First of all, we love the food at Newks! Our favorites are the sandwiches, pizzas and their salads. Caramel cake tastes just like the one my grandmother used to bake! That being said, we are consistently faced with dirty tables (10 when we left) when we eat there early in the evening. When there are four to five employees in the back, I don't understand how the management can justify why there 10 tables waiting to be bused. No matter how great the food tastes, the dirty tables leave a bad taste in my mouth. We used to be weekly customers, now it's more like once a month. read more

First visit here. The place is neat and clean. The personnel are plentiful, friendly and helpful. Like Jason's Deli where you order then go sit down. The menu is mostly sandwiches, pizza and salads. I had the Italian sandwich and my wife had the chicken salad. Both were good. With two fountain drinks the tab was almost $22 which is a little pricy but not outrageous.Nice place but nothing special that would required the urge to go back over other restaurants. read more

had the pepporoni pizza and the half caesar...too much dressing on the salad..order dressings on the side. The service is kinda help yourself and that is good. I am a bit impatient anyway. I had the Bar-b-que chicken pizza. Good size, good taste at a good price. My only wish is that the crust was a bit more chewy. It was a bit odd that the chicken was sliced chicken breast (or maybe shaved is a better description) instead of chucks, but it didn't seem to affect the taste. We also got one of the Southern Salads and that also was very good. Seemed to be healthy choices - didn't see anything fried on the menu. Wife and I tried the pizzas. I order the Margherita or Margerita pizza - they spell it both ways - and it was not as advertised. Hard pizza, not crispy, and it came with no basil, which is one of the three, count 'em three, ingredients of a Margherita pizza. Waitress took the pizza back, and she was met with a scowl from the kitchen manager and when the pizza returned it had approximately 2 leaves of basil, chopped micro-fine, all in a two-and-a-half inch circle in the center of the pizza. The wife's veggie pizza was better. PS. I just noticed someone already posted a picture of the Margherita pizza with the caption "where's the basil?" Where indeed. read more

We should have learned our lesson. We came back to Newk's again to place a to go order. We we got home they had given my husband a chicken salad sandwich instead of the chicken strip sandwich he asked for. We didn't discover this until we got home. We had to drive all the way back to the restaurant to get the correct order while my food sat at home getting cold. Very few apologies were offered. read more

Decent chain; I like the pesto-chicken sandwich. Salads are good, but they put to much dressing on them; make sure to ask for it on the side. Soups are ok, but not great. Not a fan of their pizza, it is bland. read more

Not happy with my 5 cheese pizza at all...it was over loaded with olive oil. The pizza was not edible. The service was great and the staff was very friendly but most of the food we ordered was full of olive oil dripping off it. They had a chance to make a good first impression and failed. The food was o.k. When looking online, the restaurant chain was offering a free slice of cake as an enticement, so we thought that we would give it a try. We ordered the half soup/half sandwich or salad which apparently doesn't qualify for the coupon even though we were spending as much or more than just a sandwich or just a salad. The food was really good, the staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. I especially enjoy the Pimento Cheese! I also like how they have pickles, mini bread sticks, peppers and other things to snack on while you wait for your food. My only knock against this place was that it took a LONG time to get our food, but at least we had things to snack on while we waited. read more

My favorite foods! The cashier was very sweet and energetic! The shrimp salad is very plain. I tried salt and balsamic and extra lemon dressing and pepper. I was disappointed. But their sandwiches are so good. Their regular salads are tasty. Just need spice for shrimp salad. Chocolate cake is good. Love the crab chowder. read more

Ever since the restaurant changed owners, it has taken longer and longer to get your food! Now we go for lunch and it takes 30 minutes to get a cold salad and some soup (that we all know has been sitting in a warmer all day long). Unfortunately, one of our favorite lunch places is now off the list. It seems like there has always been great customer service but today looking across the dining room, there were tons of tables waiting on food, NO ONE serving food, NO ONE checking on customers. I eat here often and really enjoy it but today was terrible. Many of the tables were dirty. No one seemed to be cleaning them off. The complementary condiments were either empty or very low. We love Newk's. From amazing service to great food, they have never disappointed us. The Vegetarian Club sandwich is unbelievably good. The only compliant I may have is there isn't enough parking, even after they have added an extra parking lot to the back. However, if that is the only complaint, it is just due to how popular it is. read more

The pizzas are surprisingly good. The crust is thin and flavorful plus it has a good texture. The spicy sicilian pizza is really really good but it's a limited time thing. It's so good that I'll miss it when it's gone. The five cheese with sun-dried tomatoes is also very good. I'm a big fan of the pizzas but they have some good soups too. Also their pimento mac and cheese is excellent. Their website is top notch and you can customize your order better than other places like this. I always order online and they are good about having it ready at the time you schedule for pick up. I have nothing bad to say about Newk's. Good food plus fast and convenient so I'll continue eating here regularly. read more

Great little place. They have sandwiches, salads, California style pizzas, and soups. Everything I had was fresh and tasted great.

They have very sketchy nutritional info. One staff said they didn't have anything & and the other only found 1/3 of the print outs.

It's so rare that a restaurant pries a bad review out of me... but Newk's will never get our business. Their food is delicious and we used to get salads & soup at Newk's twice a week, but their to-go service has been absolutely dismal. After half a dozen bad experiences, we refuse to return. I've been hung up on and placed on infinite hold many times. Furthermore, they frequently run out of main ingredients for their salads, so my order has been refused, call-back cancelled, and worse... once I showed up, PAID for our order, only to be told they didn't have any more chicken for their salads. I was calm and polite, yet they offered no substitution and NO apology for wasting my time (25 minutes to be exact). A "manager" had to come issue my refund, and never looked me in the eye. My husband wrote an email about our experience to their online management, but hasn't heard a thing from Newk's in 4 weeks. I'm disappointed that a few bad employees ruined this place for me, but there are plenty of other restaurants in Longview that do care about my business. read more
