I am trying to be understanding due to covid. However, this restaurant often takes over 1 hour - up to 2 hours, to deliver food that can vary significantly form order to order. Sometimes everything is cooked perfectly, and other times it can seem a bit undercooked for the average person's liking. Ironically, even when deliver arrives late, it is still undercooked. Oh boy...where do I even begin...This place is the biggest cluster F*** I have ever seen. I ordered a simple order online..free delivery. Small pizza and plain wings. I live exactly 10 houses away from this building!!! not even 2 minutes away....An hour and a half later....some scraggly looking dude showed up at my door and dropped off my food. I took it inside, opened it...and it was stone cold...plus our condiments that we paid for....we not in the bag.(Mind you I called the pizza place 2 times while waiting that hour and a half.)  So my Roomate picked up the nasty under cooked pizza and over cooked wings(no drummies)...and took it back. Then he stood there unattended and ignored for thirty more minutes...ONLY to be told to take the cold nasty uncooked food back home and eat it!!!!! and the manager would call us...ARE YOU EFFIN SERIOUS???? ok whatever you do...DO NOT EVER GO INTO THIS DUMP AND TRY TO ORDER ANY FOOD... Nicks was the first restaurant my family and I attended once things opened up after corona. What a huge disappointment our experience was. There was one waitress working the place. She had 5 to 6 tables to take care of at a time ( which is quite common ) and was taking incoming calls on the restaurants phone (she carried it on her person) She was one of the most inefficient waitresses I have ever encountered. The food was inconsistent. Some things were very good , others were barely edible. The kicker at the end was while waiting a long wait for our check, witnessing the "cleanup" of a nearby table. After the table was cleared of dirty dishes, it was wiped off with what looked like a dirty slop cloth. The ketchup,salt, pepper etc. were simply put back in their place with no regard to germ control. This was such a disappointment. I ordered a vanilla milkshake and that was delicious. However I ordered a side of fries and not only did it take over 30 minutes for my fries to arrive, they arrived soggy and tasteless. My friend ordered the chili fries and the chili tested almost metallic. This order also also took over thirty minutes. Also the service was terrible. While it took over thirty minutes to get our food, our waitress never came and asked if we were okay or refilled any of our drinks. We only got our food when I asked a different waitress about the reason for the long wait. The restaurant was not busy. It was so sad because the inside was a great diner. While the food was actually really good, I experienced the worst customer service I ever had in my life. My food showed up 2.5 after ordering, cold which I would of been fine warming up. Hey things happen right. But Nicks diner took it too far by then texting me and telling me that the delivery driver "had dropped off my food hours ago because I had not answered my phone". It wasn't until I showed the phone records of speaking to her that the diner finally stopped texting me and played it off like it was the drivers fault. I will never order from here again, and when asked about Nicks I will show these text messages. When ordering food I do not provide my phone number to be harassed, I provide for in the event (like this one) the food is delayed or there is a problem. We were pleasantly surprised with the two meals that we got. I ordered lasagna and my wife ordered the beef tip. Meals came out very quickly. Waiter was excellent and attended to all our wants and needs. Price was very reasonable and plan on going back again. read more

I was interested in the restaurant because it was recently refurbished. Was I ever sorry! The food was positively disgusting. I ordered the hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and my husband ordered the cajun burger. The potatoes were definitely from a bag bought at the dollar store. The food arrived cold. To the touch. After we waited 40 minutes with just one other table seated. Once I called the waitress she asked me if I wanted a fresh plate or to have it reheated. I asked for fresh. It took 3 minutes in total for the "new" plate to arrive. It was so disgusting I will not even continue. The cajun burger was equally nasty - no seasonings and the blue cheese was grey. This place is a diamond in the rough. We browsed the menu before we got there and when i saw the disco fries/poutine i knew we had to try them. We were there a little before noon on a wednesday and we were the only ones there which was lovely. The fries came and they were crispy & piping hot. They were so good!!! We then decided on burgers- and so glad we did. I forgot the name of my burger but it came with mushrooms, swiss and a homemade truffle aioli- holy smokes was it good! i added the onion, tomato and lettuce that came on the plate. i'm not sure i've had a better burger ANYWHERE!! the fries were huge and hand cut, perfectly done. Not a soggy fry to be seen. Hubby ordered the western burger, came topped with a great sauce! it was amazing. Both meals came with a delicious half sour pickle. They should have taken some of the over $ 200,000.00 in free taxpayer money and trained the staff.We arrived at 730 pm waited until 800 before waitress greeted us 3 tables of 3 people were already served.We ordered at 815pm at 825 my son got a bowl of soup at 845pm I got my clam dinner at 850 pm my wife got her salad.At 915 pm my wife got her pork chop dinner my clam platter was almost gone, the clams and fries were cooked in same basket the fries were done but the bigger clams were raw uncooked breading yummy.The pork chops were good .At 945pm my son still hadnt got his chicken parm. I am looking forward to returning to Nicks Diner to work my way through the entire menu. We were a group of 5 hungry adults on a Sunday at 5pm 10/4. We started with the cheese curd appetizer with spiced honey. Perfectly cooked curds in fresh oil and tasted so yummy in sauce. The Nicks Burger was perfectly cooked, high quality ingredients and large enough. The fries seemed homemade. The chili burger was exactly as described and delicious if you like sweet Chili, which I do. I am a big eater and the serving size is plenty. Andrew was our server and he is fast, sincere and just perfect. Plenty of homemade desserts to select from by the front door but we were too full. The decor is fresh and very comfortable and the price is right...$65 for 5 meals, 1 drink and 1 appetizers plus tax and $3 credit card fee...pay in cash to avoid the cc fee. Went in on a Sunday around 1 pm with 2 of my friends, we sat at the bar because there were no tables available. Took the waitress a few minutes to acknowledge us and give us menus. I ordered the mac & cheese burger, one of my friends ordered the pancakes from the all day breakfast menu and the other friend ordered the open faced hand carved turkey sandwich. As we waited for our food I looked around and it looks very nice in there since the remodel but I soon noticed that all the waitresses disappeared. Since we sat at the bar you can see into the kitchen and the window ledge where the put the plates of food for the waitress to pick up and I noticed that there was 4 plates of food that had been sitting there for 10 minutes or so (so the food must've been cold by then). Finally the waitress came and picked up the food and brought it to the table. We waited what felt like to long for 3 simple dishes. Finally I notice my burger and friends pancakes are up on the ledge so the waitress gave them to us after a minute or two of them sitting there. So now two of us have or food and we're waiting for our other friend to get his food. After 5 minuets of waiting for his food the waitress asks the kitchen if its coming out and since there's a window to the kitchen you can here what they were saying. The chef was saying that they never got the order ticket for his sandwich. (So there must've been a problem with the computers or something). Then the chef says that they're out of turkey anyways. So now they finally tell us that they're out of turkey so now he has to order something else. So he orders a different sandwich and they get it out as fast as they could but now since we've waited for his food to get to him (since we originally thought his turkey sandwich would've been right out behind ours) our food is now cold. My hamburger was nothing special in taste and my friend only got 2 pancakes when on the menu it says 3. They only took the soda off the bill of my friend with the sandwich that the messed up on. Thought about trying out the delivery but with seeing the food wait and the lack of hustle I can only image how cold the food would be by the time it would get to me.
