10 would come again. I heard brunch is really good so looking forward to trying that as well. We initially decided to make a reservation at Nigel's after seeing it all over social media--our algorithm definitely did its job. Unfortunately, I left feeling like the experience looked much better online than it actually was in person. Since Nigel's has now been open for about a year, I expected the space to feel a little more polished. While parts of the restaurant are definitely photogenic, once you're actually inside, the overall aesthetic felt a bit worn and tacky. The furniture and couches could use a deep cleaning or replacement, some items appeared damaged, the floors were surprisingly slippery, and the bathroom was extremely dark with pink lighting. I understand the pink-and-green, sea-inspired concept they're going for, but there is so much pink--from the lighting to the drinks to the plates--that it becomes overwhelming rather than cohesive. Unfortunately, the food was also disappointing. Several of our dishes arrived cold, which made us wonder if they had been sitting for a while. The chilaquiles were cold and soggy. The chicken and waffles had potential--the chicken itself was good, and I enjoyed the bacon bits--but the waffle was soggy and the overall dish lacked flavor. The only accompaniment was syrup, so if there isn't going to be a separate sauce for the chicken, I think the chicken needs to be seasoned more heavily. I say that as someone who previously lived in the South and has had some great chicken and waffles. The lobster Benedict was also cold and unfortunately just didn't work for us. The avocado toast was probably one of the better dishes we ordered, although the sourdough seemed over-toasted and was so hard that it was uncomfortable to eat. The drinks were another interesting choice. We ordered one mocktail and two different cocktails, and somehow all three arrived pink. Combined with the pink plates and the pink-heavy surroundings, it was just pink on pink on pink. From a design perspective, I think contrasting plates, glassware, or presentation would actually make their signature pink aesthetic stand out much more rather than having everything blend together. Service itself was good, and our server was very nice. The staff overall seemed friendly. My only service complaint was with the bussing. One busser brought a large tray/container directly to our table and began putting and stacking the dirty dishes into it in front of us, with plates loudly clanking together. Even though we were finished eating, it felt more appropriate to remove the dishes from the table first and organize them elsewhere rather than essentially clearing and sorting everything right in front of the guests. Some additional training around table-clearing etiquette would make the experience feel much more polished. Overall, I think Nigel's has a concept that photographs well and clearly attracts birthdays, bachelorette parties, bridal celebrations, and other group events, but the actual experience did not live up to the social media hype for us. The food was overall very mid, and the space could benefit from some maintenance, deep cleaning, and refinement of the design and service details. I would personally give it 2.5 stars, but since Yelp doesn't allow half stars, I'm rounding up to 3 stars. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return or recommend it based on our experience. Hopefully some of this feedback reaches the restaurant because there are definitely areas where relatively small changes could make a big difference. read more

This review is for brunch. When I made my reservation I intended it for the lunch menu. And the menu and website brunch ends at 2pm but it's actually 3pm. The brunch menu is severely lacking variety. 3/5 steak and eggs. Both my steak and eggs weren't cooked correctly. The steak was more medium then medium rare and the eggs were nowhere close to over medium. They were extremely undercooked I don't even think it was over easy. The breakfast potatoes are tiny and the toast shouldn't be there if they don't offer jelly or butter or anything to go on it. 4/5: when we sat down they said they had a full bar service. I ordered a Shirley temple and they did warn me they have a pomegranate version they do. So if I think of it as a pomegranate mocktail and not a Shirley temple to be fair, it was decent. 5/5 lily's spritz my friend enjoyed it a lot 2/5 service wasn't great. The entrance from the parking lot, not the parking structure isn't really manned we waited 10min for anyone to come help us and 3 other parties were also waiting and we weren't sure we were in the right place. The Duffy attendants were there but since they didn't handle the restaurant while friendly weren't really helpful. The server also wasn't friendly and you could tell was just trying to get us to move along. The entrance connected to the parking structure seems to be the main entrance so if you go try to enter through there instead Ambiance 4/5 the decor is lovely and they even had a dancer in the bar area. Late post - 11/01/25 My girl friends surprised me for my birthday at Nigel's for brunch. There are two entrances to get into this place. 