I've been seeing so many reels about Nigel's and had to try it out. I reserved a floating booth about a month prior to my reservation and I received a call from the restaurant about a week before my reservation letting me know the floating booths aren't available. It was kind of a bummer but I was also having intrusive thoughts of high wind and having a difficult time eating/drinking or getting motion sickness from it so I was fine with a regular table. Nigel's has three entrances-you can enter from two different sides of the parking garage or from the main parking lot. The pink decor is very cute and aesthetic. When we arrived at the host stand, there wasn't very good communication among the staff and it took a while for us to get seated. Once we got seated, our server was very attentive and checked on us very often. We both ordered the Viva Petit Trio Plate. The filet was good but very small (as the name suggests) and the tomato bisque was also very tasty. We ordered the butter cake for dessert which comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream-very yummy! Nigel's looks like the perfect place for brunch or a birthday celebration. It's very Instagrammable and cute and there are so many great places to take photos. I'd like to come back to try their breakfast/brunch menu some time! read more

I went here with a friend and thank heavens I did because otherwise it would have been impossible to find. It's inside. The entrance is inside a parking garage and you would never know it. Pink is the word to describe this place and is absolutely adorable. It looks out on the water and it's very charming. We liked our food and the booth was oriented so we could see out onto the marina. I really wanted to give this place five stars. The food was excellent, and the restaurant itself is unique with a fantastic atmosphere. The host and management were welcoming, personable, and made a great first impression. Unfortunately, the service kept this from being a five-star experience. It took about 20 minutes to receive our first round of drinks, and nearly 25 minutes passed before our waiter checked back in. Since we hadn't seen him, I asked the hostess if she could send him over so we could order appetizers. When he arrived, the interaction became unexpectedly confrontational. My wife had simply asked if we could wait to order our entrées until after the appetizers arrived because we were concerned everything would come out at once. Instead of acknowledging the request, he told us he'd been doing this for 20 years and knew what he was doing. After that, we were uncomfortable asking for anything else--even refills on water or iced tea--because we didn't want another negative interaction. To be clear, we left on good terms, and I don't enjoy leaving critical reviews. If you look through my other reviews, you'll see I usually give five stars and rarely rate a place lower. That's why I felt it was important to share this experience. This restaurant has so much potential. The food, atmosphere, and concept are all outstanding. Dined at Nigel's for a Belated Birthday lunch. The waterfront ambiance is very lively with pink,gold,and white decorations that are pleasant and attractive. Our waitress Monica was very attentive and accommodating for our party of three. We enjoyed a variety of appetizers and salads including Caesars Salad and crab cakes. Our entrees included salmon,lobster roll and steak, all were delicious. The variety of cocktails were excellent! We had sugar cake and lava cake for dessert and ordered cheesecake to go. If Trixie Mattel and Malibu Barbie had a baby, they'd name him Nigel! This place spared no expense to make this the cutest spot around! From the minute you walk up, you'll be transported into the most visually appealing place you've ever been. I love all the areas for photo ops, even the bathroom offers great lighting! The Duffy boats and cabanas are great for a fun meal, or even a photo op. I was actually really surprised by how spacious Nigel's was! The whole restaurant wraps around, has a beautiful bar and an outdoor space too. The mid century modern details, velvet booths, golden accents, it all provides a high end feel, while still offering a kitschy vibe. It's campy and fun, but feels elevated. Our server for brunch, Michelle was fantastic. She made sure we were well taken care of, and even made some great recommendations from the menu! Our food was fantastic. There wasn't anything I tried that I didn't like. From the steak and eggs, to the banana foster French toast, it was all to DIE for! This is the cutest place! It's conveniently located in a shopping center so there's plenty of free parking and multiple points of entry. We had reservations but still had to wait a bit. We got to sit at one of