We came after church service because we heard great reviews. We got seated at about 10:30. Even though we ordered pretty right away, we did not get our food until after 12. We were a party of 4 and saw many other tables get seated, eat, and leave while we waited. Food was ok, but definitely not worth that long of a wait. Restrooms were very dirty, and the restaurant itself wasn't very clean. Probably won't be back. read more

Scotties has been on my list to try for some time, and I couldn't be happier that I finally got around to checking it out. It's next door to a gas station and rather small. I worried about the wait time and there was none at Brunch time on a Sunday. We sat outside, which is risky in TX this time of year. Their outside area is accompanied with fans and in the shade, so it was rather pleasant. For food, I ordered a Brunch BLT with sweet potato fries. Their BLT has a fun twist to it - it has a fried egg and fresh avocado included. Safe to say it did not last long. Service was great. Prices were reasonable. Ok, I'm from the Metroplex with family in East Texas. We wanted to eat somewhere new in Longview and saw the pictures and quality reviews of this place. Well, what I wasn't expecting was that the bistro was attached to a gas station. I thought it was a joke, but no, this shares a building with a gas station. But once we were seated, we decided to eat outside, which is in the south end of the building in former parking spots. However the view was quite nice. The bistro does a good job with the decor. It was all a little surreal, but I loved it. It's totally "East Texas" to have a bistro here. But you're not reading this for a review of the ambiance, you want to know about the food. Let me tell you, this place can compete with ANY restaurant in the DFW metroplex. It was delicious! The food options were amazing and the presentation of the food was wonderful. It was a delightful surprise. The flavors were spectacular, and the cost was reasonable. Once you extend your thoughts beyond the placement of this restaurant, and focus on the taste of the food, you will be transported to probably the best food in all of Longview, and East Texas. Well this was a surprise. By the looks on Yelp my husband was mesmerized and kept telling me "we have to go". We got up a little earlier than usual and out we went. It's kinda off the beaten path and attached to a gas station. Was it expecting that. Lots and of patio sitting but it was hot so opted to sit inside and there are a few tables inside and not crowded. Service was quick and friendly. Hubby and I had the same thing and we ate it all! Granddaughter had eggs and bacon. She inhaled the eggs and decided we didn't want the bacon. Pancakes we very thick. Didn't get a picture of them but it looked like they cooked two pancakes and then tossed the together. I was pretty full with the eggs, bacon and potatoes that only half the pancakes were eaten. Granddaughter took a few bites. All in all the foods good, service good and the place is clean. We will be back! Hope to see read more

I was not expecting this bistro to be connected to a convenience store. I used Yelp to locate a lunch spot near me. Although it was June in Texas....95 degrees... I chose to sit outside on the patio. The ceiling fans made it very pleasant. There were two menus because it was Taco Tuesday. I liked that there were just a few selections but it was still hard to decide because I wanted to try everything. The food was delicious. My waitress was excelling and very attentive. I was the only person on the patio and not for sure if anyone was eating inside. It seemed like people were ordering to go a lot or maybe Door Dash delivery. A very unique and interesting place to eat! We were driving through and decided to give it a try; was hoping for lunch but definitely not disappointed with their brunch! The Nashville hot chicken was the highlight and had such an awesome crispy breading with tender juicy chicken on the inside. Paired perfectly with the unique cheese waffle as well as perfect for the chicken sandwich (which normally comes with a fried egg). The truffle fries had awesome flavor but could have been a little crispier. If you are ever passing through give it a try, definitely would try it again if I had the chance. read more

My only complaint about this place is that they aren't open longer. It's the best spot for brunch in Longview! Whenever family or friends from out of town visit, this is the place to take them. Delicious mimosas, local coffee, and tasty cocktails. Their avocado toast is consistently amazing, and that's coming from someone who eats a ton of avocado toast. Their outdoor seating area is so cute if the weather is nice, and the inside has fun paintings on the walls that coincide well with their dishes. The service is always nice too, they can keep up with the crowds and still make you feel special. I really appreciate when they bring out water for my dog on days I eat outside. My suggestion: add more vegetarian options to your menu! read more

Food is pretty solid, however the menu needs better description. Hot Chicken doesn't necessarily mean Spicy Fried Chicken at a quick glance. And Home Fries doesn't convey Seasoned Fries the way they were heavily seasoned. It seems like the Cuisine is very Indian Influenced, which is fine but it's just good to have expectation of what you're selecting from a menu. The service was good, and I enjoyed the outdoor patio. My main criticism was that I got the pretzel which cost $14, but the large pretzel was not homemade, and the beer cheese sauce, which was homemade, was not good. When I asked the server about the flour in the sauce not being cooked out, she said the chef knew about it and chose to serve it that way. In my world, if you know something is wrong, you fix it. Scotties is one of my wife and my go-to restaurants. Whether for a date night or brunch, we always enjoy it. We love the unique interpretations on traditional dishes. Chicken and waffles and Punjabi Benedict are our brunch go-tos, and then we've had multiple of the dinner and "fancy Friday" dishes, which we've enjoyed. Try the steak frites - the Parmesan truffle fries are over the top. This is the spot where one of my favorite under the radar chefs for comfort food ended up. Chef Ronnie Esposito, of Food Network fame, is holding it down at Scottie's in East Texas. Chef Ronnie has a way of making the ordinary extraordinary and, to borrow a phrase, kick it up a notch. His expertise is making you not notice what you're ordering is top quality until it comes out to you, and you realize the delight he has made. He is a kind, open, and honest Chef, and I don't think he has ever come into conflict with another person. This place is the real deal. read more