1. Through the lower level parking garage and 2. The walkway in between Nordstrom Racks and the lower level parking garage. This was my first time here, so I used the walkway in between Nordstrom Racks and the lower level parking garage. My girl friends were greeted by the hostess and checked in since they were there first. I arrived shortly after. We didn't wait too long to be seated. We walked in passing the cabanas and there was an area where you can "ring for champagne". The restaurant was a bright color of hot pink. And there were colors of gold, white, and greenery. It was a cute aesthetic. Very chic. We were seated outdoors looking into the marina. We were there for brunch and their menu had some delicious items! One of my girl friends ordered the Sassy Avocado Toast, the other ordered Garden Scrambled, and I had La Reina Pork Carnitas Chilaquiles. The chilaquiles was a good size. I was only able to finish half of it because it was quite filling. It was very delicious! I highly recommend it. The carnitas was juicy and spicy level was moderate. It was perfect for me. No extra sauce needed. I had it the next day and it was still tasty! For drinks, we ordered a mocktail, Lily's Spritz. It's a non-alcoholic wine with guava & fresa syrup, fresh lemon, club soda. It's cute color of pink. Looked like we had a fancy cocktail :) it was refreshing! Desert, we shared a chocolate cake along with a cute birthday cupcake! The overall service was great. A PINK DREAM Omg we had the best time at Nigel's! My friend's and I celebrated my birthday there. First, we had a 2hr Pink Duffy boat ride before lunch. Our driver Christian was awesome! He took us around the marina and he showed us the moon jellyfish. Then we had an amazing lunch! The food, service, drinks and ambience is a 10/10! Jake was amazing and attentive! I visited Nigel's to celebrate my best friends birthday and we had such an amazing time. We enjoyed ourselves the moment we stepped in and were greeted by the friendly staff. The atmosphere of this restaurant is gorgeous, with the interior reminding you of retro Miami. The food was delicious and the flavors definitely connected to the waterfront vibes. After dinner we were able to experience a complimentary boat ride. Overrated and underwhelmed. We really wanted to like this restaurant. It really has potential to be something cute, lively and instagramable. We went on a Saturday night, they were busy, which is great, but it went down hill from there. The table next to us had middle aged ladies who were so drunk at the dinner table and proceeded to throw up. The waitress brought her a champagne bucket to throw up in because she couldn't make it to the bathroom. Which I understand isn't the restaurants fault, but you would think that after that happens, they'd be cut off or kindly asked to leave. Nope! They continued to serve and allow this woman to stumble back and forth to the bathroom. The bathroom after was absolutely disgusting. It smelled like vomit - this was probably 1 hour after that group left. We went to use the restroom before leaving and it was bad. The floor was dirty, the stalls had no toilet paper and they had an industrial fan blowing in there to help the vomit smell. We let them know that all stalls were empty and we waited for more toilet paper, it never came. The only reason why I am giving two stars, was for our server. He was so kind, so helpful and just overall a joy to be served by him. I think management needs to make sure that this restaurant is cleaner and less run down looking especially on a busy Saturday night. read more

So excited as I've been wanting to check this place out since it opened!! Make sure you enter through the parking garage as they do have a couple entrances but this one is so pretty!! We had a lovely afternoon celebrating my and my sister's birthdays! The ambiance was truly festive ..,pretty in PINK EVERYTHING AND EVERYWHERE! Barbie would feel right at home The food was delicious. Steaks were perfectly cooked (medium rare), salmon had crispy skin, chicken piccata was flavorful and the drinks were creative and as beautiful as they were delicious. Our servers were all spectacular with the manager stopping by our table to offer his top three recommendations, we ordered them all and they did not disappoint! After lunch (Wednesdays and Thursdays) we were treated to a complimentary 20 minute boat ride and saw Moon Jellyfish!!! I got to gently touch one - made my day! The place is filled with fun photo ops, but some of the faux florals could use some sprucing up or replacement, the sun at the ocean can be brutal, but it all still photographs well. We sat at a booth