the booths facing the water, which was very enjoyable. Our server was delightful and attentive, although there were a few things we had to follow up on, she was always pleasant. And she let the 5 of us do separate checks. The actual food was OK. We ordered charcuterie boards, calamari, Caesar salads, asparagus fries, deviled eggs, chicken piccata, admiral's salmon, truffled mushroom risotto, petit trio plate, fried chicken sandwich, luxe lobster roll, butter cake. All great dishes. For drinks: dirty little secret, sippin pretty, Lily's spritz. Of everything ordered, the only thing I wasn't crazy about was the calamari (it wasn't crispy) and the asparagus fries. Everyone else enjoyed them and they all said their food was flavorful. Reservations were difficult as the Saturday availability was completely pulled from Opentable and it is difficult to get a live person on the phone. Finally got Leah on the phone and setup reservation with her. We reserved a cabana, which has a $500 spend minimum with an added 20% gratuity. For a party of 8, with drinks, all of the appetizers, and entrees for everyone, it pans out perfectly. Price point is very affordable. Our server Alexia was great! Con: champagne wall was out of service :( and Nigel didn't visit our cabana despite making table visits in his pink suit jacket. Also, didn't love that our cabana was directly in front of the check in booth. It felt so tight and crowded, having to say excuse me to people waiting to be seated just to get out of our booth or people going down to the dock. read more

Nigel's is the CUTEST restaurant in Long Beach!! This is only the second Saturday of opening, and they're already bustling with all the buzz on the socials. The place is sprawling with Miami-inspired decor, pink booths, green walls, and gold accents. Every detail was well thought out, even the gold swan faucets in the bathroom! The booths hug the canal where people can take Duffy cruises from same owners' Anchors Away business next door. Free 20-minute Duffy rides if you dine there for lunch or dinner on Wednesdays and Thursdays! My friend made reservations on Open Table, and the host seated us as soon as we arrived. There are two entrances on each side, so that should help with efficiently seating guests. The cocktail menu is more creative than the food menu, but every dish we got was really good. Sippin Pretty ($18) Empress Gin, Italicus, Fresh Lemon Juice, Cane Syrup - a bit on the sweet side, but was lovely in the vintage glass on a hot day. We also got a bottle of Hampton Water Bubbly Rosé for $56, which was kept chilled in a gold bucket. They accidentally charged me for two bottles on the bill, but they fixed it as soon as I noticed and let them know. Fried & Fancy Calamari ($20) - lightly breaded and drizzled with a sweet chili sauce and roasted garlic aioli. Not bad, but nothing out of the ordinary. Grand Ahi Tuna Salad ($22) - about 4 decent pieces of seared ahi, avocado and a fresh mix of greens with snap peas, carrots and radishes for crunch. The miso-ginger vinaigrette was delish. Luxe Lobster Roll ($35) - Court-Bouillon poached lobster (pieces seemed more like langostino), but there was a generous amount! The New England Roll was buttery, toasted and soft. I appreciated the celery, lettuce and green onions for veggies and texture. The fries were mid. Nigel came around and genuinely greeted each table. He shared that this was 3 years in the making and how he had his wife were inspired after visiting Miami. After some chit chat, he moved on to the next table. I read some negative reviews about how the staff treated people of color badly, but I didn't get that sense at all today. I decided to go on a Wednesday night to catch up with friends and we were amused. We tried the Anchor's Tuna Tartare and Fried Deviled Eggs for starters. Both were great appetizers, though the Tartare was exceptionally fresh! For my entree, I enjoyed The Admiral's Salmon! The blood orange sauce amongst mashed potatoes, sugar-snap peas and spinach was so flavorful! I took a bite of the Chicken Piccata and was pleasantly surprised. We shared the Nigel's Butter Cake and I highly recommend. Topped with fresh berries and vanilla ice cream, it is decadently moist with a nice crispy edge. Though I adore the aesthetic and warm staff, I will say some seating options should be solely reserved for drinks and small bites. With comfy couch-like seating in many areas, the table heights mirror that of coffee tables. This was a bit of a disappointment. I got the girls together for a galentines Saturday brunch in early February and Nigel's was the it place. Reservations were easy to make which is appreciated. Otherwise there are two entrances to Nigel's one from the outside walkway by Tantalum-- this is for those with