My friend told me that she purchases her eyewear from Costco and it is very affordable. I decided to come take a look and to my surprise it is very cost-effective compared to the optometrist's office. I came on a Friday evening and surprisingly it was sparse. Baby Jane was very warm and personable. She was very patient and answered all my questions, which I had quite a handful. My optometrist prescribed me with occupational progressive lens. Baby Jane explained the type of lenses that Costco provides and gave me a breakdown of the pricing. I also needed a second pair of glasses for nighttime driving. She informed me that there was a promotion that if I purchased two pairs, I could get $50 off. She helped me find pairs that were suitable for my slender face. I learned that each pair of eyewear has the size on it. That was something new and will be helpful to know when I make purchases in the future. Despite the bad reviews that I read online, I was very pleased with the prompt and friendly service that I received today. I will definitely be making purchases here in the future assuming that I am happy with my new progressive glasses.

I stopped in before shopping to see if I could get an appointment and was able to see Dr. Jan right away! Dr. Jan was friendly and professional the whole time and addressed all of my concerns about my vision. In the end he told me I was in between my current prescription and the next so I could go either way but since I've been noticing that my vision had worsened I could move to the next prescription. This was a great first visit and I will definitely be back even though this location is a bit of a hike for me. Highly recommend Dr. Jan!

Unfortunately, the care and professionalism I received matched the physical pain I was in. Upon entering, the staff was unapproachable and cold, and Dr. Jan addressed me only by name to give staff directions in front of me while entirely skipping a basic greeting. Before my exam, which included a painful laser photo that left me needing a moment to recover. I explicitly verified my insurance coverage again. Despite having called ahead to confirm insurance, receiving two text reminders, and having the appointment confirmed day-of, the receptionist shouted across a crowded, very small waiting room immediately after my procedure: "You can't see the doctor without paying out of pocket. We don't take "Name of insurance!" She literally yelled outloud the name of my medical insurance carrier. When I reasonably asked why my appointment and insurance had been repeatedly confirmed beforehand, the receptionist simply shrugged her shoulders coldly and demanded I leave, while Dr. Jan closed her office door to avoid the situation steps away from me. To be subjected to public humiliation while in acute physical pain, with zero empathy, compassion, or accountability from the staff or the physician is completely unacceptable. I left in pain and deeply disappointed by this establishment. Avoid this office inside of Costco if you expect basic respect and competent administrative communication.

I am writing this review to warn other customers, especially those using Medicaid or other vision…read moreinsurance plans, to ask very specific questions before agreeing to any exam or service. My son had an appointment for a routine eye exam and glasses. Before the appointment, Visionworks was aware of his insurance coverage and what benefits were included. After the visit, we discovered that a contact lens exam had also been performed and billed, resulting in additional out-of-pocket costs. My son's understanding was that he was there for a standard eye exam and glasses. He does not wear contacts and was not seeking contact lenses. Visionworks may claim that the service was discussed or authorized, but at minimum the communication was unclear enough that he left believing he was receiving only the exam he came in for. The frustrating part is that the contact lens exam fee is non-refundable. Had it been made absolutely clear that an additional service with an additional charge was being added, we would have declined it immediately. My advice to anyone going here: do not assume the exam being performed is only the one you scheduled. Specifically ask whether a contact lens exam is being added and whether it will create any additional charges. Get a clear answer before the exam begins. Whether this is an intentional business practice or simply poor communication, the result is the same: customers can leave an appointment facing charges for services they did not realize they were receiving. That should not happen.

They also informed me that my entire appointment was taken "off of the books" days ago because I didn't "confirm" with earlier texts. If I was taken off the"off the books" why would I get that text message an hour before my original appointment telling me it was moved up 10 minutes?! The one star is kind considering there was no service at all to rate and the phone conversations were unprofessional, defensive and frankly rude. The good news is...the doctor did get their break and THAT is apparently what matters most.

I'm pretty turned off from chain Optometrists now after dealing with this one. Specifically Mr…read more Ebraheem. I feel like they rush your eye measurements, and then pressure you into picking "the one that looks best" after you're clearly struggling to see either options. Just trying to get to the next patient. Then when I had to do a reexamination after my new power was just awful, they wanted to charge me for trying to see another doctor instead of the same one. I explained why I would rather have someone else, but it "would not count as a reexamination." So I went with him.. they called me several times trying to "remind" me to come in early. I figured I was the last patient and they probably wanted me to get there early so they could wrap things up.. which already made me feel this would be rushed. Again. (They want you to come in 15 mins early, no matter what, but the the amount of "confirmation" calls I got, emphasizing it, was surprising). I arrived early and there I overheard the doctor checking to see if the last patient, me, arrived (this was 20 mins before my scheduled appointment). So my feelings were correct. Finally, the doctor saw me and when I explained he immediately became defensive, and basically blamed me for the wrong power. After I explained that my old (2 glasses ago) glasses are clearer than the power he gave, he left the room with my old glasses, came back and said "okay I have your new power." I asked what did he do, he said he's using my old glasses as the power because "if it works for you why bother change it?" No rechecking or retesting. Just giving up, giving me my old power and quickly rushing to leave. I'll just have to deal with it for now. But I will not be returning to MyEyeDr again, anywhere. I need to find a proper optometrist next time. If you need simple vision corrections, maybe this will work for you. But if you need someone who will spend time with you, to make sure you get as close to correct as possible, these guys are not the place to go to.

I have been having quite the time when trying to get my eyes examined. I have popped into so many…read moreeye places to try and get myself a scheduled visit. Most times I set up an appointment, show up, and then told that my insurance is not taken. I decided to do it differently this time. I stopped into the store and asked if my insurance was taken and if so would I be able to set up an appointment. The lady that was working did her due diligence when checking if they took my insurance. I sat there for several minutes as she tapped away on her tablet, searching every way possible. In the end, after all her help, she wasn't able to take my insurance. (They actually probably could, but each place runs my insurance incorrectly and expect me to pay out of pocket and do the work to be repaid, that's not how insurance works, but I digress).

There's a new General Manager named: Latisha, who was really personable, friendly, and good to my family and I. We met with our Optometrist virtually, Dr. April Wellons was also very friendly, thorough, and attentive. Initially, I was concerned about the virtual appointment but all of that was eased relatively quickly, and as long as this new regime is in place, I think I can safely say, I'll be returning as a patient.
