Definitely worth having again! This was delicious and not bad by any means. We ordered pickup and it was ready exactly on time. I love how I didn't have to speak to anyone to pickup cause they put the orders on a shelf (as an extreme introvert, this is why I'll definitely be back here over other places). My husband and I both ordered the try 3 since it was our first time. He got the turkey avocado, potato soup, and garden salad with ranch. He said everything was delicious and loved the ranch was more liquidy than thick. I ordered the chicken bacon ranch, chicken tortilla, and Caesar salad with Caesar dressing. The food was delicious but nothing blew me away. Soup was my least favorite despite tortilla soup being my favorite other places. It wasn't spicy, chicken was dry, and didn't seem authentic. Honestly, I wondered if they simply bought the premade soup from the Tom Thumb next door. The Caesar salad had a wonderfully salty dressing, plenty of croutons, and the cheap shredded Parmesan cheese (shaved would greatly improve this). The sandwich was yummy and even though the bread felt very hard, it was soft and buttery. The mayo and honey mustard mix was delicious. One slice of bacon and not nearly enough deli meat to account for the thick bread. But again, the flavors were fine. Next time I'll try the lobster bisque and not order a salad. My wife had the Salmon Cesar Salad which was a big serving and she loved the taste of the salmon along with the fixings. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised when we were greeted and welcomed by someone (an actual live person) who took our order. We lived down the street from a Newk's for years and never got around to trying it until we were up in plano and STARVING one day. This is now our new favorite sandwich spot (in comparison to McAlister's and Jason's Deli). We have been here several times and have loved it each time. We stopped going here years ago, now I remember why... my roast beef was raw in the French dip, the bread was toasted but still dense and mushy, the potato salad was flavorless and mushy, the tables all have sticky varnish from harsh chemicals, my wife's sandwich was made wrong and the chips were all crushed. I eat here weekly. Convenient location. Has outdoor patio that is dog friendly. Great size and seating for large groups. I love the sandwich and soup combo. My family gets the pizzas and salads. It has been consistently good. I don't love the desserts. There is less service due to order kiosk but many are going that way and I'm not bothered by it. First time here and the food is good. I enjoyed the Italian sandwich, the Philly, the mac & cheese, and the lobster bisque. 04/22/2023 The second time I am eating here ( on a weekend ) and is a complete disaster . This location and eatery used to be my absolute favorite for quite some time ... esp for the menu and quality of ingredients ... which has now gone completely downhill . I coaxed my family and bunch of friends to eat here today instead of fast food chains .... We ordered there and ate at the restaurant itself . And was a big mistake The pizza and soup today was cold ( not even warm ) . the chicken pieces on the pizza , in the salad and the chicken salad were extremely chewy , smelly and stale. The cake slices which used to be usually okay were extremely dry and smelled weird . My kids won't eat them .. ( usually they eat anything sweet no matter what) I am bad at sending back food.. but instead mentioned the quality of food to the manager / cashier who was completely disinterested and unapologetic. The kitchen staff looked at me as if I am out of mind . More than 4 People in our group complained of stomach ache and nausea about 15 mins after eating here . And now am extremely guilty about making everyone eat at a bad quality place and yet pay double the amount than what they wanted to spend today Not sure if this is a weekend issue or a new Normal for this location now ... but Hopefully the people in-charge take a note and work up the quality real soon Not returning for sure. Boy how the Newks have fallen. It must be very difficult to get good help. I used to love Newks because they had great extras like good pickles out on a counter and their food was healthy and delicious. This time I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and lobster and crab soup. What I got was lobster and crab soup and a shrimp sandwich. I told the person who brought it and the manager came out to talk to me. He said you must have ordered the shrimp because that is what is on the receipt. So the person at the register makes a mistake and it is the customer's problem. On top of that the table was really sticky so sticky your napkins stick to the table. I had already put Newks on my infrequent list now it off my list of places to consider altogether. I suggest you do the same too or at least double check your order. Not only is the check register person incompetent but apparently the manager too.