Duffy/cabana reservations. For regular reservations entry is through the parking structure it's a bit confusing but you will see a cute Nigel's Barbie box to take photos and a stand to check in with the host. Once we checked in we were seated quickly for our 1pm reservation which was appreciated as they were busy! All the cocktails had a splash of glitter or pink and ranged from $18-$20. I thought the margarita was delicious and perfect for lunch brunch. The food was actually delicious and is a solid 4 star rating in my book. Everyone enjoyed their dish so no complaints. The only ding in stars was service. It started off strong but dwindled incredibly. I wanted to order two bottles of wine ( white, rose) for the girls. I kid you not, not once, but three times the waitress came back saying they didn't have that bottle. Of course, the higher end bottles were available which I ended up agreeing on but honestly they should have given it to me at the price of the first bottles request. She kept saying oh yes we do have that and came back oh no I'm sorry. This happened three times with the white 4 times with the rose. Ridiculous. Then more than half way through our server goes on break so we had a girl fill in. Sweet but really lacked. The whole thirty minutes our server was gone asked we ordered the rosé bottle, never got it, asked for dessert, never got it. When our server came back from lunch she apologized and told us nothing was ever put in. We ended up passing on the dessert and just waited for the rose. Me and friends have been going to anchors away for years and have seen Nigel's go from dust and a small area with a few chairs to a fully blown restaurant now and it's amazing at how it's all came Together! Me and my cousin came here early December on a Friday evening and almost missed our reservation trying to find parking so definitely come a bit early to make sure you find something! Me and the cousin just kept saying how much we loved the pink decor and the staff jackets! Me and my cousin split the little gem ceaser salad and each ordered the chicken piccata perfection ($24). For drinks I ordered a whisky sour and my cousin ordered a special drink for the month which was a wicked theme Glinda drink which had the cutest presentation when they brought it over! It all felt pretty cozy and it wasn't super packed in the restaurant which was nice and so we didn't feel rushed. The staff was very friendly and let us take all the pics we wanted! What a great time!!!!!! Even Nigel walked around and chatted with every table (at first, I was like, "oh no is he gonna be some cheesy schmooze guy?" but I liked him so much. Also, as good as it was, My friend and I were laughing so hard because our fork and knife just could not cut the bread. Our server later told us we should've asked for a steak knife, but still... Went for brunch on a Sunday for a birthday. We knew it would look cool from all the pics but was curious about the food. The service was amazing. The vibe was great. Music was my jam. The indoor/outdoor feel was perfect for a warm august morning. Then the food came out and....it was excellent. We were all pleasantly surprised. Our table got: Chicken and waffles (x2) Veggie scramble French toast I believe the chicken and waffles was the fave as we shared amongst ourselves. It had bacon bits in the waffles and the syrup elevated. They gave us a cupcake with a sparkler for the bday boy which was a nice touch. With 2 bottles of wine, tax and tip it was $300 for four of us. So not a cheap brunch but the 2 bottles of wine was more than half of the bill. I say it's worth it though bc while it felt like a Hollywood-type place with the glamour and the Instagram-friendly setups, the crowd was definitely NOT Hollywood or trashy. Definitely a fun, Long Beach crowd (diverse and not super young) with a lot of other tables celebrating birthdays. I believe the price point keeps the flies out. Such a stunning waterfront restaurant and bar. I was excited to visit this place since it just opened a few weeks ago and I was in town visiting Long Beach. Breathtaking views, gorgeous ambiance, service was immaculate, cocktails were amazing, and the food was out of this world. Picture worthy in every corner, perfect for all pink lovers. Came here last week for lunch and dinner. Kaitlyn was our server for lunch, she was amazing and provided suggestions for cocktails and food. We ordered the Leah's spritz, seaside crispy asparagus fries, cheeseburger with pomme frites, lobster roll with chopped salad, and the warm butter cake. Everything was so delicious, I had to come back and try their dinner the next day. Sabrina was our server for dinner, and she was also fantastic. I had the mini mule and my friend ordered the lily's spritz for our cocktails. We