Rather than tell me before I arrived or even after I arrived, I was told after waiting to be seen by the Dr that they didn't take my insurance. I could have been notified before I took an hour off work and driving time that my insurance wasn't accepted. I asked why my paperwork wasn't reviewed when received and was told that they do review it. I don't have any time off to waste like this and finally got upset enough to write this review. They should have reviewed my paperwork before I arrived so I could cancel the appointment. It did seem, based on statements made, that I could pay 100% out of pocket. Why in the world would I do this if I have good vision insurance? Just be honest and let me know as soon as possible that they don't take my insurance.

I had gotten my eyes checked elsewhere, but I had yet to find glasses and I didn't like the styles they offered at the optometrist. When I got inside, I noticed that there was hand sanitizer right up front and all the employees had gloves on as well. They did let me know right away that I was able to try on glasses and that the ones that I didn't like went into a sanitizing tray on each table so they can be properly sanitized before being placed back on the wall. I definitely liked the measures they took with ensuring everyone's safety amidst the pandemic! I ended up finding a pair of translucent glasses that I liked. They were priced for $95, so I was anticipating adding tax on and whatnot when I purchased them. But no! They were actually $95, including adding my prescription onto them! I opted to add the blue light protector (since I work in an office & spend 8 hours a day staring at a computer screen) and it was $50 more. I received my glasses in about 5 days later, and I went back for an adjustment (since the frames I got were a bit tight on my temples) and I ended up buying another pair, haha! Dr. Tran is one of the nicest and most able medical professional I have ever encountered. With an office located in the Arundle Mill Costco, each visit is a breeze from a logistical standpoint. Her assistant is wonderful as well and really makes setting up an appointment very easy. I am not sure if the office takes insurance for regular eye exams (standard glasses and/or contact lenses) but the price is reasonable at $100 for my son's contact lens exam. Dr. Tran uses some of the latest equipment to conduct the exam. It looks like some futuristic Jetson's type stuff but it is very effective. However, what sets her apart from other Optometrists is that she always pulls out the the tried and true tools of the profession to check everything out. We never feel rushed with her and she listens to all of our concerns. Just a wonderful experience ensuring my son's vision is correct. I stopped into the store and asked if my insurance was taken and if so would I be able to set up an appointment. The lady that was working did her due diligence when checking if they took my insurance. I sat there for several minutes as she tapped away on her tablet, searching every way possible. In the end, after all her help, she wasn't able to take my insurance. (They actually probably could, but each place runs my insurance incorrectly and expect me to pay out of pocket and do the work to be repaid, that's not how insurance works, but I digress).

It's worth your time to check them out if you are in need of new pair of glasses and/or eye exam. Tucked away at their new location in the Dorsey Search area off of Dorsey Hall Road, the office is bright, clean, and staffed with courteous team members, and also, they have a great selection of frames. I had come here to have my son get a eye exam, which was easy and painless, and Dr. Cho was very patient in evaluating my young son. After we finished, we sat down with a staff member and reviewed the options of selecting frames and lenses, and since we brought our frames we had just ordered the lenses which would take a couple days. When we came back, they helped us fit the new glasses to my son to ensure comfort and proper fit, and asked us to wait a short while to adjust the glasses, insert and edge the new lenses to the frames. This being my first experience at Galleria Optical and while waiting for my son's glasses, I thought I should also get a check up myself on the health of my eyes and vision (since it's been a few years since the the last one) asked if I could also schedule an appointment as well. They mentioned since they were ahead of schedule if I'd like to get an eye exam now which worked out perfectly since I'm already there and waiting for my son's glasses. The exam was thorough despite being speedy, and I never felt like I was being rushed in my evaluation. Matter of fact, Dr. Cho double checked to make sure my vision was correct after she looked at my current pair of worn glasses. Really Hats off to Dr. Cho and the friendly staff members.