facing the waterfront. The cabanas had a view of the entry walkway and champagne pop up so moving forward, I think we will stick to booths to avoid foot traffic in front of our table. Nigels is definitely a destination. Everything here was great! The ambience obvi but also our food server was so sweet, nice and attentive. The manager came by twice during our dining to check on us and ask how everything was. We were there for early dinner and drinks about 5pm and it was very hot outside so one of the employees moved an umbrella to give us extra shade. We sat in the restaurant at one of the round booths facing the water. It was hot and sunny so the umbrella was appreciated. Afterward dinner we were treated to a short shared Duffy boat ride that was really fun. This is a great spot for a birthday celebration or just brunch with the girls. This spot is right along the marina and has inside and outside seating. The ambience and the decor were such a vibe. We ordered a few appetizers: double eggs, asparagus, fries, Parmesan fries, and a charcuterie board. We also ordered the dirty little secret drinks, and a lemon drop. For my main dish I ordered the lobster grilled cheese with tomato soup, which I thought was amazing. The reason for the four star is that there was a switch out of our waiters and our waiter was not as attentive and as helpful as our first waitress with providing to go containers for our leftovers. He brought out little sauce containers for our leftover soup, which was almost laughable. Overall, it is worth having a brunch here for the ambience and vibes. read more

We were in Seal Beach looking for a nice place to have dinner, and came across this spot through a google search. We didn't know anything about this place, and from our understanding it's fairly new. For starters it's a bit difficult to find, tucked in behind a big shopping center. You either can access it through a hidden underground parking garage or a small nondescript path. Once you find it though, you can't miss it. Probably one of the defining things about this spot is its unique style. There's a very curated kitschy aesthetic throughout the whole space, and it's doused in pink lighting. From my understanding they even have cabanas and mini boats (these are not open yet) that one can dine in for an extra fee. It could have been because I didn't look up anything besides the menu, that everything was a bit overstimulating for me when we came in for dinner. I can imagine this spot would be perfect for brunch, but if you're looking for a more lowkey dinner, this might not be the spot. Still, I appreciate the fun and novelty of the space and would definitely come back for the right occasion. Food wise, everything we ordered was solid. Their menu has a good range of options, but is almost identical to nearby spots like Nicks on 2nd. Maybe they're connected restaurants, but the menu is almost completely the same to me. My fried chicken sandwich was good, but could have used a bit more flavor overall. My partners Chicken Piccata, and our Asparagus fries were very tasty though and the highlight of our meal. The portions are large, and you will definitely not leave hungry. There's not much to say about the service beyond there wasn't much of it. While the manager/owner dropped by our table multiple times (and even offered us a Duffy boat ride,) our server was scarce. We had to actively ask for refills on our water multiple times, and we would go long stretches with no water at all. Everyone was friendly and there was nothing seriously wrong, but things like water and checking in are basics. I got the sense that they were understaffed, as we were seated and even greeted by one server, but then served by a different one. Probably since they're new they're still getting a handle on everything so this may be different if you visit in the future. I'm glad that we stopped by Nigel's because it's a very unique spot. This is the perfect place for brunch or maybe a birthday party with some friends. I get a sense they're still working things out, but I think once they're fully going they could be very popular. I can't believe this place has been sitting right here and I never knew about it. From the second you walk the red carpet into the restaurant you feel like you're somewhere special. The waterfront views are beautiful and every little detail has been thought out. As a mermaid lover I was obsessed with the seashell chairs at the back bar. My daughter and I did the Dine and Dock experience and it ended up being one of our favorite girls' days. I had the salmon and the glittery pink deviled eggs. They were almost too pretty to eat and everything tasted just as good as it looked. The cocktails were so fun and honestly every one I tried was delicious. Our server was amazing and management stopped by to check on us, which I always appreciate. The chef even came out and told us the story behind Nigel's famous chicken