Newk's is one of our favorite eating places! Clean, nice restrooms, friendly efficient service and great food!

The pizza was the best part for my kids. It was our first time visiting, and we were excited at first, but the experience quickly became disappointing due to poor customer service. The server brought out only half of our food, and we waited about 10 minutes for the rest. We were told to wait because she would bring it "right back out," but eventually my husband had to walk up and get it himself. Spending $50 on a meal and not being able to enjoy it was frustrating. Our sandwiches were barely half portions--we ordered the turkey avocado, but there was far more avocado than turkey. My husband specifically asked for certain items not to be added to his salad, yet they were included anyway. I also asked for no ranch, but my salad was drenched in it. We sat for over 20 minutes .I had to go up and ask about our meal which they hadn't prepared. Then it came out with soggy salad and the bisque had no lobster,it tasted like ground fish with chicken stock no flavor what so ever. read more

The place wasn't clean and the salad wasn't fresh. I will never stop at the one in Longview again. They had just opened and the first table we sat at was dirty and they were cleaning the bathroom. The floor was very wet and slippery. I was confused why they would be cleaning the bathroom when they just opened and why the place was so dirty. The bathrooms were very well kept and clean as well as the hand washing stations they were completely full of soap and that's ALWAYS A PLUS!!!!! They will always have us a customers! Normally I love Newks. Not today. I placed an order to be delivered by ASAP and got the wrong salad. The ladies I spoke with at Newks said I would have to resolve the issue through ASAP. Well, it was Newks error and I cannot get through to ASAP, so I paid for a pretty expensive salad and got a box of lettuce. Newks did NOTHING to resolve THEIR error!!! read more

I like Newk's and always enjoy trying a new one when I travel. We live in Longview now and I have a lot to compare this one to: Austin, Waco, College Station, Tyler, Shreveport, Pensacola, Panama City FL, Baton Rouge, Gulfport, Mobile.....you get the picture. This one doesn't seem very customer oriented. There is typically a line, almost going out the door, but only one person taking orders. It's very slow here to get your food compared to every other location I've been to. Still, I give it 4 stars because the food is always good and they get my quirky order right! read more

Used to be consistently good. I don't know WHAT happened. Best potato soup around except I found out they quit "rendering the bacon." That means they don't cook it!! Uncooked or even undercooked pork can cause some serious health issues. I have ordered the potato soup with "rendered bacon" only to find white, uncooked pieces of bacon in the soup. So, I tried ordering without bacon, but it still had that gross uncooked bacon in it. When I asked a manager about it, she told me this: "Corporate told us we no longer render the bacon unless someone asks." I've checked with a friend in the restaurant business, and she was horrified! I have sent 2 messages to corporate, with no response. Maybe they will pay attention to this. read more

Chef salad was a generous portion but hardly any meat or cheese, just a lot of lettuce. Service was really bad, and they weren't that busy at 11:00 am! Had to go retrieve my food, even though it was just sitting on the counter and every employee just ignored it. There's so many sandwiches shops that are better and happy to serve you. read more

We have come here many times in the past, and the food and service were good. Recently, the last 2 visits, have been very disappointing. We had to check on our orders, and the food was not as good in the past. The service was not good. I noticed two workers gathered around the soda machine talking when they should have been serving the food. The ambiance is the same and it is fine. read more

My husband and I came here for lunch today. This place is happening during lunch hour. Admittedly we have a complicated order, and we always make a fun joke about "you ready for this" when we place the order. We sat down and got to talking and didn't really notice time passing. When we looked at our watch it had been a bit that we were waiting and noticed that others ordering at the same time as us had already received their order. The manager came over to us, was very honest and said a mess up had happened with my meal, apologized, and offered us some soup or anything we wanted while they remade my meal. We both agreed to some Soup and my husband jokingly mentioned the cake. Minutes later the manager comes back with soups and two slices of cake! SO NICE. The potato soup is amazing FYI. When our order was ready he showed us that he refunded our meal and gave us a GC for our next meal. My husband and I were so impressed with his kindness. I frequent Newk's pretty regularly and the last couple of times it has not been good. I ordered the choose 2 today and I asked the counter girl how the grilled vegetable soup was and she told me "real good". Well it was not! It tasted like soup out of a can. Do not get it. We ate at Newk's about a year ago, and were very impressed. The food was really good, service was good, etc. Fast forward a year. My husband is in the hospital, so I decided to place an order online and pick it up after I finished my visit to the hospital. This way, I don't have to cook, family gets a yummy dinner, and I don't have to clean up. Well, the food was good, but I was really disappointed with my "Choose 2" selection. When I go into Newk's it's like going into Cheers! All of the employees are so nice and friendly, and they get my order right 100% of the time, even double checking the ticket when I get there to ensure that it's correct. AND they have the best salads ever, in the history of the universe. I have tried every single one, and they are ALL delicious. My favorite is the Shrimp and Avocado or the Black and Bleu (which is basically not even a salad, but whatever, who cares). My boss swears by the Newk's club and it always looks and smells really good. This is my favorite restaurant in Longview. Actually, in the world. I eat here like 4 times a week. Never get tired of it. If I could eat Newk's every single day of my life I would be the happiest person alive. Seriously. As I first entered I was not greeted by anyone. I step into the bathroom and the floor was soaking wet without a wet floor sign. After I ordered I noticed that every single booth was covered in trash and was 5-10 minutes before they were cleaned up(2pm). The fountain drink machine was broken as well. This place reminds me a lot of Fresh Express in Dallas. The decor is very contemporary and clean, with granite table tops and a pickle bar! We met some friends from HS here, with their kids, and the place got pretty busy around 1230 on a Saturday afternoon. It got a little loud, but heck, we had loud kids with us so who noticed? So you probably really want to know about the food huh? Ok, here it is. We both got a sandwich/soup combo. I had the club (excellent) and the red beans and rice (not so excellent). The RB&R was mushy and did not have much flavor at all. The pieces of sausage were kind of tough. He had the steak sandwich (not so excellent) and the potato soup (excellent). The steak sandwich was though, and not especially appetizing. the soup, however, had an amazing flavor and was filled with nice chunks of potato. Most every table had at least one pizza on it (except for ours) and they looked yummy - nice and thin and crispy! The salads were HUGE. We'll go back next time we're in town. read more

This store is clean, always is. The service is pretty decent and reliable. The food has taste and is well presented. I had the Shrimp Po' Boy and slaw. Pretty good, pretty good indeed. ... We went here in the pouring rain last week for lunch. The parking lot was full and the place was packed.....must be a good place to eat. JG score from us of 5/10 (+2 for food, 0 for atmosphere, +1 for price, +1 for fountain Diet Dr Pepper, 0 for typical service and +1 for we would return) The 6 cheese pimento bacon Mac @ Cheese was very good but even the entree size was not that large....good though. The Deluxe pizza was also a good pizza to eat much better than fast food types of pizza around but not too standout either. We tried the pulled pork and roasted corn soup on this rainy day and it was if anything just okay.....didn't really care too much for it....that was all we tried today, the little condiment table had some good things to munch on and the menu looks to have several other good things to try. The atmosphere is okay= nicely decorated and not too large an area so when it is packed like today, they seat over 100....can get loud and crowded. You can eat here for under $15. They do have fountain Diet Dr Pepper. Our service was friendly and nice today. We will come back sometime....it was good. read more