shared everything and had the flamingo beet hummus, seafarer's seared seabass, and chicken picatta. We ordered the warm butter cake again since we were celebrating my friend's birthday. I definitely want to try the chocolate cake and creme brûlée next time. The beet hummus and seabass were my favorites, I would definitely order those dishes again. I took my daughter for her 24th birthday . The place was cute. Upon arrival. There was plenty of parking. She got to feel like the star that she is on the pink carpet. They seated us on a table near a bookshelf. Unfortunately, the seats were beige, and they were dirty. The food selection was limited during a weekday. The food was okay but not for The price. My daughter got an espresso martini and I got a another cocktail. We also had the charcuterie board which was definitely lacking. She got the mushroom risotto and I got a grilled cheese with fries since I couldn't get the Chilaquiles that I wanted. I was informed they are only served on the weekends. We also ordered the butter cake for her birthday dessert, and they brought her out a little ice cream dessert. The butter cake was not good at all. Our waitress was helpful, but she was also training another waitress the same day so we felt a lot of pressure to order more and more items. I also ordered a Sprite that was poured into a glass and a gnat immediately landed in it. Nevertheless, I couldn't finish it. The restaurant sits on a canal so there were gnats , everywhere. We also went on the Duffy boat ride, which made the experience very pleasant the little driver, a young man was long blonde hair was very informative and sweet. Niguel's is the perfect spot for a girls' brunch. This location is beyond cute, very pink, very colorful, and absolutely a girls-girls brunch vibe. I came here with my girls to celebrate Galentine's Day, and it honestly couldn't have been a better choice... It does get very busy, so I highly recommend making reservations in advance, especially for a Sunday morning. They give you a 90-minute window with your reservation, which makes sense given how popular it is. We sat inside and had great seats overlooking the water outside, it was such a nice view. They also have cabanas, but just a heads-up: reserving one comes with a $600 food and drink minimum. Definitely more worth it for a bachelorette or a big birthday celebration with a larger group.. The staff was very nice, friendly, and welcoming from start to finish. This is truly a girly spot, there were maybe two or three men there with groups of women, but the majority of guests were women, all dressed up and looking cute.. Lots of pink outfits, dresses, and full Galentine's Day energy. I noticed several groups celebrating Galentine's as well... The venue itself has tons of cute photo ops, and you can walk down closer to the water. They even have pink Duffy boats you can take pictures in for free, which was such a fun touch.. Food-wise, I ordered the ahi tuna salad and was pleasantly surprised, it was very delicious. The ahi tasted fresh, and the salad was light, refreshing, and perfect for brunch. My sister ordered the chilaquiles, and while I'm very picky about those, they were actually better than expected. The drinks were good too. I ordered the Sippin Pretty, a gin-based drink that was light but strong, with a nice floral taste and not overly sweet, which I loved... The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because some of the outdoor photo-op areas could use better maintenance. They looked a bit worn and dirty, likely from sun exposure over time. Nothing major, but noticeable.. Parking was easy, there's a parking structure, or you can park in the shopping center lot up top (which is what we did) and walk down the side stairs into the restaurant. I went to Nigel's on Sunday with my girls, and overall it was a cute spot. The aesthetic is really pretty. I loved all the pink details, it definitely gives a fun, girly vibe that's perfect for a girls' outing. The staff was also super friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. I ordered the pink lemon drop and the chicken and waffles. The drink was good, and the waffle itself was tasty. However, the chicken was not seasoned, which was disappointing and kind of threw off the whole dish for me. Food was good. Portions are not big but enough. We went there for brunch on a Sunday to celebrate a birthday. There were 6 of us total. The drinks were also good. They have a variety of cocktails and they also have mocktails. The service was a bit slow but they are always full. Getting a reservation is not easy as they fill up fast. You can request a Duffy ride after your meal the rides are free Wednesday thru Friday and there's a charge on weekends. The ambiance is great! They