piccata family recipe. I love little personal touches like that. After dinner we went out on the pink Duffy boat. Having a captain was the best because we could just relax and enjoy the ride. We even saw jellyfish. We added the charcuterie board and decorations and the boat looked so cute when we got there. We had such a great time and made so many fun memories. What made this even more frustrating was being told that takeout containers were unavailable, despite us clearly seeing other guests leaving with takeout containers. This inconsistency was disappointing and left us feeling that we were not being treated fairly. Additionally, the pricing was quoted during the planning process did not match the final bill, which was unexpected and frustrating. Communication from the manager throughout the event planning process was poor, making the entire experience more stressful than it needed to be. I was also surprised that a 20% gratuity was automatically added to our bill. Overall, the combination of inconsistent policies, poor communication, pricing discrepancies, and the overall experience left a negative impression. Like many others have mentioned in their reviews, this restaurant is absolutely beautiful. It's very well themed, the glassware is gorgeous, the gold silverware is a fun touch, and the décor and overall ambiance are fantastic. We came here to celebrate our friend's birthday with a party of 10. When we were seated, we were informed there was a two-hour dining limit, which we completely understood since it's a busy restaurant. We ordered drinks first, but they took about 25 minutes to arrive. My drink had condensation on the outside of the glass, making it obvious it had been sitting for quite a while. For an $18 cocktail, that was a little disappointing since drinks can change in taste if they sit too long. Still, it wasn't a huge issue. Our food arrived promptly, additional rounds of drinks came quickly, and we were genuinely having a wonderful time celebrating. Unfortunately, everything changed when the bill came. The restaurant automatically added a 20% gratuity, which was clearly stated on the menu, so we expected that. What we were not told was that they do not split checks and will only accept a maximum of three credit cards for large parties. This policy is not listed on the menu, nor were we informed when we were seated. As we've done at many restaurants, everyone calculated their own total, including tax and gratuity, so we could each pay our share. However, every time we added everything together, we were coming up $30-$50 short. We simply asked if the server could separate the bill by seat so we could verify each person's subtotal. She told us she couldn't. At that point, the manager came over because we had already spent about 30 minutes trying to sort it out. He explained that they don't allow multiple credit cards because of processing fees and that they would not split the check. When we asked how other large parties handle this, he simply said, "They just pay it." We found that hard to believe for a bill approaching $1,000. After nearly an hour of going back and forth with both the server and the manager, we finally said we would have to remove the automatic gratuity--not because of the server, who was great and absolutely deserved a tip, but because it was the only way we could accurately calculate what everyone owed. As soon as we said that, the server was suddenly able to separate the items by person and process all of our credit cards individually. It was incredibly frustrating because what had been such a fun and enjoyable afternoon ended on a very sour note. This entire situation could have been avoided if the restaurant had simply disclosed its payment policy upfront. If a restaurant refuses to split checks and limits the number of credit cards it will accept, that policy should be clearly stated on the menu and communicated to guests before they order. It's unfortunate because the restaurant itself is beautiful, the atmosphere is excellent, and we genuinely enjoyed our meal. I recently visited Nigel Restaurant to celebrate my friend's birthday, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing from beginning to end. When we first arrived, my friend ordered a drink from the server, but it never came out. We noticed other drinks being served before hers, and then the server disappeared for quite a while. I understand places can get busy, but we didn't even get our food orders taken until we had to ask someone for assistance. Even after that, it took over 10 minutes for the server to finally come back to our table. While ordering, almost everything we asked for from the menu was "sold out" or unavailable, which was frustrating considering this was supposed to be a birthday celebration. Later in the evening, around closing time, we asked a gentleman cleaning a nearby table if they would still be able to sing Happy Birthday since it was