We happened upon Newk's while looking for something different from the routine fast food burger, fries scenario. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised when we were greeted and welcomed by someone (an actual live person) who took our order. We were even more surprised when our order was brought to us promptly; exactly the way we ordered it while it was still hot, fresh and delicious! The service was efficient and very courteous. We stopped going here years ago, now I remember why... my roast beef was raw in the French dip, the bread was toasted but still dense and mushy, the potato salad was flavorless and mushy, the tables all have sticky varnish from harsh chemicals, my wife's sandwich was made wrong and the chips were all crushed. The personal service has been replaced with kiosks, out of breadsticks, the carpet in front of the drink machines was soaking and mouldy smelling... Have I convinced you yet not to go? I eat here weekly. Convenient location. Has outdoor patio that is dog friendly. Great size and seating for large groups. I love the sandwich and soup combo. My family gets the pizzas and salads. It has been consistently good. I don't love the desserts. There is less service due to order kiosk but many are going that way and I'm not bothered by it. Great order ahead and pick up at curb service. I'm just shocked at the worn and dirty furnishings. I know times are challenging. Time for a refresh. read more

First time here and the food is good. I enjoyed the Italian sandwich, the Philly, the mac & cheese, and the lobster bisque. The only reason for the 4 star is because the place is a little dated on the inside. The booths and the chairs really need a good cleaning or need to be replaced. Overall, good food tho. read more

04/22/2023 The second time I am eating here ( on a weekend ) and is a complete disaster . This location and eatery used to be my absolute favorite for quite some time ... esp for the menu and quality of ingredients ... which has now gone completely downhill . I coaxed my family and bunch of friends to eat here today instead of fast food chains .... We ordered there and ate at the restaurant itself . And was a big mistake The pizza and soup today was cold ( not even warm ) . the chicken pieces on the pizza , in the salad and the chicken salad were extremely chewy , smelly and stale. The cake slices which used to be usually okay were extremely dry and smelled weird . My kids won't eat them .. ( usually they eat anything sweet no matter what) I am bad at sending back food.. but instead mentioned the quality of food to the manager / cashier who was completely disinterested and unapologetic. The kitchen staff looked at me as if I am out of mind . More than 4 People in our group complained of stomach ache and nausea about 15 mins after eating here . And now am extremely guilty about making everyone eat at a bad quality place and yet pay double the amount than what they wanted to spend today Not sure if this is a weekend issue or a new Normal for this location now ... but Hopefully the people in-charge take a note and work up the quality real soon Not returning for sure. Boy how the Newks have fallen. It must be very difficult to get good help. I used to love Newks because they had great extras like good pickles out on a counter and their food was healthy and delicious. This time I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and lobster and crab soup. What I got was lobster and crab soup and a shrimp sandwich. I told the person who brought it and the manager came out to talk to me. He said you must have ordered the shrimp because that is what is on the receipt. So the person at the register makes a mistake and it is the customer's problem. On top of that the table was really sticky so sticky your napkins stick to the table. I had already put Newks on my infrequent list now it off my list of places to consider altogether. I suggest you do the same too or at least double check your order. Not only is the check register person incompetent but apparently the manager too.