have designed the place so that tables face the Marina and have a nice view. Also there's somewhat of an aspect of privacy in that set up. This place is so CUTE! The attention to detail from the wall decor, color scheme, gold touches, PINK everywhere. It's like a Palm Springs oasis in Long Beach! We met the owner, Nigel! He visited every table and warmly thanked us for visiting. He offered us a free boat ride after our lunch but we didn't have time for that this time. THE FOOD was outstanding. The tuna tartare appetizer was the best I've had. We had the lobster roll (stuffed with lobster on buttery bread) and mushroom melt (the crispy sandwich bread was delicious. The butter cake was warm, soft, dusted with sugar crystals and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. We ordered both mocktails on the menu and they were delicious! This place is stunning. This is the cutest and most whimsical types of restaurants that I have been to. It's decor inside and out is PINK!!! It's a dream spot for anyone that loves the color. It's a great spot for a small party, or gathering. I guess you can also take a boat ride around the marina if you reserve that ahead. The whole concept is so cool. The service was great and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The menu is not overly complicated which I like and appreciate. The food was very good and brought out in a timely manner. This is the cutest place to have a girls brunch. They do hold to the 2 hour time frame. You start to feel rushed once you're done eating so you can't just hang out there. The food and drinks were delicious! The ambience is so cute with so many photo ops. Worth a visit! read more

We dropped by Nigel's for a drink and dessert. They were very accommodating as we were a party of four and the bar was an only option and we wanted a table so they gave us a high top and it was very nice. We got the butter cake and chocolate cake and a triple berry gin drink Sippin Pretty and The espresso drink with a toasted marshmallow and gold coffee bean is Midnight in Miami. Both delicious. It was a nice afternoon delight. The staff is very friendly and they even offered us a Duffy ride around the bay. We are coming back to celebrate my birthday. The food coming out looked good. Oh MY!!! How did I miss this cute pink and green gem of a restaurant! I first saw on it on IG and saved it for later. Finally!! I go to celebrate my birthday. I Love the chic ambiance and every seat is a good seat. I ordered the fried chicken salad and my sis order the Wagu burger with kale salad. Our food came out , delicious and the buns were dusted with edible gold! What a fun surprise! There's plenty of places for a photo opportunity. Our waitress could have had been more friendly she seemed like she didn't want to be bothered with us (maybe she was having a bad day, or didn't want to serve us) anyway, that wasn't going to stop my birthday celebration. At the end of the meal she brought out an ice cream with a flaming stick and then she quickly took off ( again, not sure what that was about). The parking is free and located inside the parking garage. Last of all, we took a complimentary boat ride on the canal. We will be back again! Hopefully we won't get the same waitress, if so we will ask for someone else. One more thing!!! The key lime pie!!! Ooweee! Very delicious. Oh one more thing... our waitress was rude at the end. If you have an aversion to the combination of the colors red and white (spoiler: it's pink), do NOT come here. If you're a normal person, come here. The edible is kicking in, so I'm going to try to stay focused. Ambiance: It's pink; it's pink as hell. And in that regard, it's quite unique. While coming up with the idea for a restaurant, future owners must think, "how can I differentiate our restaurant against the MILLIONS that exist?" Most struggle with this, but Nigel said "let's make it pink, and it WORKS. To give you context, I'm a heterosexual black man raised in Georgia, and it doesn't phase me. I base a restaurant on the merit of its food and customer service and not its look. Service: Carly and Megan were my bartender. For the sake of keeping this brief, I'm going to refer to both of them as "She" or (for plurality) "They" for simplification (they also were interchangeable since they were perfect bartenders). Even though they were busy, they greeted me as soon as I sat down. Despite being busy, they asked me how I was doing and what was new since I last saw them. They ALMOST convinced me to get food, but I was only there for drinks. Speaking of DRINKS, they were unequivocally the best I've had. My first drink was a Last Word with Mezcal, and my second (hopefully last as I'm typing this) was/is a Manhattan with High West Double Rye. Both delectable.