mentioned during the reservation process. He kindly said it shouldn't be a problem. However, when we asked our server, she responded that she thought the birthday sign was locked away in a shed and said she would "see." At that point, we noticed a man who identified himself as the bar owner following another group of young women around and offering them shots. He personally walked the shots out to them on the patio. We attempted to get his attention to ask about the birthday sign, but he completely ignored us. Another gentleman, who appeared to be a manager, was also rude and dismissive when we asked for help. Neither of them made us feel valued as paying customers. Eventually, the server came back and said she found the birthday sign. But when it came time to sing Happy Birthday, it was only her singing alone, and she didn't even light up the sign. After all the waiting, confusion, and poor customer service throughout the night, the moment felt very last-minute and disappointing. Overall, the service was unprofessional, inattentive, and unwelcoming. What was supposed to be a special birthday celebration turned into a frustrating experience. I really wanted to give this place five stars. The food was excellent, and the restaurant itself is unique with a fantastic atmosphere. The host and management were welcoming, personable, and made a great first impression. Unfortunately, the service kept this from being a five-star experience. It took about 20 minutes to receive our first round of drinks, and nearly 25 minutes passed before our waiter checked back in. Since we hadn't seen him, I asked the hostess if she could send him over so we could order appetizers. When he arrived, the interaction became unexpectedly confrontational. My wife had simply asked if we could wait to order our entrées until after the appetizers arrived because we were concerned everything would come out at once. Instead of acknowledging the request, he told us he'd been doing this for 20 years and knew what he was doing. After that, we were uncomfortable asking for anything else--even refills on water or iced tea--because we didn't want another negative interaction. To be clear, we left on good terms, and I don't enjoy leaving critical reviews. If you look through my other reviews, you'll see I usually give five stars and rarely rate a place lower. That's why I felt it was important to share this experience. This restaurant has so much potential. The food, atmosphere, and concept are all outstanding. Dined at Nigel's for a Belated Birthday lunch. The waterfront ambiance is very lively with pink,gold,and white decorations that are pleasant and attractive. Our waitress Monica was very attentive and accommodating for our party of three. We enjoyed a variety of appetizers and salads including Caesars Salad and crab cakes. Our entrees included salmon,lobster roll and steak, all were delicious. The variety of cocktails were excellent! We had sugar cake and lava cake for dessert and ordered cheesecake to go. Nigel's is a very instagram worthy pink restaurant/bar. I went here for the first time to celebrate a birthday with a party of 10. Reservations for 10 was very hard to get. We tried calling ahead but no answer and their website wasn't helpful for a party that large. My gf came early to try to get a table on a weekday and we were able to get two booths and some chairs. There was a $500 minimum rule for our tables. But drinks from the bar area did not count. Cocktails were really good but pricey ($18+). Food was also good and much better than I expected. I got a salad with added salmon and it was delicious. My friends all enjoyed their food. My salad was inexpensive but my added salmon by itself was an additional $18. However, I would come back to try their other food items. The service was okay. They won't let you sit until your entire party was there so we went to the bar. But they didn't check on us to see if everyone had arrived. Then when we did sit it took awhile for menus to be given to us. It just seemed like even though they had a lot of people working there no one was communicating. But later service got better. The place is definitely cute and detailed. I love the bar area, the pink sofa chairs and all the light fixtures. And the fact that it was right next to the marina with their pink boats just makes it even better. I can see this spot getting very popular. I would come back with some girlfriends. read more

This is such a beautiful restaurant as far as esthetics. So many photo ops. While the restaurant && ambience were pretty; the food was very mid. Out of all the meals the carnitas chilaquiles was the best. That itself gets a 10. What a cool place to visit. Ambiance was popping, the drinks were delicious and the food was good. Cooler thing about it is that you're able to rent a Duffy boat and cruise around the waters of Long Beach. Service was a little slow but they did just open 7 weeks ago.
